Rader is awesome! If you're looking for a professor who knows his stuff and sincerely wants you to pass and learn something, he's your professor! He is highly controversial, makes you think for yourself, never looks down on you or makes you feel dumb. GREAT guy! Loved his class. I took his Comp. 2 and with I had him for Comp 1.
Rader is one of my favorite teachers, he is so fun! He has a lot of passion which he brings into his teachings and brings big energy into his classroom. He is typically very loud, which is probably why he teaches half his classes late in the afternoon. You will be reading in his class but students vote on what to read. Take it, you wont be sorry!
Rader is epic! I loved taking his class and coming in knowing that class is going to be fun. Rader is easy to talk too and is very helpful (plus he is always in his office if you need him), the work makes you think outside the box and to help you improve your writing . I would take his class again! If you have the chance do it!
Rader's a great guy! He makes the class discussions fun and engaging. However, he's probably the toughest grader I've EVER encountered. There were 4 papers to write, and they were overly complicated. Do NOT go into this class expecting to get an 'A' on every paper. Get ready to WRITE.
Rader is awesome. He definitely grades on a mental scale, so if you are a good writer, be prepared to really work for that "A." He does it to push you, and, in retrospect, I am thankful. My writing has improved, and he taught me a few valuable concepts that I will use in the future. If you take a risk, make sure you pull it off.
Rader is hilarious! He makes the class very interactive. Makes you write a rough draft for every essay and reads every copy you give him. He gives great feedback to ensure best possible grade. There will be a lot of reading but the class gets to vote on which book to read. He is always willing to stay after class to help and office is always open.
The worst professor I've ever had. He came into class unprepared, didn't even remember which class we were or what he'd assigned us, and was super unclear about what he did assign us.
Rader is awesome makes his class interesting and he is super understanding. all you have to do is talk to him. I defiantly am not the best writer and Rader knows that but he'll help you in any he can. Great guy seriously take him best professor ever.
So hot. Literally the funniest professor at LSSC. Cares about students. If you do the work you will pass but use your brain, he is not gullible you need to analyze things and write a well though out essay.
You will walk out educated
Rader has the best classes. He always provides entertainment while giving valuable lessons. In this class you will read some interesting books and Rader will have thoughtful discussions with his classes. When you take a class with Rader you will notice that he really cares for his students and wants them to succeed.
Rader is the hottest professor at LSSC. Hands down the funniest, oddest English teacher I've ever had. When I'm not admiring his marvel collection, I'm learning about religion, lit Crit, and what it's like to be in a coma.
Rader is awesome. He's in desperate need of being a chilli pepper, whatever that means, so give the poor man this so deserved title.
Rader is amazing. I took his class last semester and I'm taking another one this year. Rader cares about his students and does his best to make sure they pass. A class with Rader is not easy but it is thought provoking and is something you'll always want to attend. Rader also has a fantastic sense of humor. Take his class you won't regret it.
The hardest easiest instructor to take. He is extremely challenging yet you have to keep taking the other classes that he teaches. There is just something about The Rader! The James Dean of English!
He's deserves 30,000 chili peppers.
He is very loud, but still fun. He is also very sarcastic. (In a good way)
Just do your work and you will be fine.
Very enthusiastic and effective as a teacher and as a person.
Rader runs a fun and relaxed class. He always encourages different viewpoints and ideas.
a huge smart alleck but hilarious
He's enthusiastic about the subject and funny.
He is a tough grader, but he is not unfair. He occasionally used some profane language, but not often. Very good at what he does though. Clearly demonstrates mastery at what he teaches.
Amazing
He's the man! Great teacher.
Rader is not the god we deserve, but the god we need.
He paid me to write do this
Amazing professor. Learned a lot and had a good time.
Be very careful with this professor ... doesn't grade assignments throughout the course, yet continually tells you you're "doing fine", then everything disappears from BB without anything having been graded. Does not remember assignment details/dates. Classroom environment can be somewhat hostile at times. Flies by the seat of his pants.
He's really funny and easy to learn from. He engages with his students on a level that I haven't found from another professor. 10/10 would definately reccomend.
Professor Rader makes class fun, but he doesn't make it easy. This class is not hard to pass. Don't expect an A unless you are willing to work for it.
Rader is hilarious!!! He is such a great professor and extremely knowledgeable in what he is talking about. You will not use a text book but be prepared to get some crazy book and talk about it most the semester (Green Eggs and Ham) you will definitely have fun in his class. It's never a dull moment with him!!
Professor Rader is awesome.
Amazing Professor
Professor Rader is very entertaining.
Professor Rader really gets you involved in the literature you read. He presents many different angles/perspectives to you as a student. He creates an open minded and fun environment that inspires you to really analyze the literature you read in class.
I really enjoyed this class. Not only did I learn about composition of different types of papers, but I was able to hone in on my grammar skills as well. Professor Rader gave great feedback and genuinely cares about the students' success in the course. It was a true pleasure!
I took Professor Rader's online ENC 2300 class. Great professor! He wants you to succeed. Your writing skills will improve greatly by the end of the course! Put in the time and effort and you will succeed in this class. Mr. Rader offers extra credit as well. Highly recommend!
Laid back guy, when he says use impeccable grammar he means it. Took this class online as a Minimester.
Professor Rader offers extra credit. He is a tough grader but gives honest feedback. Some assignments are a little strange, but relevant. I took this for credit for AA degree requirements.
Did a good job giving very good amounts of feedback and plenty of opportunities to resubmit assignments for extra credit. Also gives plenty of chances for extra credit. Also was nice that the professor will still grade stuff that is late and give you decent credit. Would recommend this professor for sure.
Great teacher, that provides great feedback. Very critical on writing assignments, but much needed! Took him for ENC2300, and I would recommend to anyone!
Professor Rader is an excellent professor to take for your first semester because he's very lighthearted. In the lectures, he cracks a lot of jokes and it is a lot of fun. Although, he grades really tough on the essays, he gives good feeback on what to fix. He also understands that he is a tough grader and offers easy assignments to get some points
He is caring with a big heart and hilarious!!! I keep taking this professor because he pushes you and keeps you on your toes! Fantastic teacher and really honest.
Rader is the best professor I've ever had. I would definitely recommend him.
He said he would R. Kelly my final if I did not go on Rate My Professors and give him a chili pepper.
He is an amazing teacher, makes me understand things that haven't quite set well with me. Hilarious but don't take everything serious. Great feedback on essay and gives a lot of help and respect back to students.
He's super kind and funny. If you get offended easily or do not like getting called possibly-offensive nicknames, do not take his class. He has a lot of papers/discussions. Make sure you read every story he gives you before class time. He's easy to ask questions to and get in contact with. I'd take him again if I was staying at LSSC.
Rader is the best teacher I have ever had, you will learn soo much. Rader Rocks!!
This Professor is Amazing, He is a type of professor that will work with you when you need help the most, will understand any crazy questions and will work with late work.
A lot of student finds him funny. He curses a lot in class. I do find him distracting in class with all the talk he does while you're studying. Just be prepared to work for your grade and I believe that's fair for any class you take. I don't see him teaching yet he expects you to know everything already.
Patrick Rader is a legend above all others. His rapid-fire knowledge base has an immense capacity. This Professor is highly respected by both peers and students alike. knowing you have his class that day is a joy and excitement that is not often found in learning environments. Genuine smiles enter and leave his classroom daily.
Very good teacher. A fairly strict grader on writing assignments, but gives very good feedback and is helpful. Interactive and funny.
We had 23 students at the beginning of the school year and now we have 20. Im scared but hes funny so I stay. In all seriousness hes a hilarious teacher that knows what hes talking about. 10/10 would recommend.
Hilarious teacher. Strict when grading with grammar and punctuation. Walked into the class at the beginning of the semester hating english and left the class loving it because of him. Be prepared to be scared.
Really good professor and easy to talk to. Harsh grader so ask questions when confused. Made me a better writer. I was in constant fear of my life in the class though!
i would definitely take this class again with rader. he gives good feedback and makes class fun.
What an interesting professor, to say the least. I've taken quite a few English professors, none of which are remotely the wild and opinionated person Rader is, but nevertheless the class is awesome. I have truly enjoyed all the traumatic abuse, both mental and physical, that this 6ft tall leprechaun has put us through. Seriously, take the class.
Mr. Rader is a overall good teacher to get an A in his class you will have to work for it but it is beneficial in end, because you actual learn important things.
Professor Rader was a great teacher and I enjoyed the class.
Rader is a long lost descendant of Obi wan Ken obi. With light saber in tow and a a Deadpool hello kitty key chain hanging off his pant loop. He fights improper grammar for the good of all man kind and especially illiterate children that come from local Lake County High Schools. He is our last hope for the future of human literacy. Thanks Ray-dog!
Would take this class again!
good Professor, not too hard. Do your work on time, and the most to your ability and end the class with at least a B.
Professor Deadpool is a knowledgeable and respectful person. If you have any questions, hes easily accessible on canvas message or email. Go to class even if its optional. As long as you keep up with your work , the class is super easy. I used to suck at writing papers, now I feel more comfortable and confident with college level English. :)
Rader is like The Dude, Jim Hopper, and Deadpool combined into one glorious being. If you like monotony and lectures, this won't be the class for you. Just one warning: be prepared for yelling (like, a lot) and even more sarcasm. Rader might be the greatest English professor to ever exist!
Cool dude. Some call him Daddy.
Great person.
This guy is his own circus!! Crazy, fun and loud!!
I enjoyed every class I was in with him. I did miss a few classes due to medical complications, but when I did, I loved it. Intensely engaging with the course and has a great outlook on life and how to teach students.
I have learned alot from class and it pushed me to see literature in different ways and apply different lenses to texts.
He is a great teacher. He is one of the best teacher's I have ever had.
Rader is pretty comparable to Jim Hopper. He's stern, serious about his work, motivated, but he's also funny and cares for his own. He's an overall outstanding professor. He's just passionate about what he does and genuinely wants his students to learn something. He is accommodating, helpful, and easy to reach out to if you ever have any problems.
I would say Professor Rader could be compared to Hopper from Stranger Things. Like Hopper, Rader can be scary, funny, caring and loud. Overall this was a good class and he did help out with any and all questions. I would recommend professor Rader to others.
Looking over the past few months I was able to accomplish a few things. However, my progress was not a great as I had hoped it would be at the start of the semester. I find that this was due to a lack of motivation in the class. Due to the fact that the class was only once a week, I never really had much involvement in it. It also was impacted by
Mr. Rader was very personal with the students. He spent one on one with any of us when we needed/asked for it. He was willing to look over big assignments (such as the two essays) before we submitted them, which I greatly appreciated. He always found ways to keep class fun, and keep us all engaged. I would highly recommend taking his classses.
Professor Rader has helped me see different types of literature in different ways. He is very strict, but a person has stayed focused and follow the directions that are assigned to the assignments. He is a tough grader, but will allow you to do extra credit and you get one chance to make up homework. He reminds me of Sam-I-A.
My fragmentasaurus deserved a x3000 as a grade bro. Theres 287 characters after that number so all I can say is blah blah blah blah blah blah
Professor Rader was the best professor I have had so far! He is hilarious and makes class fun. He is very good with answering questions and getting back with you at a reasonable time. He takes the time to know each one of his students and if you have the chance to take a class with him you will not be sorry!
Hes an amazing professor. Super funny and works along with you concerning assignments, really easy to talk to. This was my first time taking physical college classes, and I was really nervous, but hes made this experience easier. I will take him next semester too!
By far the best professor or teacher iv'e ever had. He is so crazy and outgoing that class is exciting to go to because you're never sure what may happen. There is very little lecturing while still getting lots of learning. He is super funny and absolutely crazy!
I think this must have been his first semester teaching Creative Writing. Please do not take his class, especially if you are a woman. Rader is rude, dismissive, and very unclear in his rubrics. I was forced to drop the class after he spent more time trying to win arguments he decided we were having instead of teaching.
Instead of using a textbook, Rader had us read "American Gods" to teach us about literary criticism. The novel had so many amazing examples of so many of the things we were learning, it lead to some AMAZING in class discussions. He has an eccentric personality, and always has exciting classes, and he genuinely cares for his students.
He was cool and relatable, didnt make me feel like I was gonna fail just from his energy
The course is very rigorous but he makes it bearable. Tough grader but a very good teacher.
This guy is a joke. Puts you down and fights with students. Needs to be right all the time. There is no way he should be teaching anyone. Does he really have a degree to teach? He smells like wet dog and weed. Gave the class extra credit to rate him. Here it is. Run from this guy. You will be better off teaching yourself.
Great professor. He has genuinely interesting discussion topics that he links to class material. He wears his politics on his shoulder but he is chill with any beliefs. Attendance is more fun than it is a chore. When he understood my Jojo's reference I knew he was a good professor. 11/10. P.S. He likes Green Eggs and Ham. Not really, but he does.
I love the sense of humor, and appreciate how concise is he
I have so many good things to say about this professor. His humor and opinions are an acquired taste, but he is hilarious and helpful. Participation really matters in his classes, and he is a tough grader. But over all if youre willing to put in the hard work, he is an awesome teacher to have. I plan on taking ENC1102 with him next semester
I really enjoyed his class he is very friendly and understandable. The class overall was fun and very easy to understand . I would say he is a hard grade and grammarly is very important for essays but he does provide a clear criteria and he is accessible after class for help. Overall enjoyed his class . I plan on taking ENC 1102 with him next year
Ive taken Rader for ENC1101 and ENC1102. ENC1101: my advice is dont procrastinate on the InQuizitive assignments because they add up. Before long its the end of the semester and theyre due in an hour. ENC1102: wrote 4 essays total, use grammarly and dont use all caps in reference page. Overall, understanding professor genuinely wants to help
If you want to take a class with a professor who is beyond engaging, this is your dude. Taken three classes with him now and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. You'll never not be laughing or think critically in his classes. There are professors who teach, and then there are professors that exist to make you think and work hard. And that's him
Doesn't list requirements or expectations of assignments in the syllabus, or rubric. He will grade you poorly even if you meet all the criteria for an A on an assignment. Hardly anyone got a 100/100 on any written assignment. Feedback is as simple as a highlight of the problem and a link to a webpage to find the answer yourself.
Rader Is an amazing teacher! He is always willing to help out and gives good feedback. He is hilarious and his classes are always fun. Just beware, his brand of comedy is not for the faint of heart. He can be a bit late to grade things. This is because he teaches so many classes. However, he is very flexible with due dates.
Rader is awesome!! He is one of the best English teachers. I took him for 1102 "After Dark," and although it was online, Rader was very good at explaining the material. He somewhat let everyone read the book at their own pace, but there were certain checkpoints where you had to read that chapter or read on a topic related to a chapter.
He is a good professor. He teaches well, and his grading/rubrics are clear. However, some of the things he says can be a little out there. Most of the time, he is not mean, just very sarcastic. It can be very surprising when he says very strange things. There isn't that much coursework. Just 2 essays, Inquizitive, and other very easy assignments!
Prof. Rader is funny, and the work isn't all that hard.
Professor Rader is probably one of my favorite professors. He is funny and really wants everyone to be better writers at the end of his class. The assignments are easy if you read the rubrics carefully and run them through Grammarly. I highly recommend taking any of Rader's classes.
He's amazing! Super chill class and he's very easy to reach out to if guidance is ever needed. He's understanding and likes to engage with the students to make sure everyone does good. Assignments are all easy, you just have to make the time for them. He also has a big sense of humor so prepare to hear jokes all thee time. Definitely recommend!
Rader is a great teacher, can't wait to have him as a teacher again.
