I have always disliked math. Jack is very patient and understanding. He will keep working the issue until you get it. He explains in a way you will understand. After taking Jack's class I am motivated to keep taking Math.For you new comers this is the instructor for you. No intimidation from Jack. He has a great attitude and a wonderful spirit.

Mr. Gill is an excellent prof. very clear and helpful. I recomend him to everyone I know. I passed his class with an A, took math 70 and with the knowledge from his class I got an A in math 70. Now its spring 2007 and I'm taking statistics. Use the math xl program that comes with the new books it will help if you are not good at math.

This is the third time I have taken math 70 and I was pretty sure I would be passing with a C or worse. Mature, Witty, Fun but get's right down to the class lecture & explains each chapter step-by-step for your understanding. With good attendance, completed homework assignments and high test scores, getting an "A" should be a cinch.

One of the best teachers at El Camino Compton Center, explains the work, you leave out of his class with a smile on your face knowing you have learned and understood everything that he explains. Very nice Professor! Attendence is NOT MANDATORY which is awsome show up two classes before the test so you know when they are, once you catch on to hoe long the lessons take its easy he goes slow, but its really easy to understand!

I honestly don't understand these ratings.. I have no clue how this professor could get such high reviews. First Off, His Voice is so monotone it will drive you crazy. No offensive Prof. Gill Second, he does not explain every single thing in detail, so if you don't already understand everything too bad. Test are simple, Lectures are long. Nice Guy.

He is the best teacher ever! Very laid back attitude, explains everything well, makes jokes to keep class bareable, and VERY EASY TESTS! hes like the coolest old guy ever :D

Mr. Gill is an excellent instructor. He is passionate about his work, he spends Extra time helping students, and he gives students every opportunity to succeed. He is animated and funny and he makes the class interesting. I never enjoyed or understood math before I took his class. I highly recommend him for any math class.

He is a great teacher. He goes through what he is teaching very thoroughly. He prepares you for the tests and goes over the tests with you. Homework is optional but it really helps with tests. If you pay attention to him going through his lesson plan you will pass this class easily.

Mr. Gill is an exceptional teacher. he is very smart, knowledgeable, and willing to help anyone of his students. i had a great time in Mr Gill's class and i would take his for another class if i could. as long as you show up ON TIME, do the homework and take an hour or two out of your day to study you WILL pass.

Mr. Gill is very fair in all areas. He is very approachable, available for questions, explains difficult problems in a way that is easy to comprehend, and has a sense of humor that most lack. Although he gives ample time for homework, don't try to do it "last-minute!"; we had 11 sections assigned prior to each exam (we had 5 exams). Fun Class!

Mr. Gill is hands down the best professor for people with math anxiety, like myself. Mr. Gil is a fair grader, do your homework and study, but if you suck at math you will magically understand with his teaching. TAKE HIM!

very clear, answers questions, doesn't get off topic. I've always been horrible in math but because of the way he teaches i have a way better understanding of the subject now. The book is only needed for hw. Before the tests he has a review of all the sections that will be on the test. Would definitely take again.

He is one of the best professors I've had! He is funny and loves to teach. He assigns hw every night but doesn't need to be turned in till exam day. I suggest do it every night. He doesn't require the text so you shouldn't buy it. Just go to the library and look at that book. He gives extra credit problems at the end of the exams.

Awesome Teacher. Goes over the lectures enough that you understand the sections plenty. Drops lowest test. Just do all the homework and you should pass the test and class easy.

Mr Gill was a GREAT math teacher -- the best one I ever had. I was afraid to take Statistics for years due to all the horror stories I heard about how hard it was. Mr Gill brought hard to understand math problems down to a layman's level -- very understandable and easy. You can't miss any class though. Got an A -- the only A I ever got in math.

As a person who hates math and has a difficult time understanding it; Professor Gil was amazing! He is extremely kind, helpful, and patient. He doesn't call people out randomly nor makes any student go up to the board and work out problems. He offers tutoring before and after class; he also gives you other options for tutoring. This professor is very old, but very young at heart. He is always trying to sound cool and hip and is very adorable. As for the class, do all the homework and pay attention during lecture, and you'll be fine. He is happy to answer any questions you have. He does speak quietly so you might want to try to get a spot near the front.

Great professor! You will have to do some studying, so pay attention and do the little homework he assigns. The lectures are easy to understand and he will go over something if you ask. I hated math, but he made me realize I'm actually competent. He also drops one lowest test grade. Super lenient and understanding! Ask him for help if you need it.

I do not like math at all plus it's been along time since I've had to do math problems. He made me feel like I can do it. He didn't take attendance but knew our names. He reached out to the class if they needed extra help. He gave plenty of extra credit which was amazing ! I wish I could take him again for math 73!

Math was never my favorite but he made it fun he really takes the time to make sure everyone understands. Possibly the best math teacher I ever had. I took Pro. Gill for the winter session. You have to show up to every class in order to understand the homework and test. THE most important days to show up is the day he covers the mock exams. He pretty much gives you the test but with different numbers. I got A's on all of my exams.

If you're lucky enough to get a seat in his class, stay on top of homework, study and don't miss a class and take photos of lecture slides at the end of class. Mr. Gill takes the fear out of taking Statistics, he explains that crazy math subject and breaks it down for anyone to understand the concepts. You will pass this class if it's with Mr. Gill. Just participate, do your homework and DO NOT miss Mock Test Days!

Gill is the best math teacher I've ever heard, he doesn't try to overload his students during lectures. If your stuck or confused about something he would simply go back and re explain that specific problem so your not left behind. He gives extra credit and does test reviews which is very similar to the actual test so don't be absent that day

Attendance is really important. Professor has 4 tests in total-(no final) so it is important that you do very well on test 1 and test 2, because test 3 is extremely difficult. The other three tests are pretty easy if you study. His tests are usually very similar to the review questions, so do not miss the reviews. I hate math and got an A.

Professor gill is amazing! I took him in the summer after having failed math 73 with ms. Alpern. I failed all her tests with Fs and passed all his with As that should tell you a lot. He gives a test every week but the day before he gives a great practice test (VERY SIMILAR TO THE TEST).

Given, statistics is SO HARD and the class was at 6:30am, he would give his best effort in teaching the material we needed to know for the exams by "spoon feeding" us. DO NOT miss his mock exam days, it will be identical to the actual exam.

Im currently taking his online course and its such an easy class to pass. Ive always struggled with math but his lectures are straight forward and the tests are exactly like the study guide. Along with that the homework is fairly easy as well.

He really makes stats easy to understand. Homework is short and simple! By doing extra practice problems and paying attention to the ES on the notes and to the practice exam, itll make the exams easier. Make sure to use your second exam attempt if you dont earn the grade you like; hell give you the higher score. 5 exams in total; no final!

This was my 3rd time taking Stats and I finally understood it. It's asynchronous so be careful you can easily fall behind. His lectures are straight to the point, when it comes to the exams DO THE PRACTICE EXAM. It's basically the exact same as the exam, so do it!! There is no final exam, 5 exams in total. I was terrified for years to take statistics, but Mr. Gill made it soooo easy to pass. Before his class I thought I was terrible at math. Took his class online, and youll pass if you do the HW, listen to his lectures and do the practice exams. The practice exams are almost the exact same as the actual test. Just switches around the numbers.

Do yourself a favor and take Professor Gill!! Took this class over the winter and it was SO manageable. He provides prerecorded video lectures that are so easy to follow along. Professor Gill makes Stats simple to understand. Watch the lectures and do the homework it really helps! Also, his practice exams are legit the same but with diff numbers

Not only did I need Statistics, but I need to truly understand how to do it. The way that he explains and re-explains things is uncommon for a math class and it led me to for once in my life succeed in a math course. He is a gift to your educational journey and should win teacher of the year for finally giving me some math confidence. 10/10 course!

Professor Gill is AMAZING! I would NOT have passed statistics if I would have taken another math teacher. He explains everything so well and does NOT try to trick you. I have never passed a math class before this class. all you have to do is the hm which is due on the day you have to take the exam. exams are rly easy since its based on the practice exam. def recommend.

I loved Professor Gills class. His humor is very amusing and he explains statistics very well. I never thought I would actually understand it. Theres homework on each lesson and 5 big tests, but as long as you study and pay attention you should be good. He actually made me like math a little more.

hes amazing!! hes very patient with everyone, he loves interacting with his students. i only grated him a four bc on the tests, one small mistake and you get a lot of points taken off. homework is worth only a little bit of points. he dedicates a class day strictly for a study guide, which are always similar to what the actual test is like

I had professor Gill for math 150s in-person and honestly is one of the better if not the best math instructor I have ever had! He is a kind older gentleman who will help and explain concepts that you don't quite understand. As long as you put in effort professor Gill will definitely guide you on the path to understanding the concepts!

Showing up to every lecture is extremely important, if you miss one you'll most likely fall behind unless you teach the concepts to yourself. Very good at explaining concepts (sometimes goes a little fast which is understandable given the time crunch) and is always available for extra help. Exams are very similar to practice exams.
