His lectures are confusing and the test do not correlate. DO NOT TAKE HIM! If you are stuck with him now- it's okay! I have some words of advice- if you go see him during office hours he will review with you what you don't understand! He is an ex ****!

This class was extremely bizarre. He is a very intimidating person. He was a cop before becoming a teacher, so he'll try to use intimidating things to say or looks. His semester paper for this class took way too much of my time...for nothing!

Dr. Newkirk is very hard to follow and doesn't offer much direction in his class at all. He didn't like to help explain in our class and he was overall the worst teacher I've ever had.

I have attended 4 JC's for different subjects and he is, by far, the WORST professor I have had at an of them!!! He gets mad over absolutely nothing. NO ONE in our class passed. The absolute WORST teacher I have ever had. Out of 40 students, only 2 of us were left at the end of the semester. I even complained to the Dean about him, but he'll never get fired. Unclear, rude, ****, and very bitter about teaching instead of doing research. Needs to retire ASAP.

He said he worked as a firearms instructor at the police academy and that his students, both in firearms and in statistics, have been outstanding in their fields. His lectures are not about the material. He has 2 hour lectures and without the tangents or the stories about himself he probably lectures for half an hour tops. His test questions want every specific detail of even the least important topic. You have to ignore him completely and memorize the book if you want to pass this class with this instructor
