Dr G. was a great professor who better prepared all of his students for the long road ahead of them.

Dr. Garbini is really tough but he isn't superficial. He'll challenge you only to make sure you know the content and understand it a high level. Usually the assignments are harder in the homework you may not know how to do them solely from the lectures but that's only to make sure you know how much you can do on your own before asking for help.

Dr. G will make you work hard for your grade. Group projects are very important. Make sure to get into a good group. Do not wait until last minute. Important Labs and papers are crammed into the last weeks of the semester which makes it hard to time manage the class with others. A hard class because of the hours spend and hours lost of sleep.

Dr.G does make you work for your grade. He gives you assignments every week and by the last couple of weeks for have a lot on your plate for this class but its expected because he makes it clear at the beginning and throughout the semester that its going to be a lot of work for a 2 credit hour class.

Garbini is a professional teacher who knows what he is talking about. The assignments he gave out were not all that difficult, just very time consuming. The amount of time you put into homework will reflect the grade you receive. He is very strict about attendance, every three absences will drop you a letter grade. Make sure to attend, or you fail.

Dr.G is Great Teacher, if you ask me how was class goes it goes well, sometime the homework was messing you, but that's fine.

You only get what you work for and that is how he grades you. He helps you, if you need help and you can refer to his TA's He is tell what he wants and how to do it and if you need more clarification he or his TA are there he assistance. He is straight-froward teacher and get to the point which I like.

He was a fair teacher, that was not available outside of class. We relied on the Teachers Assistants for almost everything, and they were not always helpful. It was an eye opening course, and if the Teamwork throughout the field like it is with the group you may get, you may consider changing majors.

Dr. G is actually a really good instructor and has been my favorite instructor here at CPCC. So much so that I am even signed up to take engineering graphics and design with him next semester. He will make you work for your grade but as long as you do it, and do it well, you will get the grade.

Dr. G moved around too much, it wasn't a bad thing but my neck hurt following him around. He was energetic but had chicken scratch hand writing .

Was very enthusiastic when lecturing and answered any questions on assignments promptly and effectively. It gets a little dizzying to watch him lecture as he moves around the class a lot.

The class has a lot of homework, especially towards the end of the course. Dr. G is a good professor but teaches very fast pace, so if you do not like fast pace class do not take.

The level of detail required to succeed is mind numbing at times. This class will let you know if engineering is in your future or not.

Don't expect this to be your average 2 credit hour, easy class. He makes you work for you grade, but you will surely thank him for it. You will definitely learn useful skills that will transfer to the rest of your college career.

Fun class with a lot of homework that will make you think and be creative. I enjoyed this class. However, I did not enjoy the workload.

It is true that this class is challenging, and required much work , but remember you are trying to be an engineer. So, it does not matter who is your professor, you will have to work hard in this class. TA's are always there, and willing to help you. Therefore, If you need to take this class, do not consider all these negative comments .

His teaching is simple and quick. In the lectures he explains all the important knowledge and instructions needed. Try to complete all assignments and it will be an easy A.

Great lectures. Runs class off of student participation. Doesn't take shoulder shrugs for an answer. Be prepared to actually think and contribute a verse. Make use of your time in the fabrication lab. Don't leave assignments til the very end, stressful.

For a 2 credit course, a lot of work is thrown your way. Lectures help for the homework assignments, but not for the mid-term and final. Failing the final project also means failing the course, despite if you passed all the other assignments. This adds so much stress near the end especially with other finals.

Overall the course was pretty tough, but Dr. G wasn't a bad professor. The independent work that we had to do was just really hard.

Dr. G is a good instructor, if you know how to conduct yourself, and have a drive to learn. He will NOT, hold your hand through the assignments, so if you need to be babied, forget taking his class. However when it comes down to it, if you do the work, you will get the grade. Put forth effort and he will be accommodating and fair; that's that.

His class was very fun, but it isn't a class that you just take as an easy A. Impossible. You need to really put your time into this class or else there is no chance of you surviving period. Personality wise he is a fun professor to learn from and he answers questions that allows you loop holes for each assignment. This course is recommended.

Dr. Garbini is a no-nonsense kind of guy, he may be a bit tough, but he is willing to answer questions, and will not get mad if you point out an inconsistency in something he has said. His class is quite the challenge, and is not to be taken lightly. Courses like his should be your priority while you take them, as it can be intense.

although, this class was really tough and challenging, but I learned a lot during this semester. Dr. Garbini was honest and real from the beginning, he tells you what to really expect from this course. you need to put a lot of time and effort for this class in order to pass with a decent grade.

His class was very interesting and as the semester progressed the lectures got shorter. In the end the hardest parts were the projects because he wasn't very specific on how he wanted things done. Sometimes. Specifically for the research project.

Super fun, entertaining, and energetic. "do the work, you'll get a 100" is a statement that is used frequently and stuck with. Dr. G is incredibly punctual to class, be there ahead of time. Deadlines for assignments can be wishy washy sometimes.

Clean cut lectures, not enough in class practice time, plenty of lab time. Legitimate absences will be understood and he will work with you. TAs are hit or miss but are ample enough to help. Class is heavy set on lecture time so do not miss lectures. Dr. Garbini is ex termly straight forward

Dr. G, as you'll learn to call him, is definitely the best professor I have had. He knows why you are there and why he is there. Just do what he asks of you and you'll do fine. He is kind of aggressive at first, but you'll warm up to him. He can be quite funny too. I am taking him again next semester because I know I'll actually use what he teaches

I would say he's a good professor. Skipping class isn't something you want to mess with him. He gives a lot of homework and labs, but I feel he wants to make us prepared for real life engineering. Many people of this class dropped, so if you are willing to do a ton amount of labs and work hard, Dr Jacob. is a good choice!

Dr. Garbini is really gonna give it to your straight. If you come into his class floating in a bubble, he is gonna pop that bubble right quick. That's the beauty of Dr. Garbini: he's like a personal trainer that makes you hate him, but by the end you come out with a 6-pack in engineering knowledge. Incredibly understanding too if you have reasons.

If you email him and tell him your problems 1 or 2 days before hand he will work with you. He is personable and reasonable but you will work in his class. Use the TA's they are as valuable as gold in this class and keep him abreast of your situation.

Dr. G is super enthusiastic about the material in every lecture, so the lectures are always fun. He also can answer any question you could ever come up with as long as it has to do with the course material, so there isn't any confusion on any topic.

Dr. G is a good teacher, kinda funny, and makes you do work. He will not accept late work so don't try it, but if you notify him of difficulties before the last minute he is willing to work with you. Just don't procrastinate

Dr. G is strict but fair! He asks a lot of you but really wants you to succeed. Go into this class knowing that you're going to work for your grade (lots of assignment deadlines), but you will learn a lot. I highly recommend taking advantage of the BEACH (workshop) in the engineering building and talking to the TAs. Go to class!

Dr. G makes class exciting. Is very animated. A lot of work is expected outside of class time. But it is good stuff not redundant homework.

Dr. Garbini is a fast teacher and expects a lot. Some assignments do not have good direction. If you do your work and maintain interest throughout the semester, there should be no problem passing. Do not underestimate any assignment, it will likely take you longer than you think

Dr G. is firm but fair. You get out of the class what you put into it. He will not hold your hand, but will answer any questions that you have. You may have to ask him to slow down and repeat some things at times, and he will. Be respectful and he will be as well.

Dr. G. comes as harsh, and gives unreasonable amount of HW. in my experience I have found that what my be perceive as harshness is really the way the field of engineering, so he is just preparing you for what is to come. What appears as unreasonable amount of HW is just bad time management from students (the case with me)

Solid Professor, clear material but the pace is very fast so pay attention

EGR150 was the most challenging intro course I ever had. I appreciate Dr. G for challenging me.

He is a great teacher but needs to slow down in class. He gives you what you have to do and when you have to do it right away which I like.

The work load is very heavy and the lecture section is very minimal, going over the basics. Its a challenging course and it will get you ready for the degree.

Dr. G is the best professor I have ever had in CPCC. He is funny, his lectures are effective, easy to understand and very enjoyable. He gives accurate feedback and he has my full respect because he is awesome! He also likes Assassin's Creed, that is win-win to have such a professor!

Dr. G is the most blunt teacher at the school. He is very fair and honest and will help you in any way that he can. He moves quickly but if you pay attention and put in the effort his class is very easy.

Gives good feedback, inspirational, amazing lectures . I like his class because more innovative and new work and less in class and more in lab with new machines.

Garbini's feedback is fantastic! Some may find his lectures boring but I found them really interesting. If you don't find the lectures interesting then you should probably not go into engineering. The course is difficult but nothing impossible, Dr. G really just wants you to put your best foot forward and if you do he will give you the grade.

Dr. G is decent teacher overall. His class requires work in the lab outside of class time. He is not very accessible outside of class he refers you to the T.A.s rather than talking to him directly. He doesn't make your grades very easy to see but if you do the work you'll pass the class and the time in the lab is enjoyable.

Dr G is a good teacher. He clearly cares about his students, though his in-your-face style may be off-putting to some. I had fun in the class and would take again if I needed to.

As long as you do the work the correct way you should be ok during this class. While he does teach very fast he always asks if there are questions and doesn't leave you if you seem confused. Biggest problem with this class is that it is only on one day and there is a lot of information to retain throughout the weeks.

This professor really knows how to prepare you for 4 years university. His teaching methods are not for procrastinators.

Prof. Garbini is very helpful and will help you when asked. He doesn't suffocate you to get your job done , if you do it you do it; and if not it is your fault because he doesn't babysit.

Garbini gives you the information and methods to complete pretty much most of the work. It can be kind of brief, and maybe too simple. It isn't looked over repeatedly, so you're going to have to find a place to practice yourself, and speaking of yourself, self studying is KEY. He is a great teacher IF you can self study and learn and question him.

In order to pass this class, student's attendance is mandatory since a new topic is taught each week which lead to labs that are assigned for grades. Dr. Garbini and the TAs are very helpful with any questions any student may have.

Lectures can be rough at times. A lot of people do not enjoy him as a teacher but i understood his methods. He is trying to prepare for university/job. People talk fast and expect you to keep up. If you are not good at note taking, I do not recommend. Utilize the TA's. They can help on some of the little stuff.

Class is talked about like it is a generalized engineering overview but lecture is pointless. You might as well spend all the time for labs and just call it what it is, applying engineer fundamentalist on a small scale. Instructor did well despite and helped out during projects.

Dr. Garbini was a great teacher, with great lectures, he was always on time and making sure we were on time. Has a couple jokes up his sleeve and cares about his students, not just with their grades but also outside of class.

This course was to give us an idea of what engineering is all about and Dr. G did a good job with his method of teaching. Lectures were pretty quick but I felt that I learned very effectively. He tries to appeal to every learning style.

It's stated day one if you do the work you'll get an A not much else to say really the material isn't really hard to learn you just have a lot of things to learn and these things are spread out over a handful of different topics. If you took physics in high school you'll be learning a lot of the same things again. Not hard, just use your brain.

I feel like this class was very hard for a 2 credit class. A whole lot of homework. It seemed like 3 would have made more sense. Other than that I really enjoyed taking from Dr. Garbini.

He worries about you passing the class, he really cares about attendance and getting there on time. The class is an easy A if you do the work and if you show up to class. He doesnt accept ANY late work.

If you want to really get into engineer environment, take his class. He goes over lessons fast and not allow late works. You will expect to work with the TAs more than him.

Dr. G gives you opportunities to succeed. Actively pursue these opportunities with an honest effort, and you will do fine. Enjoy the class, try hard, and you'll do great. However, if you try to get by with minimal effort, your grade will be destroyed. Overall, Dr. G is a nice guy who knows his stuff and is passionate about engineering.

Dr. G is a great teacher that gives you everything you need to succeed and lets you figure out the rest. You have help and resources if you get stuck. Grades come in labs, but is really determined by the ONE test and group project (which is done fairly). I only wished that I could review test answers for what I got right/wrong.

Makes lectures entertaining and will answer all questions

The class was fast with lots of thought about what the engineering field is about and what are the challenges for future engineers in the future. The tests are long because it has two parts and requires concentration and time. The final work in the class is a group project in which a civil, mechanical , and electrical guy have to come together.

He's is a hilarious teacher which makes boring engineering concepts more interesting. There is only one thing that I wish he could have used in this class - that is textbook. I'm no good at taking notes so I didn't do a good job on the first part of the final exam. But, other than that, he is a great teacher!

Lectures were very interesting and made it easy to attend class. Instructor cares about the students and makes sure to learn everyone's name. Explains each assignment in detail. If you pay attention and make time for the class, you'll enjoy it and do well.

This class was a wonderful class in which I bettered my understanding of engineering. Dr. G taught consistently and let class out early in order to let us work on labs. This allowed me to get most work done in class. 10/10 recommend

Great teacher, he taught in a different way than other prof, so it was interesting and I liked it.

Dr. G is a very fun professor to have. Yeah, the class may be uptight but he will relax you with his fun and laughable personality. There wasn't much negatives to come out of it. But if you take him you better be prepared to work.

This is my second time taking EGR150 and Dr. G was by far a better instructor for me. He explains everything you need to know and will also provide help if needed. There are also plenty of TA's that you could ask for help

Mr. Garbini is truly a great professor. He tells you what to expect for the course and what it all entails. I would heed his warning to withdraw by the census date if you are not going to put more than the average effort you would normally in other classes. But overall, he's a respectable teacher to have. Also, make sure you get assistance by TA

Clear and precise on every assignment and lecture. All homework needs to be done by the due date. He does not take late work. Lectures go fast so is imperative to be in class on time. Procrastinating on this class could be a HUGE mistake. Dr. G will clarify every single question you have. He inspires you to get more involved in engineering.

He seemed to understand the material and was willing to give feedback when it was needed. Was considerate to my time and was understanding when it came scheduling.

Simple: If you don't show up for class and put in the work you're not going to get a good grade. If you put in the effort you don't have to be perfect. I learned more because as a class we were pushed to do new things and even though they may have been difficult at times, we didn't get punished for failing. If you're lazy then dont take this class.

You have to show up to class if you want to pass. Lectures are interesting and informative. He makes sure to cover every platform of engineering. Sort of intense personality imo. You will get the most out of taking his class compared to the other professors at this school. He is the department head for engineering so he is a good person to know.

if you work hard and do the work then you will get the grade you deserve. Being an engineer isn't easy and this class isn't easy either. you have to put in hard work to get the grade that you want. He isn't very straightforward but engineers are supposed to be creative and figure out there own way to a solution. Work hard and you will be fine

Lot's of "self guided" work, which suited my learning style. Prepares people for the type of learning that you will need to implement if you intend to continue on an engineering degree.

Have to be in class. There is no hope without being in class. Group projects are important but grades individually! Which is great. The load that is covered in class is transferred to homework for further implementation. Learned a lot. Became more concise.

Course seemed to take up a lot of time during the summer classes. Would not recommend taking this class in the summer with more than three other courses. Other than that the course was very doable and informative.

Not a very traditional class setting but enjoyable none the less.

Dr. Garbini's Intro to Engineering class, commonly known as the weed out class, did just that with only 1/3 of us staying on till the end. His project guides are very concise, follow it to the letter, and you will be graded highly. Those that found this class hard, ones who did not take advantage of the lab, or speak up and participate in class.

Dr. Garbini was very clear from the first day of class that if you put effort into the assignments and listened during lectures, you would pass the class with a good grade, and he held true to that promise. He is very strict that you must arrive precisely on time in order to receive full attendance credit, which is the way it should be.

Dr. Garbini might go off on tangents with his lectures but it all comes together at the end. EVERYTHING THAT IS SAID IN CLASS IS FAIR GAME ON THE FINAL/MIDTERM. If you skip you might as well drop the class. You get plenty of time to ask questions and to catch up if you miss class. There is no reason you should be getting anything lower than a C.

Dr. G was an excellent professor. He made it his priority to remember our names and knew them by the second week of class. At first, his lectures seemed very confusing but he just has a unique teaching style and it all came together in the end. He always gave his students an opportunity to ask questions and was always ready to answer them.

Overall Dr. Garbini challenged us by giving us assignments where we have to critically think and for us to express ourselves. The classes were hard but this is college and we have to ask for help when it comes to completing assignments.

Dr. Garbini is a great teacher. He kept classes extremely short, under an hour most of the time, doesn't ever get off topic, and is very respectful. He is extremely energetic so be prepared. He gave allot of outside the classroom work that takes up allot of time. If you do what is asked of you, you will get an A in his class.

Jacob Garbini did a great job explaining assignments and requirements. The fact that as future engineers we have to work ourselves to figure things out, I believe with Mr. Garbini encouraging us to keep studying to be better in our career choice makes him a great teacher and he cares.

Dr. Garbini is definitely better than most professors. He's a pretty standard grader, one issue is deadlines, he is very strict about them, and they are not always ideal, but they are definitely doable. If you want help he is happy to provide guidance but you have to ask first. He usually keeps project prompts short and sweet. Heavy Projects.

Dr. Garbini is an intentional teacher. You have to show intentionality if you want to perform well in his class. If you show you care he is always ready to provide assistance. Do NOT wait until the last minute to do assignments. The longer you wait to do an assignment the harder it becomes because you forget requirements and you run short on time.

Moves fast when it comes to notes. Hands on learning is great. There are many people ready to help (the TA's and Dr.G). If you want to be successful in this course then make sure you are always engaged: show up to class on time, ask questions in the class, be proactive.

Dr. G is very helpful outside of the classroom. He responds to emails in a timely manner. Even though in class he moves very fast and with him the answers will not be given to you on a silver platter. You will have to work for it. So, if you fail it's definitely because you just didn't try because he is more than willing to help.

10/10 would have teacher again.

I have taken Dr. Garbini 3 times now. I will start by saying there is no class that you will be able to slack off in and expect to get an A. You do have to put in the time and effort. To go along with this, he is very helpful with questions and concerns outside of class and truly seems to care about his students. I would 100% recommend him.

I don't get what people are talking about, calling him Dr. Garbini is a sign of respect and his class is easy if you FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, not that hard. He'll respond to an email almost immediately if there isn't an emergency to answer your questions. overall Dr. Garbini is an amazing engineering professor, you'll learn the important stuff have fun

Dr. Garbini is a brutally honest guy, but he inspired me to keep going. He is a amazing professor who answers back and helps you understand your mistakes. I could honestly say I'm glad he was my professor. I was at a honestly at a breaking point taking the class, but Dr. Garbini kept pushing me to be successful. Thanks Dr. Garbini.

For his online class he posted many 2-3 minute youtube videos that "taught" the week's material. I didn't love that, because I thought that there was always a little bit of information missing. However, Monday thru Friday, you could email him and he would respond in a timely manner with a very detailed answer. He was there to help if you sought it.

Dr Garbini is a great professor, very funny and well organized. Knows how to break down the hard stuff making us students learn easy.

Dr. Garbini is a really easy going person. The material and the course, in general, isn't too complicated. I feel like he gets straight to the point and that's that. He gives expectations and he follows through with them. He didn't have an unnecessary meetings every week and would just have short videos that he posted for students to watch.

Dr. Garbini was an excellent teacher and was happy to help with questions. The key to passing one of his classes is paying attention to details in the instructions.

Dr. Garbini, he is good and knows a lot about engineering but he expects his students to learn by themselves. Pros- Replies to emails, clarifies doubts. Cons- The whole class is on your own.

By far one of the hardest classes I've ever taken!!! You are the defining factor if you Pass/Fail, everything given to you is extremely vague which in turn requires you to use your "engineering judgement" as it is so crudely called. For an intro class, you were left to fend for yourself but overall just stay determined you can do it I promise!

This was an enjoyable class and a great introduction to engineering for me. The labs and SparkFun Invention Kit were informative and fun most of the time. Although, be prepared to study hard and teach yourself a little for the final exam.

Professor Garbini is an excellent teacher. Though due to covid taking place I feel their was a lack of enthusiasm to teach because it wasn't face-to-face teaching. The work is due weekly and as long as you get that in you'll pass.

Professor Garbini is really helpful and does not believe in textbooks. We used a hands-on kit where we could build things. The final project he had us do was so much fun, but a lot of work. He is a great teacher. He really has a gift!

Very independent learning, however he is happy to respond to questions and readily available (would respond within 24h during weekdays). His content I must say is quite vague HOWEVER if you want to know more, you can just google it; independent working is an important skill for any engineer to learn, so I do not mind it much. Also, I liked the kit.

Fully independent class, I finished everything except for the final project in a couple weeks. The class is based off of the Sparkfun Kit, an Arduino breadboard kit, which is kind of cool.

Very independent learning. Literally no feedback other than your grade. Class feels harder than actually is. Very lenient with grading, I think if you just turn something in you get an A for it. Don't overthink it and you'll get an A. He basically gives you an A for putting a small amount of effort into your work. Solid class. easy A.

Read the instructions thoroughly and do not overthink the assignments! Dr. G. will guide you to the answer if you have questions but will not give it to you. Hardest part of this class is the beam analysis portion. Introduces you to how the FE exams are structured. He relates a lot of things to civil engineering.

I was almost reconsidering my major until I took his class. His lectures were very participation-heavy which helped the class learn the material.
