good teacher and practice tests online are great....i would recommend but i think he changed his test format...he used to allow you to use your book on the tests....

One of the best teachers at SRJC. Very organized, gives several extra credit opportunities, easy to follow lectures, and can crack a mean joke. His online tests help out a lot, he puts about 15+ of those questions on the real test. Highly recommended, especially Human Sexuality, that's a fun class.

This class is a sure A if you are commited to getting your work done on time and doing extra credit (which he doesn't announce) he gives you all the tool sofr sucess including a webpage devoted to your success! It's up to you to pass, and his humour will help you there.

You will walk out of every one of Dr. Manninno's lectures with life tips. I so want to try the sex class now, lol.

This man will ask a lot from you; please do not miss more then 3 classes. He is very hard and he plays no games. If you want an easy ride look somewhere else, but I learned more from him then any other Psych teacher.

This class is an easy A. However he makes you buy a workbook that is a waste of money because everything in the workbook is in the main book. And neither book can be sold back so you'll be out 120. The lectures sound just like he's reading from the book so if you do the reading there is no need to take notes or even pay attention in class.

a very enjoyable/interestingn class. he provided many resources online and in the sylabus so you are never left in the dark. test questions are taken almost entirely from the book and he lets you use your books for the tests. he keeps the lectures interesting. its not hard to get a good grade in his class.

Tough class and yes big big ego, but has lots of experience and if you show up and show respect he will give it back. Hard to ask questions, sometimes scary, He thinks he is never wrong and sometimes he is oh well go to class and do the work act respectfull, not like your still in high school and you will do fine.

He's a very nice guy and only asks for respect. Although slide show lecture isn't the most helpful, all test questions are found easily in text material. Also practice quizzes online are a must- gives half the answers right away. Learned way more than expected. Great professor.

I love taking classes from this teacher whether it is online or in class. He is funny and makes the information fun. He is very detailed in explaining the course material and is very helpful and prompt when a student is in need! Take this teacher!!!

Very organized teacher. I enjoyed being in the 200+ student lecture. Tests were open book and always mult. choice. Was efficient with emails and always updated students. Fun class with great material!

I liked this guy. There was hardly any work, I didn't read and passed the multiple choice tests, and I liked being in a huge lecture environment. He has an attitude but that's cool as long as he isn't picking on me. Great teacher for psych 1a!

This was one of the tougher courses I've taken. Course is taught by a very dedicated, interesting, and thoughtful professor.Quite abit of fun too. He has writtem many books, some not cheap, but to me sign of a real legit professor in my mind. He teaches psych with the aim of helping make it through life with joy versus struggle. Top Notch!

Very nice guy. I liked the way he worked his humor in with his PowerPoint presentations. Those were particularly helpful and got the message across very well. He's a funny guy but unfortunately, he can't be everyone's friend as his classes are "large lecture hall" style. The website was very helpful too. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

BORING! If anyone can make a sex class boring it's mannino. The tests are easy if you look at the practice tests but the classes are monotonous and you have to sign in at the end of each class.

Dr. Mannino is very knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to he field of psychology. I liked learning from someone who actually knew what they were talking about and had relevant sotries to tell. great presentations and lots of videos. He's not very good at addressing student questions though. Easy exams, simple assignments, fair grading.

Mannino is really full of himself, but the class is really interesting, and he's good at teaching it. He does talk about himself alot, and how great he thinks he is, but I'd say it's worth it.

I enjoyed his class. I like the power point teaching because I am familiar with it. He has a good sense of humor, but i hear he has a nasty side.

He's an easy teacher, if you study. That's all that is required, study! Take notes on the lectures, think about the concepts that are being taught (this might be a new one to some of you), and just have fun. 4 tests which are easy (once again, if you study). He has personal opinions, which may or may not conflict with your views, so lighten up.

Mannino may have an ego, but his lessions are very valuable. He wrote the books for his courses, so if you read the books and take notes then you will pass the class easily. It's not a tough course, just don't be a wise-ass or he'll cut you down in front of the whole class. I enjoyed his classes a lot, his life stories are amusing as well.

I took the three week online course, better known as "the three weeks of hell". It was a very difficult class but Dr. M made it very enjoyable. I cannot stress enough about how important it is to read over the online guide and throughly check out the entire book(s). all the answers you need are in there.

This class was one of the easiest A's I got all semeseter. If you show up do the sections in the book and practice for the test there is no way you can fail.

Well, of course the class was extremely interesting. I mean, it's human sexuality. Mannino was very informative, but he really does have an enormous ego. He does a lot of name-dropping and mentions his education constantly. However, I enjoyed the class. It was easy and interesting material. If you can get over his narcissism, it isn't all that bad.

I was kind of surprised to see some of the nasty things this website said about Dr. Mannino. I found him, well-dressed, polished, academic, helpful and very well informed. I took his online 1A class. Very interesting information and texts, but you have to purchase his book and turn in the original worksheets (can't sell it back to bookstore). I felt that as a teacher he was bored, and if you didn't make your essays entertaining enough for him, he wouldn't give you an A, even if it met all the criteria.

Dr Mannino has a fair professor who teaches a great online class. His website is clear, easy to use and one of the best I've used---and I would know. His self-written textbook is a bit bulky and messy, but his teaching style, in the human sexuality class at least, is very entertaining and informative. He had an online survey for each student to fill out when class started and I was pleased to see that some of the suggestions I offered in there were incorporated into the class.

I just got my grade from Dr. Mannino's death and dying class and I was pleased. While not an A I felt it was what I deserved. He wrote one of the books that my mother evens loved. The workload is harder than most, but you get more out of it than most. He also gives you power of what grade you want by telling what needs to be done

I'm a nurse who took his Death and Dying class for CE credit for my license renewal. He is one of the few licensed continuing education providers at the entire SRJC. Class was surprisingly good. Hisi textbook is nationally known [it is in our hospital library]. Wonderful experience, well worth the time. Highly endorse him.

I took the three week accelerated class. If you are thinking about this section, think carefully, it is intense. I thought it was worth it though. Dr. Mannino is great.

Great teacher! Very understanding an grades on a curve. I would recommend taking the course in the classroom, though. You miss out on a lot during the online class.

A class with a lot of reading & more writing required, along with research. Difficult, but interesting class considering the subject matter. The teacher is very fair, but requires a lot of work to be done. Dr. Mannino is VERY communicative, responsive to questions and concerns. You always know where you stand in the class and grade-wise.

Pluses: readings about STDs, gender (cultural, biological and psychological issues); teacher's obvious sincerity. Negatives: a fair amount of busy work involved in writing: higher weighting for quantity than quality! Must be painful for the reader, too. Overall, recommend teacher and course.

Dr. Mannino knows the material very well and expects his students to do the homework assignments required. Although this online class had quite a bit of work, if you do it and study for the tests, it is hard to get less than a B. He is very fair with grading and will drop questions from the tests if a majority of students do not get them right.

I really liked Dr. Mannino's class. It was online, so I only met him once. He is a reasonable person and very smart. I took a summer course so it was very fast paced. Tough, but not impossible. I worked my rear end off and got an A.

Dr Mannino's class was very challenging but rewarding. I chose to take Psych to fulfill GE requirements but I am so glad I did, because now I have a greater understanding of the field, and Dr Mannino is an excellent teacher. He is knowledgeable and experienced in this field, and he expects hard work from all of his students.

mannino is a good teacher, he knows what hes talking about and is available to help you. if you read the book and make an effort to learn the content you'll receive a good grade . i took the online class and it was very easy once i read the book, homework is based mainly on word count and theres only 4 tests .. i highly reccomend this class!

Failed his class, took another prof who was so dreadful I went and dropped it and then retook Dr. Mannino's class again. I must say he is really good. He mentioned in class that 2009 he's been a Psychologist licensed in California for 30 years. It shows---real good prof. Take the best, work hard, and you'll get both a good grade and actually learn!

I just finished class with this Dr, this past Summer, 2008. He's a "tough old bird," but thoroughly good, decent, and passionate about his teaching and his students. Again not easy, but you will be better for having taken him. Good use of technology and website is tops.

i took this class in 3 weeks over the summer online! it was a lot of work and very time consuming! Don't take this class if you have a life! it will consume you! But it was nice to complete this class in only 3 weeks, the teacher was very helpful and knows the subject well.

He offers so much extra credit and helpful tools for studying. He tries to be really generous in grading and always teaches info that can help you in the real world. I've enjoyed his class!

If you use the online book version in the test book that lists the pratice tests and complete 20 points of extra credit, the class is a simple A. The tests are difficult, you only need to sit for 3 of 4, throws out lowest grade, and offers plenty of extra credit. Use the online source for test questions. They come directly from there.

The class is amaizing! Dr. Mannino is funny, easy to listen to, and the information is intriguing! Only suggestions are sit in front, don't take during the fall, (too many high schoolers talking through lecture) and utilize the online test bank! With extra credit easy A

I really enjoyed this class. It was in a big lecture hall, so lots of taking notes. The tests were pretty hard and made up most of the grades. He does offer lot's of extra credit. I plan to take him again next semester for Human Sexuality. He is super cool!

simple class. Mannino is a big softy, you gotta be a complete idiot to fail. No offense, but he gives huge amounts of E.C. and his exams are cake. barely read the text, got an A. You have to buy the psychaide, but you don't really have to read it....just need it for the written portions of the exams. dedicated man, email friendly. lecture hall.

He's a great psych teacher. I was extremely interested the whole time. He even spoiled us with some lectures from his human sexuality class! He gives SO much extra credit, and the tests are fairly simple if you study. Definitely take his course, you'll be glad you did.

I absolutely love Dr. Mannino's classes. While his classes are difficult, he makes that perfectly clear from the beginning. Any of my stress moments were because I wasn't watching the schedule. Super Good! Dr Mannino has been teaching online classes since 1999 --- yes a decade --- and it shows. One of the best of 12 online classes I've taken. Anyone on this website who puts him down clearly was a poor student or got a poor grade. Just look at the dozens and dozens of plus ratings. Let that guide you.

There may be better professors, but in my four semesters here at SRJC, I have not found them. Dr. Mannino is one of the better. Written five books, been in the real world, and seems to knows his stuff.

There is a big difference between this professor's online classes and his large lecture load classes. Nearly everyone loves him "in person," but not so much online. Take his big lecture hall class! It is not just super easy but also very intriguing and self fullfilling! He gives excellent lectures and loves to answer personal questions. Also if you like to just sit back and relax to an informative movie, you will see quite a lot of those. Hint: take the online practice exams ;).

He's an excellent teacher and a really nice guy. He can get a little bit dry at times during lecture, but then he opens the class to discussion and it becomes alot more enjoyable. He's really smart too, how often can you say the professor your taking your class from also wrote the textbook and workbook? A+ teacher.

Don't take his online class. Really, don't. From what I hear, his classes are amazing and fun and easy. His online class was extremely difficult and time consuming (much more time is spent sitting at your computer than the time you'd spend in the regular class.) The tests are almost impossible. Amazing teacher, I'd take him again, just not online!

Mannino's class was very enjoyable, it went far beyond what was in the text book.

Contrary to previous posts, I loved his online class. Dr M, is a very knowledgeable porfessor.Dr M's classes are worth the effort,I learned a lot from this class about myself and life. Be prepared to write a lot and look deep into yourself, fear of self analysis and what you will find will be hindering in this class.

This was a rock solid great class. Considering professor had 236 students in this large lecture hall AND no TA, it was all the more amazing how good he was. Highly recommend. Also good showman.

His lectures are usually interesting and funny, lots of movies easiest class workload:4 exams (non-cumulative) 2 are open book.You can drop one exam grade or opt out of last of the 4 exams if you are happy with your grade.Very little hw, and only 4 sm "reaction papers" w/ exams. plus he adorable! I recommend him!

one of the easiest psychology classes you will ever attend to. Which also tend to be very interesting. i have many friends who take PSYCH 1A with a diffrent teacher, and they always tell me that they have to write essays. NOT in Mannino's class. Do his online HW and his 1 pg response for the test.

This was a very decent hard working professor. Wrote the textbooks and knew the subject well. Recommend without reservations. Kind of refreshing to see a professor in a suit every class.

Interesting person. He is pretty strict about staying for the full time and using any electronics during class. Would rather have learned material than have class stopped every 5-10 minutes due to someone using their laptop or cell phone. Otherwise he has a dry sense of humor and knows his stuff.

Very funny & a lovely person in class, but rude in emails.. Had surgery & missed a test, he wouldn't allow me to make it up.. back page of a test was missing so got a low score on test, blamed it on me.. 3 pts away from A & he said "shame on you for not doing more extra credit".. mixed feelings, show offy & namedropper

I had a great time in this class. Per some posts below, there were some technical difficulties but I don't blame it on the professor. I actually wish the class was longer and less interactive work. He is funny and highly intelligent. The Psychaide workbook assignments should be mandatory if buying it is mandatory, that was a little annoying.

Learned more in a week in Dr. Mannino's class than in an entire semester with other professors. Only got a C in his class, but learned more than in the classes I got As and Bs.

This professor is clearly student oriented. Comes in a suit every class. Wrote both the books and knows human sexuality topic "way good." It is not a tough class, but he has standards. No doubt, one of the best at SRJC, at least in the big lecture hall setting.

Took his class online this summer (human sexuality). Easy class for me. I love the online setting, much easier to open up and express yourself. Mannino grades very fair on essays. Exams are easy too, if you read the assigned chapters. Would most def. take another one of his classes if needed.

I took this class because of his high ratings, and really enjoyed it. He thinks he class is difficult, but it's super easy. Definitely need the book. Read and highlight. Not so patient, so be careful with your online questions.

Really great teacher, and class! Mannino has so much knowledge and experience in the field so the class was really fascinating. Pretty easy A too. Just make sure you get the books and study from them for the tests.

My entire degree has been online, and by far Dr. Mannino's online classes have been the most organized. He, and his online websites, are so user friendly I've take his Psych 56, 03, and 1A online classes. Responds in a flash to email, concerns, etc. Anyone who "bad mouths" him has a hidden agenda --- their own incompetence to deal with not his.

Caring, passionate, well dressed, ontime, on point, and by far on top of his game. He is witty, huge and relevant story teller form his vast array of experiences. Professor's classes usually close out quickly, so sign up fast. One of the best. No surprises if you just follow directions I thought were clear as day. Witty and very very knowledgeable! A fun learning time indeed.

I finished an online class with Dr. Mannino. It was one I took this summer. He was simply wonderful to me. I have disability issues and he went way way out of his way make sure I stood a chance. I'm in another of his classes now. Website is a little overwhelming at first but then you realize he just want to be sure everyone gets it. Bravo!

Dr Mannino was a joy! Know his topic well and why should he not --- wrote both the textbooks, one of which is nationally known.

Dr. Mannino is one of the most dynamic people I have ever met. I have taken 3 of his classes and never stop learning from him. He is enigmatic, compassionate and competent. He actively listens and his books are thought provoking and make you really explore who and what you are.

This was my favorite teacher coming to the SRJC for the first year. Mannino Rocks! He is the easiest teacher i've had since first grade. He explains things very well and has a certain humor about everything. Take his class, he'll keep you interested and on top of things.

By far one of the best. Power Point savvy; mobile texts to students, emails reminders. message board, wrote the books, Comes prepared in a suit and rocks with wit, charm, and knowledge. Only got a C, but by far one of the better for actually learning something. Is that not novel!

Dr. Mannino is an incredibly inspiring professor. Don't slack off, follow the very concise syllabus and course guidelines and you shouldn't have problems. I took his new "Hybrid" class in "beta" testing. Among the best teachers I have ever had. He ties in his studies to life experiences, and you can always expect a great laugh and an excellent story in every class. Very interesting personality, very interesting subject matter. I was in Dr. Mannino's "beta test" of Hybrid Psych 1A. It was a combination of face-to-face class once a week and online. Each component 50% of grade. If it had not been for the hybrid class, I doubt I would have been able to complete the class. Dr. Mannino is a very dynamic and brilliant innovator in education development. His textbooks are fun !

Took Professor Mannino's Aging, Dying, and Death online class. My entire degree, for the most part is online AND this guy was light years ahead of the pack. Best website I ever used. It's pretty packed, but once you get the hang of it---it is wonderful. Should be the template for online classes. Responds to emails at the speed of light. Loved him.

I took his Hybrid Human Sexuality class (I also had him previously for his hybrid psych 1A) and I absolutely love him. He is hilarious, knows his material and has many experiences with psychology. I adore the hybrid classes, they are easy. I recommend him!!

Dr. Mannino was really helpful with answering an questions you had and he was very prompt when getting back to you. His practice tests were VERY helpful and he made we students laugh. He had a stylish way of teaching that helped me to remember the material. One of the better memories of my time at SRJC.

A very enjoyable and interestingn class. Prof provided many resources online and in the sylabus so you are never left in the dark. Test questions are taken almost entirely from the book and he lets you use your books and note for some tests. He keeps the lectures interesting. Its not hard to get a good grade in his class.

I've taken 3 classes with Dr. Mannino. I changed my major to Psychology because of him. While his face-to-face classes are wonderful, the 2 online classes (not hybrid) were some of the best online classes I've ever taken. He is a pioneer in this format and it shows. Great professor! I really enjoyed his online class. I'm even taking another one of his classes next semester. However, I will never take another one of his online summer classes. He doesn't ease up on the workload, so it got to be a little bit overwhelming at times.

This was the only time I ever wished for more class time. I was part of his hybrid online/lecture class and he was great in person but his assignments were too easy. He gave us 3 months to complete 9 HWs and after that only took of 5 points each. He dropped the lowest grade and offered 45 points extra credit. It was almost impossible fail.

Dr. Mannino is an amazing teacher, he's hilarious, he knows what he's talking about unlike a lot of SRJC teachers, and he gives people a chance. His tests are relatively easy, if you read the book and participate and his lectures are very interesting. The books he wrote are great as well. I recommend him for every psychology class.

Dr. Mannino is a person who really cares for his students and he gives excellence in his teaching. He is always concern if we understand or not the lessons in order to explain them again in detail. Great professor!

Take his hybrid course. It is genius. Also TAKE THE PRACTICE TESTS. All the questions are on the actual test so you can go into the test knowing at least 30 questions. He also lets you drop your lowest exam grade and homework is pass/fail. He is really fascinating and humorous and the subject is intriguing. Take his class.

Sense of humor. Interesting. Great. Good student aides. It can be complicated with a lot of directions and information but instructor is very fair. Tests are fair. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. The easiest Psych 1A class there is. More teachers should use his online format. The in class component was somewhat interesting but not conducive to asking questions, use message board. All the heavy lifting learning is done on your own on-line which worked great for me. Should be an Easy A. Highly Recommend.

Hybrid class worked out well. Some work is turned in, however, most is done online. Homework is two online videos per week and a response paper to each. A 250 word thought provoking question per week is posted on the message board. There's plenty of extra credit opportunities. The instructor is very polite with emails and respectful towards students. I really enjoyed his class. I would highly recommend his class. I never felt overwhelmed by homework.

Dr. Mannino is a pioneer with online classes and its shows. This was without a doubt one of my favorite online classes ever. Highly recommend him. He is a gem of a professor. I did not secure the grade I wanted, but it was through my own fault, not his.

I started off not liking Mannino and wondering how on earth he had such good reviews, but he grew on me. He's funny, and friendly to be around then he might say. Do the online homework on time and it's impossible to fail.

Dr. Mannino comes across as no nonsense, but you soon learn he bends over backwards to make sure each student has a chance to show they have learned. He provides many ways, methods, and projects for grade to level the playing field so no student is penalized by being poor in a given test format. He has a wicked sense of human. Well published

Dr. Mannino was truly a joy to listen to and learn from. He has an awesome sense of humor and the time passes quickly in this class. He is not afraid to make a fool of you if you choose to heckle or be disrespectful, but he is charming and charismatic and I encourage you to learn from him.

I've taken my share of online classes, but I must say Dr. Mannino was by far the very best. He is so organized that is was impossible not to understand what he wanted and what was needed for a good grade. It is not an easy class but it is not a hard one either. Do the work in a timely manner and you will receive a very good grade! Recommend highly!

Mannino comes from the real world. Worked in it for decades before becoming a professor. He is fun, inspirational, and gives lectures that you can use in the real world. If I need to miss a lecture, it would not be his. I'm hoping I can squeeze in his human sexuality class.

Took the hybrid course. 1 assignment per week (pretty easy), and the 4 tests where he drops the lowest. (I didn't take one of them). He has some open book tests, but questions are specific so use sticky notes on pages to find the reference. Pretty easy class if you stay current, you will fail or barely pass if you don't have the book.

Amazing professor! I refer him to all of my friends and anyone who will listen. I was nervous about a class that was half online and half face to face, but Mannino was there every step of the way. I was most impressed that he writes many of the textbooks used in his classes. I found them better than the normal run of the mill textbook. Overall an amazing teacher. I loved him.

He's a great teacher but because he's got so many students he does not give you as much attention and sometimes if you don't listen carefully its pretty easy to get lost. Lots of reading so know this before you sign up for his class even though its a lot there pretty good topics and he makes you engage in the text so its not so boring

I liked this professor and very much respect him and his readings. He is a very intelligent man that loves to show off his accomplishments (oh, he wrote the textbooks! ). Only complaint would be about how I tried to speak to him one-on-one two times, both times he literally put his hand in my face and said nothing, as in go away....I mean, what?

I've taken all three of Dr Mannino's online classes. This guy knows how to teach online. If you want an A, he shows you how to acheive it. Do the work, be "onetime and online" as he says and you will get it. It is not based on always nailing good grades on the exams. There are many options for for achieving an A. The best!

I took this class online, which I regret. I feel like I would have gotten a better grade if I had taken it in person. He's a great teacher, but some times not always clear or very helpful. Just take it in person vs online. It might be more helpful.

Considering it was only a 6 week summer course, this professor deserves a metal. He worked tirelessly to be there for his students. I very much appreciated all he did to make this grueling course work.

Dr Mannino's class has a trendy format (hybrid) but he backs it up with a great website and great lectures. One of my absolute favorites this Fall, 2015 semester. He is always in a suit and and very polished

Easy class, just a lot of writing but still manageable. 4 writing assignments (3,000 words for each) in one semester. 250 words every week, and small assignments you must do with his PsychAide book. Tests are open book and you get two hours to do them. Would highly recommend his online class.

He will inspire you to learn and enhance your worldview with his vast knowledge and life experience. Anecdotes are humorous, authentic, and valuable. Intention to educate and support students is evident. He is more interested in teaching than judging. Not easy, but if you work half as hard at your own education as he does, you will get an A.

Great class and really clear cut. Tests are worth a big portion of you grade. You have to buy his books which are somewhat expensive and then tear the pages out and turn them in for credit so you can't sell back the book or give it to a friend. Tests were not too bad but definitely carry your grade and you have to post or write each week.

I've been at the SRJC for three and a half years. Transferring to Sonoma State in Fall of 2016. The point being I've had my share of in class and online classes. Without a doubt Dr. Mannino was a totally great experience. He is one of the pioneers of online education and written five books. His lectures are always wonderful and often inspiring.

Dr. Mannino's class was great. You can tell that he has a lot of experience in this field. Be ready to watch 1 hour videos each week. Tests are open book, but you still need to read the chapter if you want to finish on time. Great lectures, never boring. Easy A

This online class is set up clearly so you know exactly what is expected of you from the beginning. The material is easy and interesting to learn. Just do what is required for an easy A.

Wonderful course start to finish! Dr. Mannino was truly excellent, at the beginning of the course had boatloads of information for the course. One thing I will say is that this class is very writing oriented, which makes it very time consuming. The practice tests are very helpful in learning the material that will be asked on the exams.

Dr. Mannino's hybrid Human Sexuality class was great! Super easy homework and every exam was open book with him dropping your lowest exam grade if you attend all four. In this class there is no final, if you went to the first three exams you don't have to show up on the last day. He is so funny and incredibly smart!

Professor Mannino is known as an innovative pioneer for Distance Education (online classes). I have been a staff worker at college for many years and when I decided to become a nurse at SRJC, I was told to start with Dr. Mannino's class. I was not disappointed! He knows his stuff, has a good sense of humor, wrote several books, & seems to care.

Everyone is kind of looking for an easy prof, an easy A! The fact is Mannino is not easy. The tradeoff is he's wicked good and interesting --- and if you simply do the homework you pretty much get an A. Poor grades can be offset by over 30 points in extra credit. Terrific class. Real gentlemen.

J. Davis Mannino is a real gem to have as a teacher. I decided to take his online class and I really enjoyed it. The class is not that difficult, and doing the practice exams really help on passing the actual exams. It is easy to fall behind in this class, so keep up with the reading, weekly assignments, and important project due dates.

Took Mannino's Psych 1A online course. Very nice. The "Crash Course" in Psychology set of "YouTube" videos was innovative. Super quick on email response. I taken another of his courses in a heart beat. Website design one of the better.

Dr. Mannino simply expects the best from his students. Do the work and fulfill all of his requirements and you'll get a good grade. The class wasn't difficult and his standards were very fair. The average class grade in the course I took with him was a B+. He also communicated with the class very well (being that it was online).

Loved taking Mannino. His lectures were hilarious and super entertaining. I only used the textbook for the exams when I needed it. He gives out extra credit which is great and his assignments are really straight forward. If you study his practice exams then the exams will be pretty easy.

The psych of aging, dying and death is one of the most eye-opening, inspirational and self-reflective courses I have ever taken. As a student entering the medical field, I believe this class should be required for all medical professionals. It is important to be able to speak about death with no reservations. This class teaches you to do just that.

Mannino has a very clear grading criteria in his online classes so it is easy to get an A if you put in the effort. I've taken two of his classes already and earned an A because I met the criteria. If you stay on top of the work and do what he asks it is impossible to get anything lower than a B. Awesome professor.

Dr. Mannino's hybrid class was a great choice. The weekly assignments weren't too much work and very manageable. The tests were all open book and I didn't even need the book as my homework score negated lower test grades. He is a great guy who truly cares about psychology.

Taking this class with this professor is a solid choice. Weekly assignments that take about 2-3 hours. Exams that are heavy on the reading material, but do all three trials of the quizzes per chapter and you can secure an A without reading much of the book. Still uses some outdated instructions and announcements so it can be confusing at times.

This course was great! There was basically a writing assignment due every week in response to 3-5 tasks posted to Canvas. It only took about 3 hours a week to read up and do the homework, and even if a deadline was missed, he was very gracious about accepting late assignments. The tests were great, and fairly easy if you take the practice quizzes.

I took Dr. Manninos online Psychology 3 class (human sexuality). AMAZING professor, I wish I took his in class course. For online, the work was very easy to follow and well organized. I learned soo much and the assignments were great. I didnt use the text book at all, but you NEED the WORKBOOK. Highly recommend this professor!

I took his online class and it was really easy. There is a lot to do each week, and all you have to do is manage your time well to have an A. He is the author of the textbook and workbook you have to have, and it's hilarious. He definitely has a lot of personality, and it's so easy to pass. I enjoyed the class! If you slack off, you won't enjoy it.

Took his hybrid psych 1A class. He's one of the best teachers I've ever had, very interesting and funny. Everything is super straightforward and he's super forgiving and understanding. Has a generous policy on late work. The exams are open notebook exams and fairly easy. Overall a great course. It'd be pretty hard to fail this one.

Manino is hands down the best professor at the SRJC. His lectures were so good and I liked going to class. I learned something new about the way people act and think every time I stepped inside of his classroom. Dont worry about the tests. Theyre very easy and only reflect the stuff taught in class. Mr. Manino was a nice professor. His class was structured very well and we could go at our own pace. The textbook is used heavily and a lot of the test material is from here. The tests were not hard and he dropped the lowest exam score.

I took Mannino in the Summer so there was a lot to learn within a short amount of time. He clearly outlines what expects and there is no excuse to do poorly on the assignments. He immediately replies back so that is a plus. Do the reading and you must have good time management in order to take his PSYCH 1A online course.

His online Human Sexuality class was fun and quite a substantial experience. It was a six week summer class. I have positive thoughts about Dr. Mannino. I'm signed up for another of this online classes for Fall, 2020. He was recommended by friends to take, and I was not disappointed! l

Dr. Manino is a great professor. He ran our class through his own website and it was honestly really good. I am a computer science major and I am genuinely impressed. The bulk of the total grade came from exams and they were open note. The class was completely online and nothing changed when we were forced online. Such a great professor.

I was not really interested in psychology before taking this class. Honestly I only took it for the IGETC UC transfer requirements. After taking this class, my life changed forever. I took this class with Dr Mannino because of the ratemyprofessor reviews and all the positive reviews are accurate. He is such a good teacher and I learned so much valuable information from this class, in addition to getting an easy A.

He sends a lot of emails at the beginning of the year preparing you for the class, but PLEASE TAKE THIS CLASS! Do all the assignments (2 per week), and finish all the required discussion responses and you will get extra credit every week! 5th exam is optional.

My friends and I took this class at separate times but we all loved Mannino. His assignments are quite easy (easiest A out of all of my classes). It started 2 weeks later than a usual class and its like there is no final because the last exam is optional (to take the place of another exam).

His lectures are so thorough from week to week, he includes so many examples, experiments, studies, and different types of research that really add to all of his classes. He has been doing online classes for I think 20 years, which means his online format has been perfected. I've taken 2 classes with him and encourage anyone to take his classes.

Dr. Mannino was a "gem!" I see a student complained about all the writing. It's an online class! Duh?. I thought workload was fair. He was ALWAYS there for students. Speed of light return on emails. AND his website was just so nice and professional, in fact I'd call it visualy attractive. Late assignments were accepted without penalty for 60 days

I'm already in the Funeral Business, so thought taking a Dr. Mannino's Psych 56 (Aging, Dying, & Death) course would be fairly easy for me. While the course was not an easy one, I DiD LEARN WAY MORE than I had thought I would. Over the course of the semester I grew to develop a lot of respect for my professor. Dr Mannino was a fair and wise professor. His experience running online courses made my experience in his class, beneficial and useful. I loved his website, and, his caring fairness overall. Without question one of the best at SRJC, especially if you are taking an online class. I took all three of his online classes - Aging, Dying, and Death; Human Sexuality; and Introduction to Psychology All three of his classes have the same formate, so that was nice. No learning curve. Found Dr Mannino attentive to student concerns, responded to emails in a timely fashion, and had lovely weekly teaching modules online which met my needs and then some. I have taken him before and have always felt he was one of the better professors at SRJC; especially online. I read the negative reviews here and feel they smack of lazy students.

Just completed a Psych 56 class with Dr. Mannino. He was solid, reasonable, with a nice website which made taking his classes fun and interesting. Not an easy class, but not difficult. If one does the work, getting an A is not tough. Grades by total points, which allows a student to choose what grade they want and are willing to work for.

He provided weekly feedback on all students' submissions and a major weekly email communication, which kind of reminded me of an office hour or visit. I've taken all three of his online classes. Dr. Mannino's online class was super interesting and fun! You only have two assignments every week for the 15 week course, which does require a decent amount of writing, but if you give a good response then you get full points. I do think it gets a bit redundant after a while, but the course itself is not very hard and the content is entertaining.

I took Human Sexuality from Dr. Mannino. He was top notch with a top notch website. He has written many textbooks and is very very online savvy; which made his class one of the better online classes I've taken anywhere. Highly recommend. Just finished taking online psych 56 with Dr. Mannino. He was fun, engaging, and always swift on email returns. His website is one of the best I've used at SRJC. Highly recommend taking any class with him. I'm going to take another one with him this summer.

Another class with Mannino down! Always so happy to take his psych classes. He knows his stuff and his personal essays, books, and articles are amazing. He opens up the room for us to talk about topics that are never publicly talked about and that is AMAZING. Be prepared to write a decent amount, but with his discussion questions, that is easy!

Professor has long history of teaching online and it shows well. He is responsive to emails and is, clearly, there for his students. I've taken all three of his online classes Psych 1A, Psych 03, and Psych 56. I have received much from taking Dr. Mannino's classes. Highly recommend. Only downside is his classes close out FAST.

Professor is kind! His websites inspire confidence and many are downright inspirational. Quick on email return. Not hard to secure an A if one simply submits the work on time and masters the practice exams and study guides he has for most all the exams. One of the better experiences in my college education..

Professor Mannino is one of the best online teachers I've ever had. His Modules as just great. They include any and all notes one would need to do well in class. He has both chapter exams, chapter practice exams, and major practice exams. He is quick to respond to emails, and is compassionate and caring to students with issues

I found Dr. Mannino to be one of the best professors at SRJC. His courses are all online. And what a treat! They are some of the best --- smart, clever, interesting and learning oriented. He is always available for phone and email. Much of the course work is from textbooks he wrote himself. He's tops and I highly recommend Dr. Mannino!

Professor Mannino is a pro at online teaching. His engaging modules and responsive feedback make the class a rewarding experience. Unstuckstudy AI was a great study tool alongside the textbook. Highly recommend taking his courses.
