Great professor - smart, good communicator, respectful. There is a lot of work but at the end you actually learned something. One of the best professors at Pace.

You will learn a lot in this class, but it may come at the expense of your sanity and well-being. The courseload assumes that you have no job, no family, no life. Takes a tremendous amount of work just to keep your head above water. His summer session is just as demanding, by the way.

Pros: clear, concise lectures, teacher relevant stuff, there is a lot to be learned about Excel too, 2 on-line midterms + a fair final, curves the grades, knows his stuff. Cons: very short breaks (less than 5 min), huge amount of HW, insists on group assignments, sometimes cynical. Recommended.

This is a touch course no matter where you go. But this guy makes it easy to understand. Do the work, stay on top of things and you'll do great. This professor is one of the best I've had during my whole educational career!

This is definetly the prof. to take if you need MBA628. One of the smartest people that I've met thus far. Although I did well in the class, I must say the tests are very hard. You definetly need to commit much time to studying.

GREAT professor. Knows what he's talking. Very clear lectures. Very interesting topics and examples. Very useful class. If you want to learn stats, he's the one you should definitely take. For me, it's been a very interesting class and he certainly got me very interested in the field of statistics. But remember you have to study to excel!

Good class. Take this professor if you want to learn. The material is dense but Yurkiewicz applies real examples to the theory which makes a difficult subject easy to learn. Keep your Sunday nights open because you’ll end up taking your exams at home on-line. I found this class to be very useful.

He is a very good professor, you will learn a lot. You should take him especially if you are a finance major, this class will give you the base for a lot of financial models you will be developing. Be prepared to work. Try not to take him over the summer, a lot of work in short period of time.

Must attend class! Practice using the software. Practice the problems he give in class and for hw. 2 exams taken at home and 1 in class final.

Brilliant, and I'll pay him the ultimate compliment-I'm taking him again for MBA 630. That being said, he does not suffer fools lightly and his grading policies are strict and tough. Do ALL homework, practice with the s/w and answer using EXACTLY the language he requires and you will not only get an A, but you'll learn alot. One of the best.

Made what would be a boring class quite interesting. Things to note: 1. You will be there the whole class time...every time! 2. Extremely helpful and quick w/ responding back to questions 3. Workload: 3 tests- two of which were online on sundays & the final was partial take-home, but mostly in class. Also, gave about 6-8 cases, but only graded 1

Great professor, one of the best I've ever had, you will learn alot. Extremely hard class though and he keeps you to the very end, but it's rewarding. Worth taking this class, you get your moneys worth! Dont miss class and ask lots of questions.

I had taken Prof. Jack's MBA 628 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I waited 2 semesters so that I could take MBA 630 offered by him and he did not disappoint me. I learnt a lot from his class. He truly gievs you, your money's worth. Very responsible and highly motivated.

I did well in this class, but it is a hard course. You will do well if your major is in analytics such as finance, mathematics, etc. If you are marketing, management, etc., you are going to hate this course since the stuff he teaches you might not use in your field. You probably would hire somebody to do that for you. He is worth your money.

Prof Yurkiewicz is a computer expert. His class is not easy but I learn a lot from him. He is clear on his lecture. don't expect an A from him but you do learn a lot after u completed his class. Recommended!

This guy is the best professor in my life. I like the way he uses optimal usage of technology to teach students. He makes difficult things look easy and uses real world cases most of the time. His communication is excellent. He knows exactly where students find it difficult and stresses more on those parts.

However I feel he should spend more time on the later chapters like Simulation and Linear programming as these are much more important in the real time application side. No doubt he is the best in anything you ask about statistics or operation research.

Best professor at Pace University. Took MBA 628 with him also. His tests are difficult and hard. Not lenient on grading. But if there is one thing you want to get something out of the graduate program, take his classes. Highly recommend for finance/accounting or any technical fields.

Spent 3 years at Pace and Dr Yurkiewicz just summarize everything + teaching me new and practical things in 2 semesters. I learned so much from his challenging homework and crystal clear lecture. Class is tough, but the material is very interesting and relevant to anyone going into the field of finance. No book, Exams based on class and HW problems (he is sneaky with questions). I failed the midterm, got an A on final and finished with a B in the class. I def got my money worth and Yurk is a great prof.

If you follow his class, you don't need to read textbook. A strong Excel skill is a big help. No easy to get high grade. But you learn something useful!

Prof Yurkiewicz is a really nice guy and very knowledgeable about everything he teaches. That being said, I found his tests (only a midterm and a final) to be very difficult as I am not a math person at all, and only filling a requirement. The homework isn't bad and helps you understand the material but does not prepare you for the test whatsoever.

Dr. Yurkiewicz is brilliant. Very straight forward and interesting. Exams are reflective of the class content (and tend to be easier than an average level of in class difficulty)Made class very interesting and informative. A laptop is pretty much a must. The course is difficult, however. So it should be a bumpy ride. But he is absolutely great!!!

Professor Yurk. is one of the best professors I've had at Lubin. He explains everything crystal clear and there are no surprises on the exams. If you do the assigned homework and read the notes, you should do well on the exams. For those of you who just want an easy A without doing the work, look elsewhere.

Excellent professor. Very organized, moves quickly but willing and able to provide clear explanations. Provides excellent (free!) materials on Blackboard that are indispensable in understanding the material. Midterm and final are challenging but fair.

He knows how to teach. His exams are easy if you understand his questions. If english is not your native language, it is difficult to decipher what he wants from you. If you want to learn, take him. If you want an easy A, I would recommend taking a different professor.

Great prof. Unfortunately I am not an MBA student so I cannot take any other courses that he teaches. Crystal clarity,very helpful,great time during the class, as he uses the students as examples in order to illustrates the theory.Tough exams,but if you pay attention during class you almost know the questions of the exams!!

Not the easist professor as he expects that you know a great deal coming into MBA676. If you've had him for a previous class such as 646/647 then this class is a continuation of what you learned. Heavy excel knowledge and understanding is needed in order to be successful in his class.

This guy is smart. This is not an easy class, but he teaches well and the tests are fair. You will have to do the "homeworks" if you want an A. You don't have to do the hw, but you'll need to. Pretty much didn't use the book at all. I'm new to excel so went to his office hours a lot, nice guy and helpful.

Fantastic professor, you'll learn a lot if you pay attention. Tests are hard, but he curves the final grade at the end. Has a good sense of humor, but can occasionally rub some people the wrong way. But all in all, a top tier professor at Pace.

Take his class if you want to learn (which is not a bad idea considering one pays so much in tuition fees!). His tests are not easy, but definitely fair. He is always willing to help students. No projects, just homework from textbook as well as his own questions.

Professor Yurkiewicz is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable and definitely one of the best professors I've had at Pace so far. The course itself is challenging and definitely a lot of work but if you attend class and keep up with the homework you should be able to do well on the tests.

very useful course. it's essentially an Excel course on steroids. if you fall behind on hw, it will be hard to catch up- i found out the hard way. very tough grader; deducted a point for being .001 off. midterm is harder than the final but if you show improvement, he will take into consideration. I bombed midterm, aced final and ended w/ ok grade

I love professor Yurkiewicz. He is knowledgeable, intelligent, and also very cute o(^^)o. If you follow his guidance, take notes, and do homework, you will get a good grade, even though the midterm exam may be a little hard.

Professor Yurkiewicz is a detailed, enthusiastic, fair and knowledgeable professor. Some people might find him monotonous but I find it easier to learn. It is grad school, not HBO entertainment. If you want to walk away from Grad school learning useful tools then you want to take him. He always provide great ways to learn and loves to teach.

Best Data Analysis (and subsequent courses) Professor at PACE! He goes over the material thoroughly and is willing to help students in and of class. He doesn't grade HW but it is essential to do well on the Midterm & Final (each50%) but he takes into consideration if you do better on Final. Shows how useful material is in real life.

I took his mba 646 & 647. Very nice old man, speaks clearly and slowly. Always being very helpful.

Take this class and you will definitely learn a lot. Would take the prof again. Downfalls are that your entire grade is based on two exams: 50% midterm and 50% final. I feel as though H.W should have counted or some other grading criteria aside from just two exams. Miss class and you will be behind!

Great prof. Recommend. Show up to class and he shows you how to do everything. Repeats himself a lot. Shows how to do HW with clear examples. Only graded on midterm/ final but if you show progress, he will bump the final grade. Very useful class in real world. Not a waste of time. He tells it how it is and prepares you for tests. Structural and organised as far as topics go. A bit conventional in raising examples, so perhaps not the best for everyone in the contemporary setting where most people prefer an opportunistic method. Regardless, he is an individual with strong critical thinking abilities, which is not common at Pace today. Sad - no more his courses available now.
