Professor Starren also teaches other humanities courses, not just 2310. You will definitely enjoy taking any of her classes. She makes the course interesting (as humanities can be quite boring for some). She's very open minded, and fun to be around!

She is such a great professor. you will enjoy going to her class everyday. She is very funny and outspoken. all the tests are take home. and you have no homeworks and one project that is really easy. i am going to take her for all of my humanities classes. SHES THE BEST!

Fantastic teacher! I hate humanities, never had an interest or did well. I took her class online for Mythology and really enjoyed the class. It is a Gordon Rule class so there is a bit of writing, but she makes all the assignments really fun and interesting. I absolutely recommend her to everyone.

She's a pretty awesome professor! we did nothing but watch videos and listen to her lectures but that's all the work was only the take home tests...even the final is take home! (ch.8-10) and two cultural events and a major essay/presentation at the end of the course. she's pretty funny, although her teaching style isn't the best but whatever.

I took her again this semester and I am going to receive an A. Her class is easy and you learn a lot about yourself. Very helpful. I recommend her to anybody.

I took her Intro to Humanities which had 3 regular tests and one midterm and one final. ALL TAKE HOME. Easy 'A' if you actually pay attention and do the work. Oh, AND LOTS OF EC!!

Shes awesome, she says love you mean it after every class and its great. Not hard to learn in her class and attendance isnt a big deal, but if you dont show up you might miss some easy glasswork points definetly take her, she wont make you stress.

I took her online class due to the pandemic and she made it very easy and clear to understand. No textbook; no quizzes; no tests; however, there are weekly paper assignments and a mid-term/final, which are very interesting. She always emailed me back promptly and provided great feedback on papers. I would not hesitate to take her &amp; highly recommend

Jackie Starren is probably one of my favorite teachers. She was super friendly and genuine with her students and offered a significant amount of extra credit on the tests. Get ready to read and watch a lot for this class, but you can pass with 95-105% easily if you know the content. Expect to spend about 2-5 hours on this course per week.

Professor Starren was by far the best Professor I have ever had. She gives easy assignments (super chill), you can work ahead, and she always emails back super quick. Professor Jackie is amazing. Her assessments are very easy but get you to understand the lesson. Her tests are a bit long but there is extra credit on all of them. Would recommend!

The class consist of 3 chapter tests and a final exam which all the answers come from the textbook, mini quizzes and worksheets on videos you would watch of a powerpoint she puts together, cultural events, and an research essay along with a powerpoint about an artist of your choosing. All the assignments are super easy but it does feel like a lot.

More writing assignments were given than expected but her great attitude and awesome coursework made up for it. Jackie is extremely accommodating and provided a lot of extra credit. I hate anything related to Humanities but Jackie changed all of that for me. Now I look forward to taking additional classes with her. Best VCC teacher yet!

The three tests are a bit time-consuming but very easy, (more than two weeks to do each), classwork is easy (there is like one assignment per week). Overall great class, definitely recommend it.

Professor Starren is a solid choice for HUM1020. She made the class fun, most of the effort you have to put in the online portion of the class. It's an easy class to say the least. Don't buy the textbook, there is a pdf online and I barely used it.

Professor Jackie is caring and hilarious! I took her during summer semester in a mixed mode and she made it enjoyable. Textbook is required but assignments are very easy. Look out for her Exams though as they are time consuming 3 Exams and 1 Final, cannot be completed in a couple hours. Just do the assignments and you should pass no problem.

My favorite class I've taken at Valencia, hands down. Not only is she incredibly engaging, but she makes sure you enjoy the class. I left her class feeling like I learned something new every lecture, and it encouraged me to learn more about mythology itself. I wish there was another class for me to take with her!

She's a very good teacher overall, sometimes u have to watch two hour videos just to complete a very short assignment, which can be annoying, but I only did one of the video assignments and still passed with an A, so you don't actually have to do those. Everything else is online and she's very nice when it comes to extra credit, I highly recommend.

This was an exceptionally EASY class. You can work ahead as far as you want. There were a couple Research Papers and a Painting Analysis project. Nothing super difficult, especially because the Research Paper is literally about YOU. She gave out a lot of extra credit too. I enjoyed the content in her class. You definitely will learn something!

Professor Jackie is an engaging and entertaining lecturer. The class is low-effort with just a few easy projects. Attendance is mandatory but worth it - plus, Unstuck study can really help with the prep work!
