He is extremely boring, sarcastic and obnoxious. He thinks he is funny but he belittles students instead. You do not know what to expect from him either. He is not a fair grader. I would recommend swtiching from his class ASAP!!!

I took his class for a summer course. Seems to grade pretty fairly. Not too hard, not too easy.

Professor Moskowitz was the rudest instructor I ever encountered during further education. He was very unprofessional and had no respect or interest in the perspective of others. Too bad for tenure!!!

This is a horrible teacher had the worst experience. So horrible I thought about quitting school. I am a A student especially in Eng and I got a D in his course. Prof Moskowitz is the worst professor I ever had. His jokes are very dry, and he is very inconciderate of how you do your work. Take it from a project connections student, HE SUCKS!!!!

He has got to be the worst teacher i have ever had. I mean nightmare. He makes you do a lot of writing and then spends all of the class time reading your essays outloud and critizing them. The class time is painful and his attitude is very very sarcastic. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of him.

Good Prof. He knows how to deal with students. If you are not ready to work hard. DO NOT TAKE HIM. However, he knows how to get students to be ON TIME in his class.
His teaching method just plain sucks. He assigns essays and then reads them aloud to the class. As he's doing this, he tells the class what is wrong with the essay. That was basically every class. It felt like a waste of time and I didn't learn much from it. You'll do fine if you listen closely to what he wants and model your essay to that.
I've had the worst experience ever. It is too late for me to switch to another class. Mr.Moskwitz teaching strategies is terrible. He belittle the entire class, by reading your essay out loud. The quizzes that he gives, is so stupid with no meaning. Take my word he is an ahole!

Not easy at all. Very old-fashioned. But if u r a good writer, you have a chance to get a good grade. Although I was working hard, my attendance was 100%, the tests that we took in class both were 100%, and my essays were between 80-90, I got B and was very disappointed...

i had him for independent study this semester which is awesome way to take a class and i didnt think he was a bad teacher at all. hes boring and kind of pointless to listen to because he repeats himself but its an easy class and 4 essays a midterm final and research paper. you get a lot of time to do essays too.i would take him again for IND STUDY
Not the best professor available, but not the worst either. The workload in his course is probably the lightest of all the 121 teachers: it was only 5 papers, research paper, and few in-class quizzes. I've heard of other professors assigning journal entries due every class but not with this guy. He seemed almost ignorant of students needs at times.

he's the most boring teacher i've ever had. he gives you 1 week to hand in your rough draft essay and another week to hand in your final essay. in class he goes over everyones essays & bearly helps you fix your paper at all and when its time to hand in your final draft he gives u a 70. you DO ABSOLUTLY nothing in class.it's seriousy a waist of time

The only reason you guys do badly in his class is because you don't know the basics of writing and grammar. Yeah, class can be boring, but if you know what you're doing it's easy to do well. If you can't handle sarcasm, don't take him.

He really knows his grammar and knows what he is teaching, he might be really really boring but he has some good jokes once in a while, his quizes are easy unless u dont know how to write, and the research paper is only 100 words long, i recomend the class for people who dont want to read and do work every class.

This professor is the best english professor who ever existed. He really knows his stuff. He is extremely funny and his classes are very interesting. He his also very lenient with his grading. I would definitely take him again.
He's a nice guy that'll bring your grammar and sentence structuring into College-level land. But his involvement is ghostish at best. If you take him, do the homework and don't text in class and you should do fine.
If you have good grammar, take him. Many people don't like him, but I loved him. He gives no tests, only really easy quizzes (in which he recites 5 sentences that you have to fix grammatical errors for), and about 5 500-word essays per semester with a 1000-word term paper and an essay final. I took him 2 semesters in a row (ENG-121/122) an got A's.

I happen to like this professor a lot. I've noticed that most of the students stating poor opinions about this man use terrible grammar. He is usually humorous during class but tends to explain things very well. His essay topics have been fairly easy thus far and I can honestly say that I don't have a problem with him or the class.
He is a very good professor, he knows what he teaches and he is very helpful. Of course I had to study to get a B, but I learned so much from him that,for my English courses, I would take him again! Take him and you will improve your English!
He flips off the subject when you ask a question and don't remember to come back to what you asked . He tells you to fix your work and rewrite it but then how he tells you to fix it it still is always wrong he flips it to something he didn't tell you to do. If you don't like him and don't show up to class he give a surprise test no grade if out

This professor teaches from your essay's. You will not learn a thing in this class! So, brace yourself in the event that you do select him as your English Professor. At times you will find yourself confused, but don't be it's his method of teaching. Note: Keep up with your essays each week. Stay on topic and watch your grammer. Good Luck!

I believe in giving everyone a thorough chance and honestly i tried my best to give him the benefit of the doubt, i'm very unhappy with his teaching methods. English 121 is turning more into a current affairs class, there are no notes, and all class consists of is him reading aloud essays and classwork and ripping them apart. Theres no positivity.
He's really not that bad. I mean, he'll bore you to sleep and all, but he'll actually help you out. The worst part of the class are these three really annoying kids that can't shut up. Other than that, it's not terrible, but I definitely don't recommend it to anyone.

His class consist of criticizing your weekly papers. He doesn't give any helpful information that isn't already stated in your textbooks. In my opinion, my writing is the same as it was in the beginning of the semester. He is very rude answering emails. I once asked him a question and instead of answering it, he told me to re-read the directions.

Pretty cool professor. Honestly, he's a little misunderstood. Gives you the knowledge to pass his class. I will admit I had a few moments where I nearly fell asleep. I can recall him almost whacking me to wake up. Overall didn't regret taking his class.
I liked him. He talks very soft and is not clear, incredibly sarcastic but hes funny in his own way. 1 short essay due per week and class consists of him reading students essays and mocking them, that's it real simple. If your a decent writer like I was the class will be easy but if you require extra help look somewhere else cause you wont get any.

Terrible! He talks way too soft and if you ask him politely to speak up, you won't be able to hear his voice. My notes always got mixed up. Plus, he should stop reading essays in front of the class. I would switch out immediately. After the first day of class, half the class became empty.

He is a great professor. Respectful, intelligent, funny and very helpful. He gives plenty of time to write an essay. I liked that he read and corrected the drafts in front of a class ( anonymously ) . It helped me to pay attention to small mistakes I made unconsciously. I would definitely recommend this professor.

A crazy tough class, but incredible as a teacher. My class was fairly small, as a lot of people dropped out, but thanks to that he was able to focus on each of us individually. Don't try and take the class for an easy grade, because you won't find that here. Seriously great guy.
You can hardly hear this guy when he talks. The class has to be dead silent or you won't hear his little whispers. Gives basically no tests, all your grades come from essays, so if you're not a strong writer, you definitely won't pass. Very serious. Will lock the door and tell you not to come in if you're late. MCC needs to force this guy to retire. He talks really soft and you fall asleep easily. He's very rude and insults everyone by reading everyone's essays out loud in the class. College is tough. If you care about earning a grade and making that something you are proud of, skip him. That said, he is an arrogant guy and I think he could "help" a lot more students if he got over himself. I did find that if you could see past his limits as a teacher he was actually a smart and intuitive man.

Don't expect to pass his class unless you kiss up. His lectures are almost always irrelevant to our criteria of learning as he always goes off on tangents about how horrible students are. The only good thjng is that he allows food, that is if you eat without making a single sound of disturbance.
It's upsetting to say that for the first time a teacher put me down and made me feel bad about myself. I love school but this class gives me anxiety. He's a very tough grader, so you have to work extremely hard to get an A. However, the course material isn't difficult. There isn't a ton of work, and the essays are straightforward. I didn't mind him reading essays out loud. I just day dreamed until he read mine, then wrote down all he said to improve my paper since he just reads the draft.
There are SO many sensitive people in this rating section. So what if he reads your paper to the class? It is ANONYMOUS. NO ONE KNOWS IT'S YOUR PAPER, EXCEPT FOR YOU AND HIM. If you actually paid attention, you would receive the tremendous feedback he gives while reading the papers out loud. All of these comments reek of laziness and sensitivity.
He reads your essays to the class and criticizes you when you make mistakes on your papers. His jokes are ridiculous and announces first quiz and then after that everything is unannounced.
Professor Moskowitz is a pretty good professor. All he does is read everybody's essay to the class anonymously, and that is the whole class. I enjoyed not doing that much work.

All we did in that class is write papers. I either got Bs and Cs on these papers. Come in on time for class. Don't show up late because he won't open the door unless you have a valid excuse. He is always making these weird jokes and analogies. If your draft sucks, he's gonna take points off. Only miss class when he's going over drafts.
Be on time, respectful, and put away your phone. You will learn alot. He cares about students learning how to present themselves properly and write professionally. He teaches skills to students to enable them to write clearly, concisely, and intellegently. He is an aquired taste, and can be humbling, but I like a challenge and brutal honesty.
The class is an easy A and great for your GPA. He gives pop quizzes that are no brainers. The bulk of the grade are essays. He gives you 1 week for drafts and 1 for the final copy. Just write an average draft and he will make corrections for you that you use in your final copy. The lectures are a little boring but he does crack jokes quite a bit.
This teacher was the rudest person I've ever met. He was racist, and he graded extremely harshly. On the first day, he said how he hates Dominicans because of a Dominican Pride parade making him late for something. He made racial remarks and he was very rude. He flipped a table over at some point and almost crushed a classmate's foot.

Im honestly very back and forth about Moskowitz. He is old so very old fashioned and doesn't know how sensitive the world is today, which makes him seem insensitive. Hes an easy grader but you have to show up for class. Class is so boring. Probably would take again for the GPA booster

Mosky is the funniest man alive... his lectures make you wanna fall asleep but when hes cracking jokes its hilarious His class is mad easy... his pop quizzes are so easy a freshman can do it Just be on his good side and get the work done and youll be fine
His class is just too boring. He is a very tough grader I feel that I deserve a much higher grade but I would take him again cuz he only gave 4 essays for the semester and made us have a whole week of brake. I did the essays the night before, but whatever....
Most boring teacher. Reads ur essays SO SLOW during drafts & it barely helps, He blinks so much (just look u'll see). Doesn't even teach anything, just says stuff. Handwriting is so small u can't see, even with glasses. U can write a good essay & still get a B. Syllabus makes no sense idk how I'm graded & called a kid a Son of a in my class.
He is a great prof and a great guy. I noticed a huge difference between the essays I wrote before taking him and the essays I write now. He is a tough grader, gives ALOT of time for every essay, and goes through every single draft to correct it before the final copy is due. He is a funny guy, but you will find the class boring. Was a very tough grader,and only graded a few things. Makes students feel dumb for asking questions though he insists you ask them. Jokes are eye-roll worthy. Barely teaches anything and simply reads your papers out to the rest of class as class. Gets triggered at the smallest things, and makes you feel small for pointing things out he did wrong.
He was terrible. He did not teach, spent most of the time reading papers in class ands insulting student's papers. All he does is judge everyone for the things they do wrong. Avoid him, you will regret taking his class.
Extremely boring and has to open the blinds because its still not bright enough, handwriting is terrible and cant understand it, reads essay slowly, pop quizzes on grammar and other things, forces you to buy english book DONT BUY IT, theres no use of the book, and its just a pain to be there and wait 1:50 for class to end. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
