This guy is awesome! He gets everyone to participate voluntarily and he is very interesting. A lot of people (>75%) had trouble with some of the material, so make sure you read & think about economics as much as you can!

Very hard treacher, however, he is sooo worth putting up with. By the end of the course you will know econ. My class started with 30 people and ended up with 8. He explained the material in depth. Take him for Econ, no questions, the Best there is!

Best teacher on campus. Irreverent, sarcastic, very demanding. He is not a JC teacher, reminds me more of what i would want and expect at upper-division/graduate level. if you can put up with him, you will KNOW economics. absolutely brilliant. i am considering taking it again just for the experience

Wegman had surgery for cancer so we had a different teacher Albert, after the first test. I got a D on the test with Wegman and the a B on Wegman's test taught by Albert and an A on Albert's test. Maybe the 1st test was just hard.

He made my major Econ. He is brilliant, funny, fast, informed, & involved in helping students. This is the first class I had to try to get a good grade and I loved working at it. He is not what you would expect at a JC, he's too good. Don't take this if you're just trying to get a good grade.

Wegman has a straight-forward no-nonsense method of teaching and tells you staff as it is. He has no tome for BS. A great economist who expects University level work from his students. However, found him a bit hard to follow at times. Mr. Albert the sub was awesome - got an "A". Great experience.

Wegman is my favorite teacher of all time. His classes are better than TV, but at the same time, he demands enough that only the serious students are left at the end of class. There's a lot of mutual respect in this classroom, and I greatly appreciated that. Practice your essays!

Brilliant and tough. No BS or you will cry. People dropped like flies - but then again charts aren't open to your opinions and thats hard for people to understand. One of the best and most invigorating teachers on campus. I am minoring in econ. You are allowed to swear at him. He says BF's and GF's are a waste of time while in school. BEST

The BEST teacher I have ever had. I wanted to get up for his 7am class! I learned so much in his class it was amazing. I walked out each day wanting to know more and more. He gives everyone**** and you'll get called out for being stupid, its all in fun learning though. His goal is to make you less ignorant

Class is difficult at face value--that is if you treat it as a basic three unit class, forget about it. The course easily rivals a 4-5unit class based on the homework load. Read the chapters and dont miss class and leave with an A :)

One of the hardest classes ever but worth it. Mr. Wegman is the man. Biggest hardass the first few weeks until the scrubs drop but will treat you like gold if you commit. I couldn't stand him and then grew to love him, taught me a lot about myself. Be prepared for a challenge. Try to take Wegman and Shulke back to back, you will have so much fun.

Wegman was very tough but i know my material now. I transferred to a 4yr and in my intermediate classes we're covering stuff Wegman drilled in me. He likes to see successful students but has no time for those who are goofing off. He IS tough!!

Best Macro teacher I've ever had. Runs a little hot sometimes but it makes you learn the material. Nothing comes as a shock if you go to class and read the book. Never had a dull moment. In fact, gave me many lightbulb experiences.

Absolutely hated this class. I tried so hard to do well and pretty much failed due to his self-made computer game that made no sense whatsoever. Took the course at SSU with the best econ professor ever, who made it so easy to understand and didn't have any stupid computer games to play

Extremely good teacher. DO NOT MISS A SINGLE DAY OF CLASS OR YOU WILL BE SORRY AND PROBABLY NOT PASS IT. Very fun lectures and he really keeps his opinion out of the material which is a relief. I would say that if you plan to take econ with Jack, don't screw around at all. Read the chapters, take a voice recorder for his lectures, he talks very fast. I would be happy with a C, but Im getting a B so ha!

I think he is an outstanding teacher. It is not easy to pass his class but he is very clear and helpful if you want to understand the material. He would support students who wants to be successful and you can get an A from him if you work hard. English is my second language and I got an A from Econ 1A.

He can be intimidating, but he is a great teacher. He really incourages his students to do well and is willing to help them achieve that. He's funny and isn't afraid to make fun of you. He always talks about watermelons and being "capped on". I just wish he was taching Econ 1B.

Good lectures, keeps it interesting when I had expected a boring class. Most people laugh a lot in class, although there are a few who probably won't dig him. Study, do the homework, and see him during office hours if you need to, he's very helpful. Tests are tough (mult choice/definitions/essays), but fair. I'd take him again if I could.

his was the first class i took in college, and it was still the best. not to say it was easy. it was the hardest class i ever succeeded in. i love wegman, and i considered taking macro econ again just so i could have him again. no joke, the best prof i have ever had, or ever will have. a true gem.

class was very interesting...however, the professor does not make it easy to get a good grade. he doesn't let you see your midterms throughout the semester but has a cumulative final exam. doesnt make sense. also he doesnt really review for final which makes it tuff. other than that he is an exciting teacher and you will learn alot!

Mr. Wegman is one of the best professors that I have had. Yes he is tough. Yes he requires his students to work hard. Yes he requires his students to read the textbook. Yes, he assigns a lot of work. But in the end it is to the students' benefit. His"Quizzes and Exam" book is very helpful and so is his "Data Bank". Thank you, Mr Wegman!

This isn't a hard class, Wegman is a straight forward professor. Everything he lectures on is 100% relevent, even the funny side stories because they retain our attention. If you're there, you don't have to read. I never read, only glanced at the book before an exam. DON'T SLACK OFF FOR THE FINAL EXAM! IT'S WORTH 50%... BUT NOTHING UNEXPECTED.

Despite what others are saying about Wegman, he is not rude + he does not YELL at students. He WANTS students to understand so he asks ppl. questions. Those who did not do well in his class have nobody to blame but themselves. Jack Wegman should not only teach economics, but he should also teach other professors how to do their jobs. He will not just hand you a grade; you must do the work. But he provides EVERYTHING you need to be successful, and just like life, the rest is up to you.

Wegman is such a ****! He tries to tell you that you are @ the "Harvard of the West Coast" i.e. CAL - and he grades as such. If he is not qualified to teach @ Harvard or CAL (he does not have a PhD), then he should not grade students as though he is. I am on the fence on whether I love Wegman as a teacher or completly despise him. In this class it helps if you are outgoing and able to take a good yelling at (for lack of a better term). Wegman has very strong opinions when it comes to economoics but it is hard to determine what his political status is. The class definitely will MAKE you learn

Extremely dynamic in his lectures, format is hard to follow. Wastes alot of time asking questions instead of lecturing. Test subject matter on occasion not thoroughly covered in the class. Bottom line, this class requires extra sessions, office hours with the instructor to get an idea of what is expected for exams.

Jack Wegman will at the very least completely change how you feel about Economics, if not your entire life. I took both Econ 1A and 1B with him, and although it was very tough--I got an A in the former and a B in the latter--I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I don't care if you're an Econ major or not, you MUST take Jack Wegman's class.

Wegman is a great teacher because of his passion for his students. Prepare to work really hard. He stresses the importance of going to lecture, but he repeats material a lot so if you can get it right off the bat you might not have to go as often as I did. He gives a TON of office hours and extra help before exams. Hilarious guy! Take his class.

Jack is an enterntaning teacher. However, a lot of the studying is done on your own time. He reviews the material but he often goes of topic. He assignes homework and does not collected or review it. He teaches economics from a general point of view and does not really prepare you for the exams. He constantly reminds you of drooping the class.

First off, Jack Wegman is my hero! He is the absolute most intelligent professor on campus. I recommend him for anybody. Go to his class, you will learn alot from lectures. Ask him questions. Wegman is great. I had him for 1A, and now have him for 1B. He makes you see the world in a new light. He's funny, a great teacher, will help you with anything, and expects you to work hard. Jack is a very intelligent man and fairly good professor. However, your grade is based solely on the exams, so if you aren't a good test taker, don't bother with the class. It'd be a better class if he had homework that contributed to your grade. I totally understand the material yet don't do well on exams, therefore I don't do well in the class.

Funny, but extremely hard, if your in the habit of just taking notes on lectures and not reading the book, you WILL get an F. Grade is based soley on the midterm and final. Good prep if you plan on going to a 4 year school, as he teaches just like them. "A teachers job is to make the subject interesting, its your job to read and understand it."

I could go on and on about Mr. Wegman. He is such an amazing professor! He is by FAR the best teacher I have ever had; he really has changed my life forever. His lectures are so interesting. Wegman puts it plain and simple right at the beginning of the semester. If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, you need to break up with them, no joke! This class is a ton of work but Wegman is always there to help and makes the class so interesting! One of the best teachers I had at the JC by far!

He's hilarious, but he's intimidating. He strives to help you but insists that there is always someone lying to him (frankly I think that tactic is counterproductive). The tests are harder than the material covered in class. Bottom Line: He's a good teacher and I recommend him, but it's his way or the highway while you're in his class.

Mr. Wegman presents economics in a very practical way, rather than just relying on the material covered in the textbook. He really prepares you for the way economics works at a UC. You will not regret taking Mr. Wegman if you are serious about economics and want to broaden your understanding of economics beyond the scope of a textbook.

Tough teacher but extremely fair on exams and helpful, IF YOU GO TO HIM! He doesn't babysit his students. Yes, he can be intimidating in class, but it keeps you on your toes. You need to be comfortable with linear algebra to do well in 1B. He works hard to give his classes work equivalent to 4-year schools' econ programs

Mr. Wegmen truly cares about his students. Do not take his class if you want an easy A. He is the only teacher I know who comes to class on his day off to have a study group before his tests. Make sure you know Linear Algebra before you take this class or you will get lost. Go see him if you get behind. He is awesome.

Wegman is HILARIOUS. He does his own thing while he's teaching; sometimes you'll go kinda slow and other times you'll go really fast. But he teaches it, and he teaches it well. He's only hard because he expects you to know your stuff. You need to know it and go; there's no time on tests to look up at the ceiling and wait for the answer to come.

Great teacher. His dark sarcasm and cynical humor are great. While he doesn't get Modern slang, he is full of classic humor. He is difficult but his love of the subject will keep you on the edge of your seat. Take his classes only if you are truly motivated to learn. He won't give you his opinion and he doesn't care about yours.

He expects you to do your absolute best and put everything into the class. Is that too much to ask? For some people it is and that's why they don't like him. Pay attention in class, study the concepts, and practice the essays. You will do fine if you do that. He really isn't as hard as people say. He's actually pretty good, and he's funny, too!

Great professor, my economics interest was thankfully fostered and nurtured by him and I continued to complete my B.A. in economics. I feel that if students do not like this professor it is because they did not do well in his course or they are not use to working hard and using their brain.

Wegman is truly the best teacher at the srjc. you will not go wrong taking econ with this man. he is knowledgeable, entertaining, and humorous. you are graded soley on tests so attendance and reading are important to passing the class as well with practicing the essays on the test. interesting stuff that you want and need to know! take this class!

Wouldn't it be nice (an old beach boys song) if the teacher would actually cover all the material on the test before students even take the test. This teacher is not easy by any means. He makes jokes and they're funny to some degree, but he goes off on tangents about just about anything. If you contradict him, he'll be sure to prove you wrong.

Economics is not an easy or simple subject. Wegman does an amazing job of making it relevant and making it clear. This is a class that you want to make sure to attend, a lot of material is covered in one sitting, also make sure to keep up on your reading, makes all the difference.

Wegman does a fantastic job at forcing students to do their work. Contrary to some comments here, he teaches everything he tests on, and will push back exams if he thinks he hasn't taught all he needs to. He also manages to find time for some stories that relate to the subject and add to the overall classroom experience.

By FAR the best teacher at the JC. I dont know what some people mean with their comments but he definitely covers everything on the test and gives you tons of examples if you go to his office/study groups. He also gives great advice. All he expects is you to do your work and an A is totally accessible. Plus his daughter is AWESOME! ;)

The best teacher I've ever had. He is very clear and always makes sure everyone is on the same page. Attend class, take a lot of notes, read the book, bring what you need. VERY BASIC college rules. He is always open to being proven wrong and will always change things when needed. visit him in his office and ask questions. it IS possible to ace it.

Took him for both 1A and 1B, loved him for both. His lectures are very clear, and he tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test, and I do mean EXACTLY, so they're easy to study for. You can bleed points if you make careless errors, but you shouldn't if you study. He's incredibly helpful and hilarious. Econ with Wegman is an amazing experience.

Jack Wegman has a mad-scientist edge to him that keeps the class hyperenergized and often laughing as he drills basic economic principles in your head. As I found out, you absolutely cannot neglect to study or come to class, although he's not taking roll. The best part of the class is the shift in how I read the news: I ****ing understand it now.

Difficult class but a great teacher. He will seemingly go off on random tangents and seem crazy at time but by the end of the class you know it was something he meant to do. Very entertaining teacher and I'd recommend him even though I dropped because of difficulty. Do the readings and study for test or else.

I remember walking out of his class every morning and saying to myself, WOW! i really learned a lot. He not only teaches you economics, but a whole new way to think. Wegman is the craziest teacher I've had but a really good one. He really teaches you the info, When i read the news now i know what they're talking about!!

I LOVE Wegman! He is like a shot (or two!) of red bull in the mornings. He has the best intentions and really wants you to do your absolute best. His lectures are clear, and he occasionally goes off on tangents, but they make the class fun! I hated economics one year ago, but he's made a believer out of me. I will NEVER regret taking this class.

Wegman takes an interesting apporach. Half "scared straight" and half technical lecture. He forces you to do the footwork yourself which is not unreasonable and offers excellent study groups before tests. He isn't crystal clear on expectation, sometimes overstating and sometimes understating them. The lectures would benefit with powerpoints added.

Mr. Wegman is excellent teacher. Yes his class is demanding but if you put in the work you can get an A. Wegman makes himself very available for help but you must seek it. Don't miss class. He teaches a lot you won't get from the book and class is fun! If you think Wegman is too hard then don't bother going to a university after!

I feel like I would have been better off with another teacher but unfortunately he has a monopoly in teaching this class. He also has a nasty habit of skewing his tests to be graded on the blue book work so he can slash you on things that he thinks are wrong how he wants. Also there is seemingly no order to how he takes off points and that sucks.

Wegman is demanding and difficult, but he is a very good teacher. The bluebook part of the test is strictly the graphs you've been doing for the past month, so if you've been to class and have studied, you won't have problems. Wegman is crazy and fun, but don't get on his bad side. Just be a good student and study and you'll be totally fine!

Favorite teacher at the JC. Difficult, but extremely fun and funny. Makes you learn, but is very helpful. The only reason people would give him a bad rating is because they don't want to put in the effort and do the work. If you are a good student, you will love Wegman!

His tests are hard, but with plenty of studying are doable. In a nutshell, study and know your stuff and you will be fine. As I said before, a very good, albeit challenging, teacher

This teacher enjoys the sound of his own voice. He loves being on stage and also loves to incite anger in his students. He is in position #1 of the worst teachers I've ever had, and I have 2 degrees. I would avoid this man and look for an Econ. teacher that is less concerned about himself, and more concerned about teaching.

Wegman was tremendously influential on my undergraduate ambitions, and he inspires passion for scientific study. He tells the class that if they want to compete and succeed, they should study math. math and computer science. (and econ... but I'm not so convinced) :) Thanks Wegman, I hope you can be an A!

Professor Wegman is an excellent professor. Make sure you are completely comfortable with doing math really fast. (His tests are strictly timed.) He has convenient office hours, a practice session for every test, and tons of links on his website. He will help you learn. Highly recommended for serious students!

Wegman is a good Economics teacher but the class is not as easy as you think.If you want an "A" in his class, Make sure you read the book and take good notes. Doesn't give a lot of homework but you have to memorize the terms. Overall, I would recommend taking this instructor if you want to learn about Econ.

Rude and disrespectful, this man is jaded about his topic and teaching in general. He often drifts into tangents about life lessons that have serious costs on the class he is supposed to be teaching. Most of the class was too intimidated to participate. Sadly, he IS SRJC econ. If you must take this class, show up every day & keep your mouth shut.

A demanding, yet incredibly thoughtful professor. the amount of study time is measurable to a 5 unit class. He is brutally honest about what is required to succeed in his class. If you have a girlfriend/boyfriend take a break for a while until the class is over (JK). Thank you so much Wegman!

When asked if there are any other classes because i got a notice that the class i enrolled in was canceled.His exact response was "The online classes are already full, and we will not be adding any additional sections this fall. They should sell tickets to Mr. Wegman's sections. Every class is a floor show that requires you to fasten your seat belts and hang on. He takes no prisoners but you learn more than than Macro economics, you get a big slice of life. He's one of the best, anywhere and his students end up everywhere! Looking forward to 1B.

Great teacher with fun lectures. Nobody has mentioned his tests on here though. He doesn't write them so the wording on multiple choice tests can throw you off, but thats not even bad. The hardest part is managing time. Unless you can hand write essays super fast, you'll probably run out of time. Take his class for sure, just be prepared for tests.

Jack is a handful. His lectures are very bias and irrelevant. He is extremely conservative and bashful on liberal views. However he is hands down the best Econ professor at the JC. He is also really nice out of class. Didn't pick up the book and got a B. Could've gotten an A if I read. Overall you learn a lot of key knowledge. Take the class.

Wegman is a character. Pay attention. He has a lot of wisdom for young college students. He gets frustrated when politics is brought up as he teaches Econ theory. I thought he was tough, but I learned a lot. I found him to be very helpful both in and out of class. There are plenty of opportunities to succeed. Did not ANY see co-ed preferences.

I was even scared before I take his class but i had no choice that I had to take econ with him. He definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to Econ but I definitely don't agree with his grading style. He bases your grade solely on 4 exams. No credit given for homework (which you don't turn in) or attendance. Not a good class to take for someone who struggles with the subject.

Another spectacular professor at SRJC. He only asks that if you consider yourself a student, you act like one. Grading can be a little hard on blue books, but he is always, ALWAYS available to clarify ANYthing you may need help with. Engaging and intelligent. Grading is tough but fair- adjusted to account for this strict standards.

Wegman is something else!He is a great instructor and cares deeply about ECON. I am an A student and got a C in his class because of the time constraints where the exams are concerned. An A is possible though. I struggled in his class but when Ben Bernanke speaks I understand every word he says and that is thanks to Wegman.

Wegman has great lectures and is passionate about the subject. Expect GPA related rants because he is involved with the transfer center i believe. I've received straight As all through college until this class. I received a C. Advice: read the text book THOROUGHLY because he does not write his own tests so class material is only half the test.

If you're looking for life lessons, look no further. However, look elsewhere for an Economics instructor. He soap boxes, and preaches often. He will go off on irrelevant tangents, and then test you on material he never covered. His teaching style is intimidating and unorganized. I'm not sure why he held in such high regard.

Wegman's speeches and love for teaching econ inspired me deeply to form my first selected major of Business econ. His lectures are very clear and he explains the material well, and he also takes time before every friday of a exam to have a study group. I definitely would recommend him for econ if you believe grades are "earned" and not give .

This man is an amazing teacher. He will teach you college level stuff. His tests are a PAIN. Never enough time to complete them. Best advice? If you have the option to skip the blue book, DO IT. Wegman is absolutely an amazing professor. He makes lectures entertaining and clear. He has such a bubbly personality, that there is no way you will get bored in class. On the other hand, his tests are difficult; plus, no graded homework. 4-5 tests a semester and it is not based on a curve. You actually have to WORK for a good grade in his class.

Wegman's class was definitely challenging, and required a lot of studying. Making friends you can study with for tests is a very good idea. Also, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS STUDY SESSIONS. He covers material at these meetings that he may have left out during class. Participate, listen to lectures, and make sure you understand and you will do fine.

This was my favorite class I have taken ever. Jack is an inspiration to all levels of students, he explains the material very well but does not cookie cut things for you, which will help students advancing to the next level of college. If I could I would take him again. I would rather have a teacher that I learn a lot from than an easy A. Great Guy

Life changing! He couldn't possibly be any more helpful, clear, or fair. His lectures are extremely detailed, his office is always open for questions, and he does everything he can to set you up for success, but, you have to put in the EFFORT!! Tutoring, study sessions, homework (not graded) & reading will help you pass. He is a REAL college Prof.

Expects a lot, but you get a lot out of the work. He says at 1st class, of the 50+ students here, only 15 will make it through to the end of the semester. His lectures are explosive, and he doesn't have issues waking up students that may be sleeping in class. Very thorough, helpful if you put the time to meet him during his office hours.

What a typical test looks like: 30 time consuming hard multiple choice, 20 graphs with a paragraph each explaining, then an essay question. All in 80 mins. Its a rarity that a student finishes a test, let alone get an A. He's a great guy, but it seems like he takes all the anger he has out on making his tests hard as possible.

Only take this class if you are having this class as your main focus. He has amazing lectures and I learned so much but he expects a lot from students. The final was 80 multiple choice questions and 36 graphs w essays in a blue book. I didn't finish most of the tests. Always be prepared and sit in front of the classroom and be attentive.

I'm usually a great multiple choice test taker (always As and Bs), yet I never finished an exam, never enough time! I did all the homework & attended daily, I BARELY scraped by with a C. I enrolled in his class to get high school and college credit. Obviously, I was expecting to pass. Now here I am, two months in, and he tells me to drop his class. He pulls his tests off of the internet and doesn't offer any extra credit. If you miss one class, you're screwed. I got a 37% on the midterm, even though I studied for hours.

Wegman is incredibly clear about what he expects from his students. If you do not attend class and study you will definitely fail. He does not let students 'get by' which is how all college classes should be honestly. I got an A in Econ 1 despite not getting an A on all the tests, and so far Econ 2 is going even better because I know what he wants.

I took this class in 2001 and it changed my life completely. Truly inspirational. No BS. At the time I wasn't seeking out inspiration, I was a smart ass 19 year old kid looking to grind out GenEd before transferring on. Now, in my thirties (with a career, family, etc.) I look back and remember this course and prof as one of my all time favorites.

He replaced our normal Econ teacher this year after the fires. He is a great teacher but to do well in his class you have to work very hard. Gives hard tests which are not easy to complete. He also has a bit of an eccentric personality which might not sit well with some people, most of our original class dropped after he took us on.

I thought his teaching style was going to save my grade but it actually made my grade drop even more. He had canvas which is usually very helpful but I would have to go to his profile just to find the link to go onto his canvas. He went on random tangents which did not help me learn the content at all. His canvas was very confusing.

A truly inspirational instructor. The only things you will be tested on are those that he has explicitly said in class. Expects extremely thorough essays, or you won't receive an A. Makes concepts follow each other very logically. The current event quizzes are hard, as potential material is vast, but their point value is low. Will change your life.

Wegman's class was life changing! Although it did require work, it was his class that made me change my major to economics. To study I went over the vocab, and got together with a couple friends and reviewed his lecture notes and the math. Read the chapters, do practice problems, TALK TO HIM. Absolutely do not miss a class. This is how I got an A.

Professor Wegman was a phenomenal teacher. He genuinely cares about economics along with his students and their futures. The class is probably the single most difficult class I have taken at the JC. You have to show up every single class and read through the textbook if you want an A/B, less for a C. Grade consists of 3 tests and 4 short quizzes.

I took Wegman for Econ 1 and 2. Hands down the best teacher I have ever had. You learn more in his class than you could possibly imagine. He is so passionate about Economics and it is shown through his lectures. He makes learning fun and interesting. However he also makes you work for your grade so be ready to study many hours a week. Don't take this class unless you're an economics major. Great lectures but repeated himself a lot and crammed information before exams. Grade is only tests and a few short quizzes, so don't take this if you're not good at taking tests. His lectures were inspirational but his grading scale made it impossible to do well in the class.

Don't take his class unless you're an economics major. Hardly any homework so your grade is only based on tests, but his lectures aren't clear so don't take this class unless you're good at tests and teaching yourself. Theres hardly any good econ teachers at the JC but if you have to take it take it with Conley, she's amazing.

Wegman is a funny and nice guy but his teaching Method is terrible. Lectures are easy and repetitive, but when it comes to the test its a whole different story. He states if you can do well on the practice test you can past his text but most of the stuff on the main test arent on the practice test. He also doesnt give a lot of time on the test .

I also don't understand why this professor is so revered. He frequently pulls talking points out of the Economist (a newspaper) and tries to pass them off as his own. He does not provide adequate preparation via his lectures for tests and quizzes and has a generally jaded outlook on teaching. He's banking on his reputation from years ago. Avoid

Wegman was a great econ teacher. He covers important topics in depth in class and expects us to read the textbook outside of class. If you read the textbook and do the practice test, getting an A in the class should not be a problem. I never got below a 95 percent on a test. The tests were a huge part of the grade.

I am a business major and I thought that this was a very hard class. The tests covered material that did not come from lecture. Lecture only taught us how to do graphical things such as supply/demand graphs. The main portion of the test material came from reading the textbook and playing his powerpoints. The tests were not easy to say the least

Professor Wegman is a genius, hands down. This class was not easy by any stretch of the imagination. However, if you go to class and read the textbook the class will start to make sense over time. The exams heavily covered materials that were never taught in class. You have to read the textbook and learn large portions of the class by yourself.

I took econ with Mr. Wegman last semester and I thought that he was awesome. He is a very cheerful guy and will not hesitate to help students during class. In order to be successful in the class, I heavily relied on studying my notes and going to his office hours.

Wegman is probably the best Economics professor at the SRJC. His years of experience in the classroom makes him a fair and good instructor. We were expected to read the textbook (shocker!) outside of class and he taught the class as if we did. The tests also had questions from the textbook that were never talked about during class.

I took Econ 1 online with Wegman last semester. I really liked the class and he created a very positive learning environment. The tests were very difficult and required a lot of studying. I knew that this was going to be a hard class, but at least Wegman made it enjoyable. I am going to take Econ 2 with him this fall.

This was an easy class for me. I had to do a lot of learning by myself out of the classroom. Mr. Wegman wont go over all the tested material in class and his tests have material that comes directly from the back of the textbook. You have to be independent and study smart to succeed in this class.

I took both Econ 1 and Econ 2 with Wegman. His class was fast paced so you have to be ready for that. He knows a lot about the topics he talks about which makes the class easier to grasp. There a couple tests in his class. They are all worth a big chunk of the overall grade so you have to do well on them.

I took wegman's micro class last semester. It was pretty cool and we frequently read the economist magazine in class. I learned a surprising amount about today's economy just from reading the economist. Tests were based off the textbook and his online powerpoints. Nothing really surprised me, but lots of other students found them to be hard.

Amazing professor that cares for his students' success. This online class has about 2-3 hrs of prerecorded lecture a week and lots of reading. Wegman offers live zoom study groups 2x/week. No homework is actually graded, but you will need to do it and read in order to pass the tests. He grades solely on exams and there are 5 exams a semester.

If u take this class make sure to attend ALL lectures. This course is already content heavy in online videos, video lectures and textbook reading. Jack ddnt post his class hrs until after classes started so I could not attend any study groups due to conflicting sched. Dedicate a lot of time to this course, he can be hard to follow along w/ online.

Class meetings- not mandatory and were recorded to watch later. 4 exams. No assignments. No extra credit. Super hard class. But you will know what you need going into the final. He struggled a bit with the his lecture videos. Be prepared to watch him prep for lecture 1/2 of the time with no lecture content. Very knowledgable. Responds to emails.

With the very choices for Macroeconomics, Mr. Wegman is the best one to take for it. I took him during the COVID online learning and he really strives to help you pass the test with practice tests. However, get ready to grind. Our homework wasn't graded, which was cool, but made it hard to see what we got wrong. Very incompetent with technology.

I've never had a prof so incompetent with technology. If someone in my class hadn't made a group chat, I probably wouldn't be surviving right now because there is always so much confusion. Wegman is very intelligent, funny, and a good man, but he does not know how to teach an online class. He provides no structure in his online course, so if you need structure, RUN! He assigns like 5 1hr long lecture videos on each topic, and acts like econ is the only class you're taking. Very technologically challenged as well. Def dont take online

Prof Wegman is probably a great teacher IN the classroom. :) But for online classes, this has been the worst class I've taken. Class isn't mandatory but if you don't do all the HW, you won't pass. Even if you do ALL the HW, you still might not pass. I've had great Econ teachers and Wegman isn't one of them. Avoid a headache and take someone else!

The WORST online class i have ever taken in my life!!!! The professor is incredibly incompetent in his online teaching skills. He has no assignments, and all grades are based off four exams. Even though I answered most of the questions correct, but he required a very specific format and answer and gave me ZERO on every single questions!!

4 tests but you spend the first half of the semester on the first test and take the last 2 tests In the final 2 weeks, and doesn't grade on a curve. Offers 3 textbooks to choose from and they do not help. He does not want you to email him and will not accommodate you. Terrible professor, don't even go to the SRJC for econ save yourself.

Fantastic guy, just needs a lotta help in the online aspect of class. This was by far the most difficult class I have ever taken. Go to the office hours or at the very least watch the recorded meeting. He did not verbally assault anyone (weird accusation), he just gets amped up and excited about the topic. This was one of the hardest classes that I have taken. However, Professor Wegman did give us everything that we needed to learn the objectives. It was not easy! It was a lot of work, a lot of lecture to watch and a lot of reading and all tests. BUT I did walk out with having learned some Economics. If you do the work, you will be fine.

His lectures are boring and you will find yourself skipping through a lot of the lecture because there is a lot of idle time in his lecture videos. Your grade is dependent on the exams. Amazing & great professor! You have choices to choose your textbook. Lots of video lectures & reading the assignments are doable. Office hours are available every week. Great professor!!!! I didn’t get to finish the course his teaching ability is amazing I actually enjoyed learning in his class. Do the homework assignments, your time listening to the lectures, and reading your textbook. He gives you plenty of practice exams to prep you ready before your exams. Your grade is based off of 4 exams. one bad score can affect your entire grade. There are a LOT of lecture videos, but he knows his stuff for sure. He is incompetent with technology, but he responds to emails quick, if you send them at like 8 am. The layout of his class on Canvas is unorganized. he has office hours, he can get sassy, so be careful

Extremely unorganized modules. Syllabus doesn't match exam dates or workload. Lectures are long because he doesn't prepare slides in advance, and they don't cover everything on exams. Grade is based entirely on exams. Watch 2 hr office hours weekly or fail. Take Econ at another school or prepare to give up everything just to barely pass this class.

This class has got to be one of the toughest classes I ever took. The only and I mean ONLY thing he grades are your tests and whether your graphing is accurate. One wrong small detail and its a point off. Do not take this professor if you have another option go with that. Definitely not worth 3 credits since it felt more like a four credit course.

Oh my god, do not take this class! Graded off four exams, so if you do bad on one, there goes any chance of getting a decent grade in this class. One of the worst professors I have ever come across. The lectures are irrelevant to the tests, unorganized canvas pages and useless office hours. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!! This class ruined my GPA.

Professor Wegman was my introduction to the world of Econ. He's a nice guy but his class was difficult, especially online. He has lots of lectures and readings and you are only graded on 4 exams through the whole semester so if you do poorly on one as I did it is really hard to make the points back up. From what I heard he is the best option.

Your grade is based off 3 tests and the final exam. If you do poorly on one exam you cannot get the points back to improve your grade. Harsh grader, will take points off graphs for small mistakes. Lectures are very long and lack any example application of the material presented. DO NOT TAKE UNLESS YOU HAVE A LARGE TIME COMMITMENT.

This course will teach you a lot and you will need to put in a lot of work to get a good grade. It is super important that you are good at pacing yourself and not procrastinating with work. The course is set up in quarters with deadlines throughout the semester. The textbook is free online. Lots of lectures and reading

Course was demanding but not a surprise for a economics course, Wegman does a really good job answering your questions and is nice if he messes up, but beware if you procrastinate its almost nearly impossible to catch up, and say goodbye to your A in the class. Overall, I'm really happy I had him as a teacher, he has enthusiasm teaching economics.

This class was the hardest I've ever taken. The exams had a 70 percent average at best. The professor is uncompromising he doesn't want to help you pass. He grades hard and doesn't comment on the score you got.I never recommend taking his course. Do anything else and you will do so much better. Seriously
