Excellent instructer. pretty easy if you pay attention and study.Some things mite seem hard. Very helpful. I took this class instead of Eng 103 for critical thinking. I'm so glad that i did.

if u saw this guy on the street u would know he was a professor! no test just quizes.... lots of puzzles and small homework assignments. he tells some lame jokes! weeeeeeeeeeee!

Good guy. Good professor. Do the small amount of homework he assigns, and you'll be fine. All my tests have been open-book so-far. Not difficult at all if you're not an idiot.

mr. call is a good teacher. he may be a bit boring but very helpful! he is willing to help you if you don't understand. make sure you do all the homework and get A's and B's on the puzzles and homework.

Class is boring most the time however, the subject "ethics" doesnt scream fun either. So if you take be prapared to listen to him for an hour plus. He gives a decent amount of HW. Keep up and you'll get a good grade. The final was an essay and pretty easy. Hard subject to understand (the reading).

I took Professor Call's class online. I really enjoyed the weekly chats. The homework is fair, not too much. The subject was a little tough for me at times, but I really enjoyed his way of teaching. Would take him again.

AWESOME CLASS! I got so much out of. PS u can be tardy and it doesn't count against you. Just be prepared to stand up in front of the class. He likes discussion. But don't worry. If ur good at B-S-ing then u'll do fine. Bery little homework and the tests are easy.

He is a really nice teacher. This is the only philosophy teacher you should take because he's very concerned when it comes to his students. If you don't understand he'll walk you through it until you do. VERY HELPFUL!

Very good teacher. He has a good understanding of what he teaches, and challenges his students to expand their thinking. He does tend to explain concepts in technical language which may make it difficult to fully understand, but he does try to help any student who needs help or further explanations. Friendly easygoing demeanor. Recommended!

Sweet, sweet guy. A little monotonous and if you're not careful, you can get him on a serious tanent. Nevertheless the class was enjoyable, work was DEFINITELY enough to get you thinking. Philosphy of logic is a hard class if you dont get it, and this class is either a get it or dont kind of class. But the teacher is great. He really knows what he is doing and is pretty fnny in a semi corny kind of way. Take the class if you understand logic.

Loved him. His logic class was very interesting. He's a very nice person and does his best to help. Tests are fairly easy. Homework assigned is long but easy if you pay attention. Mathematic like skills are needed. I would reccommend him any day. Take him if you really want to learn.

For having such an uninteresting topic, he made the class slightly more entertaining in his own corny way. He brings up good points and counter points and is very open minded. However, the best part to this guy's class: tests are open note open book.

I took his online class during summer, and it was OK. One paper for mid-term. In-class-essay for final. Reading quizes are not so hard. You have to participate in discussion board or chat to get points. Don't forget to write short essays responding to the textbook.

Mr.Call does a good job teaching a very boring subject. His voice can be a little boring, and his jokes are corny, but he makes his students a priority, and will go over whatever you need him to if you just see him during his office hours. Strongly recommend to satisfy your critical thinking requirement

He was awesome! The material he was teaching was out there, so he was a good teacher. He was very clear and gave you opportunity to have some extra credit. I loved him. He's very nice.

Online class. Do yourself a favor and DON'T GET BEHIND ON ASSIGNMENTS or you will be sorry. Essays are graded based on your writing skills-if you write poorly or cannot spell properly, expect a poor grade. Overall, not a difficult class as long as you keep up with everything.

good class, it was funny cause on the 1st day of class he made us to get up to introduce ourselves and most of the class left and never came back. he is ok, he sounds kinda boring, but he make the material very clear. a lot of homework, and gotta do it in order to pass.

Proessor call is an extremely helpful, kindhearted professor who will go out of his way to highten your comprehension. He is even willing to make appointments for students who have busy schedules. He is truly passionate about philosophy and broadening the minds of all of his students. Not overly challenging, a truly enjoyable class :)

hes a great teacher especially for such a ridiculus class i dont understand the importance of it but with that being said it is a great and easy class taking it with him just make sure you do the assignments and your set he gives great help and the quizes and test are open book and open notes!!

He is also one of the most engaged professors I've ever had in an online class (and I've taken a lot). The subject is boring and difficult but this professor is perfect for it. He is a nerd, but he is very kind and has a lame sense of humor which is surprisingly funny. He does his best to teach his students and uses puzzles to try to make it more interesting. Daily book/handout exercises and occasional quizzes. Unpleasant subject, pleasant teacher.

I took his class online during summer school, needless to say I worked my butt off. The class was a little heavy on religion but over all ok. He is a good teacher and very clear in expectations. If you are lazy and don't read the text this is not the class for you. Lots of reading and writing on Socrates.

Hes awesome! He does well explaining the material if you don't understand it. Hes funny in his own nerdy way. I liked coming to class everyday, very interesting subject. He makes you think differently. I took Phil 106 after this because he was such a good teacher. If you have to take Logic, take it with Call, best professor for this subject.

Professor Call is a brilliant professor. If you love or are intrigued by philosophy, you will appreciate his teaching methods. Professor Call helps you analyze the different arguments and theories so in order to keep up you need to read the material and make sure that you have a clear understanding of the work at hand.

Prof. Call was a great teacher. Clear and does not hesitate to answer any questions as long as you ask. Can be on the monotone side when lecturing but makes jokes and keeps a mellow mood in class. Easy just make sure to attend and ask questions if your confused. Gives a lot of easy assignments so its hard to fall behind. Highly Recommend.

class/teacher is very straight forward in what he wants in class. took online. this was a hard subject for me but still managed to pass with a B. lots of reading and weekly assignments and essays but teacher didnt have strict deadlines to turn in. dont get behind through and u will pass.

Call is great, but if you lack cognitive skills, or can't sit still and pay attention you will struggle. He is a wealth of knowledge and gives honest, straight forward criticisms that are surprisingly blunt, and immensely useful. My writing has never been criticized before, but because of his honesty as a true teacher, I am a better student.

Call is an excellent teacher. I took his Great Religions of the World class and I truly enjoyed it. Call is a no b.s teacher. His class is hard. You can't b.s your way through this one. His class discussions were thought provoking and intrigued me to get check pluses and A's on my workbooks. If only I took him for Intro To Phil instead of J. Malley

Excellent teacher and one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. I only recommend this class for extreme math magicians or else you will fail miserably. I knew a lot of people who failed the class and I passed it with an easy A. The homework is fun and he is an adorable person. Final is worth 40% of your grade.

really good class! had ws for hw. hw is everyday. mandatory or else you will fail!and then a presentation on a chapter and had to lead a discussion. mandatory! have to say i was dreading the presentation. but actually it wasnt so bad. have no test! just an essay for the final. Took intro to phil online. Very manageable. Not a lot of assignments. Every weeks theres a short multiple choice assignment that is directly from 1 of 3 books that you need to read. 3 essays throughout the course which he provides feedback on. The reading can get mundane because they're translated, old world texts. Just read thouroughly.

For his honors class, write your short essays and have him look them over first. His lectures always lead in someway back to religion. Speak out in class, participation is a big part of the grade. No tests.

Call's class was run like a seminar, so there was no lecture-ever. Lot of reading, homework assignments every session, and the final was an in-class essay. Overall, it wasn't the best, but it was an easy A. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPEAKING DURING DISCUSSIONS!

Very easy. You basically read the whole book in 20 page incriminates. Workbook page due every class that's easy and answers are from the book. Class is run like a seminar and you have to lead seminar with prepared questions one section. Extra credit is offered if you visit a place that practices religion. Highly recommend Call over Saldaña

He's really smart and takes time with his students. He wants you to learn. You need the book, you need to be punctual and don't miss too many days or he will drop you. Lots of homework, but doesn't average in the lowest 3 homework grades, and gives you an opportunity for extra credit. Be on time, do your homework, easy A. Fun class too!

Although I'm an international student who doesn't speak English well, but he was so nice and helpful ! Just do the workbook every single time, read the book before you go to class, and there's no tests except final essay.. Don't miss the class too much, otherwise he'll drop you.

don't take Symbolic Logic unless you are one of those analytical thinkers, great at math and spotting patterns! Mr. Call is a super chill and compassionate guy. that being said, good luck teaching yourself this class. He will answer questions you may have. i recommend befriending a student that's succeeding to help you! he takes attendance everyday

I loved this class. If you're interested in philosophy, I would recommend this course. Professor Call is very knowledgeable, and really makes you think about things. Sometimes he gets off on tangents during discussions, but he has a lot of valuable information. He's a great guy, and was my favorite professor this term.

Fair grader. I recommend you get into the course or else you will find it boring as everyone else. homework is on the chapters you read. Final is an Essay in which there are over 40 prompts. EASY. 3 Tests that are based on the homework chapter EASY. so study the HW. also 20 % of the grade is when YOU lecture the course. I like call, hes a nice guy
