I took MSA 640 online with Professor Jack Hill. Professor Hill is a tremendous instructor. He is a very dedicated, knowledgable, and responsive instructor. Professor Hill distributed powerpoint slides for each chapter than summed up and taught the material better than the textbook. He was quick to answer all e-mail questions.

Very good online class. Material was very straight forward and well presented by the professor. I am not a stats guy, but this was easy for me to understand when I followed his powerpoints and read the text once over. Take home tests are usable format with 7 days to complete them so you have time to look up answers and understand material.

This course was excellent. The professor was very patient with me as I was not accustomed to taking online classes and needed some time to acclimate. He provided prompt feedback on my homework assignments and on the discussion board. I don't prefer online courses but this one was a pleasure.

8 week online course. Professor had everything planned out extremely well. Professor also has self created PowerPoint presentations that will drive home each lesson. The work was also related to real/current life events which made it much easier to understand.

One of the best professors I've had at CMU! He totally understands the working adult. He teaches real life concepts. No need to memorize formulas when you can use Excel to do the work! Open book, notes, internet on midterm. One thing I didn't like was the group work. I prefer to do my own work and get my own grade. However, it all worked OK.

Although this class was not an interest to me and having a challenging time understanding this course Dr. Hill was an excellent instructor. He is a hands on person and has a open door policy which the communication and him contacting you back was great. He does extra things for you if you need additional help, he sets you up to succeed.

Professor Hill, is available outside of class to help and assist with homework and projects. Dr. Hill's teaching techniques makes understanding the formulas and problems much easier than the text.

Dr. Hill is able to synthesize the material into real world situations. He selected portions of the text that from his perspective which students can apply immediately. Easy class online. Time-consuming. Must do about a section per day to be on pace. One learning activity and one homework assignment per section and there are about 40 sections in total. 2 exams and 3 hands-on activities. All accessible online so no textbook needed.
