Lectures were a bit boring, but Dr. Moloney is clearly passionate about the topic. Class felt easy but tests had specific questions, so know details on Blackboard slides. She truly cares about her students, meets individually to help with class material or serve as a mentor, and earnestly works to improve her teaching skills through class feedback.
she should NOT be teaching statisitcs, her lectures are so confusing, that she often confuses herself. exams are open note but she doesn't do practice problems in class so they're not very useful. when asked questions her answers are very unclear, I honestly have no idea what's happening in that class and neither does she
Moloney is very sweet and willing to help outside of class, but please don't take her for statistics if you can help it. She really doesn't seem to know what she's talking about and often gets confused. The class itself is pretty okay if you have a background in statistics (and exams are open note), but overall I dislike going to lecture with her.
Moloney is one the dullest professors I've ever had. She's incredibly sweet and caring but her lectures are boring. She'll read directly from slides and only cover 7 per class. They're all uploaded online so there really isn't a point to going to class. Super easy, but I didn't gain anything.
Prof Moloney is very sweet and clearly wants students to succeed. She gives clear grading criteria and expectations for the exams. You don't really use the textbook unless you personally want to, she gets all her exam questions from the lecture powerpoint, which she posts online. Would take again.
I really enjoyed stats with Prof. Moloney. Although stats isn't the most interesting topic, she does her best to apply it to the real world. All lectures are posted online and tests are not difficult. She is super accessible and you can tell that she wants her students to succeed. Definitely would take another class with her!!
Your grade is defined by 3 exams, 25% each, and 6 homework assignments for a combined 25%. Lectures can be dull, but she posts the slides on Blackboard so you can review them later. Exams are very similar to homework and study guides. Textbook was used for about a week, then never touched again.
Dr. Moloney is the nicest, however, her teaching style is confusing. As a relatively new professor, her teaching style is not ideal, and teaching statistics was not the perfect class for her. She knows her stuff, she just does not clearly explain topics. I am glad I had some prior stats knowledge coming in. She is very relatable and fun, though!
Your grade comes from 6 homework assignments and 3 exams. Dr. Moloney is really nice and chill, but I think her expectations were too low. All our exams were open book and we didn't even get to learn all the statistical tests. Lab was just a repeat of what we had learned in lecture. But I can't really complain since it was an easy class.
Take her class if you want to do anything except stats for 160 mins every week. Boring lecture, extremely easy homework and tests, don't expect to actually learn anything. She is a very nice person, but not a very good instructor.
I love Moloney! Stats is naturally dry, but she tries to make it interesting. I found her expectations to be both clear and generous, and I definitely learned in this class. Be sure to attend class and actually ask questions!
Not much to say. Caring and sweet. It sometimes gets hard to stay awake during class because it's always a powerpoint lecture. Naturally becomes dry, yes, but she's sweet and tries making psychology relatable to you. Though, you don't have to show up to class as long as you can self-study the heck out of the powerpoints before each exam (3 total).
Overall, the class was easy, and the grading criteria was clear, but she read off the slides during lectures and attendance was definitely not mandatory.
Would not recommend. She reads straight from the powerpoints and doesnt add much to the material. It was her first time teaching so Im sure theres still some stuff she needs to work out, but she seemed very disorganized.
Take Prof. Moloney for Social Psychology! The class is very test-heavy; 3 exams each worth 30%, none of them cumulative. The remaining 10% is split up into 2 COLL papers, which are not too hard. The exams are relatively easy and are taken from the book as definitions and from her lectures as applications. Attendance isn't mandatory.
personality theories is such an easy class. 3 tests 2 papers (2 page self-analysis) and a group presentation. Never have to go to class... super boring if you go. Monotone speaker and just reads off the slides... but study the slides on your own before the tests and you will do fine.
Lectures are rather dry and unnecessary bc she just reads right off the slides. She is young & often includes references to pop culture so the material is better rememebered. Very easy grade even without the extra credit she gives for little in-class assignments. Tests are multiple choice and easy if you know the material. Textbook is not required.
Dr. Moloney's lectures were sometimes dry, but she relates material to current things, a lot of reality TV references, which help you remember material. Only graded on research requirement (not hard), three exams, and two papers. An easy class if you put in the effort and study for the exams. She posts slides on Bb, which is very helpful- study em!
Dr. Moloney is goated. She makes lectures interesting with tons of references to pop culture and she's super accessible outside of class. Best of all, she really cares about students and how they're doing. She took student feedback and adjusted the syllabus to make our lives easier. Dr Moloney, you're appreciated!
Don't really need to show up since the lectures are posted afterwards. Tests are extremely easy and straightforward. I just read the textbook and did her study guide and completed the tests in like 30 minutes. Easy COLL 200 Credit. She tries to make the material more engaging with short videos and references to pop culture, good intro professor.
Super easy class. Material is interesting and tests are easy (all multiple-choice, straight from the powerpoints). Grade is based on four non-cumulative exams, two COLL 200 papers, and easy participation assignments. Would recommend.
While an easy A, her delivery of the material was rather dry and boring. Exam questions were straight from the book, so watching the lectures wasn't necessary. The COLL papers, participation, and research requirement were all manageable and simple.
I took Social Psychology in Fall 2020. Professor Moloney does her best to make the material relatable and interesting and she's a really nice person. The class was composed of three exams, three papers, and five discussion posts. Easy A if you listen to all her lectures and maybe skim the book if you want to be super safe.
Not the best lecturer but easy class.
I took this class online. The material was covered very well given the circumstances. I enjoyed the material and felt I really learned a lot honestly. I have a great appreciation for psych as a social science now and am hoping to take more psych classes :) If you put in the time to watch lectures, take notes, you will be fine and like the class.
Took asynchronous. Super easy grader as long as you put the work in. You don't need to watch the lectures, but it is super helpful to do so. Exams were open note, and you have a full 24 hours to take them!
This was not a difficult class, but I attribute this to the fact that the class was online and students can watch lectures at double speed. Tests aren't hard, neither are papers. If you have a bit of a background in psych, this will not be a difficult class at all.
The prof has a very kind heart and a gentle spirit. She wants to see her students succeed and the exams are very straightforward. She's open and honest, and isn't a particularly strict grader. She explains things really well and gives clear, understandable analogies and examples for concepts.
Professor Moloney was a wonderful instructor for PSYC 202. She was clear with her expectations and fair with her grading. 4 multiple choice exams that were very easy if you kept up with the lectures and put in some effort. Definitely would recommend her, as an RA class with Professor Moloney was wonderful!
This class is pretty straightforward and easy. Focus on the in-class lectures, glance over the textbook, be ready to memorize and apply key concepts. Also, Professor Moloney is great; she cares about the subject and her powerpoint lectures are clear, no trickery. 4 exams in total, few participation assignments, and 2 COLL papers.
Nice lady, but her lectures are kinda boring. Exams are open-book open-slide, so no need to come to class and/or take notes. Showed clips of The Office and Real Housewives as references. If you want to learn and remember psychology, I don't recommend this prof/class. If you just need that COLL 200 credit (why I took it), Moloney is a great choice.
Moloney was such a kind and caring soul. She is really understanding if you need an extension or need to resubmit a paper for any reason. The lectures can be a bit boring but she tries to keep them entertaining by including videos. If you have to take psyc for premed, take it with Moloney!
Moloney is a good choice for this gen psych course. Attendance wasn't mandatory since she recorded the lectures, and the 3 exams were completely open note (control F is your best friend). An easy A if you follow her slideshows. She's also very accommodating with deadlines and gives extra credit opportunities.
10/10 professor! Lecture heavy, but assignments (tests, reading quizzes, homework) are never too difficult (open notes/take home) and she's very open to questions/feedback. One article presentation, and final is an 8-10 page paper on topic of your choice. Had never taken a class with her before this & wish I had, she's great!
Moloney is such a sweetheart. She is incredibly accommodating and caring in her teaching process, but her lectures can sometimes drag on. You don't need to come to lecture or even read the text book to do well in her class. Just review the slides/notes a day or so before the test and you'll do fine. Exams were open notes/textbook/slides.
Moloney is such a nice person, and I really appreciate her extra credit opportunities if you do not do well on an exam. The lectures can get a little boring though so it can be quite tough trying to actually make it to class. Definitely a solid option if you need the CSI 200, but definitely wont learn a whole lot.
Dr. Moloney is a great professor- enroll in her intro psyc class if available. While her lectures can seem long, she makes sure to include engaging videos, which make the material memorable. Moloney records her lectures and posts them online so there's no need to physically go to class. All exams, including the final, were open note/book/slides.
Everything was open note, which was very nice. Overall, good class.
Professor Moloney is very kind and flexible with the class. Exams were open note and other assignments were very easy. As long as you put some effort into it all you'll end up with an A. Lectures could be a bit boring sometimes, but she includes videos and other media in her lectures that are fun and keep people engaged.
Professor Maloney is so kind and knowledgeable about Social Psychology. Class was very low-key, always a lecture, and she asks for participation and tries to engage with the class. Exams and reading quizzes were super easy if you pay attention in class. Awesome professor overall!
A good choice for humanities majors who are allergic to stem but want to take a class in the ISC :)
Professor Moloney was a great professor to have for an intro to psych lecture. She's very nice and accessible outside of class. All tests were open note, and as long as you watched/read her lectures and had solid notes, most people got an A. Her class is almost entirely lecture based and can get monotonous, but so are lot of intro classes.
I really wanted to like Prof. Moloney, but she just read off the PowerPoint during class. Exams were open note and open book, meaning you didn't ever need to show up or read. On some of my papers, she penalized my grade for "not including" some of the criteria, but it was very evident in my paper that I did. She is very nice, but not a good teacher
Prof. Moloney is so chill, and so is this class. One of the easiest classes I've taken here. Open notes for everything, and we have over a week to take the exams. There are a few super easy participation checks you need to do though, so definitely can't skip too much. She does speak slowly and often reads off the slides, but that doesn't bother me.
Cool and not difficult at all. All exams were online (open note) and and a great representation of material learned in class. She also did reviews the class period before each exam where she explicitly said what to look out for on the exam and what to study/not study. Probably the easiest class I have taken. The final exam is NOT cumulative.
Prof. Moloney is so sweet. She plays music before every class, her lectures are clear, and she always adds a few fun videos to her PowerPoints. All exams were online and open note, and the final is just a unit 3 exam. It's a good introductory class, and you learn a lot. Definitely recommend!
If you need to take PSYC 202 or just a C200 CSI, take it with Moloney. Your grade is based on three exams (all open-note and online), 2 COLL papers, and participation assignments. Just make sure to take notes and understand the concepts and you'll do fine. The textbook isn't required, but I recommend having the online version for the exams.
Class was relatable to real world issues. Exams were all open note, (2) papers took me 2 hours at tops, and research was just completion. Easy A!!
Very easy class. Didn't even go over content until about 2 hours before each exam. Never got below an A on anything. I strongly recommend Psyc 201 and 202 for easy A's for COLL 200 NQR and CSI.
Great class to take for Intro to Social Psych. Textbook readings aren't necessary since the exams (all open note) are mainly based off the lectures. Her examples are up to date & she incorporates a lot of videos into the lectures so that they aren't too boring. Highly recommend for an intro class!!
Very easy class. The Professor seems very nice too. Highly recommend taking this. All exams were open book and note
Moloney's class was pretty easy because all of her lectures were recorded, so attendance was optional, and her tests were open note. Your grade is made up of mostly by the 3 tests, but she gives out a lot of extra credit.
Lectures are boring to listen to, tests are open note, but material is interesting. 2 required essays and the 6 sona credits
Professor Moloney covers interesting content. The class is pretty straightforward, as there are only 3 non-cumulative open-note exams alongside the standard SONA stuff required by the psychology department. Lectures can be a bit dry, but overall if you have the textbook this class is a decent addition if you need a relatively easy COLL 200.
I took social psych with Dr. Moloney Fall 2022 and she was great! As long as you read the textbook and lectures, you'll do fine. She has several participation checks throughout the semester, so don't skip too much. All exams were open note/open book and were easy if you understood the material. I highly recommend her!
Super easy class but very boring lectures. All exams were open note and open book. Lots of extra credit available.
Professor Moloney is very funny and enjoyable to listen to. She adds funny videos and memes into slides that arent super dated. Exams were online and open note. Very low stress and fun. I also really enjoyed the research studies.
This class was super easy. All the tests were open book and multiple choice. The lectures were super boring and all were recorded, so you don't really have to go to class. She basically just read off the slides in class, which were also on blackboard (and you can use the slides during the tests).
Psych 202 is a grade booster. A class that is nice to have if you don't want to show up. A middle schooler could get an A in this class. I took this with two friends of mine, and we showed up to like 5 classes combined.
Tbh not a very exciting class at all, but very easy. Tests are open note and there are a handful of small assignments on top of the SONA requirement. She is very nice but the lectures are a little boring.
This class was easy money. Maloney has three exams and the final is not cumulative. The lectures are simple and engaging with her youtube videos in between. Her exams were also open note. Really sweet professor and great choice for social science.
This course was the second easiest course I've taken (only behind Archaeology). However, it was also perhaps the least engaging. All factors included, I believe this is the definition of mediocracy at W&M, which is probably a good thing overall.
As everyone else has said- a grade booster and an easy A. If you took psych in high school this is an absolute breeze. I found the material interesting, but that's because I'm a psych major. I found that I got more out of reading the textbook (free online) than listening to class lectures. Attendance is optional and everything is open note.
Lectures aren't mandatory, and the exams are all fair and easy to do well on if you use the slides. Professor Maloney provides lots of extra credit and extra practice prior to exams.
Professor Moloney was very kind, and I would recommend taking Intro to Psych as a social science with her. Tests are open note and she is very accessible outside of class.
Probably the easiest class I have ever taken at William & Mary, but easily the most boring, too. I only went to a total of 5 classes throughout the semester. I'd pass on this class if you want to learn psychology from a knowledgeable, passionate professor. I honestly do not know how she managed to make such a fascinating subject so dull.
Hands down the easiest class on campus. I went to one class and finished with an A. If you want to boost your gpa, this is the class to do it with. ALL exams are online and open note, and the papers are super easy.
If you need 3 credits for some reason, please take PSYC202. I went to one class the whole semester. Exams are all open-note and online. Just use the slides that she gives you, find an online copy of the textbook, and you are set. Papers are super easy as well, just follow the clear directions she gives you.
This will probably be the easiest course you take at William and Mary. I stopped going to class after like two weeks and still got an A (I did watch online lecture recordings though).
You shouldn't get anything less than an A- in this class. Don't worry about knowing everything, just know which chapter that subject is covered in.
Dr. Moloney is very kind and understanding. She can sometimes ramble in lectures, but the class is a guaranteed A if you show up and participate. The class can feel a bit repetitive of other psych classes, but I wouldn't say it was boring. Dr. Moloney always was available to our concerns and questions. Highly recommend.
Professor Moloney has designed this class for students to succeed. Open note exams, notes on powerpoint slides, extra credit, curves, everything. I didn't really enjoy her lectures, but that's not to say she didn't teach them well. Psychology is a subject I'll never like, but she got me through with a good grade. I would recommend her for Psych 202
Exams are all open notes and open books. Participation is not mandatory but it is sad when no one answers her questions and she just waits. If you need easy credits this is the class for you.
Psych 202 is one of the easiest classes you'll take. No one goes to lectures and the ones who do don't pay attention. She clearly doesn't care about the class and would rather be somewhere else, so don't expect to learn much or be engaged. At least it's a free A.
Professor Moloney makes this intro class the easiest it can be: 3 exams that are non-cumulative, open note, and take home. There's 2 participation discussion boards and 2 COLL papers, and that's it. You do not have to go to this class to do well, but keep up with the slides and the textbook (which is free online). Good choice for COLL 200 CSI
Prof. Moloney is easy to get along with and understand what she's teaching. Decent amount of homework to do well, but not a difficult class. She tried to use examples or ask the class for an example of a concept, which wasn't always helpful. Talk in groups often, which I did not find valuable. Still overall effective professor and friendly.
Prof Moloney is a great professor and this class was super easy. The content was super applicable to daily life, which made it more interesting. All of the assignments were easy and given with plenty of time to complete them. Overall, it's hard to not get an A in this class.
Genuinely the most painless class at W&M, and it fulfills the COLL 200 CSI requirement. Thank you, Prof. Moloney, for being our saving grace.
Easiest class I have taken yet, Test are open notes. Remember to use the textbook in addition to slides and you'll be fine. I did not attend any of the classes after the first day
Great class. Interesting content, professor is great about posting reminders for discussion posts on Blackboard or any assignment for that matter, you won't forget. Super manageable class, and low stress which fosters a better environment for people to actually decide if psych is something they want to major or minor in.
This class is super easy, was able to get a high grade without attending lecture as everything is open note. Content is interesting which makes it easy to learn on your own. Moloney is quick with emails and very kind.
The class was very easy, and although I went to lectures it was possible to just read the textbook and pass. All tests and quizzes were open notes, and other than those grades came from a few easy writing assignments. She did seem to be interested in the subject matter as well.
She was kind & had interesting/modern analogies/examples, but she made it clear that attending lecture wasn't necessary & just read off her slides in lecture. Didn't read the textbook and did fine; she threw in a few questions on tests about things she said in class though. Everything was open notes/textbook.
Loved her. Would definitely take another class with her.
Perfect class if you're looking for a COLL 200, CSI and an easy class to coast in. After the first week, less than half of the 290 people go and the people who do go just work on other things. She seems very sweet, though, and makes it clear that she's available to answer questions. All tests and quizzes are open-note/textbook.
Professor Moloney is a monotonous lecturer. However, I would highly recommend this class for pre-med students. All tests, quizzes, and assignments can be completed online. Many students never attend this class and still do well.
This class was ludicrously easy. You don't even have to show up to get an A. The content was also pretty interesting. I recommend this as a way to get the Coll 200 CSI out of the way.
Easiest A ever. Attendance not mandatory, every test is open note. Super easy free A. And if you're actually interested in psych -> she does have in person lectures.
so easy. like stupid easy. you have to write a few papers but so chill. Don't think she acc reads them. easiest class here. take for easy A. all tests/quizzes are open note/open internet just ChatGPT them lol. the first class is packed and then after that there are like 20 people who go to class out of 290.
Super Easy Class. You can use the textbook on the exams and most of the questions are based on it so thats nice. If you actually want to learn psych, I recommend going to class even though its not required and maybe 10% of people do.
Love her! She's social, and topics have pop culture references as examples! Super easy class, and informational! Should read the textbook just to stay on top of the material. Some response assignments, disc boards, & 4 open-note home exams (lowest dropped). Final is just a longer response assignment, and last week is extra credit! Take social psyc!
Easiest A at WM so far. If you care about psych, her lectures are good: she explains topics well. If you just want the credit (COLL 200, premed, etc), attendance isn't mandatory or necessary to earn an A+. You could take the online exams, jot some stuff down for the few essays, and forget about the rest of the class and get a 97% average.
Very easy, everything is open note.
This was one of the most unserious psych classes I have ever taken. So so so easy for an upper level psych class and we honestly spent half the time gossiping and talking about reality TV. We did learn some cool stuff about relationship science that was applicable to real life! Overall just a very silly, easy class.
So technically attendance isn't mandatory but there's participation checks that count towards your grade. She is very caring and understanding, gives extensions and takes assignments and hw late. Her exams are online and take home, there's also 3 short answer assignments and 2 media assignments(one is a presentation). definitely take her classes
Honestly, I didn't go to lecture all year and still did well in this class. Take for an easy A. Just don't forget about the SONA credits.
It's an easy class, you can't go wrong by choosing it.
Professor Moloney is a super sweet person. She's really easy to reach by email and makes all of her announcements and assignments super clear and easy to read. All the tests are online, open note, and there are writing assignments but those are also open note.
