he's a very fun and goofy guy. he explains the lesson in forty five minutes and then you're done. but he's so good, that you WANT to listen and learn. makes stat easy and will help you if you need help
Incredible teacher, goes through many helpful examples. But this class is very hard, especially if you are weak in math like me.
Great professor-- explains the material efficiently. You don't really need a book for this class, just for like a couple of problems in the HWs. Notes posted on webct.
He's very understandable and doesn't use the entire class period. I thought this would be an extremely hard class and it wasn't.
He is not intimidating and very helpful and sweet. He has notes on webct with blanks and problems for you to follow along with so the class is well organized. Subject may be difficult, but he is fine. He never used the full class time and never took attendance.
Morse is an effective teacher and explains statistics is easy terms. It's a help to have some potential statistics background from highschool, but if not its not too hard to pick up on...mostly alot of terms and easy concepts. Doing and actually trying on homework helps a ton with the test and the book helps clarify gaps in understanding
I didn't even think I would like stat but Prof. Morse made it easy to understand and he's a really nice guy- always willing to help. The tests count for a big % of the grade, but there are some homeworks to help your grade.
Hard to listen to because lecture's slow-paced, but an awesome teacher. If you are good at math, it is bothersome because he over-explains the lesson- great for those who hate math! Very nice though! And stays after class to help with homework problems or to re-explain any issues you had over the lectures. Nice that he makes your ntoes!
Helpful, clear, and makes everything extremely easy to understand. The TA I had was terrible because I couldn't understand him at ALL, but that's not professor Morse's fault. He is a really student-friendly teacher and if you must take Stat take his class.
This class was pretty easy and he simplified things to the extreme...sometimes too much (for ex. he would write out (0-0=0). ) Other than that I would recommend him because as long as you do the hw and study it, the test will be in the same format with the same type of questions. He also put up notes online and before a test would put up review she
very easy A, if you study a little for test and do your hw. He is very nice and helpful too! ends the lecture early almost ALL the TIME
I never went to class, just got the notes from a friend and learned it all the night before and ended up with an A
Morse is really great. He's so friendly and helpful, and he lets you out of class/cancels class several times throughout the semester as long as he gets his through his notes, which he posts online.
From the few times I went to class, Prof. Morse seemed like a good teacher- very clear, thorough and helpful. Notes and practice tests are online though, so if you can figure it out on your own... no need to go to class!! I never went to lab either- it's only 5% of your grade.
Prof morse is solid. His lectures are easy to understand and you usually finish up early. If you're good at math, class almost isn't necessary, just go to the labs.
This professor is very nice and helpful, but he does not make up the tests, quizzes, or homework, the head of the department does!! So that sucks! there is an cumulative and optional 5th test that can replace your lowest test grade. I would recommend the teacher, just not the class!!
Excellent at explaining formulas and helping students understand material.
The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that I had to buy a book. The book is only needed for a few homework problems. Morse is a really smart guy and his lectures are really organized. He posts notes on webct so you follow along and he also puts up test reviews.
DON"T BUY THE BOOK! He'll give you all the notes you need on WebCT. He explains everything well and the it's pretty easy. If you pay attention, you'll do fine...
I love Professor Morse. He is hands down the nicest professor at UGA. Very approachable. And Stat 2000 is super easy. I barely went to class and still did well on my tests. Take this for an easy A. You won't regret it.
He is an excellent teacher. I really can't think of a single criticism. He explains problems well. Lab is easy. And you don't have to worry if you miss class, it won't be hard to catch up on the material.
I loved this man! He is very helpful and will continue to explain something until everyone completely understands it. If you take STAT.. Take this man! He is GREAT!
Dr. Morse is very nice. He's always willing to take questions after class or during his office hours. He explains things very clearly which was helpful for me since math and I are not friends! =) Take his class if you can!
EASY CLASS!
Professor Morse is a really good teacher who tries to help out anyone who has questions. He is excellent in explaining things and his notes are awesome! All you have to do is study his notes and practice the online homeworks, and you should do well on the tests.
Dr. Morse was an Amazing STAT teacher. Do not take PIKE. Morse explains everything REALLY well and makes it easy to understand the material. HIGHLY Recommended
i did horrible in this class, but it wasn't because of morse. JExam blows. but morse is a very good teacher. provides easy to understand notes and always willing to help. i recommend him to anyone taking this class.
professor morse is a great teacher. he goes over the material really well and he puts all his notes on WebCT. he is always willing to answer questions before/after class or during office hours. Jexam is what will kill you in this class...
Lecture moves really slow, Morse repeats everything and makes sure that everyone understands. Lecture material is summarized in the lab, so you only need to go to class if you dont get it. If you put in minimal time, this is an easy A. Morse is really nice too. Homework twice a week on Jexam. Four tests, optional final.
This class was extremely easy. Morse explains everything very, very well and there isnt much work.
Although I did not do well in STAT 2000 (I'm just not a math person), I thought Professor Morse was excellent. He exlplains things well and puts his notes online in case you are absent. I would recommend going to class, though, because he gives tons of helpful examples that are not included on the online notes.
Morse is one of the best teachers ive had since ive been at UGA. Hes really helpful, is actually in his office during office hours, and is very clear when he explains things. In this case, it will all come down to whether or not ur a math person, not the teacher, cuz hes really good at explaining things.
Didn't buy the book and didn't go to class, and I still made As/Bs on the exams, and aced the homework/labs (I had taken Stats in high school). Notes are posted on WebCT, but if you do go to lecture, he teaches well, although a bit slowly to make sure everyone understands.
If you get Professor Morse, consider yourself lucky! He's one of the nicest guys in the world! The lectures move kinda slow-especially if you're a fast learner, but he makes sure you understand EVERYTHING.
If you get Morse, you're definitely lucky. I never used my text book and skipped several classes and did just fine. He posts his notes on WebCT so all you have to do is print them. If you do go to class, he's a great teacher and explains things slowly so you can easily understand. He's a great stat 2000 professor and he's so nice!! Take him!
Great teacher. Dont buy the book for the class! Its not necessary, there are so many resources on WebCt that it would be a waste of money to buy it.
take him!!! he puts up notes and thats all you really need to make an A. Don't buy the book, its useless. You dont have to come to class often and the test are very easy if you study the notes!!
This class was pretty easy. go to class. do the examples, take you own notes, and do the practice problems. you will get and A on the tests.
Take this class! Morse is so nice, and he really cares about the students. He puts all of the notes online, so DO NOT buy the book. Seriously. If you can't get into this class, go anyway because he is by far the best stat teacher and you will learn without too much effort.
Attention: All math dummies, this class is for you! I've never been good at this subject, but Morse is so helpful and makes the class super easy! Great, funny guy. Book is absolutely useless. Do NOT have to do well on the tests to make a "B". No worries.
Mr. Morse is awesome. His notes come from the book, and he writes them facing the wall, so he doesn't speak to the class. :) The homework is very time consuming and the TA was not lenient at all, but he always gave back points. Even though it's a mixed grad/undergrad class, it's great! He's very easy-going about almost everything.
Morse is a really great professor. He gives you all of his notes online, and he is just really easy to understand and cares a lot about his students. One of the best professors I have ever had at UGA. Highly recommend him if you are not a math person!
He was awesome. Very easy teacher. It seems really easy in class and the notes are available online for you to fill in in class. Do go to class though. The people who struggled were the ones who stopped going after the first or second test I think. But he had more clarity and seemed like a nicer guy than any teacher I've had at Georgia.
Awesome teacher!!! He's very lenient and he gives you the notes! This course wasn't much of math at all. You just have to learn how to use technology, and you will do fine!
He's such a nice & really helpful professor. You don't need to go to class bc he posts his notes on webct. The exams are pretty easy, but don't take this class as a joke. You still have to study if you want to boost your gpa.
Morse is definitely the best STAT2000 professor. He's probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. Homework load wasn't bad at all, and the tests weren't too difficult either. I DO recomment, however, going to the review sessions put on by the TA's. Not hard to make an A if you put in some effort!
This was an awesome class. I had absolutely no interest in Statistics and am terrible at math, but Prof. Morse explained things so clearly that I had no trouble understanding. Tests were a bit challenging but fair. He was a nice guy and made class fun. Only complaint is I never used the book once, basically wasted my money buying it.
Morse IS AWESOME!! TAKE THIS CLASS. EASY A. Classes are totally not mandatory, but good to go because he is so easy to follow and will help you in the long run. Go to the Free Review sessions before the test--they are the best and really help! DO NOT BUY THE BOOK.
Morse is a really easy professor. He explains everything very slowly and clearly. He'll do so many example problems it's impossible not to learn how to do something. There is next to no homework, and you never use the textbook. Don't buy it! SUPER EASY.
Morse is a great prof. He clearly explains everything, tells you specific things to study for tests, reviews homeworks, and does lots of practice problems. He is very approachable and is always willing to help. Do not buy the text book for this class, it is not needed for anything.
This class is SUPER easy. I didn't even study for the tests (but that's because paid attention during every lecture, which I recommend going to). Morse is very good at explaining things and goes at a very slow pace...sometimes maybe too slow. He will answer any questions you have and tells you specific things to study for tests. DON'T BUY THE BOOK
Excellent teacher! He explained things in full detail and was always willing to help! HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!
He was very thorough and I am not good at statistics people say you don't need the book but i bought it and it helped whenever I had questions during the homework. Go to the review before the test that is the most helpful thing you can possibly do.
Morse was an excellent professor. He printed notes before class, made tests representative of the lectures, and gave us an easy final project. He was very approachable in office hours and made linear regression easy to understand. Highly recommended!
Morse made learning SAS easy. He printed the notes before class and carefully worked through all the code in the notes. Tests were easy and we only had a final project. Don't buy the book; it's not needed unless you want it as reference for future classes that use SAS.
Mr. Morse is the best math teacher I've ever had! He is really energetic, and explains everything really well. He is generous and totally willing to help you with anything. The tests are thorough, but straight-forward. All the notes are posted online, as well as the homework. If you have to take Stats, definitely get Mr. Morse.
One of the best professors I've ever had, hands down. He's very thorough in his teaching and explanations and always more than willing to help or answer questions. Don't buy the book, you won't need it - all homework is online and his notes that are posted online are extremely thorough. I'm someone who hates math, and he made this class seem easy.
He's so thorough that there's no way you can get lost. He's also very nice and helpful, so don't be afraid to approach him. We've barely used the textbook, so don't buy it. All you need are the notes that he gives out.
EXCELLENT professor! TAKE MORSE! I am not a math person by any means but Morse makes everything extremely easy to understand. Lectures are ridiculously thorough and never boring. He follows the notes perfectly. Don't buy the book. Easy class with a GREAT professor.
STAT2000 is a fairly easy class, especially if you go to class. The labs help explain some of the concepts and you must attend the labs, but not going to class will cause you to miss a lot. Either teach it to yourself or go to class - that simple. Also, the best thing you can do is go to the test review sessions.
I never attended a single class and still pulled out with an A. DON'T buy the book, it isn't helpful whatsoever. Just print out the notes to study before lab and exams and you can make an easy A.
He is a great teacher. He is easy to understand. His notes are online but I would go to class because that is where he works out the examples. If you study you will get an A. I highly recommend this class
Too me, statistics was really boring, but Morse does a good job at explaining it. You don't need to buy the textbook, his powerpoints are all you really need for the tests. If math is your thing, you probably don't need to go to class much. I went pretty regularly (& it's not my thing) and made a B or B+. He seems like a really nice guy.
He explained things very well and worked through examples - his lecture notes were online and there was a review session before each test so class isn't a must, but it helps to go. I didn't even buy the book though it is totally unnecessary. The final exam is optional (you can take it and replace your lowest test grade if you want) which was nice.
If you are taking Intro Stats take this man... period. I had no idea of what to expect with this course, but he was extremely helpful and interesting. I did fall asleep in class once though. Easy class, easy A.
Morse is young and energetic, and always willing to help. The tests are tough, but pretty fair. Definitely go to class and the review sessions. You need to study and not blow this class off, but Morse is a great teacher.
If you're going to take STAT, take Morse. He makes the material easy to understand and helps anyone with any problems. Tests are decent if you study and attend the free review sessions.
Morse is a great teacher. He explains the material very well. Definitely go to the free review sessions. It was extremely helpful. You can print out the notes before class on each unit and buying the book isn't really necessary. Great class, great teacher. I highly recommend Morse if you need the class.
Morse is SO nice! His lectures are clear and the material is easy to understand. Tests are not difficult. Don't buy the book- you won't use it. Go to the review sessions before the test- extremely helpful. I definitely recommend Morse!
This class was easy. You don't have to buy the book and the free review sessions tell you everything you need to know the night before the test. Morse was clear and his lectures made you understand the material, but he repeats himself a lot. I never went to class and made an A-. Good for non-math majors.
Great teacher. Take him!
Morse was super. Often a bit repetitive, but who can criticize a teacher for making fantastic efforts to clarify material. His notes are superb and he is so approachable. A very nice guy and a great teacher. Bottom line: TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.
Professor Morse is one of the nicest people I've ever met. You can ask him anything, and he won't make fun of you. His notes are thorough, so you don't have to pay for that expensive textbook. Go to at least some lectures and attend the free review sessions, and you'll pull an A, easy.
Morse is great! His lectures are easy to understand. You don't need the book. He puts his notes on ELC. Just do the homeworks and do the reviews online and its an easy A.
Do not buy the textbook. He is very good about explaining things thoroughly. The tests are not hard but they usually have a couple tricky questions. great teacher though.
Every so often at UGA you stumble across a proff that for whatever reason really cares about teaching their students. Dr Morse continues to try even when half the class is asleep and the other half is on Facebook. Take him and do try to pay attention, it has to be hard to keep caring when the students don't!
Morse is an AMAZING TEACHER. go to class and try to pay attention bc his notes are so thorough you dont even have to study that much if you pay attention in class! dont buy the text. not needed. i DEFINITELY recommend Morse for statistics.
Professor Morse was an awesome teacher. He's so thorough that it can get repetitive, but he is great. Super nice and tries his best to help out students. I really liked him.
Prof Morse is an awesome professor! I'm not good at math at all but somehow he explains it so well and thoroughly that I can actually understand it. He puts all his notes on ELC and is always open to helping students whenever needed even if you just drop by his office he's more than willing to help you. By far the best prof I've had at UGA.
HATED statistics, but Dr. Morse did a fabulous job when it came to teaching it. He made it some what enjoyable and was ALWAYS willing to help! Great teacher! Take him if you can!
Good professor, but he repeats himself so much which can be annoying and distracting!
Morse was always very friendly and willing to help. He was very clear with his explanations - he printed out notes and knew them by heart as he was going through them (so he didn't have to reference back to them constantly). I never felt like I needed to attend office hours, but I would have gone gladly. He is very approachable.
Great teacher. Statistics is probably the most boring thing in the world, but he was always excited about teaching it. Go to class so you can fill in the notes. Do the homework too. I studied about an hour before every test(had other tests on the same day), and had a 94 test average. Optional final too. Highly recommend this teacher.
Never got the text, never went to class. Do the homework and go to the labs and get an A!
His class is pretty easy. Attendance is not required. You don't need the text book. He is very enthusiastic about teaching which makes the class less boring. If you have to take statistics and want an easy A or B, I definitely recommend taking his class.
Great teacher. I had no knowledge or interest in statistics prior to this class but he was passionate about teaching it and made it bearable. No need to buy the text book, all of his notes are on elc and he is more than willing to answer questions after class or through e-mail.
Jack is a great teacher who genuinely cares about his students and will take the time to explain anything to you if you ask. He makes the material really clear; he is very thorough and relates the problems to everyday life. He'll tell you that there is no need to buy the textbook and it's true because the notes are al you need. Great teacher!
Very easy class! and Morse is a wonderful professor! He breaks down the material and makes it easier to understand. I HATE math but made an A- in is class. Def recommend taking him!
Great professor! More than willing to help/repeat himself/answer questions at any time during class. Tests are fair but long. Homework is easy. If you have to take statistics, take Morse!
Gives you notes and follows them to the letter. Fair tests and lab assignments. Grades fairly. The subject matter can get a bit dull if you did well in STAT 2000, but then you can just stare at him because he's nice to look at.
Mr. Morse was great. I had him for 4210, and he made the class very enjoyable. He's very easy to follow and approach. He always makes sure that you understand the material, as well. For my class, he even printed out the notes for us, so we didn't even have to write very much in class. I'd definitely take him again if I could.
He is such a good teacher and is willing to help out anyone who needs help. I had no interest in stat but now I like it. Take him!
Easy A! Morse is such a nice guy and as clear as can be with the material. GIves great review problems and helps students out. Take him for sure
He is such a great teacher. I am terrible at math, and he breaks it down so that the concepts are super easy to grasp. As long as you do the homework and labs, you will do fine! Easy A.
Best math teacher ever! He has his notes posted online so it is easy to follow! Very helpful! You can ask him 100 questions and he will help! Wants students to pass. Make sure you do homework and pay attention. He goes step by step. I recommend him!
He is so great teaching statistic.
Jack Morse is such a sweetie! His class is very boring so be prepared, but it is super easy. He's VERY clear, can go a little slow sometimes, but it's typically beneficial. He's extremely helpful and willing to assist at all times. Aside from the boring aspect (the class in general is boring), Morse is a wonderful professor.
Class was super boring, I always went, but could barely bring myself to pay attention so I was usually on my phone. He is REALLY nice though and always makes sure to ask if there's any questions. Doing the homework and going to the lab is what counts though.
I dreaded having to take statistics, but Morse was the best stat teacher I could have asked for. To do well in the class I had to go to class EVERYDAY and keep up with the homework and labs. He was so kind each time I spoke with him about my concerns. Not an easy class, but if I passed it, I am sure you can too!
Great teacher, nice guy, VERY clear on concepts and goes slow and used relatable examples so you're not confused. Fill-in-the-blank style notes. Workload: 2-3 homeworks a week, lab with a TA once a week, and 4 tests- everything online. Software is required for the class- sets you back about $25, but don't buy the book because you'll never use it.
He does such a good job explaining the material and is always available to help you if you need it. One of the best professors at UGA.
Great teacher. Somewhat repetitive but you learn the material. Very basic math. Just make sure you do the homework.
I am not a big math person but this professor was really good about making the material understandable. The class just gets really boring. The book helps and making sure you do the practice problems. Also skipping lectures is a big don't. Once you skip one, you're lost forever.
Wonderful teacher that is great at teaching the material to the students. The topics we learned are very easy and he's really repetitive so the stuff will get drilled in your head. Pretty boring class overall but if you do the homework and study before the tests, you can get at least a B+ on the tests.
Jack Morse is probably the nicest professor at UGA. The class is very easy and he makes sure you know the material at lectures. 5 star professor and fully recommend him.
Morse explains the material very thoroughly, so if you simply go to class and listen, it's a breeze. The material is not hard, homework is easy, and labs are an easy 100. There are lots of extra points (in case you miss a lab or homework) and there is an optional 5th test. The only people that do poorly are those that don't attend class.
Great professor! If you understand stat you don't have to go to class because everything is online, but if you need some help go to class and he is awesome at explaining it. Final is optional which is always a plus! Take him!
Definitely one of the best Statistics professors. His notes are fill in the blank and so informative you can teach yourself basically everything. Attendance isn't taken, you only have to show up for lab. All your assignments are on Webassign, there are about two a week. Tests are just like the homework. Do the homework & pass. EASY A
Professor Morse has to be my favorite teacher at UGA. He does not take attendance, but I liked to go to class because he explained it so well. For me, I just went to class, did the homework, studied the night before and made a high A on every test. LOVE him. Easy A if you just put in a little effort.
Jack Morse is the coolest guy ever. He's probably a superherosecret agent.
Jack Morse is the best. Great guy. Even better professor. Take his stat class. You will not regret it (he really is a superherosecret agent).
Easily one of the best, if not the best, math teachers I've ever had. He explains things well so even if math isn't your forte, you will understand it. He's very helpful if you don't understand a topic. If math comes easily to you, you may find yourself bored in lecture but everyone else is grateful for his clarity.
This class was pretty easy, if you pay attention to lectures. Tests count for most of your grade, so be sure to study for them! (They're not very hard.) Morse is very nice and always willing to help!
Easiest class at UGA. Tests are easy and hard. Tricky and straightforward. Play your cards right and u could walk out with an A. 5 tests, the fifth test is optional. And also the hardest. Took all five tests. 2 100s and 2 80s. 100 on homework and labs. Left me with an A. You can do it! Study and you'll pass with an A
Some people say this class is easy, but everyone I talked to thought this class was very hard. I think everyone who doesn't do well, does not give a review. I did not think the homework and tests were the same. The multiple choice questions on tests were killer to your tests grade. He is the best professor to teach it though.
easiest class at uga period. skipped class once a week. so far Ive made high As on every test. its not hard. first two months you talk about what the mean of a sample is. come on now.
Prof. Morse is one of the bet professors I've had at UGA. He explains things effectively, and is extremely nice and approachable. You can easily tell he really cares about students and wants to help you understand. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should go because he's really good at teaching and it will honestly make the course a lot easier.
GREAT STAT PROFESSOR, MAKES LEARNING STAT EASY AND UNDERSTANDABLE. IT HELPS NOT TO SKIP CLASS, PAYS OFF WHEN DOING HW AND STUDYING FOR TEST. DROPS ONE TEST GRADE, THE LAB IS SUPER EASY AND SHORT.
Morse clearly explains everything in a concise manner that relates to everyone. He always asks if everyone understands before moving on, and he is always available after class, no office hour visits necessary.
I rarely payed attention in class, labs and homework are enough practice to learn the material very easy.
Morse just lectures, class isn't mandatory but you need to fill in the notes so I went. I studied so hard for the tests and only made 84's on all of them. I even took the optional final & got a 76 after studying for days. The questions are just not related to the homework or notes. Avoid if possible.
Morse is pretty clear at what you should do to succeed in the class. As long as you attend class and lab and do your Web Assign homework, it should be easy. Lectures are pretty boring, but he teaches the material well.
Professor Morse is great! He explains things really well and is willing to meet with you to explain things further if necessary. He is very friendly and is willing to answer questions. He sends you the notes to print off and bring to class. He drops some of your lowest homework and lab grades and drops your lowest test grade.
As good of a professor you can ask for. Very open and helpful if you need extra help. Would definitely take again. HW every week due to web assign, but best BUSN professor in my opinion.
TAKE HIM! He's awesome, so nice and cares about his students and is always willing to help. One of the best teachers I've had at UGA
Jack is a great guy. The class is difficult, but that's what you are going to get with any professor. Go to class, do the homework, and study and you can get an A. On the other hand... its not the type of class you can pass by winging it.
Great Professor! Out of all the BUSN teachers, he is the one by far. The class is difficult for sure but he makes it seem so much better. Take him!
Great lectures (well, as great as math lectures can be). Weekly WebAssign homework, three case studies (last one optional), and two midterms + final. Class attendance is taken via clickers (extra credit). Teaches well, course is straightforward. Highly recommend taking this professor.
Great professor, you really just have to show up and pay attention. Attendance is optional, but if you go you get extra credit. If you don't go, you won't find any motivation to learn the material yourself so just go and listen and do the homework assignments and you'll do just fine.
Great professor and loved his style of teaching. Tests are on webassign which sucks but go to office hours after an exam to try to get points back from rounding/unit errors. Homework every week and 3 case studies (drops the lowest one) that are fairly easy but time consuming.
one of the easier classes for the first year terry core classes. he cares about his students and stays after school and throws test reviews sessions as well as webassign review sessions after class. i dont know another professor who puts in this much effort in the past 3 years at uga. take him!
One of my favorite teachers at UGA! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Attendance is extra credit through clicker questions so I recommend going. Your weekly homework is one webassign assignment and they aren't bad at all. You have 2 case studies and 2 tests. Case studies are easy As and tests are not bad if you study for a couple days.
Jack Morse is the best. Math has always been a stressor for me, but he puts everyone at ease. There's a webassign homework each week, but they're easy and help to prepare you for the tests. Super chill and a fantastic teacher, this class was truly a breeze.
Morse is No1 for BUSN4000 class. He makes it easy to understand the concepts and provides help outside of the classroom. There are weekly hw, 3 cases(only do 2 of those 3), 2 tests and a final. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS AFTER THE TEST GRADES COME OUT. He will give you back points for small mistakes you made. Go to class because it will give 3 EC pts.
Great teacher. You can learn a lot about the material from just going to class. The first portion of the class was more for me difficult because it was math based but the second half was much easier. The tests were similar to the homework and the case studies were easy As. Go to class to get 3 bonus points added to your final grade.
Great lecturer, and a very nice guy. Super helpful, and will answer any question. Attendance is not mandatory but its necessary to be there for lectures. Tests are not very hard if you study the homeworks and practice problems and he is a very kind grader for partial credit.
easy class, felt like a waste of my time because I had taken calc and stat. Take this class online if you're like me. clicker questions every day.
Jack Morse is an angel. This is a pretty hard class (debatably the hardest in Terry) but honestly he is THE kindest professor ever and if you go into his office hours he will do anything he can to help you. He genuinely cares about his students and their understanding of the concepts.
Great professor, hard class. If you've never taken Calc be ready to study HARD for this class. Tests are on WebAssign which sucks but if you go to his office after exams he'll walk you through it and may give pts back for WA errors. Overall Morse really cares about his students. But, in my opinion this class was harder than Finance and Accounting
Really nice guy who cares about students. Content is low-key hard especially that 2nd test. Do the first 2 case studies (they're harder than you think) The class was hard and unnecessary, but there are LOTS of opportunities for extra credit. Stay ahead. Do webassigns. Go to reviews. you'll be fine. TAKE HIM. most chill out of them all.
Not sure why the other reviews are so positive; Morse is alright, he talks the whole time during lecture and never stops to connect with them on a personal level. He's also really rude because he will straight up ignore your emails if you have a question on the Webassign. Class is difficult because of the stats portion, homework is long.
Morse is great at explaining things seems pretty nice. Lots of webassign homework. The course is extremely hard - there's stat and calc. He doesn't seem to be very good at emailing students back though and since the coronavirus pandemic, the class structure/lectures have been confusing. I think he's the better BUSN4000 professor though.
Morse is great, and I really liked the first half of this course (calc). It was not too hard and the test was not bad at all. But since COVID-19 this class being online (and switched to stat - which is my minor btw) has gone from chill to living hell. I copied one of our weekly HW assignments into Word and it was 126 pages (26,000 words)! Wtf?!
First half (calc) is super easy and the test is super straightforward, once stat starts the homeworks get ridiculous. The TA who did the homework and made videos on them took 8 hours to finish one homework which you could see from the timestamps. Morse himself is an average lecturer, not interesting, and is not lenient towards students.
Morse is a great professor: the best one to teach you this course! Sure, it can be hard if calc/statistics isn't your strong suit but his lectures are easy to follow and he's committed to helping students succeed. Lots of WebAssign HW, but are essential to helping you pass the exams which are also administered on there. Put effort into studying!
If you are not good @ math, you will struggle. I took AP calc & AP stat in high school and it saved me. This class is no joke. The hw takes forever, but if you can do the work, you can get an A. He gives you everything you need to study for the exams. He is for sure the best one to take this class with. Opportunity for extra credit too.
He does an excellent job of taking the material that looks super scary and explains it in a much simpler fashion. He is extremely generous with grading and is an easy person to talk to. Beware: The final is worth 40% and while attendance is optional, I personally NEEDED to be there in order to get a good understanding of the material.
Morse did NOTHING for moving online to covid. At first I thought the prerecorded lecture videos were him, but soon found out it was either a TA, or just someone else completely. All profs for the class use the same prerecorded vids of this random guy. I have no respect for him for using this method of covid teaching
Took him online Fall 2020. Used another professor's lecture videos (as did other professor's). Nice guy. First half of the class is Calculus. Second half is Statistics/Regressions in excel. Getting the Skoolers Full Semester package was worth it. 12 homeworks that take a while to do. 1 midterm and 1 final that is cumulative. Both hard. Hard class.
lot's of extra credit, 2 tests and 12 HWs, drops 2 lowest HW grades. Morse is a really nice guy and will respond to emails quickly but sometimes can be vague in answers. He is pleasant and nice. Class is really hard, make sure you do good on the midterm because the final is a lot of information, hard to memorize everything.
DO NOT GIVE UP IF YOU DO BAD ON THE MIDTERM! I got in the 50s range but grinded to have a good homework average and got a 97 on the final and STILL ended with an A with his grading scheme. Morse is a great professor and is very understanding and helpful. Do the homework and get the highest possible grade on them and an A is very achievable.
He is boring asl. The TA posts hw videos before they're due and that's how I did it, never went to lecture. If you took Calc and MSIT, you will do fine if you know how to finesse. Did I learn anything? No. Well, the Excel functions were kinda cool. The course costed me $100 with Webassign and ProctorU (but like why proctoru).
I really loved Professor Morse. I thought the lecture videos were really great and very helpful if you didn't understand a concept. I didn't do as well on the midterm as hoped, but the stat part of the class is a lot easier imo and I was able to get an A from the final. Out of all the BUSN4000 teachers, he's definitely the one to take.
Morse is a great teacher for a hard class. He prepares you for the worst and for the most part tests you on the easy information. He is understanding and is always answering questions that students have. BUSN4000 is all around difficult, but Morse does a great job leading his students to succeed.
Morse is a great prof, he is really organized and knowledgeable about the subject. He's really nice and is always willing to help you. The class gives you every resource you need to succeed. It helps to have prior knowledge of stat/calc but its not necessary to succeed.
Morse is the best choice out of BUSN4000 profs, he's a really nice guy so if you go to class really good. I personally got skoolers and never went to class so it didn't matter who my prof was. Skoolers gives you everything you need to succeed. Easy 100 for a test grade if you use Skoolers for homeworks. 2 tests and a final. Study/Practice for them.
Honestly the gold standard for in-person lectures. He understands how students learn. He gives you the difficult, lengthy questions on the homework and then leans back for the exams. If you struggle with math and statistics I would recommend Skoolers, but does not seem like a necessity.
He is literally the nicest professor and his lectures are very helpful. He understands how to teach. Class is just difficult in itself due to the mixture of stat and calc. Tests are hard because of the amount of material but he has a great grade breakdown that makes it so homework can help your grade a lot.
Dr. Morse is one of the best professors Ive had at UGA. Super nice guy and excellent at explaining material. This is a difficult class but Morse makes the material clear. Highly recommend Morse for any class.
He is the nicest prof ive had. He posts the other teachers lecture videos if you have to miss class but go to class bc he is sweet and it will make him happy. Homework can be time-consuming. Tests arent hard but arent easy. Just do homework and study day before. As long as you feel ok with material, tests are fine. He's a good prof if u actually go
Morse is the GOAT!!! Super caring and wants everyone to do well. Has an almost excessive amount of available resources to help you throughout the course including old lecture videos, notes from BUSN3000, and videos of TAs going through the homework before the homework is even due. 99 on first test and 105 on second one. Not studying for final.
This class was such a breath of fresh air after Accounting I & II and Finance. I felt that every lecture was worth going to, that he explained the concepts excellently, and that the tests reflected the course content. There was nothing that ever caught me by surprise, and I genuinely feel that I was graded on my ability to perform what was taught.
Put it simply: he's the goat. If you're nervous abt the class, go to class and listen to every word he says when he teaches - it's all valuable. Class was divided between calculus, data analysis, and advanced statistics. Studying is important, but if go to class studying will suck a lot less. Go to class, Take notes, study - you will do well.
Jack is great, but please just buy skoolers at the beginning of the semester and study for tests with the study packets along side the web assign material. I would go into the tests feeling 100% confident to only get terrible grades on them! I did great on the final.
Great professor! Super helpful outside of class, lectures are very clear and he makes sure to go over confusing topics multiple times. Goes through examples in class, provides a TON of resources on eLC. Told us the test would take into account the time constraints, so it was very fair and over things we actually covered. Couldn't recommend more!
Professor Morse was nothing short of incredible. His lectures were captivating and his organized nature left me without any confusion. His eLC page has every tool you could need to succeed in his class. Also, there's no attendance policy (though, he let us out early all the time anyway). Definitely one of the best professors I've had at Georgia!
I'm going to miss Morse's class. Calc and stats don't come easy to me, but he really makes an effort to explain things well and is happy to answer any questions, no matter how dumb they may feel. He's also great about letting us know what is important for the mass exams. The best large lecture professor at UGA!
Professor Morse was one of my favorite professors I have had at UGA. His lectures were engaging and he really cares about his student's success. The homework assignments take time so make sure to start in advance. He responds to emails really fast and is helpful during office hours. Would definitely recommend taking him!
Morse is the best. His lectures are engaging and you can tell he enjoys what he teaches and is very knowledgeable. He is super accommodating and very helpful. He responds fast to emails you can tell he really cares about his students. The homework assignments are long so make sure set aside time for it.
this man is a literal angel and wants to see students enjoy the material and also pass the course. seriously take him he is the most wonderful caring man and explains a difficult concept well.
You'd have a hard time finding a problem with Morse. He's ridiculously nice and really wants everyone in his class to succeed. First half of the semester is all calc, and he makes it so easy to digest even if you didn't take the subject in high school. He's also super receptive to questions and concerns about the content.
Professor Morse is amazing. He really wants to help you before exams and provides all resources needed to complete the course (homework reviews every week, office hours, etc). He is also just a really nice guy.
I loved Morse and his class! Good lecturer and explains material really well. Homeworks and practice tests are very similar to exams, so if you understand those problems, you'll be fine. He also gives everyone the opportunity to earn an additional 3 points on your overall course grade, which is super helpful. Definitely take Morse for this class!!!
Although I am not a huge fan of stat, I really enjoyed Professor Morse's class. He really seems to enjoy the material and cares about his students. His lectures were very easy to understand, and even though attendance wasn't mandatory, I would definitely recommend going because it helps a lot when learning the material.
He is just the best. Take him! and going to class helps
This class is significantly more difficult than BUSN 3000. The exams aren't really all that bad, but the homeworks are very annoying to complete, as you have limited attempts on each question. Dr. Morse is a very competent professor though, and he knows what he is doing. If you simply are attentive in the class, you'll be fine.
Morse is one of the most boring lectures I have had at UGA. He goes in circles during class and continuously runs over. Your best bet is to get Skoolers. The homework will take hours, especially when you get to stats. In contrast to 3k this homework will not explain how you missed a question. Best of luck in this class if you didn't take calculus.
Morse is the best 4000 professor hands down. He makes sure every student in class understands the material and he is the nicest professor I've ever had. I am awful at math so I was worried I would make a C in the class or have to get Skoolers, but Morse provides plenty of practice and his lectures, while slow at times, prepare you well for tests.
Amazing professor
Sweet angel man. He is so helpful and explains everything very thoroughly. If you pay attention in class, hws are not too bad, and the exams exactly like the hw/test review. I didn't take calc before this class but Morse explains everything so well that I had no problems adjusting. Mandatory final though :(
He is so nice and genuinely wants everyone to do well in his class, however I literally never went to class and just used Skoolers. first part of the class is a breeze if you have taken calc before. Go to test reviews bc sometimes Skoolers covers too much.
Morse is an amazing professor. He makes the somewhat difficult content digestable. Class is split into a calc and excel portion. 2 exams+ cumulative final & weekly WebAssign HW (25%). You will have to dedicate time to this class, no matter the professor. Lots of opportunity for EC and 2 grading scales. Would recommend morse 100%!!!!!
Morse was so caring and passionate about the class and his students. Attendance is not required but you should go to keep up. Tests are VERY fair and so is the final. There are weekly homework that are reasonable. Please take him. Seeing how passionate and sweet he was made the class worth it. 10/10.
Professor Morse is very caring and passionate about the class. While lectures can be dry at times, he explains the material thoroughly. Using Skoolers and Unstuckstudy alongside the class helped me stay on top of the work. Overall, an enjoyable and manageable course.
If you pay attention in class you will do very well
Morse is great, easy going, and understanding. I took this along with FINA3000, although everyone said don't, and it was pretty manageable WITH Skoolers full semester package.Homeworks will get long come second part of the semester, and studying for the final will feel like you're studying 3 completely different things, but an A or B is attainable!
Not an easy class but you are given everything you need to be successful. Morse gives a good bit of extra credit and prepares you well for exams. He is also just really caring and a good teacher. The hw in pt 2 of the semester takes forever but isn't that hard. Tests aren't easy, but practice exams and hw's are great preparation.
Great teacher with an easy final. Test 1/2 are harder than the final. Final is worth 40%. Do not have to go to class but it can help.
The reason I scored low is because I am bad at calculus. First part of the course is challenging, but if you can do the web assign practice test you are golden. Second part, piece of cake but get Skoolers to explain because it is a lot. He is a great professor and VERY caring. But, the final exam destroyed me and my friends. Do not forget about it.
Not difficult at all with 0 calculus background, literally just do the homework's and understand what you're doing and you're golden. PowerPoints have all info you need.
Simply do the practice tests and you will do well on the actual tests. Also the home work is a big portion of your grade so its a free grade booster.
Can count on my hands how many times I went to class although Prof Morse is kind and teaches the content well. You only need the PowerPoint slides and to understand the homework to perform well on the 3 exams. TA Kez is a great resource for homework help or general questions. Final was free. I studied for 30 min. before the exam and got a 96.
Similar to busn3000
Morse gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, and the course is only weekly homeworks, 2 midterms, and a final exam. Super easy if you have some calculus background, and just make sure to constantly do practice problems. Also the ta is AWESOME - go to review sessions!
SO SWEET hes literally so sweet and adorable. busn is hard but he is very helpful and amazing. never went to class and finished with an A
Morse is the GOAT and by far the best BUSN4K professor. He knows the material well and is very good at working through it with you. The class material is hard but he does make it easier to understand. Alot of extra credit and he is very easy to reach In/Out of class or by email.
Morse knows the information and teaches it very well. I barely went to class just did the homework and attended the hw sessions with his TA Kez which was SOOOO helpful. The exams are not nearly as hard as the homeworks you just have to understand the information. Take him for BUSN4000!!
Morse is the goat. 100% Take him. The homework can be very lengthy and annoying, but it sets you up well for the exams. I went to class, but you don't need to. He clearly enjoys what he's doing and cares about his students. His practice exams are also near identical to what you get on the exam. I have nothing negative to say about him.
HW's are a lot but prepare you and I suggest going to class.
The best professor for Busn 4000. I never went to class and just went to Kez's reviews, and he'll teach you everything in an hour. If you do all the homework and go to the review sessions with Kez, you'll get an A. If you take it with FINA 3000 the tests will always be right after another which is terrible.
A generally chill and nice professor. I stopped going to class pretty early on, but the homework assignments and practice exams are super useful and prepare you for the exact exam questions. Also gives bonus points for doing the homework early and consistently.
Great professor and the TA is great as well. Easy class if you have some calculus background but still requires a medium amount of studying. Never went to class but I did go to some HW reviews done by the TA which were very helpful. The material isn't the most interesting and webassign kinda sucks but this class is not bad at all with Prof. Morse
Professor Morse is a great teacher and chill guy. Super helpful if you're confused, and his TA runs helpful review sessions for the homework and exams. There are two exams and a cumulative final. First half is basic derivatives (easy if you've taken calculus), second half is Excel regressions. Weekly HW can sometimes take 2-3 hrs.
Such a nice guy, went to class just because I fw his vibe. 2 computer lab exams and a paper final. Home works were long and arduous but you could always get them done. First half of the course is derivatives, second half is excel but Morse made it pretty easy to understand. Class is not difficult if you know basic calculus and have excel knowledge.
Absolute goat, prepared us well, tons of extra credit opportunities. Take him over all the others
Jack Morse was great for BUSN4000! The class itself can be kind of tricky if you have never taken AP stats or a calculus class, the homework was pretty time consuming but he offered a good amount of extra credit opportunities, so do the HW's early! The final is cumulative so be sure to review in advance, but I thought it was fair.
Wasn't a hard online class but the teacher wasn't as helpful as I had hoped. I went to the TA for everything and he was super helpful!! Pretty easy class would take again. Over summer it feels like a lot since homework is due every couple day but there are lots of opportunities to get extra credit!
I would definitely recommend Morse. He gives good insights on exams and is engaging in class.
Morse is so nice, and you can tell he really cares about teaching. I wish I understood this class because I really do like him but calculus just doesn't click for me. He's very approachable after class or outside of class to help you. I've heard some horror stories about other professors so take him!
Very slow, methodical lectures. Such a nice, clear, and encouraging person. Definitely take Morse! Two homework drops and TONS of extra credit opportunities. Also great study guides. Literally makes this course as digestible as possible. You don't have to come to class, but if you do, extra credit and great lectures.
TAKE HIM!! He is such a genuinely sweet guy, wants you to be successful. His lectures are very easy to follow and he gives so many extra credit opportunities. The class is hard in itself, so take Morse for a much better experience!!
Dr. Morse is very clear and has detailed and informative lectures. Homework isn't too hard, but it is a tad lengthy but is useful for exam prep. I think he is definitely the best BUSN4000 professor and he provides a lot of assistance if you need help.
One of the best professors I've had in college. Makes statistics feel easy. Definitely encourage taking him! He will work with you if you're struggling.
Morse is a caring professor, and statistics is just hard in general. But his lectures are so unengaging and he teaches statistics in a more complex way that can be confusing. Seems like the best of the BUSN teachers tho. They aren't able to pull up anyone's excel work for test 2 so be prepared to get a bad grade and not know where you went wrong.
He's a very cool and nice guy, but having the classes of a stats class be lecture-based is not conductive to retention and learning. All homework and midterms are in WebAssign, so be ready to scratch your head at your correct answers being marked wrong. However, the test prep materials are super useful and the TAs were always available to help.
sooooo much homework but it prepares u well for exams. TA is absolutely amazing and he posts recordings on ELC, a lifesaver for preparing for exams. first half is calculus, second half is excel regressions. the second half was by far the easiest for me but if u understand basic concepts like derivatives youll be fine. very sweet and helpful.
The amount of homework is awful but Prof Morse is super helpful in his lectures and will sometimes solve HW problems in class. You can earn up to 5 bonus points on your overall grade between class attendance, the syllabus HW, and earning at least 80% on all 12 HWs. Attendance being optional was convenient some days. Highly recommend Prof. Morse!
Lots of HW!! But if you finish them two days before it is due you get extra credit–give your self a few days to complete them. I never went to class and got an A. First half is calc, second half is excel. The calc is very basic, and the excel can be tedious. I got the skoolers and it helped a lot with the HW and extra practice.
Best option out of all of the BUSN4000 professors. Course is half calc and half stats. People typically find one half much harder than the other. Personally got a lot of value from going to the TA homework review sessions every week. Lowkey unsure of the real world applicability of this course. Jack is a good guy though. I'd take him again.
