Dr. Blosser is one of the best history teachers I have ever had. The only other one like him was my 8th grade history teacher. Dr. Blosser teaches 1013 section 05 US History. There are 4 books you have to buy for his class, and there is a lot of notetaking, but it is all worth it.
he is soooo hard and is not a good teacher..
Corny jokes but good teaching
He's a great teacher. You have to be willing to study hard for his exams though. There were a total of 3 exams when I had his class and he usually had study sessions for before each test. There is a lot of note taking also. You do have to read!
Dr. Blosser is extremely passionate about history and keeps your attention. He uses some of his own stories to sometimes take a break from the lectures. Overall, I really enjoyed the class
Funny and nice enough man but his upper level courses are difficult. It's a lot of work and wasn't really enjoyable.
Dr. Blosser's lectures are very entertaining and informative. However, he has very high expectations on papers and exams in his senior-level classes. The amount of reading is appropriate for an upper-level class. Unfortunately, I had to drop this class because I could not both keep up with the workload and hold the same number of hours at my job.
Dr. Blosser is a great professor as long as you keep in mind that he takes history seriously and expects you to do so too.
Very nice guy, but if you just need to get history out of the way and would like a decent grade, he's not your best pick. Covers a LOT of information for a freshman level survey, tests are completely essay format, and bless his heart - he tries to be witty and fun, but falls short. Challenging - good choice for history majors.
I loved Dr. Blosser. Granted, his courses aren't easy, but if you follow his instructions (and he's readily available to answer questions) and appreciate the knowledge he brings to the table, the class CAN be enjoyable. I, personally, loved it.
Professor Blosser is the finest teacher I have ever encountered. His mastery of the material is exceptional as is his ability to relate course materials to modern life. His jokes are witty; his lectures inspired; his course is so much fun that you often forget you are learning. His course has persuaded me to become a history major.
Dr. Blosser is an awesome professor. He makes history fun.
Dr. Blosser is an amazing teacher. He loves history and makes it interesting and enjoyable for his students.
This professor is FANTASTIC!
Dr. Blosser is a great teacher. He brings history to life.
An amazing teacher. He makes the past understandable and interesting.
dr. blosser is an awesome history teacher. i hated history before i took his class and love it now! he makes history interesting and easier to understand for those of you who aren't a history fan in the first place.
Awesome teacher. Hard and it's alot of work but enjoyable. He is a nice person but doesn't give much extra credit. Great and interesting lectures.
AMAZING CLASS! Dr. Blossor is a hitory professor that truly loves to share the knowledge of history with his students. Showing up for class, taking good notes, taking advantages of the studyguides and extracredits, and reading the required readings are the keys to GREAT SUCCESS in this class!
Definately difficult, you'll have to earn your grade, but EXCELLENT teacher. He loves the subject and really is willing to help. Provides essays and exact material that will be on tests...average of 6 essays per test you must know and he'll pick 2 out of the 6 on the test. As long as you study the material you'll be fine.
EXTREMELY HARD. Will make you work for the grade, LOTS of outside studying and readying.
Dr. Blosser is a fun professor. He is a really good teacher.
There must be a lot of suck ups around here. The one point of extra credit he offers on tests isn't worth the time it takes to write the answer. He jokes are corny. The tests are basically rewriting your notes you take during his lectures. Can he at least show a movie from time to time or some interesting pictures?
If you love yourself, or even just like yourself, do not put yourself through the torture that is Blosser.
Fantastic lecturer. Very helpful. Answers questions thoroughly. His teaching style is captivating, interesting, and really enjoyable. He loves history and teaching and it shows.
Amazing speaker. Makes the past come alive. A+++++ Professor
Easily the best teacher in the world.
Crystal clear expectations. Fantastic lectures. This class will make you want to change your major.
Boring, tells corny jokes, and lame powerpoints. The grade is just tests and quizzes. There are better and more interesting teachers here to take for your basic history class.
He loves history and it shows. You will love history too after taking his course. Great prof.
Excellent teacher. Obviously loves his field and it shows. VERY good speaker, lectures are extremely interesting. Really willing to help everyone succeed. Tends to forget that undergrads need to take multiple classes and assigns readings as if his was the only class. Talks too much about his age, comes off as insecure. Hot in a geeky way.
Amazing professor. Makes history fun. I highly recommend him.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dr. Blosser is actually a really fun teacher. He assigns a lot of work but always makes himself available if students need help. Very good teacher and I would definitely recommend him to others
You really have to work for your grade but I really recommend Dr. Blosser! He provides outlines for his lectures which are 100% relevant to the material. Surprisingly funny too!
Not an easy A by any means, but that's why I like him. He gives you a wealth of comprehensive information, but definitely expects you to use it.
Not easy, but worth it.
Dr. Blosser is an amazing proffesor! He radiates his love for history and sharing it with others. He a great lecturer and is always willing to help. Tells funny but corny jokes. He assigns a good amount of work, including: textbook quizzes, lecture quizzes, primary source quizzes ect. HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED.
Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT take for summer. I am sure his class is already hard but summer makes it even harder. Unless you are a history buff, you'll be putting yourself through a lot of work.
Best summer course ever. Professor is very helpful. Course is easy to navigate - very well organized. Dr. Blosser is a genius.
Tough class, lots of work... study hard. However, very interesting and you learn a lot.
I took his course over the summer and while it is a lot of reading and a lot of work, none of it is very hard. As long as you do the work, it's an easy A, the quizzes are pretty straight forward and the tests are not difficult. He was a very nice professor and really wanted you to do well.
Took his online Summer course, great clarity, interesting dude. A LOT of work, but can be knocked out quickly while still earning an A. Heavy text use, does pod-casts for lectures. Excellent online teacher, have yet to take a sit in course.
I took the internet course for History 1013. Although there was a lot of work, we could finish at our own pace within the time requirements. Navigating through his online class was very easy.
Amazing prof. Keeps your attention and makes history fun. Dude is really smart.
Okay, I have taken several classes with Dr. Blosser. I think he is a very intelligent man BUT he is not always realistic with his work load. I find him difficult to talk to personally and I think he is a little condescending. If you are not taking many classes you can handle his but if you are taking more than 12 then you need to reconsider.
I had him for both my histroy classes, he really makes you work for your grade but if you can find easier teachers, take them not him. I did learn a lot in his class and I did get an A but I had to really work hard for it. Class is kind of interesting.
Really cares about students. Makes learning the material fun.
Great teacher!! He has interesting lectures and he really cares. One of the best!!!
He is a terrible professor. Avoid him. He does not care for his students. He is an extremely tough grader and never responds to emails questioning the grade. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Easy summer class. teacher was very helpful. great course to take in the summer.
Good choice for summer. Quick, not too hard. Teacher helpful. Good online class only 2 meetings for tests.
Easy on-line class.
Dr. Blosser is all about Dr. Blosser. He loves to scare his students into dropping his class. He is unclear and is difficult to communicate with. Overall he is a tough professor but is a nice guy. I honestly would not recommend his classes.
I took this class online during a shortened summer semester. It is a lot of material to cover, but it's definitely doable, even for the typical procrastinator. Expect a high volume of easy online assignments and two very straightforward, in-person tests.
I don't understand how some don't enjoy Dr.Blosser's classes. Yes, they are demanding. He expects a lot out of students. But, if you do stay on top of your work and participate in class discussions you will be fine! I have taken 5 classes with Dr. Blosser so far and while the amount of reading is hard it is worth it overall. He is great!
Dr. Blosser is very passionate about his work and if you're active and show interest in his class he will help you out. The workload is a bit heavy but it's stuff that will help boost your grade. He's not an easy A, but he's a treat to have as a professor.
Blosser is the most inspiring professor I've ever had in my college experience. His passion is tangible and his enthusiasm is contagious. The workload is heavy and only includes 4 grades, essays.. so every put forth your best effort! He is extremely kind and willing to go out of his way to help his students. Highly recommended!
I love Dr. Blosser! He makes class very interesting and he demands your attention. The class is lecture and textbook centered, so you must buy all required readings or you'll fail the course. He has study session before midterms and finals and he is always in his office during office hours. If I could take him again, I definitely would!
very good instructor. i highly recommend him
Take him if you are a hist maj or have passion for subject. His LIFE revolves around subject matter; nothing else. Expects same level of dedication. If taking just to fulfill core, take someone else. Too much busy work for serious students of other majors. PreMed students' time wasted by his busy work assignments. Nice guy/timewaster for sciences.
Great professor. Highly recommend!
Dr. Blosser's History class is as easy as you want it to be. He gives amazing lectures and LOVES his job. You just have to be respectful and get your work done. He will meet you halfway if you do everything to do. Over all, an amazing professor all around. Very inspirational.
I wasn't a big fan of history at all! Until this class. Just by listening to Dr. Blosser's stories and wonders about history broadened my perspectives. That's how much he's really devoted to the love of history & dedicate towards his teachings. As long as you attend daily classes & a bit of reading, then you'll fall in love with hist too!
Blosser is the most passionate professor at TWU hands down. I'm not a history major, but he made me fall in love with his class. He's a major historian and he lights up when he talks about history. Get ready to read. He wants you to KNOW your history and not just the dates and names. I love him for it. He's an old fashioned, very well mannered man!
Dr. Blosser is a wonderful professor who loves history. My class had less than ten students, so there was no one to hide behind when it came time to discuss the reading for that day. We read 8 books as well as other supplemental readings. Eight 2-3 page analytical papers were assigned and the mid-term and final were between 6-12 pages long.
I was a dual credit student! This was easier than some of my high school classes. Study for the test because if you study once then you will be set. The review is just like the test! I really liked this class and he is so funny too!
If you want a teacher who loves his profession and is ready to teach, Dr. Blosser is your guy. He knows what he is talking about and it is clear through his lectures. Attendance is mandatory. If you go to class and listen, you will definitely pass.
I really appreciated Dr. Blosser's clarity in his expectations. Everything was clearly outlined in the syllabus. There was no point where I was confused as to what was expected of me. Be prepared to READ! His lectures are great... very straight forward and to the point. PAY ATTENTION TO NUMBERS (populations, percentages, etc)!
Blosser was a wonderful professor. Because I took his summer course, he assigned podcast lectures for the class to listen to and I found this to be a better alternative to reading a text book. There was quite a bit of reading to do, but all of the required texts were a pleasure to read.
This guy is amazing. This was a summer class so it was tough, but Professor Blosser was very clear and made his expectations known. The taped lectures were so helpful and quick feedback was appericated.
Very easy teacher especially since I took him online. Book and texts required since he quizzes you over those material. Do not be worried at all what so ever. No papers at all required. Quizzes are very easy as long as you listen to podcasts and read or have textbook to look up questions. Midterms are easy and pretty much same question from quizes
I took his online class and would definitely take again! I'm terrible at history and I hate reading, but if you can get past the reading then you will surely receive an easy A. I took his courses online so that also makes it possible to look up some answers. This class is definitely one of the best class I have taken.
Dr. Blosser is a great professor! He is passionate about history and loves to share it with his students. I took him for two semesters and it feels like it's the first time I actually learned history. Get ready to actually read and take good notes. We had weekly quizzes over the readings and lectures. What helped me was that I recorded his lectures
Here's the syllabus: Midterm Exam Final Exam 5 Primary source quizzes 14 Textbook quizzes 23 Lecture quizzes Frederick Douglass quiz Total: 43 + Midterm and final. This is for a 5 week class. In addition to the 43 quizzes you have to listen to podcasts and take quizzes on those too.
The course has the usual amount of reading and writing you would expect from a history class. Dr. Blosser expects strong writing skills, preparation, and class participation. Most informative and enjoyable class I've taken in college. Will definitely be taking every class he teaches.
Dr. Blosser is by far one of my most favorite Professors I've ever had. He captures your attention and you actually learn a lot in his class. He does make you have 4 books but they are 100% reasonably priced on chegg and not too long. You do have to take notes off of his lectures so you can't miss too many classes but his class is worth it.
Blosser makes you work for a good grade. You'll never not have work for his class every week. Has more than one book that you are required to read and has many quizzes both BB & in class. Don't skip or you'll lose credit. fairly aggressive about phones, will curse you out in class. be ready for personal stories. if you fall behind you you're doomed
Dr. Blosser is an amazing professor! I took him for both HIST 1013 and HIST 1023. He is sooooo passionate about history and his lectures are basically just story time. Although there are 4 textbooks, they all help build on his lectures. and make sure you don't get behind on readings because it is hard to catch up. You will not regret taking him!!!!
An amazing professor who cares about what he is teaching. He goes through everything you will need for your lecture quizzes. For both 1013 and 1023 we had four books but two of them were the same from one semester to another. If you struggle with history take his class and you shouldn't have any problem. His syllabus is very descriptive.
Hes a great professor but dont take him unless youre willing to work for the grade!! he gives a lot of homework and there is a lot of reading but he gives such great lectures!!! i love his teaching. i hope to take him again!
Definitely one of my favorite professors. In his lectures, he really puts an effort into making sure the information he's giving is interesting and clear. There are a lot of quizzes but they are easy if you actually do the reading and take notes during the lecture. I enjoyed his class a lot and highly recommend.
Blosser is an amazing teacher, but you will have to work for your grade. But it's not a bother because he makes the work interesting and making you want more.
If you have a chance to take this professor do it. i wouldnt say his class is an easy A but if you read the texbooks and take notes in class and do all the homework you will be good. the whole class is lectuing but he give outlines that you can print out and write your notes on during class. hes very funny and makes learning fun.
Dr. Blosser is a great professor who is passionate about history. Be prepared to read a lot since after every assigned reading there are online and in-class quizzes. His lectures are entertaining and is open to questions being asked. Don't use your phone during class unless it's to record the lecture, and no, he will not cuss you out of class!
Dr. Blosser is such a great professor. I really enjoyed his class. There is a lot of reading, so be prepared for that. Along with the readings, you have quizzes to test if you actually read them. This was an easy class, just do the readings and quizzes and you'll be fine!
Amazing professor. Taking him again next semester. A lot of reading, but nothing in his class is hard. As long as you study and read assigned chapters, you should get an A. Getting behind is not an option. He's a really nice guy; super considerate and funny. Midterm, final, online assignments and textbook quizzes + FredDoug quiz in class. show up!
Dr. Blosser is an amazing professor, I took him for history 1013 and 1023. His class is not hard but you will need to make sure you read especially for his in class quizzes. Midterm and Final are just matching terms. It is an easy A material wise, but just make sure you do all of the assignments because there are a lot, even though they are small.
Professor Blosser is an amazing professor, he is very passionate and you can clearly see it when he teaches. This class is a marathon, youll have online textbook quizzes, lecture quizzes, objects quizzes, primary source quizzes, and a quiz over a book hell assign for you to read. Seems a lot,but if you put in the work youll pass with an A
YASS PROF. BLOSSER SLAY. never actually talked to him because i took his online class, but from his lectures, i love him. that's all. wanna be his bestie but that's inappropriate for school :( anyway ur a cool dude mr blosser thx for getting me through this college class! woo!
The most amazing teacher! Do prepare to read a lot however the reading is fun and intriguing. Buy all the books he assigns because you need them all. He makes class so much fun and is so funny! There are a lot of quizzes however, I liked it because if you did bad on one thing it didn't kill your grade because he gives 2000 points throughout.
prof blosser is an absolute sweet heart and his lectures are NEVER boring! Take notes, read the chapters and its a guaranteed A. He's very fair!! One of the few amazing professors on campus
A great professor, I took his summer class and there was 40 assignments and although that sounds daunting; It really was not. Class was set up based on: 1. his podcasts quizzes , 2. textbook chapters quizzes, and 3. his final/midterm. Promise it is not bad, the material is VERY interesting, definitely take him for history!
Blosser is a great professor, he makes you stay so engaged in his lectures. He's always available during office hours. However, he did a lot of quizzes over three books which could be really stressful sometimes.
He's really in love with history and makes the lectures super interesting, and even has an outline for every lecture. He made my class get 4 textbooks and did quizzes over the chapters and different readings so it's a lot of reading. Midterm and Final are about readings and lectures, gives reviews though.
Dr. Blosser is the best Professor Ive had thus far. He finds a way to engage students and he provides funny commentary. He is very passionate about history. The review is the same thing you will see on the test. He also gives about 3 quizzes per textbook (which are 2) and a test on a book as well. I definitely recommend him!
So, he's an amazing teacher, honestly. That being said, he is very demanding with his work and reading load. We had two lectures, two lecture quizzes, a book report, and a midterm all due on the same day during a pandemic, and honestly, that was too much. Also, he WILL make you write a 2-3 page paper if you miss class, so don't ever miss. EVER.
Dr. Blosser is one of the best history professors at TWU. He is so sweet and caring, he wants you to succeed, and he is amazing. I have nothing bad to say about Dr. BLosser, I love him and try to take all his classes. He will give you a midterm/final exam study guide/ terms, he sticks to it and doesn't change anything, he will tell you if he does.
I've taken his class twice online. It's pretty easy to get a good grade, just don't wait until the very last minute to do all of your assignments. You also don't really hear much from him (if you're taking the class online).
He is very nice, he just talks and talks for his lectures but he makes them very entertaining and likes to get the class involved. He offers review days to help you get a better understanding on the topics and is just great at his job. There is a lot of reading but as long as you do it you will be fine.
Honestly, I enjoyed this class even though I disliked history. Dr. Blosser made the class very fun and interesting. While going through a lecture, he would bring in some of his personal experiences/stories which sometimes made the class laugh. I also liked how he kept the assignments very simple which really helped for the midterm and final.
He talks a lot, but it's worth listening to him talk he manages to make the class funny every time. What I liked about his class is the lecture outline he gave and the day-by-day breakdown of how you should probably study for the class. I followed his syllabus outline and had no problem. If you procrastinate it will be very hard to catch back up
Amazing professor
Dr. Blosser is an amazing history professor and a wonderful lecturer. The homework is somewhat self-paced so definitely get your planner out as soon as you get the syllabus. Don't fall behind as it's hard to catch up, but the lack of due dates will help out a lot.
Dr. Blosser is a great professor. He loves the subjects he teaches and really does care about his student's opinions. The class is mostly discussion based with a midterm and final. He gets disappointed if you don't do the readings, so do the readings!
I have taken multiple online, five-week courses. You can expect a large work load taking these courses at such a fast rate. However, Dr. Blosser's work load was more than any other professor I have had during a five-week course.
Blosser is a great lecturer and quizzes are easy if you pay attention to lectures. There is a good bit of reading but it is interesting and provides more context and perspectives to the lessons. His lectures are around 15-40 minutes, he also includes personal stories relating to the lessons which are very interesting. Great professor!
This was one of my favorite online classes. The first half of all the assignments / quizzes / midterm exam was due in the middle of the class then the rest was due at the end. If you listen to the lectures, follow along with the transcript and use the midterm / final exam word bank / study guide you will make a good grade.
Amazing professor! Very funny and keeps class entertained. I don't like History, but this professor made it very interesting. Also, you get to work at your own pace and I loved that. It can get hard if you don't keep up with assignments though.
Lecture quizzes made simple using lecture transcripts. Midterm and final exams with term bank.
He's a very good professor I didn't like his syllabus he had us spelling out every single word on a 100-question exam!!! he rewords everything & puts it in his own words that's funny! but overall I liked his class he taught me to never underestimate a class and plz watch lectures seriously if you wanna pass.
for his 5 week online course there was 23 lectures with a quiz after each one and 70 primary source readings with 4 quizes a midterm with 100 questions and you have 4 hours and the final is the same way. super easy class if you keep up with the work. he has a schedule that you can use to pace yourself. 10/10 take him. he's the best teacher ever.
Wonderful and considerate! I highly recommend him.
This class was easy only because me and my friends work together. His lectures are allot and he expect you to read so much in only a matter of a week. There is a lot of work but it is easy if you know people in the class.
Dr. Blosser is really nice and well mannered. There around about 2-3 assignments a week and there is opportunities for extra credit like movie nights. There is lots of materials to look over, 2 books, and 20-50 questions on quizzes/exams. It is an honors course I took so there is a research project at the end of the year.
The professor makes the class really engaging, with entertaining lectures and a clear study plan. Using unstuck AI along with the textbook and lectures helped me do well.
Professor Blosser was a good online professor. DO NOT get behind, or else it will be really difficult to get back on track; everything was at your own pace with only two due dates, one at the end of October and then the end of the semester. The assignments are super easy if you actually read.
He is very understanding that students are humans and things happen but missing class could cause some issues because his class is very lecture heavy and a good deal of reading is required. Overall the assignments are very easy and are open note, you shouldn't have any issues as long as you do the readings!
Professor Blosser is a great teacher; he makes the lectures very accessible and posts a podcast transcript and outline of each lecture. DO THE QUIZZES WITH EACH LECTURE. DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. Overall just don't use your phone in his class and respect him and you'll get a great experience.
All lectures have mandatory attendance, and the entire time, the professor is reading off pages he's written that are hard to write notes for, while his GA walks around and tells you to pay attention if you're on a different screen of your computer. He also hates phones or headphones and will personally call you out in front of class.
His class was super light to be honest. There was a lot of readings and all, but everything was open note, so if you don't know something, you can just check your notes. (I took this class as dual credit/enrollment over the summer for a 5 week course)
Professor Blosser has been the kindest professor I have ever had in my four years of college. His lectures are easy to understand, and he posts audio and transcripts of the lectures online after every class. He is extremely thoughtful and accommodating. The assignments were easy to handle and not too hard if you use your notes and do the readings.
take this class online! it was super easy and it's self paced! super clear on what is needed.
He is a wonderful person very funny and will always try to make the class fun and he understanding and will work with you if your falling behind or failing loved this class and highly recommend this professor.
Dr. Blosser's class was very intimidating at first because of all the reading in the syllabus, but if you keep up with the daily readings, you should do well in this class. Pay attention in lectures because notes are not published, but he does provide lecture guides!
Never really heard from the Prof, but the class was so easy. As long as you stay on top of it you will pass with flying colors. The material to study comes in multiple ways, podcast and transcript. It was all easy to make study guides out of and the work itself is not bad. Just DO NOT let yourself procrastinate it.
DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE A PRE-NURSING MAJOR! This class was my heaviest courseload. We read THREE books, regularly had textbook quizzes, and primary source quizzes. You will have to fight tooth and nail to take this class. Take online if you can, or switch to another professor. *ATTENDANCE IS GRADED*
