What a great guy. Aside from being a lot of fun, his comments about your writing are very helpful. His fiction class is the only one of my classes I never skipped...and that says something. Take him if at all possible.

Best teacher I have ever had. I wanted to go to class everyday. He is so down to earth and helps you with anything. Cancels class a lot or lets you out early. Assignments are fun. Take him, its the best class.

He is a nice guy but his attendancy policy sucks. Its almost like your back in high school. He lets you read interesting stuff. He has three papers plus any he makes you write in class. One group project. Make sure to email him before class if you can't make it. Participate in class it helps your grade a whole heck of alot.

If only the rest of my teachers were like him. He is great. I loved his class and participate and raise your hand a lot and participate some more and do his projects it will be the easiest "A" you ever get. Wonderful teacher. Please take him.

It's a very interesting class but his attendance policy sucks big time! He also gives a lot of work and can sometime be disorganized. But even if you're not the best of all writers, just come to his class all the time and participate a lot and it's an easy A. But still, there's that "come to class ALL THE TIME" thing that hurts.

This guy is AMAZING!! I only wrote about 4 papers the entire semester and they were so easy. The research paper was the easiest thing I have ever written in my life. He makes a boring GenEd class seem fun and easy. Even if you hate English with all your being, this class is not bad at all. He's a fun guy who really enjoys what he's teaching and guarantees that you can't fail unless you don't show up. Not too much work, the essays are easy and class goes by quickly. DON'T MISS CLASS!!! Other than that pretty cool guy. English is not my thing but i enjoyed going to class. He keeps things interesting. My grade was based on 1, 20 pg paper and 3 other one pagers. attendance will kill your grade i don't care how good of a writer you are.

Like everyone said, go to class! Poor attendance is the only thing that will screw you up. Unless you are one of those people who hates everything, you will enjoy this class. There are a few readings, a couple of 1-3 page papers and one 20 page paper. Even still its fiction- you make the whole thing up. You can't beat that.

he is awesome. if you go to the class, and do all the homework it is an easy A. the papers are easy, but you have one research paper, but its not hard if you start early. he is always willing to help and will work with you. if you have the opportunity to take him....DO IT! you will not regret it!!!!

This class is really easy with a few simple assignments and a group presentation. Alot of it is discussion based and he keeps it interesting. Alot of times he is all over the place and you have to keep him on track and its pretty funny. The only downside is that attendance is mandatory.

He's the best professor I've had--hands down. Going to his class was the highlight of my day--even doing the homework for this class was fun. The discussion and comfort level in his class is ridiculous. I'll recommend him to absolutely anybody. If you're not a fan of English, he'll change your mind. Take his class.

He is a great professor who actually cares about the students. Very sarcastic and funny. Not the easiest class but definitely bearable, if you apply yourself and do the assignments he will give you an A or high B.

One of the most fun classes I've ever taken. Don't know if I'll ever use these skills in a job, but I know that he taught me how plot structure and character development. These ideas help you enjoy novels and movies, and give you something to talk about with your friends, and other people. Pretty easy grader too.

Definitely best the best teacher I have had yet. He is fun, and really knows what he is talking about. I would DEFINITELY recommend taking him! Just don't be late to class, that is one thing he is strict on. Other than that, he is an amazing teacher! I would love to have him again!!!

Take him. Its college. You have to write papers but its extremelyyy easy. He's a real nice guy who's real involved with his class and students. Wants everyone to do good and teach you life lessons. Hands down one of the best teachers I've had.

He is a fun teacher and it is a fun class. It's college, you're going to have to write papers, but he makes it not seem so bad. He lets you out early most days and will give you reading days. He jokes around in class to make it fun. He's not always clear about what he's talking about, but as long as you read the books you'll be fine.

Easy. Not a lot of work all you have to do is read 3 books. 2 of them are interesting, the other one is kind of boring. In class discussions everyday and hardly ever any graded work.

Best professor I've ever had. He is relaxed and has reading quizzes once in a while. Three essays that are easy are the majority of the grade. He is so easy to distract and is knowledgeable too! Extra credit for coming to class and he is so hotttttt!

Take it with Carneal. He is a really cool guy and makes this course fun. When I first signed up for the class, I was not looking forward to taking it, but Carneal makes it worth showing up. Learned a lot and relates the class to the business world.

Dr. Carneal is a great professor, but definitely only take this class if you love writing. It is a lot of work, and I am a science major thus wasn’t used to it. I ended up spending at least four hours every time I had an assignment. Not recommended if you already have a heavy workload. But definitely try taking a class with him before you graduate!

Jack Carneal is an awesome professor. Non-English, but he made this class one of my favorites I had to take. He's a little corny, but has a great sense of humor and makes a difficult course easier to understand and getting an A possible with some effort. Attendance is a MUST but class is entertaining and interesting. goes above to help you achieve

Carneal is one of the greatest professors I've ever had. He makes the class an extremely comfortable environment. And he's so funny. Grades heavily on class attendance on participation. So DON'T SKIP. One group project, a case study, usually easy homework every class, exams are easy if you study. Do your work, as for help. Awesome guy

Professor Carneal is awesome. He gives you a clear outline for every assignment so, doing it wrong would really be crazy (unless you don't show up). On that note attendance is mandatory and if you miss a class you better have a note. He is really fun and his classes are geared to helping you in the real world. Assignments aren't difficult.

Carneal really tries to get you ready for life after college. The material is not very difficult, but make sure you read over your papers. Prof. Carneal will not hesitate to take points of for careless mistakes. Make sure you read what the homework is. Beware of a 12 page paper on problems facing the industry you plan to work in.
