Mr. Hollinger is the banginest teacher I've ever had. He is too funny! His classes are easy and interesting because he lets his cheerful and bubbly personality shine through. His tests are self explainatory. I'm taking him for SPD 141, just because I love him so much.

easy A for sure. very laid back. wants students to call him jack or prof jack which is cool. calls people 'dude' which i found funny. he seems to be a former hippy and can be a little spacey at times. he's definitly cornballish. but definately a good teacher.

Very fun class. We did lots of group exercises and I learned alot. Very knowlegable instuctor with LOTS of energy...too much coffee/sugar? Tests are serious even if class is casual, but easy A if you study what he tells you. You won't regret signing up for this professor!!!

he is probably my favorite teacher of all time, very laid back, extremely nice and willing to work with you. in class he doesnt read from the book and give you a long list of notes, he teaches with examples and hands on type thing, i dont think we had one boring class! i would reccomend him for anybody!!

Great Professor, nice man and real "character". His class is very relaxed and fun. Learning comes easily. Requires quite a bit of time outside of class but Prof Hollinger also gives research time. Highly recommend for any class.

i will never take him again.. he is a very hard grader for speeches. no one in our class got an A except for the very first speech. When I asked him why I got a C on the second speech he said the ONLY reason was because i talked just a little too fast! he is very boring and babbles all the time about stuff not related to class!! waste of time!!!!

Mr. Hollinger is a great teacher. He cares about his students and likes to make class fun and interesting. Sometimes we get to leave early. He makes you feel like someone when he has his one on one papa jack chats. by the end of this class, you will have better confidence when speaking in public.

Great teacher overall. does talk a little about his stories. i hated public speaking before i took this class, but now i've become a lot more comfortable with it. his grading is very specific but pretty fair.

I to was very nervous in having to take this class but he makes you feel so comfortable when at the frount of the class and speaking on a topic. He is very kind and easy with grades, only one thing is very important and that is not reading your speech word for word. Enjoy

I took theater app. with Prof. Hollinger and really enjoyed it!! It was a fun and interactive class. Not too difficult at all if you show up, do the few things that are asked and participate. I had a really great time and was actually sad it was ending

"Papa Jack" is a really great guy. Some of the in-class assignments seem silly, but he does give great feedback on your speeches. Don't buy the book.

One of the best teacher's I've ever had. He is very approachable and easy to communicate with, which is good since that is his forte! The best college class I've taken so far!

Nice Guy! He has lots of theater experience so he's really into teaching this class.You have to see 3 plays and write a critique on them which is easy. You have a few other activities but most of them are answered through opinion. SHow up and do your work and you'll do great. Interesting class, goes by quickly. its worth taking.

His lectures are a little random and he tends to talk about his deceased wife and his dogs alot, but he can be alot of fun to listen to. Doesn't really lecture on how to speak and refers you to the book when you write your speeches, but he does a great job at getting you comfortable with your classmates. I'd take him again.

Great professor! He tells a lot of stories, but not boring at all. I took summer semester, only had to do 4 speeches. He gives detailed feedback on speeches and is very interested in what everyone has to say. I was not interested in this class at all when I registered for it but he made it interesting. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

i would reccomend mr. hollinger for public speaking. he is very good in what he is doing. through out the semester i think we only opened the book twice (seriously) but still everybody in my class is passing with flying colors. take him. you wont be disappointed.

I recommend Mr. Hollinger, because, at first I was nervous about public speaking, but then he made it easy and less anxious. He is fuuny, and if you follow what he is looking for in your speech then you sure will get an A!!! Book is needed to do some work. because he does give out some handouts.

One of the best professors I've ever had in almost ten years of college. Listen to what he says during his lectures; he's brilliant. My only regret is there are no more classes I can take with him. I also have him for Public Speaking this semester.

Hollinger is an amazing professor! I had his class just this spring semester, it was fun. He made speaking in front of others very easy. There are 4 speeches and 2 impromtus. Also, a take home final and also a small project. Overall, I loved his class. Highly recommended!

Mr. Holligner is a great professor. He keeps his public speaking class very interesting and he is very funny. The speeches are simple ideas with very easy guidelines to follow. I highly recommend enrolling in his class.

Prof. Hollinger is one of the best TCC has to offer. i had him this fall eight weeks and i have improved a lot in my speech,I am not from the US have an accent and am naturally shy but thanks To Prof Hollinger he made my life easy, he just got a way to make you feel comfortable and eventually end up enjoying speech. ** Highly recommended

He has to be my favorite professor this semester! He makes everything easy, and he loves to poke fun at everything. He has a great sense of humor. The speeches are really easy, and its not too bad. He doesnt grade hard and its hard to fail. Take this class !

This teacher knows a lot about what he's talking about. He makes class engaging and fun and it's hard not to get an A, even if you aren't that great of a public speaker because he shows you exactly what you need to do for each speech.

Professor Hollinger is great! If you are nervous about speaking in front of class, he's the teacher to take! He will make you feel comfortable. The speeches are very easy and you can write your whole speech on a paper and just read off of that if you wanted to! I took him online and the assignments were easy.

If you take his class online, you will be required to go in at least a few times. He's kind of hard on grading because he nit picks on some things. Public speaking is awful, but he makes it a little bit better with how funny he is.

Mr. Holliger is the best CST teacher! I was going to drop the class because of my fear of public speaking but stuck it out. Glad I did. His relaxed style makes you less nervous to do your speeches. He's not picky about your nerves, just wants you to try. There are certain points you have to make in each speech but, trying is the big part.

He is HILARIOUS! He has many interesting stories, comments, and thoughts to share to the class. You can tell he really loves his job. Mr. Hollinger is always pleasant and is lenient (of course within extents) with projects and assignments. Would definitely recommend for public speaking classes.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Public Speaking is one of my biggest fears, becuz I stutter. He helped me out so much. I greatly improved over the 8 weeks of class. It was a struggle, but I'm better at public speaking now. YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIM!!! No textbook required!

He was great. Like most people I had a fear of public speaking, but he helped me over come it. There is tons of opportunities for extra credit. He is a lot of fun and I would definitely take another one of his classes.

I believe Mr. Hollinger is the best teacher at TCC. He's very funny. I have extreme anxiety about taking public speaking because I would here such horrible stories but im so grateful I was able to find a teacher like him. He's great, easy going, and really teaches you how to be a good speaker.

Jack was thorough, makes the class interesting and hilarious. I do not enjoy working in groups and Jack was able to coach me to deal with this feeling. He is very supportive and all he ask in return is participation.

Jack Hollinger is an amazing professor! He can put a smile on anybody's face and though he may appear gruff at first, he's a sweetheart. The assignments are easy and the classes are usually engaging and thoroughly entertaining. I loved the first assignment where we had to pick our favorite song and talk about it. All in all, awesome teacher!

Awesome Teacher, can't recommend him enough. I hate public speaking but he made it a breeze. He critiques well, grades very fairly, gives extra credit, textbook is free (Online) even though I never used it. You will give 3-4 prepared speeches and 2-3 impromptu speeches. You lose points off a easy 100 test grade for every day you aren't there. A++++

He's a great teacher. I love him!! The class isn't hard, and he gives great advice. There are plenty of fun projects as well. If you take public speaking, he is definitely the teacher you wanna go with.

Very simple to pass his class. Show up, practice your speeches (there is only three big ones) and show up prepared for your speech on the day assigned. Best yet, if you are really having a hard time with speaking, just do all the extra credit. It will turn any grade into an A. Plus, Jack is super nice; not the least bit Intimidating! :)

Prof Hollinger was a quality instructor, theres lots of opportunity for extra credit and he is relatively laid back. its mostly speaking in front of the class and watching others give speeches, theres not much actual lecture content.

Great way to learn public speaking is by taking his class. He's inspirational because he is so comfortable in public speaking so you want to learn how he does it. He is VERY CLEAR on what is needed and also feedback which is perfect. I really did like his feedback, it made it easy to work because he tells you where you're weak and strong.

Don't need to buy a textbook. Don't even need to read the textbook he provides. No quizzes. No tests. 4 Speeches plus 2 Impromptu. Show up. Half of the classes were only 30 minutes.

I get anxiety when it comes to public speaking and Jack is a very good professor. He understands that students are going to be stressed out. There are four written speeches and 8 impromtu speeches. I would recommend him as your professor when it comes to public speaking. VERY EASY CLASS!!!

Jack was a great prof! He has so much experience in the world of theater. Made class fun, told lots of stories but all were theater related & funny/interesting. Class was a mix of movies/videos, lectures, & discussions. Some in-class group work. 3 projects throughout semester & 1 final project, all very easy & fun. 1 test, open book. Sad he retired

He is so amazing if I can take him for other classes I need I would. Very easy to pass his class all you have to do is present a speeches. He is very nice and doesnt require much and he also gives extra credit. He is a very funny guy you wont regret taking him!
