Weird guy, looks like he's stuck in the 70's, but VERY funny!
He puts a smile on my face at 8am like no other....
Dr. Isaacs is the best teacher I've had at Towson, by far. He is the greatest
No Comments
Very witty guy. I had class at 8 am and didn't mind. :)

Reeaaallly weird guy, easy class as long as you go and read
can be funny and nice but class is hard
he's funny and beware of the green suit hard but you'll learn alot
Very Obscure tests. was in no way willing to help students
Test are somewhat difficult. No attendance policy, very, very, very funny guy. No homework or papers.
Funny, interesting, hard tests!
Funny guy but tests are difficult. Loves to give quizzes.
Made jokes all the time, that weren't funny. Whiny, annoying voice.Tests were tricky, and hard. Doesn't curve. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, DON T TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny guy, hard tests. Very helpful, and just generally a nice guy.
Hard tests. Make sure you study book for the tests. Obscure questions on his test.
He is PSYCHO! Tests are really hard and unclear. It's almost as if he gets pleasure in students failing.
Great teacher. Funny and very knowledgeable. Tests are hard, but its college, so get over it.
Guy is really weird bad sense of humor. Must take good notes the Tests are hard Quizes are easy go to class and do a lil reading and its an Easy B. Hes actually a nice guy just a little bit weird
Material is understandable until you get the test- All obscure quesions worded in order to confuse you. Really nice guy with a strange sense of humor. READ THE BOOK AND GO TO CLASS- Its the only way you'll get a decent grade.
if you are good at memorizing things, this will be an easy A. quizzes and tests have questions directly from notes of class, so take good notes and memorize everything. i walked out with an A.
Must read the book to pass exams!!!!! If you take good notes you should do pretty well in the class.
Very odd sense of humor. Take good notes and READ THE BOOK and you will do well in the class. If you tend to get bored and annoyed with teachers that are always trying to make jokes avoid him at all costs. Interesting class overall though

Crazy guy...sometimes funny, he thinks he is. Nice guy, talks a lot. Not really a boring class, he tends to make it interesting. Make sure you study and WRITE OUT ALL OF THE SHORT ANSWER IN COMPLETE SENTENCES!!!
Not only is Jack Issacs boring and uneducated about the topics he teaches, his "lightheartedness" is soon understood to be rude and unhelpful. If you take his class never go, and just read the book because it will be 10 times more informative and useful.
he's ADD prone, he goes off for 20 minutes on random things, if you can keep your attention take him, if not, sucks
You would think having a goofy professor is fun WRONG. Jack Isaasc uses his goofiness against you. He uses it to distract and lengthen the class to the point of obsurdity and when he does teach he is boring. And dont expect answers to your questions because he just goes off on rants to insult you.
Professor Isaacs is a nice guy; he just isn't the best teacher in the world. It's difficult to take good notes in his class because he gets off subject SO often! The best thing to do is go to class, try your best to take notes, and READ, READ, READ! Good luck!
This class is easy!!! I skipped so many classes, never read the book but still do good on the tests. Tests are really easy and there are only three in a semester. Take good notes, never read. If you skip class, then probally read book, but I never did and still got good grades on quizes and exams!
Interesting/strange guy but very nice. He's very particular about what he wants on the tests. WRITE OUT EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!
The guy is pretty odd, ignore his jokes and keep up with his lectures and you'll do fine. Buying the book is a must, he adds part of his lectures and reading from the text in his exams. If you can stay awake, and writing 300+ words per min, you'll pull a B
I'd take the class just to hear the jokes this guy has, he seriously thinks he's funny. Anyway, there are two sure fire ways to pass his class A) READ THE BOOK and B) STAY AWAKE, there's also a ton of note writing but it helps a lot.
He's a real jerk. His tests are filled with obscure questions from the book in which you may know after reading the chapters 192304 times. Unfortunately he's the only one that teaches this class so have fun.
Two words: Green Suit! U just have to see it. Classes were usually intersting. Test questions right from notes and the text. He jokes a lot, but teaches you. Like most classes, you need to pay attention, take notes and read the text. Overall good class.
I love this guy! He's so funny! What he talks about in class is exactly what is on the quiz. He doesn't test you on things he hasn't discussed. IF YOU'RE LATE, HE DOESN'T CARE! What more could you ask for? If you don't understand something, he'll explain it as long as u ask questions.
I thought that I wanted to go to law school before I took this class, now I don't. Issacs was weird, made fun of people and was extremely rude. I studied extremely hard from all of my lecture notes and still got a C. If you don't like to read text books, don't take this class.
This class is alot of fun, but you have to be a good notetaker, writting down everything he says, to do well. The tests are not easy at all, but the quizes are. STUDY STUDY STUDY! And read the book. He's alot of fun, and very friendly. College isn't supposed to be easy, so suck it up.
Worked hard. Read book and took notes and went to ever class barely pulled a C have to retake. plus he is not funny, rude, and annoying. Do not take.
He's a little off, but the class isn't that bad. No papers, only 3 tests, and the final isn't the combination of tests 1 and 2. Has occasional quizzes on material, all are announced.
Very cool guy. Funny and really intelligent, sometimes goes off topic, but if you study and take notes then you will do well, always willing to help.
TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU SETTLE FOR C's and D's!! you can read the book, take good notes and still fail!! Avoid this class! He likes to tell jokes but there is nothing funny about this guy or his class! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! HE SUCKS!
easy class if you take notes. only 3 tests no final. very funny and great for an intro class. not much outside work except for studying for tests
Oh dear, oh dear. Difficult, hard, mind wreckingly complex. However if law is your thing and this isn't the first law class you've taken you MIGHT be okay. Take notes til your hands fall off study til your brain is dead and you'll be fine. The man knows his stuff though
Tough class but he knows his stuff and tries to keep the lectures exciting.Takes all questions and explains things very well.Sometimes too much and really goes into things until he is sure you understand. Exams are tough, read and study, he is funny and has a great green suit.you just have to see it
this guy is an idiot, has a lot of material for tests, stuff shows up in tests that aren't covered. boring guy, stupid jokes, overall a horrible teacher who should not be employed
Love the green suit! Best professor EVER! Not that hard. Three tests... just take his notes and study a bit.

I had a hard time following him. Got a C in his class. He is very nice and has a good sense of humor if you understand it. He's sort of out there.
I got a C in the class, but the professor is a great guy who is always willing to go the extra mile to help you learn the material. Make sure you study the book!
I studied, and knew the info and still didnt do well. When i asked for help the guy blew me off, he's lawyer teaching at Towson at an age when he is still young enough to be practing law that should tell ya something!
I did good in the class, but it is hard. He never stops for you and barely writes on the bored. The class is mainly just him talking and you trying to keep up. He spends about half the class telling you not to go to law school, which is no wonder considering my advisor told me he was dis-bared from being a lawyer and that's why he is teaching.
Tough grader but truly willing to help out. Even when people repediatly ask dumb questions, he would answer them. No complaints about him.
Weird, and laughs at himself even though its incredibly not funny. MAKE sure you read the text, kind of disrespectful to students if he doesnt feel your question is in his realm
I was interested in law before I took this...very boring, not helpful, makes fun of you when you ask questions for clarity. The textbook isn't very good....all in all, an awful class
These last people had to have been joking. This class was not hard. If you read the book and study your notes it's an easy A. Everything was straight forward not one surprise question on any of his test. Test are mostly True/False, Multiple Coice, and a few fill in the blank. This class is probably the only one i got an A in this semester.
class is cool...If your lazy u will fail..I dont understand why people think college is ment to be easy...
Totally annoying; sounds like a whiny Ray Romano, and CONSTANTLY diverges from topic, making the class interminably long. Nitpicks harshly on test essays. Reading is a major help, and going to class is a must, so plan to take notes. The material is boring, and he does little to improve the situation; in fact, he makes it worse. Not recommended.
DO NOT take this class at 8 in the morinin. u will definatly fall asleep. in order to pass u have to read the book. He is a very strict grader and his voice will put u to sleep. he tries to be funny but his joke are corny and u'll be laughin at him most of the time.
I liked this class. Yeah, you do have to study a bit to get decent grades, but that happens. His jokes are corny, but they ease tension. yes, somewhat whiny voice, but not irritating. I'd do it again.
Dr. Issacs is kind and truly wants students to succeed. The tests are designed to prevent little work/studying night before As. They are not difficult but require you to read the text and keep good notes. Make sure you dont miss class or you wont see the GREEN SUIT!
Very intersting topics, love his teaching style. Funny guy. 3 tests and a long paper. Study HARD and take GOOD notes, reading the book really helps as well. If you keep up with everything you will be fine.
He is a pretty good teacher and class is pretty straight forward. He tells some jokes and some are funny some aren't but they make the class more enjoyable. You have to show up for class or else you'll miss stuff though. Remember all the figures he gives out cause he'll ask them on tests.
One of the best at TU! Funny guy and very good prof. You will learn a lot in this class and do well if you pay attention, take good notes and read.
pretty good, exams need memorization
His class is about average in difficulty but a lot of fun. Coming to class is very important cause a lot of the info on the exams is from class. Remember all the numbers he throws at you cause he likes to put them on the tests. All in all its not a hard class if you come to it everyday and pay attention. Doing the reading helps too.
he is extremely sarcastic and makes the subject actually interesting. you can pass just by listening to lecture or not going and just reading the book, but to get an A must do both. its a fun class unless you hate law. if your looking for an easy gen ed this isnt it
I've taken him for 3 classes now and he rocks!!! Not to mention that green suit. I actually enjoy coming to his early mrnign classes. Extremely helpful in and out of class, very empathetic, funny...just a great guy! One of the best at TU. Come to class, read and memorize. All else is cake!
cool guy, come to class and take good notes and the class will be a breeze. read the text book before exams because he'll pull questions from there not discussed in class
You can get a C by just going to class or just reading, but to do any better, you have to do both. Very nice guy, one of the best professors out there. Very sarcastic and funny. Willing to help out with anything law related, and really knows his stuff. Used to be a lawyer.
Easy gen-ed, really need to take notes and do the reading, but it's not a lot at all, much less that many other classes (on average, 10 pages of reading each unit). Presents information in extremely orderly fashion. No surprises!! Kinda weird guy, but makes it interesting. Very nice and knowledgable about the subject. Learned a lot, great class!
He's a great teacher and is always willing to help you. You get extra credit just for raising your hand. There isn't too much reading, but you should read the book because it will make a difference on exams and quizzes. He gives you specific pages to read; you never have to read a whole chapter.I recommend him. Only 3 exams plus easy quizzes.
I'm about to give everyone the truth. This class is an easy one. you go to class, you read, your good!! but since attendance is not mandatory, you could slip up like I did. i didn't go to class as much, but i did read and studied, but i still failed the mid-term. class notes not as organized as they could be two textbooks..you decide!
Good teacher. He is funny and really makes the class interesting and he knows what he is talking about. He does tend to be a bit excentric. But all in all good. 3 test (includes final) and 5 quizes and extra credit.
Great Teacher! Turns a dry class into a fun class! 3 Big Test! Multiple choice, fill in the blanks, and True False. The Fill in the blanks can be tricky! Just read the book and take the notes in class you will be fine! Had alot of fun in a 8AM Class!
the worst professor ever. not only he is extremely boring, the guy has absolutely NO clue whatsoever what he is talking about. unorganized, unrelated jockes. it's by far the worst class I've taked in Towson. tests are ok though. 2 books. 2 assignments. DON'T recommend at all
Very tough grader. 1 easy 3 page paper. 1 difficult 8 page paper. Will take points off at will. Tough tests and the material is very difficult to retain. Do yourself a favor and don't take this with him unless you have a thorough understanding of the American Judicial System or if Law is your thing. Take it with someone else if you can.
Not a bad class...brief required readings...really just need to show up to class and take notes...he is somewhat annoying and borders on irritating, but overall the class was pretty good.
Not organized at all. Teaches things from Maryland's specific law that isn't in the book. Goes on worthless discussions, and just not a good teacher. If you can take someone else i would recommend. Tests were not written the best way and very quirky in his ways.
Not a bad class... He goes off and talks about different things and thinks hes funny but hes not but if you read the book you can do good on the tests... Doesn't take attendance but adds information specific to maryland in his lectures that isnt in the book but WILL be on tests and quizzes.. Good teacher to take if you'll read the short readings
I have taken many classes with this guy. He says attendance is not required but participation is counted so you must go, plus he gives out information that is not covered in the book which you also must read in class. His tests are very hard and even if the whole class scores C's or worse which I have seen happen he will not give a curve. He als
Don't take if you have any other options. This guy is extremely annoying, makes sexual jokes, goes off topic, and is rude. Roughly 5 quizzes and three tests. Study and read before the tests and you'll get an B.
Professor Isaacs is not an easy teacher. He's not very clear and will go on tangents. I would recommend showing up for most (if not all) his classes. He is a tough grader, but if you have a problem he will work it out with you. He does use the textbook - so buy it. Tests are based mostly on books, and very hard - READ THE BOOKS!
Enjoyable class, but his jokes tend to be extremely unfunny. If you're interested in law, you'll learn all you need to know about the structures, and the material is easy to understand. Notes from class alone will get you a solid C on his 3 exams, the reading gets you a high B, mid-range A. No essays, relatively easy quizzes, recommended class.
I thought the class was pretty easy. Attendance is not required, however, there are notes that you need in order to do well on the quizzes and exams. If you go to class and study, you should get an A. He also gives up to 2 points extra credit. A 90+ is an "A". Some of the questions can be tricky though, but overall not bad at all.
Jack Isaacs is a genuine guy. He's easy going and easy to get along with. He doesn't have an attendance policy, but, depending on the class, he does have a participation grade. I have him for 209 and 384. 384 = 10% of grade. 209=1% of extra credit. His tests are pretty difficult and require the notes AND reading of the textbook.
Hard to get an A in, but needs a lot of effort. Be prepared to write super fast! Is very helpful and considerate when comes to final and other grades. Be prepared to be disciplined and study your life away to do excellent. Oral given quizzes are easier than tests. Gives extra credit
Personally, I thought he was a nice guy. The class was based off the book, so reading is a must. Oral quizzes are easy, but you must be prepared. He lectures all class, but doesnt write everything on the board. Tests were demanding, he really wants you to know the specifics, so study and read! You get a lot out of the class though, very interesting
I had him for 209 & 384, which I highly recommend doing. They're practically the same class and studying for one is studying for the other. Easy quizzes, Medium tests, and a tough grader for Essays. He's a solid prof. though and is more than willingly to be helpful if you ask.
Took him for 209 and it was fine, got an A but for 384 he did a complete 180 and is soo tough. Midterm was nearly impossible, and the highest grade on the research paper in the class was only an 84...hes a stickler for specifics you really need to know your stuff!
I did not like how he didnt give us any kind of study guide as to what would be on the exam. There was SO much terminology that was covered and it was impossible to know if you are studying the terms or topics that would be on the exam. I wasted so much time studying and when it came to the exam, hardly anything I concentrated on was on it!
Went to every class, received extra credit, and got all A's on exams & in class quizzes. Did poorly on the final exam in 209 due to personal reasons so he refused to give me a recommendation for law school because I "wouldn't make it." Went to law school anyway, received a JD, and am now a lawyer. He doesn't know as much as he thinks he does.
very knowledgable in law.
Dr Issacs is a great prof! I had him for 209, then a year later for 384. He's tougher on the 384 students but it's the same exact content and a higher level course so he had to do something to make it different. He goes over 80% of the content on tests in class but still need to read for that 20%! His sarcasm is legendary at Towson! Take his class!
He is a good professor, he's pretty funny. Make sure to read the text and take notes. Go to class and study for exams and everything will be okay.
He is very funny and isn't afraid to be sarcastic to you, but don't take it personally. I loved taking this class, it was very interesting and I would definitely take another class with him. You do have to read because he only covers about 85% of the material in class. Quiz after every unit, 3 test including the final, not cumulative. Chose him!
This class is challenging. Most likely because he is a former lawyer, so his way of teaching is unique. THE BOOK IS YOUR LIFE. Tests are tough because you do not know what to expect on them. If you listen to his lectures and read the textbook thoroughly however, you'll have a decent grade. He is nice and jokes around a lot though.
Professor Isaacs is very knowledgable about the law. He expects you to know every little detail from the text book for the test. You'll really need to study. The material is very interesting and he explains it very well. If you take him just be prepared to work and read. I'd say the work is worth what you'll learn.
Great professor! Lectures are 99% oral but he does write key words on the board. His quirky sense of humor makes class fun and it goes by fast. Read the book to gain his respect, and participate! Easy class, as long as you regularly attend. Recommend taking intro to law with him prior, its almost the exact class.
His class was extremely difficult, and his exams are the hardest exams I have ever taken. The class is only based upon 3 exam grades, with a few quiz grades. I would not recommend you take this course with him as a teacher.
Tore my essays apart with criticism and did not give clear instructions on what he wanted. Would not take again
Dr. Isaacs is hilarious. He is very sarcastic and like to call people out so make sure your paying attention and not on your phone. Quizzes and tests are a bit tough because its so much material to cover but only few of it on the tests. Make sure to take notes READ the book.
Dr. Isaacs is very knowledgable in his field, but that does not mean he should teach. His sense of humor is very harsh and rude. I saw him kick a chair across the room once because it was in his way. Scary and intimidating, I would never ever take one of his classes again. I would not recommend this class to even my worst enemy.
Grades on favorites, unnecessarily calls people out, makes those with questions feel INCREDIBLY uncomfortable. Sometimes to a point where they give up entirely on asking questions. I read every page of every assigned reading, still managed to get a miserable grade. AVOID if you are planning to get a passing grade. Read the book, or you will fail.
One of the worst teachers I've had. He barley writes anything on the board, and he talks way to fast. Goes off Track all the time. "Messes around with students" but really he's just being mean and awkward. He makes you feel stupid for asking anything. Don't take him, his class is hard, not that interesting, and just painful to be in.
I am a law major, so this class isn't hard for me. BUT His sense of humor is very dry and sarcastic, some like it, some don't. He believes in having fun in the classroom, and I actually enjoy his class. Material is hard, but it does not require hours of studying to pass. I barely studied for the first exam and got a 73. Give this class a chance 1st
This is my second class with Dr. Isaacs and he is still a difficult man to describe. He tries to make his class more enjoyable by making some "jokes" because it is typically straight lecture. I like him, but some people don't. Your grade for this class will consist of one short essay, two exams, an eight-page term paper, and class participation.
Honestly, this was an interesting class to take. He jokes a lot and rubs students the wrong way sometimes. However, he has gotten better throughout the semester. Make sure you read and participate. He will respect you for it. Come to class. He does take attendance. And, go to the writing center for your research paper. I did twice.
Isaacs is my favorite professor at Towson so far, and this was my favorite class. Read the book, go to class and take good notes, and you should do fine. He makes class so enjoyable with his sense of humor and the material isn't difficult.
Dr. Isaacs gets a 2 here because of the fact that his lectures are easy to takes notes on. What he says in class is usually how it appears on his tests. His tests are awfully hard and are confusing at times. He often loses his temper in class and can scream and belittle students. He claims he is just joking, but honestly he is just rude. Avoid him.
I'm a straight-A senior who enjoys politics and law shows. With Isaac's class, I'm pretty sure I'm ending with a C even after doing everything I could for this class (studying for hours, reading all the texts, taking notes at every class, etc.) His tests are hard and confusing. His personality is annoying and rude. If you can, avoid!Worst professor
This was my second class with Isaacs, and he had previously been my advisor for the LWAC major. HE IS TERRIBLE. He is so rude, and condescending, and goes on tangents. I had food poisoning and was unable to come to class to turn in my research paper. Even with a doctor' note, HE STILL DEDUCTED POINTS FOR IT BEING LATE. Should have gone to the dean.
As said in the other reviews, Isaacs is knowledgeable in Law but he shouldn't teach it. he picks on students and then tries to play it off as jokes but its very condescending. barely writes any notes on the board so be prepared to read in the text. i wouldn't take him again
I had him for 384 and he was a good professor. He cared about students and was tough at the same time. He went out of his way to help me. Very knowledgeable and good topics of conversation. Yes, he had a goofy sense of humor which bordered annoying but it broke the monotony.
