DO NOT take this professor. He is horrible
Worst professor I've ever had in my 4 years at csuf. Very unclear with directions, class is disorganized, and his english was very difficult to understand. He reads straight from the powerpoints that he posts on Titanium but you still have to show up to class for attendance. Group project=joke
He is very nice prof. and helpful
Not helpful at all. Doesn't speak clear English. I leave class everyday more frustrated each time. Directions are so unclear it's not even funny
Good professor , helpful and nice
The positive review below must be something the INSTRUCTOR (not professor) wrote about himself. Every single person in my class thought he was horrible. Can't understand his english for the life of me
very helpful, easy to pass, quizes and exams aren't too bad if you follow the material. he provides good case studies. he gives good grades for assignments. He's a great professor.
A really disorganized instructor. He literally just reads through his power point slides without explaining much. You have to attend class because he passes around a sign in sheet. Thought test aren't too hard, it was way too many chapters to study for the midterm, and the final was a cumulative test.
I really like this professor, he is knowledgable of his class, he help students a lot , read the book and the ppt and you can have a great grade.
He really knew the material and made it interesting, great class, great teacher.
Really good professor. explain the material really well. Not so hard tests.
Good professor
Great professor! His knowledge is more than what students need for this class. lectures are sometimes boring, but lot of practical materials. Overall I highly recommend him!
Wonderful professor! Great discussions which help you to understand the concept. Not a difficult class and as long as you work on study guide you'll do great! Also you require to do a group project.
Not clear in English, horrible teacher . Can't understand his lecture. He reads from power point. poor knowledge
He's a great professor because he treats us like family, he reaches out to us in a way that we understand and he understands us back, he provide us with good case studies and useful study guide.
The professor is very nice and the class is not hard. Three exams including the final, all based on the study guides he gives you. One short individual paper and a group paper/presentation, both were pretty easy. He's a little hard to understand at times because of his accent but is very nice and really wants to help you pass this class.
Professor Alamir is one of the nicest professors out there. He's extremely willing to help; he wants all of his students to pass. He brought chocolate for the people who did well on tests/papers. He doesn't take roll, but there are in-class assignments for the participation portion of your grade. He has a think accent, so a bit tough to understand.
nice professor, helpful and care about students, test not heavy , useful team project not too hard
Pros: nice & helpful. Cons: boring, only reads from PowerPoints and it is hard to understand his poor English, and unclear in instructions. Must go to class as he gives assignments each class for participation points. Exams cover a lot of material, and there is a group project. Would not take again.
Horrible professor. Very difficult to understand, and only reads from PowerPoints. Would take another professor instead. Did not learn much from this class.
Great professor. The material is not hard and its easy to follow along with him during the lecture. Group project was little difficult. I would take him again
He is a great professor, He will help any student who needs it, and I highly recommend his classes. he provide us with good case studies and useful study guide.
The professor was willing to work with his students. The material and powepoints he provided was very straightforward and well organized, and he was friendly and approachable
He's a great professor. He's very respectful and helpful. His class is straight forward. No one fails the class, If you study you'll get an A or a B, if you don't study and not do well on exams he'll still pass you the course.
One of the best professor that I've ever had at California State University Fullerton
Avoid!! Only reads from PowerPoints. Hard to understand. Weekly quizzes and participation points. Exams seem to come from book publisher. Group project is fair but the rest of the class is dull and boring.
Instructor always had material prepared and organized every class. Had videos to keep class interesting and always willing to help
3 Test, mom-cumulative 1 group project Tons of in-class work and take home quizzes Overall, an OK teacher, didn't really lecturer, instead sped read the slides with a thick accent making them unintelligible. So, get ready to go home and go over the slides on your own time, but isn't so bad because most the test comes from there.
Definitely a straightforward and easy class overall. Yeah he has an accent but it's not too heavy. The material is a little tedious at times but I enjoyed this class and I stacked it with 4 other classes and still got a B. Do yourself a favor and don't unwrap your textbook... You will not use it.
He is an easy going professor. You don't really need the text book in this class because most of the exams questions come from the powerpoint slides. Attendance is not mandetory but gives participation points and in class assignments. Lectures are extremely boring and long and he gives lots of nonsense in class assignments. Overall I recommend.
very good case studies, clear powerpoint, nice professor, I recommend it, you need to study the powerpoint and the textbook for exams
By far one of the best Professors at CSUF. He goes over the material in class, group assignments, take home quizzes, and homework to make sure you understand. You can follow his lectures, not boring at all, exams are not bad at all (Multiple choice, true/false), study notes, quizzes and study guide . I highly recommend taking him.
He is by far the nicest professor in CSUF. he is very caring, humble, respectful and extremely nice to everyone. He does have some accent but not a big deal, the class can be a little boring but if you are willing to learn you will learn things in this class and pass this class easily. You won't feel stressed in this class. Take him!
The material was easy to digest however he lacks some teaching skills and on the top of all that his accent is difficult to understand. Too many in class assignments and quizzes (all useless.) Grads are always given late and does not reply to his emails immediately.
HE basically reads off the slides with his Broken English & heavy accent. Lectures are heavy & Attendance is mandatory & despite of all that half the class does not show up due to his poor teaching skills and boring materials( in-class assignments, HW & quizzes.) a group project ( written, presentation) easy but graded harshly. DoeNOT CURVE.
In the beginning of the semester, He seems pretty easy going, however his tests get more difficult with the time. One group project and presentation. Takes forever to grad the paper. You basically don't know your grad until it is the end of the semester. He does not reply to his emails either. Not an easy class.
His lectures are long and attendance is mandatory because of quizzes, small in class group assignments and participation. He likes to pick on random students for participation therefore you must be prepared. He had the most boring lectures ever along with point less assignments. One group project and three exams.
First let me begin by saying that Dr. Alamir if very nice. That being said that is pretty much the only positive thing I have to say about this course, a huge waste of time that consists of reading power-points and watching youtube videos. Doesn't grade anything except for 2 tests, exams are hard to get an A/B in because of the amount of material.
Highly recommended! Professor Alamir is a fair, mindful, and kind instructor who cares about all of students. Very knowledgable and easy to get along. Interactive class with fun discussions and videos that will teach you tones of stuff. FUN CLASS!
Definitely will take him again.. By far, he is one of the best management professor CSUF has ever had. He makes students life easy through easy lectures and reasonable criteria for grading. Fun group project, fun readings, and overall fun class.
Grade is condensed to exams, group project, and participation (attendance). Where you sit the first couple of days determines your group. He posts all lectures/videos/cases on Titanium. Study off of those and take the time to go by his study guide, it's all on the exam. Material isn't difficult but there's a lot to remember for exams.
He has a strong accent and his lecture is so boring. He just read EVERY SINGLE word on the slides, no any comment on the content. Exams are conceptual and a lot of memorization. Many students didn't show up for the last few classes because basically, you could read the slides by yourself.
I enjoyed the class, one of the best professors, defiantly i recommend it.
The professor was caring and helpful, honestly learned so much, he keeps a very relaxed environment, i enjoyed the teamwork and the friendly environment
Lectures off of the PPT so it can get a bit boring and also posts them on Titanium. Consists of case studies, quiz hw assignments, and group presentation/paper. He has an accent, but still clear to understand. Overall I enjoyed his class and will be taking another one of his courses next semester
This is the worst professor I've ever had in my life. All the students complain that he not only reads off the slides for each class, but he also mumbles and it is difficult to understand him through his thick accent. I do NOT recommend taking his class.
He is very knowledgeable and helpful, explains Business concepts in a way that was easy to understand. Great professor, always prepare for the topic in discuss. He shares great information such as videos, case studies and provide us with a study guide.
His lectures consist of him reading off the slides & showing videos; sometimes he gives further examples, etc. Memorize/know the slides to get an A. Points: 60% Exams, 30% Group Project, 10% Attendance & Participation (group activities). The group project isn't too bad. I barely got an A in the class and on the project. His accent isn't terrible.
Bad professor! Every week, Id ask him to grade my quizzes and always said he will but never did. Its finals week and only 3 quizzes out of like 20 are graded. He never responds to emails, and calls on people in class. Just read the book and memorize terms. Use quizlet to find exam questions. Very bad professor.
The professor does not use canvas or titanium for assignment submission and they are not posted on canvas. You basically have to take it by his word during class and the due dates are often not provided. The homework/assignments aspect of the class was very frustrating and confusing. Your grade is based on tests and quizzes so be prepared for that.
without a doubt one of the most important class you can take, a great professor who really explains each chapter well, I enjoyed the group discussion and case studies. not hard quizzes, 3 exams to do, and a project. I definitely recommend him
Lectures consisted of watching videos that explain topics and than breaking out into groups to discuss it. Weekly case study assignments as classwork and quizzes for grade. Team project at the end of analyzing a company's HR policies and explaining your recommendations. Kind of disorganized and took forever to grade assignments. Avoid if you can.

He took the time to give examples while going over the powerpoints in class. A professor that actually shows up on time and answers questions. On canvas there were quizzes. Work emailed, & class discussions. Various group assgmnts & final project with exams proctored. Very doable class just stay on top of your work and save quiz answers to study.
Professor Alamir are helpful and inspirational, I liked the discussion during the class, plus working in groups every class with feedback from the prof was helpful, quizzes every week and the homework was not so hard, I learned a lot from the project and it was fun, in general I enjoyed this class and the prof was very good and well organized
Nice guy, awful professor. Completely read off of power points. His tests were not straightforward. His study guides were not helpful. He had us watch videos and get into groups and "discuss" when there was nothing to discuss. Every breakout room, we just ended up saying something like "yup, the video explained organizational behavior"
Professor Alamir has been one of the best professors I ve had, wish I could have taken his class in person. He is nice and very understanding of his students. He is very through in his explanations and cultivates an environment where you totally comfortable to contribute to questions and discussions. Highly recommend!
I enjoyed attending this course, The Professor was helpful, I learned a lot from the group project, 3 exams were not that hard, weekly quiz and homework. I recommend this professor for this course,
Amazing Professor, I enjoyed taking his class, he is one of the nicest professors at CSUF. He made the course understandable and comfortable for students to participate in the class. I enjoyed discussing all case studies and working with my team on the team project.
Lectures were very boring, and felt like a high school class. While the professor does try to included a lot of participation, it often is not helpful. Often goes through full 3 hour just as a long PPT lecture. Exams are based on these PPTs and are not too difficult. One group based class presentation based on material learned in class.
Wonderful professor, I thoroughly enjoyed his class. Seems very interested in students and he is always willing to help, he is also very patient and understanding and put a lot of effort into his classes.
class lacks structure, assignments are emailed to him not on canvas, he's caring and nice but reads directly off of the powerpoints so you can get away with teaching yourself, he's not that great at replying to emails and takes a long time to grade anything, weekly online quizzes, 2 midterms and one final, everything is on qui****
lectures have nothing to do with exams. does not use canvas. exam questions were worded very tricky so be careful.
Great Professor that takes time to explain in detail, patient and understanding and put a lot of effort into his classes, I enjoyed his class and he was always available
One of the best professor that I ever had, three exams, group discussion, weekly quizzes and team project
Weekly quizzes, 3 exams final paper and presentation. Studying the slides isn't enough for the exam. THey are more situational questions than anything. Professor just reads off the slides. Assignments usually every week and doesn't grade them until the end they are also done in groups.. Just pick another professor for 340 to save the stress.
Professor Alamir is truly exceptional and helpful, his unwevering support creates an inspiring and enhancing environment, I enjoyed attending the strategic management course
Professor Alamir is an excellent, helpful, and respectful educator. I thoroughly enjoyed attending his lectures, highly recommend him
A great professor overall. Offered extra credit towards the end. The class comprised three exams, team project, quizzes and homework's. Passing is achievable by completing quizzes and homework's, participating in discussions and demonstrating effort. I would certainly take his class again
Professor Alamir possesses a remarkable ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner. The course structure, content delivery, real world example and case studies provided have significantly enriched my understanding of the subject matter.
Professor Alamir is hands down the best professor I've had in my studies at CSUF, his passion for teaching is contagious and he make the most challenging concepts easy to grasp, he really care about us and want us to do well, I'm grateful to have such a great teacher
Professor Alamir is truly exceptional in field of strategic management. Their expertise and passion for the subject shine through in every lecture, and his way to link academic concepts with real world applications is particularly impressive, also his dedication to student growth in unmatched, through discussions and being available for support
I would not recommend taking this guy. All he does is read off slides and make you watch boring videos. He cold calls you randomly during the class so if you get nervous, good luck. Better off taking it with someone else. DON'T TRUST ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS!!
DO NOT TAKE. IDK why he got so many good reviews. he reads off the slides word for word. you can barely understand anything in the lecture because you can't hear him and his accent. there are no assignments available on canvas, class is disorganized. he comes to class with one sheet of paper and a pencil for attendance. not clear with anything.
This professor is not good. I am SHOCKED by how many good reviews he has. He calls on people in class by random which is awful. He also just plays videos and reads off slides. He does not answer emails. The tests are very situational and we do none of that during classes.
Teaching style is truly inspiring and engaging. You have a remarkable ability to break down complex business concepts into practical, easy-to-understand lessons. Your real-world examples and encouragement to think critically have made learning in your class both enjoyable and impactful. Thanks for fostering an environment that motivates us to excel!
takes attendance even though he doesn't do anything but read off slides and play videos the whole lecture, plus he rushes through everything so its not like any of the concepts are being explained well either. does not prepare you well for exams AT ALL, waits till the end of the semester to grade quizzes and team work. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
I agree on the 1/5 and the 5/5 reviews. Classes are mainly YouTube videos and discussions. Prof is a nice guy but horrible with grading anything other than the exams. Study guides are not useful in the slightest. One group project (that he has yet to grade) and three exams with weekly quizzes. 3/5 since the exams aren't too difficult, just annoying
Professor Alamir is an exceptional instructor. I can tell he genuinely care about students success and his passion for teaching is evident in every class, the lessons are always engaging, and the case studies and real world examples he uses help connect theory to practice, I highly recommend taking his class
Alamir was one of the most helpful and instructive Professors I ve ever had, he is not only lucid in his manner of conveying key ideas, but also genuinely cares about his students success, by far my best teacher yet
I'm pretty sure he writes these good reviews himself because they are not true whatsoever. He mumbles, reads off slides, and overall does not teach anything. I am not sure why he even takes attendance if that is the case. He seems like he has no ill intent, but he is definitely the worst professor I have taken in my three years. Don't take him.
Not the greatest lecturer as he was nonchalant when explaining things. As a professor, he doesn't put in much work and treats it pretty casually, expecting most people to pass with effort rather than correctness. Get with a good, communicative group that will help you through the group project, and do the homework and you'll mostly be fine.
While his lectures are him reading word for word off slides, this professor cares about your success. He'll call on you at random but that's to ensure you're grasping the concepts for the exams which comes in handy. 3 exams, weekly quizzes and case studies, with a large (8-12pg) group project at the end. Pretty straight forward class to be honest.
Simple, great teacher. Quiz every week, one group project at the end. However, you cannot hear him talk as he is quiet.
Shocked how many ppl are complaining about being called on at random. If you're paying attention and can answer his question, what is there to complain about? If you're not paying attention, however, I could see how that could be annoying. Disregard those ratings. This dude genuinely cares about his students. I had a great time in his class. Easy B
Horrible professor if you want to learn. He reads off the slides and makes his TA grade his homework and quizzes.
Professor Alamir is exceptional. Their passion makes complex topics easy. Always approachable, patient, and invested in students. Fair assignments, constructive feedback. Rare to find a professor both knowledgeable and inspiring, truly impacting learning.!
He was a great teacher that taught very well and very easy to understand, would take him again!
EASY. Might seem "hands-off" or short on words but that's your advantage. 3 tests, all based DIRECTLY off of easy PPT slides; literally just memorize the PPTs. Calls on students randomly each session but just say literally *anything* related and you're good. HW is short answer docs & Canvas quizzes based on txtbk (find a PDF!). 1 group pres. &paper
He cares. Doesn't try to trick you.
This class so far is very lenient compared to my other classes. He mostly just reads off the PPT and exams are from the PPT. Quizzes every week out of ten based on lectures. He seems really nice and chill however he doesn't grade any of the group assignments and projects we do. Make sure to pick a good group of people to do projects with.
The people that said his exams are based off of the powerpoint were capping. His exams were from the book, not the powerpoint. His quizzes were from the book as well, and his exams were based off of his quizzes. I didn't see a single question on my quizzes from the powerpoint, but saw them in the book. Read the book. It will save you.
He mainly reads off powerpoint slides that are on canvas and has a monotone voice so his lectures are boring. Gives a study guide for exams and the questions are all multiple choice but the averages are 68%-70%, some questions are hard. Homework is just group assignments and canvas quizzes, but he doesn't grade them until the end of the semester.
Shows YouTube videos or reads slides in a low-volume, monotone accent that can be hard to hear in a large class. Your group is everything, including discussing the lecture and case studies in each class, homework, and a project at the end. Large classes don't present the project, and attendance/homework is graded EXTREMELY leniently.
This professor was the worst I have ever had. he is nothing more than a paycheck professor, who makes you do all the work and have YOURSELF teach yourself the material. his accent is most of the time hard to understand. also his layout is total BS and you need to read the book than the ppts and videos. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Alamir was a great professor who explains concepts clearly and genuinely cares about student success. Very organized, approachable, helpful, and fair with grading. I learned a lot and truly enjoyed the class.
