Fun lectures with class particapation. He is a good teacher that wants to help his students know more about physics. The tests are hard if you don't read the textbook and pay attention in class.
He's an awesome Physics teacher. He's very energetic and fun. His class is fairly easy, I didn't go for about 2 months and got a B.
He does experiments in class all the time that really keep you interested-it's awesome! As long as you go to class, you'll get an A.
The only assignments you are responsible for is his 4 tests. Everything else is extra credit. He does interesting experiments.
You really have to study on your own. class time is kind of a waste. people don't like to ask questions because he tends to get on a tangent for a really long time, without answering your question.
Man this guy sucks at teaching!! his might do some cool experiments in class, but i really didnt learn anything and his tests have no basis on his lectures!! He expects you to already know everything about physics, he is not good at explaining at all!!!
He kinda goes off on a tangent when he's talking and totaly loses everyone... then when he finally gets back to the subject no one is listening to him. Other than that he's an okay teacher
I thought he was a good teacher other than his... very frequent... detours, but other than that I walked out of his class with a B- without taking the finals. So, it's really easy if you just stick in there and pay attention.
This guy is truly a thinker. I love the way this guy explain things, but you have to think about it after a while for it to make any sense. He does seem to go off on a tangent quite a bit, but it's (somehow) relevant. Just read the text ahead of time and it's good. Tests are the only assignments. You'd be derelict if you didn't take this class.
I like him. He's really funny and I think he's really smart, but he really goes off on a lot of nothing-ness. Other than that, his class is really cool.
He is interesting to listen to but he tends to talk a lot more than teach. He doesn't answer questions very well. But if you understand physics and the math of physics good for you, go listen to him, he's funny. He does funny experiments. As for teaching you how to do the math, good luck. Just go find yourself a tutor.
Very funny if you are not the one being made fun of.
This was supposed to be an introductory course, but it was harder than any other advanced course I've ever had. Class time was dedicated to concepts, but tests were based on applied problems that I had to teach myself. After talking to other physics students I realized that Dr. Galli was making our class do much more than any other class. Beware
Horrible teacher, very childish. One of those teachers who knows a lot about his area of expertise, but knows nothing about how to get it across to the students. Fun experiments, but lots of tangents. I felt bad for the students in high school who worked hard to take the AP Physics exam, and they're getting the same credit that this class delivers.
He was a lot of fun, and gave enough extra credit to actually get a good grade!
great class. attend class and read ahead and you can't walk out with less than an A. funny but lots of tangents
I really like him as a person, he wanted things to be fun and for us to have a good learning experience. An easy class but he was not very good at answering student questions. Read the text beforehand so you know what's going on in class. He offers enough extra credit to make up for hard-ish tests (sometimes stuff he doesn't teach is on the test).
He is a genious. He does not teach very well, he explains things then just confuses everyone more. Everything is extra credit except the test which aren t to bad. Easy class. He does try to make it fun.
Galli does really awesome experiments that he makes fairly comical as well. He gets disappointed easily when people don't read the text and I think that if not many people have read he is intentionally confusing. It's really easy to get a good grade there are lots of extra credit options that are as simple as attending and reading before class.
This guy is the coolest physics teacher that you'll ever find! He's got the coolest experiments and he definitely loves physics. He teaches about physics in a way that's very understandable and that is very easy to remember. He has a sense of humor that is hilarious!
BEST TEACHER!!! He's really great. Class is always interesting and his experiments are way cool. The class isn't super hard, and i have HORRIBLE study habits and still ended up with a B+. As long as you review your notes a day or two before the tests you should be ok.
He is the best teacher ever!!!! He makes science fun!!! He has several demonstrations every day and explains things to that they are very understandable!! He is very funny and the class is never boring. In my class the only assignments were the 3 tests so you have to study hard for them, but he tells you exactly what will be on them.
Very interesting teacher. He has tons of little experiments everyday for the lectures which keep everyone from falling asleep. Funny guy too. All in all an easy A.
Galli is a really nice guy, but if you don't do his Outline Topics just the way he wants them you will get zero points. So if you can read his mind a little you will do well. He has cool demonstrations but he rambles about himself a lot. Be prepared to read the entire book and to watch all of his online movies to get a good grade.
Funny and interesting. Really seems to care about the people in the class.
This was an easy class. Homework is extra credit but I would recomend doing it because 95% whats on the homework is on his tests. The other 5% is on his interesting and fun demonstrations he does everyday. Good class if your just getting your generals. Book is needed in this class. Galli is a good person and a cool cat.
Easy class. Fun demonstrations. Homework is extra credit, but do it because the tests can be surprisingly tricky. Galli usually gives tips before the tests about the hard questions so pay attention. If you do 30 out of 38 homework assignments for M W F class you'll get a full grade boost at the end of the semester! A 4 page report is extra cred too
I hate physics but I loved this class. Galli is an amazing teacher; there should be more teachers like him. He is passionate about physics and helping students learn physics :)
this teacher was very boring and occasionally disorganized. I slept through half of every class and still practically aced every test. I only learned new topics near the end of the semester. He also doesn't get along well with ESL students
He tried to make physics as fun as possible and kept a fun learning environment. Extra credit is liberally available and I was able to get an A in a class I truly didn't grasp.
This guy does not do a lot of teaching. He rambles a lot and hardly ever directly answers questions the class has. I def had to teach myself through the book and got really frustrated with him because of it. The good things is there is TONS of extra credit!
Galli rambles a lot. My transcribers kept losing track. Read the textbook. Watch the demonstration. In the movies, he is more to the point. I hated the extra credit protocols. Paper size? Please. Personally, I skipped it. But if you don't test well, you better give the extra credit some attention. Nice guy, somewhat obnoxious.
Do the outlines and study to understand the concepts and not just memorization. Be smart with your study time and consider a study group. You can expect an A if you can do this.
I loved this the class! Galli really knows his stuff and he also knows how to teach his students. He really wants his students to know the material and will go the extra mile to help! Awesome class and outstanding professor! Strongly recommend this class!
Loved the class, watching the movies out of class would have helped, but a good guy who wants his students to succeed.
He gives you a good outline, and study guide of what you need to know for exams. His lectures went a little over my head, I'm not much of a Physicist though. Pretty challenging course.
Easy class, he would go over some of the test questions before he would give it to us! I also learned a lot.
Very easy, very informative. He doesn't answer questions well during class, but is still probably the best teacher I've had.
best teacher ever! He has tons of little experiments everyday for the lectures which keep everyone from falling asleep. Funny guy too. All in all an easy A.
He's very hilarious.If u didn't get an A that's ur own fault. U didn't study!
He makes physics fun! Half the class is him showing examples, and you learn. He does extra credit. 90% and above is an A. He's nice. TAKE HIM! Also, he's the funniest teacher you'll ever have.
Galli was the funnest physics teacher I ever had. He doesn't put anything on the tests that he doesn't teach you through the outline topics and he always goes over the outline topics in class. Overall, he makes physics fun to learn about and an A 100% possible. I would recommend taking this class to everyone who is slightly interested in physics.
easy but you will learn too. awesome teacher
He asked our class the first day whether we wanted cumulative tests or tests broken into 3 parts where you weren't responsible for previous material. There are 3 tests total. Along with this there is a ton of extra credit. You can gain up to a full letter grade of extra credit. Very easy class. I recommend you take this class if you need physics.
He's a really nice guy, but I don't feel like I learned a lot in this class. I have practically zero interest in physics (I had to take it as a prerequisite to get into my graduate program), so I thought this class was an absolute bore. On the plus side, he offers extra credit for practically everything. Overall, I'm just not very impressed.
Great class, grades were based solely on test with ALL assignments as extra credit. Enough extra credit to raise a full grade. Prof is funny, attendance not mandatory. He does actually teach as well, very fun, awesome experiments!
Doesn't stay on topic and in a little OCD about assignments. Tests are hard and sometimes don't make sense.
This is a good class to take if you're not interested in the sciences, but need it for generals. Galli makes it possible to get a good grade. His demonstrations were very entertaining. I'd recommend this class.
Guy is nice and hilarious. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! It really helps you study for the exams and raises your grade a lot. I wish I did it all. He even goes over the extra credit topics in class so take good notes. A very nice professor, good guy for an easy grade
Awesome professor, very interesting demonstrations.
Great professor! A little odd at times, but he's a great guy. If you do his "extra credit" aka homework you will pass the class with ease.
Galli is an awesome professor! I really learned a lot in his class. Get this, he does not assign homework. However, If you take notes and turn them in the next class day he will give you extra credit! Also he takes role but that is also counted as extra credit! I recommend going to class and taking the notes. Tests were very straight forward.
I freaking love Galli! He is so enthusiastic about the subject and just makes it really simple to understand. He does a lot of demonstrations and is very good with extra credit. I definitely recommend him.
Best professor ever!!! The sobject is not easy but he helps a lot. It 's very easy to work with him, he always gives very clear examples.
If you took basic physics class in high school, you'll be golden for this class. He literally goes over the EXACT same concepts taught in a high school basic physics class. I promise.
This class is way easy. Your grade is only from tests but there is enough extra credit offered to take a grade from a C to an A. Read the textbook, do the extra credit, and go to the class. Easy A.
His lectures were given almost directly from the book. All your points are based on tests, unless you want to do a daily "extra credit" assignment which he spend more time explaining than lecturing. When he does lecture his in-class demonstrations are supplemented with videos of him doing the experiment, and then he just rambles on from there.
He's fairly old, but it's fun to actually be there. He gives opportunity for extra credit! Highly recommend.
I loved Prof. Galli, he was one of my favorites. The class made you work but it was never hard. He teaches well and an A is very obtainable if you do the few homeworks and study a bit for the test. I loved the class.
I loved Dr. Galli! He kept class interesting and wasn't too hard. Your entire grade is based on your three tests, but if you take notes according to his guidelines every day, he gives you a lot of extra credit and he also offers other extra credit opportunities. I really enjoyed this class, so take it! Highly recommend you get the textbook.
I literally went to class around ten times and received a B. If you know anything about physics or chemistry you're pretty well set. He also follows the book exactly.
He was very rude and unclear. He is very "old fashioned." He is great if, and only if, you are really good at physics. He does not teach, he reviews and expects you to move as fast as he does. This class will be a breeze if you've taken physics before. He doesn't exactly make you feel comfortable to ask questions. I would avoid his classes.
I can't decide what I thought of this teacher. I went in and out of his tests thinking I was going to fail and came out with an A in the class. He knows physics very well and is not shy to brag about it. The one thing that bugged me is when a student asks questions he will mock them, however, the questions do get answered.
Galli is an amazing professor! I have never taken physics in my life before taking his 1010 course. I loved it and now really enjoy physics. Make sure you sit towards the front because sometimes he talks kind of quietly. Try to do the extra credit also. By far my favorite professor I had this year!
He's very passionate about what he teaches, he definitely knows what he is talking about. He offers lots of extra credit, so make sure to do it! The tests come straight from the Outline topics, so study that!
Gali spends half of every period tooting his own horn or rambling about non physics stuff. He has been teaching for 50+ years so he is very old school and resistant to change. He shows clips of himself doing experiments. When he does attempt an experiment in class he spends most of they time trying to figure out the equipment. horrible class
I got a B only going to class around 60-70% of the time. The only parts I didn't like is you HAVE to take his test IN CLASS and if you miss it you're screwed. Also his text book for physics 1010 was $130 with his notes in it (making it non-refundable) I honestly used his book twice through the whole semester, I could have used google instead.
I'll admit it, this class kicked my butt. Dr. Galli is super funny, but most of his lectures went way over my head. He doesn't follow the book very closely. Grading is based on three multiple-choice exams. If you take notes from his lectures, he gives you extra credit. And he grades on a curve. Still, I'm surprised I passed.
Extra credit saved me! I had never had physics, so his tests seemed very difficult. I probably earned a B-, but because of all the extra credit, I ended with an A. Go to class, take notes and do the extra credit. His lectures were confusing, but overall the class wasn't too bad. He says you need the textbook, but I googled everything I needed.
This class is a joke. Just coming to class is extra credit. He has a weird way of making fun of people who ask questions while seeming friendly. He always finds a way to brag about himself, and is probably my least favorite teacher, just based on his attitude. Requires a seating chart. Doesn't treat students like adults. Condescending. Rude.
Galli's class made me feel like I was back in high school with the teacher everyone despised. Sure he got some laughs out of the class but it's not worth the disrespect. His lectures are long. 90% of the things he said had no worth. Easy to pass but you WILL want to shoot yourself. I could teach this class better, DONT BUY THE BOOK! Not on canvas
Professor Galli is an awesome professor and passionate about the subject he teaches. His in class demonstrations brings his lectures to life providing a better perspective to what is going on. He has lots of extra credit opportunities. His office is a comfortable and friendly environment, he will help you with any physicsmath problems you have.
If you show up, do your work and act like a big college boy or girl, then you will pass. His lectures can hilarious complete with elaborate props and demonstrations. If you have questions approach him before or after class because he seems annoyed at having to stop a lecture to answer questions right then and there. Maybe he's pressed for time
Easy class but he does ramble a lot. If you try to follow everything he says you will get confused. I have learned to stop listening once he starts rambling on about a concept that is too advanced for the class and that we won't even be tested on. He brags a lot and sort of mocks students when they ask a question, even if he doesn't mean to.
He is an antique. He goes off topic constantly. At times he appears senile. He uses transparent slides, I haven't seen those since the 90's. His extra credit is a joke. Make sure you bring a pencil so you can fill out his attendance sheet.
Lectures are hard to understand. He begins to talk about one topic and then says " Oh I've gone to far into this" and stops, talks about his glory days alot, uses his own personal movies for demenstrations most of the time. Its an easy class to pass with all the extra credit he gives, but his whole teaching method is confusing all together
Dr. Galli is a great professor. This has been my favorite class. I do love physics though. He offers a lot of extra credit and his tests aren't hard if you study well before the test. I didn't do extra credit work and still passed with flying colors. He likes talking about physics and answering questions. He's a very inspirational professor for me.
Dr. Galli is super nice and loves teaching about physics. If you do not already have an understanding of physics, you may find this class to be a little difficult. He is not always clear in his lectures and does have a tendency to rant on about random things. However, he offers a lot of extra credit. If you do the extra credit, you will pass.
Professor Galli teaches with an older style. He is very intelligent and sometimes what he teaches will go right over your head. To get an A all you have to do is show up to class and do the extra credit he offers. Doing the extra credit alone is worth 2 letter grades. Tests aren't the easiest, but if you study the outline topics you'll pass.
Confusing, stumbled on his words constantly, and he tried way too hard showing us these ridiculous experiments that were irrelevant to the subject we were learning.
By far the best Instructor at Weber thus far. I thoroughly enjoy this class and I have never taking physics before now. He makes lectures very interesting and Is very funny. Offers a lot of extra credit. Would definitely take from him again.
goes of on tangents, I found him hard to follow
The homework was more optional, and if you did it, you got extra credit. The lectures got a little boring at times, but there were some fun lessons. It was pretty good, and is an easier class to pass. He is a great guy.
Galli is has very organized outlines for every lecture that he hands out so you cant get lost in his class. Your grade is based on exams only, easy exams, and he does not give homework. He does, however, give tons of extra credit just for showing up and taking notes. You would have to really try to fail this class.
Galli is a good professor who clearly cares about the subject he's teaching, the only thing you get graded on in the class are the tests but there are many extra credit opportunities. He gets sidetracked and rambles on sometimes in lectures but for the most part the class is easy to follow and fairly easy to pass.
Galli is great! This class is an easy A as long as you do the extra credit and pay attention to his lectures. Tests are straight forward. If you're looking for an easy general credit that you'll enjoy, I definitely recommend this class!
Galli is such a funny guy. He made the class entertaining and obviously knows physics very well. He gives extra credit - just turn in notes. Grades on attendance so show up, but classes are good and he lectures and goes over stuff we're unclear on. Very good on taking questions and tests were okay. Very organized and spices up classes with humor
Lots of in class demonstrations makes it easy to understand the topics. Grade is weighed entirely on three very fair exams, all multiple choice, but he offers SO MUCH extra credit opportunity, it's hard not to get anything above a B.
He is a good professor with a passion for teaching. Took introductory physics from him and had fun, but didn't feel like I learned a lot. Does well showing "experiments" to help the class learn. Very, VERY lecture heavy though, and if you don't attend lecture you will struggle. Good man, fine professor. 3/5
I have an issue with the A I received in this class..... It was oppressive.
I really enjoyed taking physics 1010 from Dr. Galli. He is incredibly smart. He gives you every chance to pass the class. Gives out tons of extra credit. Definitely need to be in class to pass. He makes lectures fun and interesting.
