Not the best at teaching calculus, almost everyone in my class doesnt understand the content.
His "lectures" are just him regurgitating the summaries at the end of the chapters, but he doesn't even explain the notes that he's giving us. He hands out worksheets after he's done "lecturing" that don't match the WileyPlus homework or the in-class notes. DEFINATELY avoid him if you want to actually learn or if you really need calculus!!
He is really not that bad. I had no experience in calculus and I am doing just fine in the class (on track to get an A). If you show up, do the homework, and ask questions you will be totally fine. The exams are not bad and are basically the same questions we do in class.
Calculus is not an easy class, but Professor Eze makes it bearable. If you show up to class you will do fine since the exams are very similar to the problems he does in class. The language barrier is not terrible, you just have to pay attention. An easy A if you put in some effort
If you miss class it doesnt matter because he hardly teaches during lecture. The homework is nothing like what was taught in class, and the quizzes and exams are like the homework. The only reason I didnt fail the class was because I read the textbook and took notes on that. When you ask him a question, he doesnt explain things well.
Professor Eze is a super nice guy. If you do the homework and actually try, you should do well. Tests and quizzes are like the homework which is not that hard if you read the book. He is accessible outside of class and is always willing to help me when I am stuck on a problem. Calc isn't easy, but if you put in some work it's not that bad
His lectures arent even lectures, he just writes everything on the board and doesnt explain a thing, basically regurgitates information and then makes us work on group problems that are completely different from what he just "taught" us. He begs us to ask questions but then makes us feel stupid for asking. Absolutely terrible, avoid at all costs !
Professor Eze really cares for our opinion in the class. At first he was heavy in lectures but later made room for more practice in the class. He is willing to help you if you will put in the work. He makes us work in groups which I find helpful
Professor Eze is the nicest professor in the math department. He cares about his students and wants them to do well. In class, he lectures and then gives us time to do problems with small groups which helps prepare you for the homework and exams. He's is available outside of class and is very straightforward, I definitely recommend taking him
nice guy (at times), horrible professor. avoid him !
Professor Eze is a nice professor. If you are looking for easy A, then you should not take his class. He has many office hours and is very accessible outside of class. I go to his office hours and he always help me with any struggle I have
Proffesor Eze is a nice guy. He however expects you to come into his class with a knowledge of calculus. If you havent taken the class before you'll be lost. If you are looking to get an A or gain an understanding of calculus I would take the class with someone else.
He's a really funny prof, great guy, bad teacher. He writes a ton on the board with little to no explanation. To be fair, this was his first year ever teaching, but the man did not understand that not everyone's passion in life is math. Definitely would not recommend unless you already have a strong base in math.
If you attend office hours alot, and if, in class, you complement his lecture with textbook / Google, it'll be an easy A for you. Quiz problems are carried over from homework/classwork/textbook. The difficulty of the course is not dependent on bad teaching, but alotted time. Prepare to dedicate 10 hours a week to this class, on top of office hours.
His teaching style is not the best but this is his first year so he is still learning. His lectures can be confusing, however, if you make the effort to attend office hours or arrange a meeting, he sits down with you and walks you through the math. Exams are WAY easier (as long as you practice and study!) than the class worksheets
I failed calculus with another professor but I am on track to get an A in this class. Yes, I had to work hard for my grade but it is worth it for me. I enjoyed having professor Eze and definitely recommend him if you are willing to put in the work
Very hard to understand. Talks for a while and expects you to grasp the concepts the very first instance. A lot of homework on Wiley+ but only needs 60% on each part to get 100% on that homework.
His lectures are difficult to understand, as he writes on the board and we copy. I wish there was more explanation or direction. This class moves fast, make sure you do the homework and teach yourself the material. However he is quite caring and is understanding if you have an issue. Not sure I would take him again, but he wasn't that bad.
Avoid him!!! he is the worst professor in this school! You cannot understand anything he says. He thinks that you know the material and does not teach. He does not care if you do not understand the material and does not answer your questions when you ask them. He is super rude and just does not teach good so just pick another teacher!
please dont take this class if you need a lot of guidance. someone with previous knowledge of calculus might be fine, but honestly even then theres better professors. eze doesnt explain well and doesnt make any sense. hes a nice guy but that doesnt make him a good teacher. students often correct him. i wish i never took his class.
professor Eze always answers my question thoroughly during the office hours. Although more explanation could help during lectures but he is still figuring out a lot of things and hopefully will do better in this area. He genuinely cares for his students to do well but there is a lot of work too
don't get me wrong, eze is a super nice guy. definitely not the best teacher though. would not recommend unless you're a natural at math. if you do get him, just pray you get a good SI because that's the only thing getting me through this class.
He is really nice but lectures can be confusing at times and he doesn't really teach properly, just expects you to understand. I would recommend going to his office hours because he's a lot more helpful there! Compared to other calc profs, he is an easy grader and gives A LOT of partial credit. The class is do-able! Go to class, it'll help you!
Professor Eze was one of my favorite professors this year. There was one quiz every week but you work in groups of 2-3 so they are easy As. Do the homework and you will be fine. He gave plenty of free points on quizzes and tests. Very caring guy and overall would take again.
My saving grace was the textbook. If you can teach yourself from it, you'll be fine. His lectures are ok but he goes super fast and makes everyone feel stupid for asking questions (this was a class wide issue). Generous grader w partial credit. Easy partner quizzes each week, but cannot take constructive criticism for the life of him
Professor Eze clearly wants us to succeed in this class. He gives out group quizzes which are easy to deal with and the Test follows the same pattern as the review. I had some issues and he was willing to help me. He lectures and then let us solve problems in groups and checks in with each group with the SI
Take Eze!!! We have quizzes every week, but his lectures are not that bad; he has so many office hours every day! He is super nice I do not understand why he has so many bad reviews. Take him!!!
Professor Eze is incredibly nice, he tries his best for us to succeed. Gives out weekly GROUP quizzes which are really easy. The exams are just like the review. I would honestly recommend him for MATH 131. Not sure why his reviews aren't the best, the other math 131 professors aren't as good. Just put the effort in!
Professor Eze is kind, caring, nice and makes sure to answer any questions thoroughly before moving on. This class is pretty straight forward too! You show up and do the work and test questions are like review problems. Professor is always there to help. One of my favorite professors so far!!!! take him.
Very solid professor. he seems a bit shy, and his voice is a bit low when he explains things but when you ask him he will take all the time to make sure you understand. Weekly group quizzes are so easy. Exams are super straightforward. If you study the review sheet you will ace the exam. he also drops lowest quiz score. Overall, great professor.
Eze is super cool, if you do the homework and actually pay attention in class you'll do well. Lectures can be a bit difficult to follow sometimes so if you have questions ask them, seriously. Extremely helpful and the tests follow the review super closely, so use them to study.
If you are willing to put in work to go to class and do the homework then take him. Weekly group quizzes, online Wiley homework each week, 2 midterms, & cumulative final. He goes quickly through notes and depends on worksheets to teach material. Not the best at answering questions. Do the review guide and you'll do great on the exams.
goes really fast without a lot of explanation so you have to take notes on everything. tests are just like review but he doesn't explain how to do review just gives answers. weekly partner quizzes. do the homework it helps so much. doable class and nice prof - just put in the work if you want to do well
Professor Eze is great overall. I am leaving with solid understanding of calculus and on track to get an A. He can be a bit low sometimes. Professor is caring and tries his best to make sure we understand the topic and also do well. I would take him again
Good luck if you take his class. Youre going to dread it. He often gets confused by even his own work. There is quite a bit of a language barrier so he often does not understand the question that he is being asked, therefore you do not get an answer. Almost all of my notes are incomplete because he skips around. My class went from 28 kids to 13
I wish I dropped him! The only reason why I survived his class was because I took it in high school. He assumes that you already know the material and never shows his work. Students often had to correct HIS answers both in class and on review packet answer keys. Do yourself a favor and AVOID HIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!
A great professor, helped me pass calculus when I have previously struggled immensely. He has good lectures, if you ask questions and do homework it is an easy B+
Great guy and all round great professor. Straight cut class. Go to class as it helps and ask any questions and he is willing to stop and clear any confusion before moving on. I found the class not to be boring as I work with other students on problems from the chapter covered in lectures. Easy group weekly quizzes and lowest score gets dropped.
I wish I could take him for other math classes. Most caring professor who wants you to succeed. Just ask him and he is willing to give accommodation. Absolutely recommend and he is one of my best professors so far!!!
overall I think he explained things well. There is a lot of material to cover in this class. He tries his best and goes over and beyond to make sure we succeed. He only gives solutions to review problems and not step by step solutions but walks over the whole problem with you if you struggle at all with it. This helped me prepare for the midterms.
I think Mr Eze is a good professor, but I do find his teaching methods somewhat very confusing. I think he could definitely be better if he had different ways of approaching some problems. Also, a lot of his homework is online connect and some things we don't cover in class so you have to learn some things yourself as well.
Professor Eze had a confusing teaching style. It is difficult to learn in this course if you don't have much outside knowledge on the subject. He was very helpful outside of class and worked with me to get my grade up so I would pass the class. I would hate to take the class again however this professor did help me pass.
I would not recommend Prof Eze, he's a very nice guy but just not great at teaching. He often confuses the class with his explanations and examples and often gets mixed up when doing problems on the board. Exams are exactly like the study guide and lots of group work during class which is nice. Wouldn't take if you aren't good at math already.
He helped me more in the office hours as I am a one on one type of person when learning maths. I also had plenty opportunities to work with class mates every week. Lectures may move fast but if you have any questions just ask and he will take all the time to make sure you understand. Also go to office hours if you struggle it helps a lot!!!
One of my fav math profs. He is always available to meet for extra help. Ignore the ratings that say there are "language barriers", he speaks fluent English and I've never had a problem understanding him. Generous grader and as long as you do the homework you will pass. This is his second year teaching.
Professor Eze was super accessible outside of class but could not always answer the questions asked. He lectures the majority of the course then comes around while we do groupwork...His quizzes were always partner quizzes and he reviewed for a week before every exam! His lectures were super boring but the group work helps.
I'm not good at math & he was a great prof. Balance of lecture and groupwork. Sent out anon surveys mid-sem to see if we wanted any changes w his teaching. group quizzes, 3 tests, cumulative final. he realized a problem on a test was confusing before he gave it out and gave us all the pts for it. take him!!
This class is an easy A as long as you're comfortable teaching yourself most of the material. The concepts are easy but Eze overcomplicates explanations and skips entire parts of the lesson. He often teaches us how to do stuff in our heads rather than teaching us the actual formula which is frustrating. Class is a 15min lecture then group work.
i love professor eze, but sometimes he rushes through lectures and doesn't explain things clearly. however, you can always go to him after class to clear things up and groupwork/quizzes makes the material much more possible to learn.
What I loved most about Eze is that I can ask questions freely both in class and office hours. He is also super caring. This class is an easy A if you will apply yourself well enough in the class by going to class, doing homework and asking questions. Definitely recommend!!!
People either like or dislike Eze. I enjoyed taking Eze because of the way he structured class. Starts with a short lecture, then a worksheet with your group for the rest of class. We would be out of class before it ended. Very easy grader, not the best at giving lectures as he is not always clear. As long as you can teach yourself you are good.
his lectures started out a bit unorganized, and he didn't show his work much, but as the class went on, he seemed to get much better. I also love how he assigns so much group work ; it's very helpful. Fairly easy A if you pay attention and read the chapters before class.
Very caring professor and easy A if you go to class and do homework.
He definitely cares for his students, but his lectures are scattered and his explanations are confusing, because he will get confused and mess up on examples then need to go back to correct it. He is very willing to meet for office hours. You definitely need to know how to teach yourself the material. I wouldn't take him again but he is very nice.
Eze is one of the most caring professors I've met. His lectures are certainly sometimes hard to follow and his notes on the board aren't the easiest thing to understand, but at the end of each lecture he gives like 30 minutes to do practice problems and he's always willing, and even eager, to help out. And each quiz is a group quiz.
Your grade is based on two other exams besides the final, a couple of group quizzes which were pretty tough, and homework on WileyPlus that is worth extra credit. His lectures were kind of all over the place and sometimes he was quite confusing to the point he would even confuse himself. Very nice guy but not the best professor.
I love Eze. calculus is hard but he makes it very bearable and this is coming from someone that dreaded math.
If I could give a -100 I would (no offense). His lectures were hard to follow and he always messed up on his own problems. This was very confusing for the students. He also was unhelpful when you would ask him questions because his explanations make 0 sense. His tests seem almost too long for the amount of time you have. HW is xtra credit tho.
He is a very nice professor! But his lectures were awful. They were very unclear and he would make frequent mistakes. He would show up, write numbers on the board, not explain where they came from and then we would do group work. Homework was ec but he assigns a lot of it and its hard! You'd be better off taking someone else!!
His lectures were sort of hard to follow ngl. He appreciates when you put in some effort into learning the material and gives ec for hw. Btmline: very nice and knowledgeable on the subject but could use different approaches to teaching. Go to class it will help you and go to office hours if you struggle at all. He is super helpful in those
Grade is based on two midterms, group quizzes and a final. Hw was ec. He seems to enjoy teaching the subject and is super caring for his students!!!
Super nice guy, but it is so hard to understand him. He messes up all the time in lectures, and just writes examples on the board the whole time without explaining the topic or what he's doing. If you're not good at math, don't take him. You'll just be super frustrated and you'll end up teaching yourself the entire class.
He is very sweet and nice but he does not have a good approach to teaching. You basically have to teach yourself. All his exam reviews are very similar to the exams. Can only have 3 unexcused absences. Hard to keep track of your grade during the class(his grading is weird) so you don't really know what your grade is until finals.
Lectures can be a bit confusing, but he's open to questions and often can answer any confusions you have. What he teaches is whats on the test. Pretty solid class.
He is nice and makes the class not be a big deal. if you don't have any outside knowledge on calc maybe take someone else. But if you have, then take him. 30 minute lectures, that can be a little confusing and fast, group 2-3 question quizzes, exam which are exactly like the review and homework that is super easy. He does have a bit of an accent
Professor Eze was extremely hard to follow in every lecture. His work on the whiteboard was continuously incorrect or had lack of sequence. He was very nice, but his lectures were all over the place. This class was extremely group work based which made no sense to me as taking a group quiz in math is not realistic.
Professor Eze was a great professor to have. I wasn't the best at Math, but thanks to him and his system I was able to ace it. He might be confusing at first, but after a couple of weeks, you get the hang of it if you pay attention in class and do your homework.
You're only graded by two exams, the final, and your quizzes (which are weekly on Thursdays). All homework is extra credit, but his lectures make no sense at all
He does go really fast in lectures but all quizzes are taken as a group with other students. Exams are not horrible, he posts past exams with solutions which are very useful to study. Uses Wiley for homework, just not a super interesting teacher but it'll work for sure.
His exams are pretty straight forward and fair game, and whenever they aren't, they get curved generously. He also gives a good amount of extra credit, and a reasonable amount of hw. However, in his lectures, he went too fast through his explanations, and made mistakes in his problems at times.
Eze is a good prof. You only have two midterms, weekly group quizzes, and Wiley homework (if you get at least a 60 it is rounded to an 100). Tests are curved generously. His lectures are confusing, you will have to teach yourself a lot. Nice guy, just not the best explainer. if you have never taken a calc class before, you might struggle a little
Very unorganized and confusing lectures but gives extra credit for attendance and generously curves exams. There are 2 midterms and he allows you to do test corrections on one of them which can boost your grade like crazy. The second midterm is considerably easier than the first. I hate math but ask questions, put in the work, and you can get an A.
I know many people try to avoid having him, but he's a great backup. Honestly, it was easy to learn for me, but I know people who aren't getting it and get 50s on exams and have a B in this class. The curve is nice, and he's honestly so sweet. Go to SI and you wont need to do anymore than that.
The class started out without clear expectations and this was confusing but it got better through the semester. Eze cares for his students. Office hours and SI session was super helpful for me in this class
I struggle with math, so I can't self-teach material very well, and although he was really nice and understanding, he was just super difficult to follow. His handwriting was hard for me to read, and he would mumble into the board while explaining how to solve things. I feel bad because he's sweet, but I definitely needed more support to do well.
He is a nice knowledgeable professor, but the point does not reach the students. He is very hard to follow and is disorganized. He did conduct a survey in the middle of the semester where there was some improvements in his teaching but it slowly started to go back to how it was. 2 exams, can make corrections on 1 exam, weekly quizzes and homework.
I excel in math, so I didn't have a difficult time. Others had trouble probably because the class is fast paced and you learn something new each class, but the content all ties together. His accent is understandable, but his lectures are a little cluttered. He is self-aware of his students understanding/lack of and will adapt to that in lectures.
Lecture was a bit hard to follow but his slides and practice questions were very helpful. Gives extra credit and good study guides, and he was very nice.
He obviously knows what he is talking about and is very knowledgable, but I don't necessarily think that he knows how to explain concepts to students super well in lecture. His accent really isn't that bad, quizzes are group quizzes, but it isn't an easy class. His practice exams do look like the exams which is nice.
Obviously HE knows what he's talking about, but he's not good at explaining it to students. He stands directly in front of the whiteboard as he's writing so you can't see what he's talking about until he moves. He lectures solely from memory, so sometimes he makes mistakes/misspeaks while explaining how to complete a problem.
Very knowledgeable and tests reviews are very similar to tests so you can actually learn without worrying so much about the tests and quizzes are taken in groups which is very helpful. however this is not an easy class but asking questions in class and going to office has helped a lot!!
If you have no other option, or better options, go for it. You'll definently live. Expect to self teach alot. The book was extremely helpful this semester. Kind of something you gotta get used to doing in college anyway.
Super chill class. Quizzes are all group quizzes and all exams are almost identical to the study guides he hands out. His lectures on the blackboard are kind of hard to follow, so you kind of have to teach yourself or just ask him questions. He is super kind and willing to explain any questions you ask!
He's an okay guy but his test are full of trick questions. They are not very similar to his practice exams. His lectures aren't very coherent most of the time because he lectures for 10 minutes then speeds through practice problems on the board. Most people walk out of his class early. Group quizzes aren't too bad.
I love Dr. Eze he is not just knowledgeable on the subject but is also patient whenever you have any confusion. Calc is hard but he makes it bearable
Dr. Eze is a good option. His lectures can be hard to follow sometime but the group work and wiley hw are very helpful. Quizzes are in groups and exams are just like the study guide he gives. If you have good attendance you also get a percent boost at the end. If you genuinely try in his class you'll be fine.
can explain things really fast and sometimes his explanations are a little confusing, but he is always willing to help reexplain things. also, there are so many videos on all the lecture topics that you can look up on youtube
His class is hard because calc 2 is inherently hard. However if you study a good amount and thoroughly understand the concepts you can do well in this class. He has group quizzes which are somewhat hard. His tests are at a medium difficulty. Do lots of practice problems! I taught myself, and didn't really understand his lecture. He is helpful tho.
Only need 60% on WP homework for full credit and gives out some extra credit throughout the semester. Difficult to see tiny chalk writing on the board and is always clearing phlegm from his throat when talking. It's clear he knows what he's talking about, but can get lost when explaining. Take this class if you're okay teaching yourself.
if you arent already pretty good with precalc id take someone else, talks very fast in class and has an accent so if thats an issue for you id be weary. hes very nice but likes things to be formal so make sure you write good emails when asking for assistance or extensions, he will usually grant them though. quizzes are done in groups so thats nice
Professor Eze is so nice and always wants to help. Gives group work the last 30 minutes of class based on the lecture and is walking around asking if anyone needs help. He is also willing to round grades which was so clutch because I had a 79.95% and decided to send him an email asking to round and he did!
