OH MY GOSH!! JACKIE'S PAGE SHOULD BE FULL! RICHLAND COLLEGE IS VERY LUCKY TO HAVE A RARE DIAMOND LIKE JACKIE REYNOLDS..NOT ONLY IS SHE A WONDERFUL PROFESSOR BUT A WONDERFUL PERSON. MICROBIOLOGY AND ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY WAS MUCH MORE FUN WITH JACKIE..
Jackie is the perfect professor..I had her for Microbiology last semester and she really knows her stuff and she is so much fun! For anyone out there that is taking Microbiology take it with Jackie only not that other O'connor lady I heard she is bad!
Jackie is AWESOME! She is an excellent anatomy and physiology, and microbiology professor! She explains the material to her students. She is great in lab too! She is always eager to help students out, in and out of the classroom!
Very knowledgable teacher but can make you feel like an idiot at times. Her so called quizzes are actually tests--and they are really hard!
Had her Fall 03. I started the class disliking her b/c she had some favorites...left the class glad I'd taken her. I agree with all above comments(hard class, nice explanations, difficult quizzes)
I took her for A and P 1 and 2, and for Micro. She is very rude at times and talks to you like your an idiot, but once you prove yourself to her and she knows your not wasting her time, she is great. She is one of the smartest teachers I have ever had, a
Had her for A&P 1. The only reason I didn't take her for A&P 2 is she didn't teach it in the summer. I thought she was GREAT ! Not EASY, but do you want to LEARN it, or not? Challenge yourself, take her and LEARN. No, she won't be your best friend. =)
Jackie is a great teacher, especially her labs!she is very motivated to teach this course, although, if ur a slacker you will do horrible in the class and she will not give u much help.If you are willing to take the time you will learn a lot and be glad u did!!!
I took this over summer & she was rude to me from the start b/c i hadn't taken Biology- told me i had no hope and i might as well drop; was rude to me the whole semester, talked to me like i was an idiot; i was one of the only people in the class to end up with an A; good teacher, but bad attitude
Excellent teacher. Will go the extra mile to help you if you show effort. No, she is not your best friend, but she is fair and I think she cares about her students. Her tests are not hard, just very challenging, applying the concepts taught. I wish I had found her before I took my A&P classes.
Best Micro, Anatomy Teacher ive had, very thorough.
VERY RUDE AND ARROGANT!!! MATERIAL IS VERY HARD SO MAKE SURE TO KEEP ON TOP OF THINGS. LAB ISN'T HARD, BUT MAKE SURE YOU STUDY VERY HARD FOR HER TESTS. VERY CHALLENGING. SHE IS VAGUE ON HER TOPICS SO MAKE SURE TO READ THE TEXT BOOKS. DOESN'T GO IN DEPTH AS MUCH AS SHE SHOULD. HARD TO KEEP UP WITH HER. SHE MAKES YOU FEEL STUPID.
I'll give her that she is very knowledgable, and very organized, but she has ABSOLUTELY NO people skills. She doesn't make herself very clear when asking questions and then makes you feel an inch tall when you don't understand what she's trying to say.
I LOVED MICRO!!! She gives you all the notes you possibly need. I NEVER studied for ONE test, and I made an A in the class. You just have to be somewhat interested and listen. I loved the labs. She's not the nicest person... She can be really rude and sarcastic. But I loved the class, so. She's pretty easy in my opinion!!!! NEVER USED THE BOOK!
One of the best profs I've had. Really knows her stuff and gives the student many items of additional study materials, including study guides for each test. If you want to learn A&P, then take her. She makes sure the information is there for you, but you still have to take the initiative to learn it.
Knows her stuff but can be very rude. If you are putting effort she will notice. The tests are hard though. You will learn a lot from the class.
Best teacher ever!! Not easy but if you're not serious about your classes don't bother. I made an A in this class, had to read and study ALOT. Lots of study guides, quizzes, test were difficult but gave take home portions which helped, ecampus was informative and gave lots of links. She can be a little curt at times but don't take it personally
This was not an easy class, but I made a B. I learned so much in her class. If you are planning to go for nursing, I would recommend taking her class. She will tell you things that other professors that teach Anatomy and physiology or any other science classes will not tell you.
Study guide provided for Test and Lab. Provided outline for class notes and power point presentations. Do the study guides and there should be no problem walking away from her class with at least a B if not an A. I just took notes and used the outline she provided for notes and didnt touch the study guides and still walked away with an A.
Jackie is a good teacher and not at all unreasonable. She is demanding and sometimes the work is difficult. Very enjoyable class. Not for slackers.
She is very knowledgable with the material but she is not a people's person. She can be rude and harsh at times but you will learn alot! I had to read and study all the time to survive in this class, that's what we're here for, right. She teaches great but this class is very intense!
She knows her stuff. She goes the extra mile to make sure you capture what she is teaching u. Micro is a tough subject. She expects you to do your part so if you are a slacker you won't make a good grade. You must show the effort. She will help, could be strict.
I recommend Jackie for everybody. She is the kind of teacher that loves what she does and is willing to teach you and provide you as much information about the subject as she possible can. If you want to learn, take her. Her exams are not easy but if you do her study objectives you are going to do well. She is not easy and wants u to do your work.
Jackie is an excellent instructor. She has a love and knowledge of the subjects she teaches that comes through in her instruction. If you think she is being rude to you,you are probably doing something wrong. She is sarcastic, but that is one of the things that makes her fun.If you want to pass her class you better know the material. No free pass here.
She is stunning, phenomenal, superb and marvellous:) I love her!
Jackie is awesome! I have learned so much from her. Yes, she is sarcastic, but that is just one of the perks of her class. You HAVE to do your part or she WILL make you feel stupid! I made an A in her class but I worked hard! I am currently taking her again for bio2402 and bio2420. She loves what she does and she cares about her students.
Jackie is AWESOME!! She knows her stuff like the back of her hand. She really doesn't need notes to teach from, because it seems she knows it all by heart. We joked that she ate, slept, & breathes Micro.I absolutely loved her class. She does make you work, it's by far not a give me class. Go to class & lecture... PAY ATTENTION!!!
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! She makes very clear all her expectations up front. Material is straight from text. She provides you with notes and "objectives" lists which basically tell you what will be covered on the test. SHE EXPECTS YOU TO DO YOUR PART! NO SLACKERS!! Courses is demanding, but she is HIGHLY organized and basically spoon feeds you.
She gives you objectives questions b4 each test, and if you study them hard you'll do excellent on her tests. Her tests are very fair, and she rly helps prepare u 4 future courses and health professions. She's straightforward, but does not like slackers! look prepared and attentive even if you aren't. lectures are rly interesting too! Great!
Excellent teacher. She knows her stuff and is willing to explain multiple times until you understand the material. She is very straightforward. It's not hard to get an A in her classes as long as you put in the work. You'll enjoy her and like her as long as you're not a slacker!
Jackie is an EXCELLENT teacher. Very helpful, makes things easy to understand and does way more than is expected of her. Would recommend her to anyone!
I took Jackie for A&P II and Micro. She is the best! Difficult topics but she makes the class very interesting with group exercises, extra credit projects, etc. If you want to retain the info and be prepared for a career in healthcare she would be my TOP PICK! FYI--if you're slacking, you will be confronted.
These comments are not true. She is more interested in confusing students rather than teaching the material. She has to always be right, on tests, in class discussions, in lab, etc. It is one thing not to give an easy A; but she doesn't encourage students to want to get an A. I would not recommend taking her at all!
Jackie is the ABSOLUTE BEST TEACHER!! If you want to learn and actually stay awake during lecture, she is the one for you! I don't know why anyone says anything bad about her. Maybe it's because they're slackers. If you actually go to class, pay attention during lecture and take good notes, you'll make A's on her tests!
I recommend her. def not a borin cls. Free lab manual. bio is her baby so she has alot of science resources. gave 6tests, drpd the lwst grd. 2 lab test. study outside da box even though she gives study outlines.study notes & pwrpnts.gives xtra credit opportunities.u can mk an A, just study. Find a dependable lab partner, its important.
Prof. R clearly loves her work & really cares for her students. She is a no-nonsense, straight forward person. She doesn't have time for slackers & those with constant excuses, but if you try your best, she will go out of her way to help you. Attend class, take notes from PowerPoint presentations & appreciate that you can learn with a great prof!
She is a good teacher for those who do well on the test. Otherwhile, she looks down on you.If you come to her and tell her your problems not do well on the test and she just encourage to drop it.
Great Teacher. EXTREMELY knowledgeable. Uses tons of extra material to help you understand the subject. Very clear, thorough with material you will need to know. very helpful. Has excellent prepared notes to follow along with and powerpoint slides. Very interesting lectures.
I took A&P 1 and Micro with her and she is absolutely the best at what she does. Very organized and uses analogies/examples to help us understand the materials. Personally, if you are willing to do your part, I'm sure you'll make an A. I barely used the book since her lectures contain most of the info you need on the tests. Do your OBJECTIVES ;)
Jackie is great; Very helpful; cares for her students; She is very knowledgeable(take advantage) and will challenge your thinking; Her grading is fair if you do what she advices you to do. I wish I would have more professors like her, she is one of my favorite teachers ever. I took her many years ago. Jackie Reynolds is awesome.
Jackie is an excellent teacher who helped me affirm my decision to get into the healthcare field. If you think her class is hard then you are not ready to get into healthcare professions like medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and the like. She shows you TOUGH LOVE! Some people are just used to being spoon fed, you do not get that from her!!!
Jackie is no joke. if you want an A you have to work hard and dedicate alot of time into her class. if you want to make it in her class you must STUDY,STUDY,STUDY like 2 weeks prior to tests. Overall she is an Amazing teacher and you will learn alot from her especially if you are in any medical field. She will prepare you well. loved her!(:
Jackie knows her stuff, she just has a tough time sharing that knowledge. She makes it very clear that she does not like people asking questions during lecture. Her class is tough, but you'll get an A if you put in the effort. She is very condescending. Just show up to class, pay attention, keep your mouth shut, and you should be fine.
very inpatient with student's. She knows the material I will give her that but, do not ask her questions. Although I got a good grade out of her class, I would not recommend a student to take her class unless they are self reliant. If you work quit, If you have family responsibilities, sorry. You have study, study, study.
I loved Prof. Reynold's class. Some people don't like her because she's a straightforward non-BS person but her lectures and labs are clear and useful. Hard but fair tests (follow objectives!!) Plenty of opportunities to get a good grade: in-class points, online homework, quizzes, etc. Don't like to study and learn? Choose another section! :)
always rushing which will make a student not so sure of themselves panic. always creates an atmosphere that says, we are in a hurry always. no multiple choice questions. her tests are short answers and she give you just 30mins for them
This class was absolutely ridiculous. Yes, I learned a lot, but I was very underprepared for her exams. This woman needs to be at a university because she teaches at that level. Exams are not multiple choice, but essay questions rather. She is intelligent, but very, very difficult. Do not take ANY other class if you take Micro with her.
I took Professor Reynolds for A&P II during summer II and it was definitely difficult, yet I worked my butt off and got a 100. Many students dropped or failed but don't be afraid of that if you have the study habits. Tests are short answer and essay but she really knows her stuff and gives you plenty of resources to look at! Take her!!
Professor Reynolds is one of the best professors I had in my entire life. Extremely helpful! Thank you Professor Reynolds!
Ms. Reynolds is a very difficult teacher. She rushes through her lectures before you have time to run anything down. She interrupts your presentations and enjoys making students feel stupid in front of the class, she is rude and condescending and does not care if you learn in her class. Best advice, avoid this teacher.
She knows the subject very well. She is very good in dividing the class in between the biginers and those who have previous knowledge of the subject. If you are a student with good Biology knoledge who wants to take A&P, she is the right professor for you. If you are just a biginer do not think of taking her. She will make you foolish and stuipid.
Jackie is a great professor!I took her for A & P 1 and 2 and microbiology. Her classes can be challenging but with the amount of material, but she presents the material in a very straightforward manner. Just do the work and making an a will be no problem.
Jackie Reynolds is an AMAZING professor! Yeah, she is tough. She is strict. These are COLLEGE courses, and especially if you are going into the medical field, you have to be on top of your game! Don't blame Jackie because you can't keep up. Do you think it'll be easy working in a hospital? You have to earn your grade.
Terrible. Half of her lecture tests are fill in the blank. She thinks that if her class average is a C then she's doing "good". If your fill in the blank answers are not the way she wants them then it is wrong. She interrupts when you present in class. She is constantly saying "Don't be mad at the material, you're the one that chose this field".
Some of you people are such cry babies!! Jackie is an amazing professor, always has the class laughing and really enjoying it. Her tests are NOT timed and they DO have multiple choice. Only a few fill in the blank, short answers, and a choice between two essays, which are short. It's really not that hard to make an A in her class. This is COLLEGE!
This teacher is not encouraging AT ALL.She told me I was not studying when I was and always studied for her exams. She assumes everyone is trying to go into the nursing field and treats everyone like they are makes you feel bad for choosing your field of work Quizzes daily tests are half multiple choice half fill in the blank not a people person!!!
Professor Reynolds was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate. Incorporated real life examples into her lectures. She is a no-nonsense blunt person. Everything I learned will come in handy on the MCAT and medical school. So thankful that I took her!! Attend class/lab and do the objectives! Exams are difficult yet fair.
She was awesome! I took her this past semester for A&P 1 and I made and A. She's really nice and helps in any way she can to help you EARN the grade you want. Attention: THIS IS NOT ANY EASY A CLASS! You're going to have to give it your all if you want an A in here. Taking her for A&P 2 and excited!
awesome teacher!!!
Great teacher! If you work hard for her, she'll work hard for you.(generous w/the lazy students..more than I would be)Offers lots of resources that sometimes seem overwhelming, but stick to the study obj. that she constantly points to. They will guide you on tests. Con: sometimes her slides seem unorganized. Prepare before class to make it clearer
A lot of people recommended Professor Reynolds to me. They warned me that I had to work hard for the grade but its worth it because you learn a lot from her. While all that is true, she is one of the rudest professors I have had. It's really sad cause shes brilliant but has no manners. She's not very approachable either.
Professor Reynolds is extremely knowledgeable and demands excellence. No easy As, lots of reading, and an in-class quiz every lecture class. Tests are extremely difficult and include multiple choice, fill-in, short answer, and essay. Final was cumulative, average grade was 71%! Not super helpful when you have questions. I don't recommend.
Horrible teacher, stay away from her by all means and do not waste your time by taking her!!!! Honestly, she is REALLY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure where to begin with her You must be very prepared for her class. Her style of lecture is that she expects you to know the material Since I fell behind in class I went to see what else I could do She simple told me science wasn't for me and should do something else She was very discouraging. Not helpful in trying to improve grade
She is a very knowledgeable woman. I do understand that graduate school will be tough and she is trying to help prepare. Her style of teaching is very different. She is very direct and comes off rude, she will call you out. She's a know it all so she expects you to know it to. In lecture she is not thorough enough. She just halfway explains.
She's direct. Her labs aren't in order to me like they seem so it was difficult for me to catch on to whatever was going on. Nice during office hours, but help not so much. If you can figure out lecture and class and lab notes in sure you will do fine if not... Don't take her. She doesn't like when you skip class
She's an awesome professor! I've had her for 3 semesters now and if I had the chance, I would totally take her again!
What a load of crybabies. She is extremely generous and has so much knowledge. These kids chose the medical field and cry when things get too much to handle. She would say the exact same thing. If you whine too much about the material then perhaps you shouldn't be in this field. Great professor but be prepared to study! Great exam structure too!
Best professor I have ever had! She teaches from several directions with video, case studies, lab demos, lectures on special problems, to help you to understand the human body. She cares, she is accessible, & she is incredibly knowledgeable. If you want to do well in the medical field she is the prof to take! She will prepare you and inspire you!
If you do the objectives, watch all the videos, don't miss days, study consistency, there is no reason you can't make an A. I never thought I could make an A but I did. I learned so much and really enjoyed the class as did many others. Jackie can be a little scary sometimes but dont be afraid to ask questions. Best A&P teacher at Richland. 10/10
Professor Reynolds is very knowledgeable and she is very blunt with what she says so if any of you do decide to take her classes, do not get easily offended because that is how she is but she means well. I have taken her for A&P I&II and Microbiology and have made A's in all of them. OMW to PA school and it is all thanks to her guidance.
I took this class per recommendation from one of my friends after I had a horrible A&P1 professor, & I learned SO much from taking her! She has videos you watch before lecture to prepare you & hold you accountable. She is very organized & has a list of specific objectives that will be on the test, so you know exactly what will be on the it. 10/10
Professor Reynolds is amazing. She is so well prepared. Even though the class is to much content, she makes it the way you can enjoy it and really understand. She likes to do a lot of in class activities and group quizzes, but all of them help you with your grade. Be ready to read a lot!
Things to know before taking Professor Reynolds for Micro: its's not easy-requires a lot of work to do well, she is very fair and knowledgeable, she is very willing to help in office hours, extremely passionate about the topic, study the study objectives thoroughly and you'll be fine. If you want to do healthcare, take her you'll learn a lot
Professor Reynolds is both an intelligent and a wonderful professor to take Microbiology with. Couple of things: study, study, and study! Her style of teaching is more at a graduate level so definitely pay attention and take good notes. Participate, read outside of class, review your notes daily, and ask questions. Wonderful professor! Got my A!
I earned my grade and I had to study and study. I am also a full time student with 14 credit hours and have a child. Everything is possible. I will read outside and study in groups. Take time to read and understand. She also give case studies which will let me think in a real life scenario.
She is a very detailed professor in her lectures, but she does make you do some studying on your own, but it works in your benefit. She will be straight up with you about what it is you need to do ! She is really good with answering questions. She is kind of quick with her lectures, but thorough so if you're a slow listener I wouldn't suggest.
be careful with the unreal comments I warn you to take it seriously !! no multiple choice no way to find out what will come to test 75%of class dropout
She is tough but so worth it!!! You will learn a lot and she will definitely get you ready for nursing school. Shes not an easy A. She makes you work for it but you will also learn so much! I loved her and would take her again!!
The material in class is tough to understand & you will have to put in the HOURS to study. Reyolds provides class with an abundance of resources for success. Lots of group work for summer courses, be ready to apply knowledge for case studies. She makes videos of going over the class material. The textbook is very helpful. There is online hmwk
Hands down best prof! Provides outside sources so you understand what will be discussed that day or for review. There are group case studies/lab work, both of which count as points toward practical & exams grade. Exams/practicals are straight forward she will not trick you. There is online homework. Very organized and approachable.
GREAT TEACHER. She asks what career paths are represented by her students. She knows what knowledge is needed in the health care professions and if that is your path she prepares you. If she comes off as harsh, it is because she wants you to learn and is passionate about the class. Who wouldn't want a teacher who actually enjoys teaching?!
Truly an amazing professor. I really enjoyed being a student in her class. She knows what she's talking about and has healthy expectations for those coming into a micro course. Going to lectures was key to my passing- but she does not grade attendance. I appreciate her sense of humor as well. It's always nice having a professor who is approachable.
Shes pretty amazing and is pretty passionate about what she teaches. However she comes across as rude. I am use to it though take her!
Prof. Reynolds is great but she makes the class harder than it seems & it's really fast paced. I think it's a difficult class because she wants to give you an idea of how nursing/medical school is. If you're a full time student, I wouldn't consider her. You have to study so much to the point you wont even have time to study for your other classes.
Professor Reynold is amazing . I will miss her so much . If you are looking for an easy A this is not it . She will make you work hard . If youre looking to go into nursing shes perfect because her style and toughness will prepare you . Attendance is not mandatory. She will give resources to help you. She is straight forward and so funny .
She is nice, but if you are a note taker this is not your professor. She talks randomly throughout the lecture, and you have to read the book and find answers to her study objectives. Doesnt really explain everything that nice, will talk about random stuff in class and show videos to explain. Thats not what I signed up for.
She's too fast paced, her exams were hard. My advice is to do her study objectives while viewing her long video lectures.
She is SO RUDE! Everyone is scared to answer her questions in class discussion because they're scared to get yelled at. She makes the class harder than it needs to be. I wouldn't recommend taking her. She won't help you out if you're struggling.
This class was not as bad as others make it to be. It is loaded with content, especially since it was a summer session. Mrs. Reynolds is a bit tough (it builds character)but she definitely prepares you for nursing & medical school with the questions that she asks. Be prepared to study a lot for this class if you want to get an A.
She is so rude! Not sure what the hype is about her. She gets mad when you dont know the answer to a question and instead of helping and answering the answer for the whole class she just lives on and leaves us all wondering. Her exams are tricky the only positive thing about her is she gives extra credit
Professor is rude during lecture, encourages failure in students, and is passive aggressive when students attempt to ask for clarification. She does a poor job of actually teaching and relies instead on confusing PowerPoints, is very unorganized, and piles on the homework. Don't take this course unless you're looking for the hardest F- of your life
I hate her class very much. She does not care students' feeling and make me embarrassed in front of others. I would not recommend her for international students like me.
Im surprised she has so many bad reviews - she was the best professor I ever had. This class is hard, it is not an easy A, but she prepares you for the health care field. If you are serious about learning take her - you will absolutely be prepared for all other courses that branch off A&P.
