This class was really easy to be Math 2. Mr. Kostyrko is such a sweet man. I totally recommend him, but I have one suggestion, make sure you are there during test reviews, they help out soooo much!

If u learn well from the books take his online stats class. Always willing to help and understanding. Don't ask for help on math q's though. Not always available. Call him at home in the morning, took me step by step. Get a tutor if ur not a-okay with math. System had some problems, overall "at least i passed"!

I have to admit that this instructor is very simple compared to other Math Instructors. I plan on taking him for a Statistics Class Online just because I thought he was very helpful and easy. I know he tried to help me as much as he could. He does not grade on a curve just to let students know. I love his teaching method and would highly recommend.

Kostyrko is an interesting man, i just dont enjoy him as a teacher. he DOES enjoy lecturing, so if lectures are your thing and you are a good at math, go ahead and take his class. Otherwise he can be unclear. Thumbs down overall, i prefer Dr. Owell for Math 2.

i have to admit, sicne it was an online class, I didn't put as much effort into it as i could've, and I actually forgot to take an exam once!! he let me take it over. he wants you to learn, so he allows you to take quizzes over if you score a certain percentage on them. i think his class is well worth taking!

This teacher is a really good guy who will cut you a little slack when he knows your in a bind. His class is a little hard because everything is online and all you do in class is take notes.

This teacher is great. His Math1 course is quite easy with the coursecompass website. I took his math1 course in the summer...long hours of class everyday [[attendance is not mandatory]]...but it was fun sometimes. This teacher really likes math, I guess mathematics is his world. Take his class, midterm and final exams are not very hard.

I'm not a big fan of math at all. I don't think I ever have been, either. But that aside, Mr. Kostyrko is a good teacher. He's quite experienced in mathematics, and he knows what he's talking about. He's a bit strict with using certain mathematical terms and phrases, but he's not overly extreme. He is funny at certain times, and is also nice! :)

I don't know about how he is in person, but online he was good. He answered all emails in a timely manner and was helpful when I had asked him questions. The class itself is extremely time consuming. I would not recommend it unless you have the time. You are allowed to retake quizzes and test multiple times, so it is well worth it.

Highly recommend, however there is alot of work. Tests and quizzes can be taken more than once and homeworks have no due date as long as you get them done. Class was over the internet so you can work whenever you have time. He is a great math teacher and make sure to take him for all of your other math classes.

This professor is a great professor. It is a lot of work, so if you are not disciplined to apply time consuming work into your life and other classes then it will be difficult for one to catch up. Easy A. I am an idiot in math and the online class was awesome. All H/W is left open so you can go back and imporove your grade. Quizes and tests could be taken multiple times and the final twice. It is impossible to fail this class.

Super easy, Math 10 in the Fall semester of 2010 is my easiest class! I got 100% on the midterm, anyone who drops his class must not have common sense. I would retake him over and over, and I have for all 3 semesters of my math. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Took his class online and it was great. He'll give you extentions if you need more time to finish them. Plus, he even extended the whole chapter for 2 more weeks after the semester was done, so that you can boost up your grade. A really nice and cool teacher. Always answer emails promptly. Very good teacher.Math 3 is one of the hardest math. Although most of the class failed the midterm first time, he gave us 2 more chances. 50% of the grade was homework and quizzes which was online. Other 50% was midterm and final. Overall, a very good,funny professor and really care about his student.

This class had some challenging material in it but so do most math courses. He made it easy to understand by presenting information in a different way from the text and online sections. If you need help all you have to is ask questions. The class was 30% homework 20% quizzes and 50% Mid&Final Exams. He will let you retake eveything but the Final.

Mr. Kostyrko is an excellent math teacher! Everything is very clear, in depth, and informative. Great at explaning mathematical concepts, and his sense of humor keeps you going! I took him for 38A&B and absolutely loved his teaching style! I have yet to encounter another math professor that can keep up with his clarity and understanding of the material. Probably my favorite math professor ever-i hope to take him again soon! These classes are demanding though and you must attend everyday if you want to fully understand!

This class was great. All HW was open from the start and never closed. There was 12 quiz's one for each HW Ch had to get 50% to go to next Quiz. 4 Test 3 for 3 sets of HW and then the Final all online. He gave us 3 hours on quiz's and let us re-take them up to 3-4 times. Extend due dates to help us at times.

Professor Kostyrko is the greatest! The course was easy as long as you do your homework, practice on the study guides, and refer to the examples. I used the textbook a few times, because the examples/videos were enough to learn from. Passed with an A both courses I took with him! Replies to all emails promptly. Awesome teacher!

I took this class during the summer so it was only 6 weeks! Terrible idea for someone with a busy schedule and a second class, but the assignments can be done multiple times, and the professor reopened everything before the end of class so we could try to improve our scores. That's a pretty sweet deal. Don't fall behind!! There's a lot to learn.

I don't know why this professor was marked low by some students. He gives multiple chances to take quizzes and tests and if you email him to give you another chance to retake a quiz test he will allow you to, if you do the work you decide what grade you get. I got an A, I think he is a fair and good professor, just do the work.

I was lucky to take this class online. Hw can be done at anytime and he gives multiple tries and extensions for tests. He also gave extensions up to the final so you can continue to work on your final grade. I learned a lot and the teacher was very helpful.

By far one of the best teachers I've had. He always extended quizzes due dates to make room for improvement. He even let us re-take the midterm and gave us equations that we didn't remember on the final and midterm! Math hw wasn't so difficult and quizzes were doable. Mad respect for him for being able to remember and explain stats by heart.

I respect Professor Kostyrko. He is very straight forward & blunt. I found him funny but you can' take his jokes personally or else you will be offended. You have to speak up bc he can't hear that well. Other than that, grading is easy. Mid-term & Final is okay. He doesn't require the bk but the access code for online hw & quizzes.

Great teacher, very clear on grading criteria. Whatever you have on the my math lab is usually close to what you actually have. 11 questions on midterm and final. Gives more than enough chances to redo quizzes. You don't have to go to class, as long as you do your online work. Don't take his humor seriously, otherwise you will get offended

He's a great teacher. Took his online class and whenever I missed a quiz he would be understanding enough to extend it. His class was very easy. Allowed us to take the quizzes 3 times and final and mid term 2 times. He would sometimes extend the dates for the quizzes.

I took this class online. It was wonderful, I was a full time student and full time worker. This professor was able to give you so many chances for you to bring up your grades. Mr Kostyrko is a top class professor. He will let you re-do any assignment or quiz as many times as you need. No penalization for late work. The only in-class work is the mid and final. I wish I could give 5 stars all across, but Stats are not an easy subject for most, including me. This professor made every effort to help his students pass this class, including letting you retake quizzes as many times as you needed without penalty. That saved my bacon by the end of the class. BEST TEACHER EVER! He's a funny man, in class lectures basically just examples of the homework, everything is on MyMathLab except for the Midterm and Final. Lets you retake the Midterm/Final for better grades! He seriously wants his students to pass he lets you retake quizzes. He has due dates for HW but you could go back and better your grade.

He is a real nice guy and very good looking, I adore the accent. I took him for intro to physics and he is good at explaining, and will allow retries. He is pretty hard when it comes to tests, one of the hardest classes I have had actually, but I am sure he will make up for it somehow. He is very thorough in his explaining and I love the labs.

Physics literally comes straight from his brain he has no notes or anything. His lectures are by far the best, sometimes I feel like I am at a University and not a community college. This is my second class with Mr. K. This guy is a beast when it comes to math. I always rate my professors at the end of the semester, so this is Mr K's 2nd review from me. You couldn't ask for a better math teacher. I am already signed up for his pre-calc class next semester. I will take his math classes up the the highest level that he offers.

Took the class online, so it was mostly 2-3 hw per week, Chapter tests (about 7) and a midterm and final. There were no lectures or any of that, just do the homework weekly, take the tests before they're due and you're good. Hw is open to complete all semester, and Tests are reopened occasionally so make sure to check your email.

I took Math92s online with Professor Kostyrko. Let me say, he is AMAZING. Although it is an online course, he is there for you. He responds quick to emails. He is super understanding when it comes to taking quizzes and exams. He will open the quizzes after there due date. I could've gotten an A but I was not on it the way I should have been.

I would not have passed STATS without Professor Kostyrko. He gives you many chances to make up for quizzes that you missed or even if you didn't do so well the first time. I love teachers like him and recommend his class if you need a math credit.

Kostyrko was a great online teacher. Online classes are always complicated. But this teacher was really open about giving you extra chances on doing homework and quizzes. Even when the quizzes were weeks old there was always a chance to better your score. Really flexible with your grade.

If you're able to teach yourself, take this class. Everything is all online, even the midterm & final. He gives multiple do-over's on all quizzes & even the midterm, you have to email him & ask him to open it. Hmwk is always open, theres no due date. He doesnt really respond to his Delta email, he responds to the email that he gives in his syllabus

This professor is respected by many of us because he only wants us to do well. For my stats class, after it ended in the Fall, he posted up grades but left our class open so we could continue the class on our own if we'd like to work up a better grade. It took me until the end of Spring and I met that new grade cut off. BEST, BUT THE HARDEST CLASS.

Only take easy classes with this professor. Easy classes meaning algebra, precalculus, and math12 statistics. Don't take hard classes like math3 with him. He is a genious but when it comes to advance math, the whole class is lost. Good guy tho, but expects smart people in his classes.

This was my fourth class with Kostyrko. His classes are very user friendly. I like mymathlab. He will let anyone re-take the midterm, and you can re-do other assignments. He is sometimes a little rushed during his lectures which makes them a little hard to follow, especially during more advanced subjects, but this is made up for with his leniency

This professor gives you many attempts to pass class. You can retake midterm and continue working on homework to improving your grade. Lectures were often rushed but the subject itself is not hard.

Professor Kostyrko is great! His class is half online, half in class. Attenend class every day or you'll get behind. All of the tests and homework are online and he gives you many opportunities to improve your grade. The midterm and final exam are both in class and if you do the practice questions he gives you, you should do fairly well on them.

Be clear in your notes. His lectures are clear but fast-paced in the 2-day/week classes. Buy the online code and don't worry about the textbook.

Easy class, He gives you sample final and midterm exams and retakes for them. Mymathlab has like 4-5 quzizes and they count for about 30% of ur grade i believe, sometimes he works problems in a weird way. Make you ask questions if you get confused, He is a nice guy a little funny dad jokes so often.

HW assignments about 3-4/ chapter (4-15 Q/ assignment) and you have a week to complete with a quiz due at the end of the week. Each problem is given a step by step example, which made it very easy to understand. Infinite tries on HW questions, about 3 attempts for quizzes/tests. 3 cumulative tests including final. Gives a lot of extensions!

If you study properly and do your work, you will pass this class! Took Stats online with him. You're given a weekly set of homework problems and a quiz for that section. You get lots of chances to improve your score/retake quizzes. If you put in the effort, it will pay off! I'm terrible at math and I did decent! Highly recommended!!

Love prof. kostyrko, hes super funny!! the work is ALOT but its on mymathlab so it makes it easier. I recommend buying the access code on amazon, dont think anyone wants to pay like $106.

I took this professor for 38a and b and with 38a I got an A, and I suck at math... 38b however, I received a C but that was my lack of putting effort in. He is really approachable and answers questions and an over all great instructor. He really wants you to succeed and I would definitely take any classes he teaches.

Im horrible at math and still surprised I made it this far. His class was definitely tough but I was able to pass with a B. Just as long as you keep up with the homework/quizzes and study hard for the two exams, youll do fine! Unlimited attempts on homework and 5 attempts on the quizzes. I took him for Precalc 38A and hes a real gem. He knows how to do good lectures and if you dont understand it, he will try to explain it as best he can. This professor is hilarious and laid back. The exam reviews are similar to the tests and he allows a retake of the mid-term. He gives partial credit, but he does expect to see the work in correct form. You have the whole semester to do homework and quizzes with retakes. Mr. Jacek is the definition of someone who's beliefs are confined to the "attending class is better than an online class." There are people who would think he is boring, lame, and awful at teaching. I can see how but he is actually funny, smart, and kind to students. He lets us redo midterms and FINAL EXAMS after the semester is over!

I had to retake this class because the first time I took this class i was completely lost because of this crazy "phd professor" who didn't give a damn about the students. This second time the Homework is online and the study guide have similar problems and the professor isn't a harsh professor he understands we have a life outside of class.

Had him online, class was clearly structured with a normal workload. I'm not the best in math, and just needed a sunday afternoon - evening every week. Multiple attempts are also allowed on all quizzes and midterm / final, even after the original mentioned deadline, so all you have to do is do the work, learn from your mistakes, and you'll get an A

All the homework is online, only the lectures, one midterm, and one final are in person. Its a tough course but the load is light. His humor is kinda dry sometimes and can come off as rude but he's a very caring person and means well. I sat in another profs class for a day, and Kostyrko is way better IMO.

Gives you 5 tries to pass Quiz, Mid Term/Final 3 tries, Homework is unlimited. Should get 100% every homework. Probably would be easier in person because you have to learn how to use StatCrunch by yourself. He responds quickly which helps. Whole course is based on using StatCrunch and it can get frustrating but once you do its easy. Ask for help!

Only reason I put 5 for difficulty is because most of the questions need you to use StatCrunch or excel and it can be difficult to figure it out. Good thing is he responds quickly. He gives you a ton of tries for everything and even extends the midterm + quizzes till the last day. Theres zero reason to fail this class gives you so many chances.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He is so nice and caring, and answer super fast. There is literally no reason why you shouldn't get 100% in this class. You get unlimited attempts on homework, 6 attempts on quizzes, and 4 attempts on exams. He also extends anything (even the exams) and gives you additional tries if you need any. Best class ever!

If you need to take a stats class, take it with professor Kostyrko. He is so understanding, and will help you no matter what. He will always open up past homeworks, quizzes and even exams to make sure you get the grade you want and he also provides so many attempts. There is no reason why you shouldn't succeed in this class. You won't regret it.

This class was overall pretty easy. You are required to purchase a textbook that has all of your coursework. There are a few homework assignments and one quiz each week. Professor Kostyrko lets you retake quizzes and exams. I would recommend this class to everyone!

Take this prof if you want an easy A. You still have to do the work but he gives you SO much time to do so. Hw is available the whole semester (recommend doing them on time w quizzes tho since some of the ?s are the same), 1 quiz/wk but usually gets extended 3-7days, 6 attempts & 4hr each attempt to take a maybe 20 ? quiz. Very understanding prof

Awesome teacher that cares about his specialty but is also understanding about people's situations. All assignments available from start of semester. Used Pearson for assignments. Keep in mind that astronomy is a tough subject: a lot of reading and numbers. I skimmed other reviews here and they generally seemed accurate. Questions in final = assgnQ

This Professor is very sweet and easygoing. This class was very easy, full credit for late work. You have to stay on top of your work cause hmwk is pretty hefty, but you have plenty of chances to get a good grade. Easy-ish A.

Honest opinion here: This professor is extremely understanding with his students. Miss a deadline for an important exam? No problem. He will work with you and even extend it. No need to stress in this class. You have plenty of attempts for each assignment. As long as you put in the effort, you will get an A. Also, STATCRUNCH is a life safer.

This guy is so chill and nice. Honestly, you use Pearson to do all your assignments/tests for this class. You can retake anything as much as you want pretty much and he usually always gives extensions. USE STATCRUNCH AND MYMATHLAB ON YOUTUBE. Your grade is pretty much based on how much time and effort you're willing to give.

Not an easy class, but the professor is great. Need an extension? He readily provided it, and he even extended the deadline for all assignments until the end of the semester. Struggling with a question on homework or a quiz? He would review it in class, and we were allowed to retake quizzes as many times as needed. Attendance is not mandatory.

Super kind, understanding and FLEXIBLE. Learn how to use StatCrunch, it will SAVE you. Make sure to look through his notes. Gave us multiple attempts on HW (re/take ANYTIME), quizzes, midterm, and final. I took pictures and YouTube, no notes. An A possible, it depends on your effort and time management! Very good if cannot attend in person :-D

Professor was great but class wasn't for me since I struggled keeping up through online.

This professor is extremely nice. If you were to forget an assignment or fail the assignment, he most likely will extend it till the next week. Same with quizzes. By the end of the class, he will most likely extend all assignments until the last day. So you have as many attempts as needed to pass.

I took jacek over the summer, even though my counselor said not to. It was fully online, but he made it easy with notes on every chapter on Canvas. Plus, he was super understanding when we needed an extension, and I was able to complete most of the assignments the last week to get an A. He's a great prof that gives you multiple tries on everything!

Midway thru SU24 semester I dropped the class with a W. After the class was OVER, he reached out to me and said if I wanted to finish the class, he would make sure the W would get changed on my transcripts! I finished the class with a 75%! And my grade became a C as he said. He has a heart of gold; I've never had a prof care so much about students!

Flexible professor who gives multiple chances to succeed. Use StatCrunch and YouTube - they're more helpful than the textbook. Effort and time management are key for an A. Unstuck study is also a great study aid.

I recommend doing the in person class if you truly want to learn the material. The way he teaches is VERY easy to understand. He's probably one of the best math teachers I ever had. You get multiple retries for the homework and quizzes and test, so the only way you can fail is if you don't try.

This class was really hard at first but this professor is awesome. I got dropped from not doing assignments on time but within a few days from calling him about the situation, he was able to put me back in. He gives lots of opportunities and EXTENSIONS for students to pass the class so if you do not pass it, I honestly would be surprised.

Amazing Professor, very lenient. Cares more about our understanding of the material then a set deadline. Replies quickly and more then helpful.

Took summer course.Lots of assignments,readings,&videos per chapter.I struggled with first half on matrices,but Pearson provided many resources&so does the Professor.2nd half on probability which the final focuses on.Struggled but got through,plus professor extended all dates of assignments and exams to improve grades.Very lenient and caring!
