his lectures are easily the most engaging that I have ever experienced. He has a knowlege of the material that is unsurpassed by any other professor I've had before. He also answers questions very clearly and completly. He does expect a lot of work from you, and his exams are hard. But if you study and you know the material you will get an A.
He is great.. Hard in Grades but keeps a high level of discussions in class..He talks fast with a high-level vocabulary but makes History a lot more than what it appears to be.. Very recommended for those who are open-minded and willing to study! Taking notes is a must to get an A..
Great Professor! Great Lectures! Notes are a must for an A! Picky on grammer on papers. Studying is a must!
He expects a lot from you so make sure you have lots of time to read and that you are interested in the material he provides you with. He knows his stuff that's for sure and is really into it; he expects you to be into it as well. He is very clear and helpful - but he is not hot at all.
he is good, you could learn a lot from him, i like him and the way he teaches us. he is really concern whether we learn what he taught. we do have the class discussion but its not really funny -.-
He is a very interesting fellow. I think of him as a hybrid professor in the sense that he'll teach the material but his assignments are out of an English class. Very tough grader but I learned alot and thats cool.
so awesome. its impossible to fail his class, unless you dont go. hes funny and challenging. a little biased, at times, but open minded. take himmm.
Fairly easy class especially if you have prior knowledge. A good grade is easily achievable with a bit of effort. Despite the easiness it was very enjoyable and interesting. The professor is fairly left-minded but not in an extreme or preachy way at all. He tries hard to tie historical events to current events and show their correlation.
There is no better professor at BMCC. Textbook use is minimal so good note-taking is an absolute must. He is an extremely knowledgeable and engaging teacher. He places far more emphasis on significance rather than just memorizing dates which means you will actually learn something. His quizzes are open book and he gives you a study sheet for the e
This Professor is very Nice,he teaches very well is very well spoken & is very helpful... History was actually an adventure I learned so much with him. If you read & you your work then you will Pass & i wouldnt mind taking him again.
The class is just boring. The professor is good, very professional, but lectures are not interesting. He is sooo strict on attendance and lateness. On ur exam check ur grammar also. Overall there are 3 hard exams, 2 term papers, 3 quizes and 3 homeworks. Too much work for the one class.
He is a really good professor. he is understanding when it comes to his students..if u have a problem with the class or can't make a class he won't hold it against you. There is alot of work to be done, but if u study and take good notes u will get a good grade.
Kramer's cool. I liked his class alot.
I thought he was a good teacher. He does not stress to much importance on dates. he is an understanding person and shows compassion. I think he lets his opinion show a little bit to much as some might interpret it as fact but over all he is worth taking if your interested in history and as a bonus for him being so opinionated it encourages discuss
The worst professor I ever had. It's a waist of time taking his class.
HE IS A COOL PROFESSOR THAT DOESNT REALLY GIVE OUT HOMEWORK. JUST EXPECT TO WRITE A LOT, HE ALSO HOLDS INTERESTING CLASS DISCUSSION IF YOU ARE TAKING UP HIS AS A MAJOR HE'S THE TO GO TO!OH YEA HE IS BIG ON ARRIVING TO CLASS ON TIME
HE IS VERY EASY..VERY UNDERSTANDING, CLASS ITSELF WAS VERY BORING TO ME, BUT HE IS VERY AWSOME
Great professor and excellent person. He is a tough grader but he gives you chances to get an A. He takes his job seriously and fair. class might be boring some times, but history wasn't ever fun. Try to be in class on time and participate.
hes a good professor, tries to get students into the class, very strict about being on time and showing up. grading is fair and lets you know when a test or quiz is coming, and likes to hear students participate , so show up hand in everythingggg and speak up you'll walk out with an A
good teacher!! always show up on time!!
This class was actually interesting, going in I wasn't very excited about history. But he knows his stuff and he is down to earth, making class discussions fun. He is a very organized on time person. Punctuality is important! Take notes( very useful for h.w/tests) participate in class. Would def take his class again.
This professor is extremely strict on puntuality. So much that he would insult you in front of the whole classroom, its rediculous! He is not very understanding at all! Don't take him.
he is good professor a lot of reading, he gives 3 quizzes which are open notes worth six points. he gives an essay which he helps you do during the semester. the midterm and final are essay and knowing five defintion any five that you want
He is a good teacher. He gives open book quizzes, his midterm and final are also easy. He gives a term paper which I did overnight and scored an A on it. Overall I recommend his class to everyone. He keep class discussions going and also helps you understand the material better.
An easy A. All quizzes and exams were open-book; he even let you work in groups if you want. Some heavy reading at times - things like Rivethead and Jane Adams, but its not difficult. I had a writing intensive course for him, and he was lenient in grading essays. He is a also a friendly guy who'll never be angry to speak with you outside of class.
Easiest history class you can take. He does everything on powerpoint and puts it on blackboard which is great because you don't have to take notes. Just print them or view them on ipad while in class. Quizzes are open book except midterm and final. Paper is super easy, only like 3 pages. If you study and participate this is an easy A.
He is a fabulous professor; very intelligent, kind, funny. He holds intriguing class discussions that are never boring. Open book/notes group work and a midterm and final that he provides a study sheet for which includes all the questions, also an essay that isn't too difficult. Really great guy, I definitely recommend him!!
EASIEST HISTORY CLASS Ever. A Midterm, A Final, A Paper, 3 Homework Assignments = Doable. All Assignments Are Beyond Easy. Attendance is A Must
Took this as a writing intensive course. Had to write 3 four page papers as well as 2 handwritten journal response papers. Fair grader! No exams ... just writing. Show up on time to class, hand in your papers on time and put in some effort and you will do well! really nice guy and many interesting discussions!
I took Prof. Kramer this fall and this class was seriously the best. Its an easy pass people, he is a reasonable prof when it comes to giving out work. You get a Midterm and a FInal. Thats it with tests. He provides you with study guides as well . 3 hw assignments(Crazy Easy) and 1 paper assignment. Take Him!!!! You wont regret it. Cool dude.
Wonderful class. It's a writing intensive course. Other than that he's a great instructor. Enjoy the class, you'll love it!
I took his writing intensive course. Three four paged papers and two handwritten essays. Classroom discussions are usually interesting, and it turned out to be one of the best classes I've taken at BMCC. Professor Kramer is a cool guy!
Professor Kramer is an amazing professor. He will make you see things in a way you never did, he knows his material really good. Also he is a very reasonable professor. I took two classes with him and learned a lot from them. Has a clear grading criteria and is really fair with papers and exams.
Intelligent and well-mannered man. I enjoyed the class a lot. Explains the material very clearly. The other day's stories were not only applicable to the subject but also really interesting and meaningful, thanks a lot.
Nice professor. He'll remind you when an assignment will due before hand.
Professor Kramer is definitely one of the best professors in BMCC. His lectures were interesting and I learned a lot from him. He make me see history in a way that I never seen before. If you want to learn, this is the man for you I would definitely take his class again.
If you take his writing intense class, get ready to write 3 papers and plus two journal papers! And he gives a good feedback on your paper. Overall he is good professor- you learn a lot from him. One disadvantage about his lecture is that he spends discussing one question ONE HOUR, which is a waste of time and only 15 minutes on the topic general.
Very good professor there a go easy and very lenient he does that a lot I'm on one subject mostly it's the free riding and then Rushes the lecture but he is also a good professor at on the stand you yes the class is kind of boring but if you do your papers you got a journals and anything else you'll sure to pass the class
Professor Kramer, one of the best History professor. He's the only instructor I know to actually make one boring subject actually very interesting. In a way you never seen it. For this class (HIS 125), he rarely hands out exams. But you will be required to do 3 papers and 2 guided journals. If you do them, you're most likely going to pass.
He is an excellent professor. I'm not a big fan of history, but his lectures are very interesting. He makes jokes during class to try to wake the class up. He gave 3 easy homework assignments and 3 papers throughout the semester and 2 exams. I will say the class is fairly easy there is no need to fail
Professor Kramer is great! He is there for his students and he is clear when teaching. He cracks jokes in class and he is very respectful. I appreciated his sense of humor and the way that he went over material. The lecture is on a powerpoint that he made, so taking notes is easy. Be there on time, pay attention, & do the work and you'll pass!
the best prof of history i had, really easy to pass... Do your essay's and you ill pass. Really flexible with attendance. Take it he is the, best really funny too
Kramer is a nice professor, he is laways there for this students. Sometimes he talks to much about his view points but other than that, I recomend anyone to take him. He gives a lot of time between the assigments and takes later papers. He tries his best to pass students.
Great Professor! I took his HIS120 and HIS125 WI class. He makes class interesting and fun. Keep up with the required readings, take notes, and you will do just fine. He also enjoys discussing politics. Overall, easy and fair grader. Take him!
Great Professor.. He is really funny and engaging sometimes, he is a fair grader and gives lots of feedback when i comes to the essays.. Only gives a midterm and final they are both easy if you study.. Overall easy class ... Likes to joke around in class which is always a good thing... He is always up for learning from his students
Great professor! Always looked forward to class, had lots of laughs. He appreciates student's participation in class discussions so have a voice! Workload is not bad at all. Made history interesting and fun
No exams but 5 papers in total in semester. One chance to rewrite. History is boring but he makes it fun. Effort is the key to get an A in his class. It is not easy
Professor Kramer is an amazing professor made history fun , sometimes the class got very boring and he would crack a joke to wake up the class overall ill take him again the material needed to get an A in his class was very clear and i learned alot along the way
deff one of my fav history, but not gonna sugar coat him ,makes u work for the grade. course consisted of 1 paper that was broken down into 3 parts threw the semsester, few HW assignments that are easily done, mid term and final , study the review sheet that he gives u and you should be fine
he is an ok professor just do what you have to do and you will pass regarding the books rent them or borrow them do not buy them they are a waste of money because you only use them minimum of 5 times through the semester everything is on black board
This class had a lot of notes and some readings with groups which were kind of annoying but overall this class was great. the essays and exams weren't too over bearing and were self explanatory. Very responsive professor, always engaging his students in the class room! I would def take him again
I knew I would like him. Professor Kramer gave us interesting lectures by PowerPoint as we took notes. We also had to do 3 group projects. When it comes to midterms and finals, Professor Kramer turned the test into writing, not multiple choices. He chose to do it in some semesters, but once studied, writing is likely the beauty of passing the test.
Kramer talks most of all the class time with powerpoint which us the students have to write down. They help out a lot when it comes to the group work, make sure to do it because it does help for the Midterm and Final Exam. Show up, listen, write notes, and you'll pass.
i love this professor, i wish i could take him again
Great professor !!! Good grading criteria, Makes jokes and makes class enjoyable. I actually learned alot. Just show up to class, do the work, you will pass with a B or higher
He's a bit serious but he's great. Always willing to help. I Took him for HIS125 which was a writing intensive. There was 3 short papers and 2 short hand written papers. Gives you chances to pass. If you don't then it's your fault.
He is a good professor, he doesn't give exams, He just focuses on journal entries and his 3 papers. Hes very understanding if you talk to him.
Great professor! If you do your work on time and show up you will get a great grade. He is very understanding and will help you with the work if needed.
He's an insightful professor and very knowledgeable as well. He always understands if you have to give in a paper late. Just let him know the reason and he will give you a chance to give it in the next day. There were some reading assignments with group that are not that bad. His lectures and discussions are interesting. Take him! Won't regret it.
The professor really makes sure that the class understands the material. The lectures are outstanding and engaging! The professor makes sure to make the class engaging and I would definitely recommend this class!
Great professor. Just come in time, try to listen and take notes and you'll pass. If you put an effort you will get an A
If you can, please take Professor Kramer's class. He's one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Your only big assignments are the Final Paper which is more opinion based rather than factual, and the Final Exam which he prepares you for with the Midterm and multiple study guides throughout the semester. Also, he's very lenient on attendance, too.
History is not boring anymore with professor Kramer. His lectures are very interesting to listen to. One paper, midterm, final and three group works. Just get notes from his powerpoint presentation, it will help you for the midterm and final. Learn history with fun. This is an opportunity to learn American history, especially for foreign students.
Prof. Kramer is amazing. He made history lectures interesting and enjoyable with his presentations. I highly reccomend taking his class if you get the chance.
This professor is amazing! His lectures are not boring at all. They keep you intrigued the whole entire time. I suggest this professor to anyone who needs to take a history class. Really wish he taught sciences lol
Horrible, horrible handwriting, a lots of papers.
Currently finishing up the semester (Corona semester) Prof. Kramer has been extremely understanding, as he usually is, even before we were quarantined. Only 3 major papers which are doable. 2 other journal assignments which are less formal but still require writing. Allows revision for one of the papers (optional). Flexible and knows his stuff.
Im currently in professor Kramer's class & I have to say he is the most organized, straight forward & detailed professor ive ever had. Classes are online, his lectures, powerpoints, videos, etc are amazing! im actually learning all while enjoying it! Do the work, its not hard at all if you watch the videos, he provides you with everything you need
Jacob Kramer goes beyond for his students he is really engaging and breaks down what's expected from him throughout the semester. Discussion board assignments, easy quizzes,( creates a review sheet for every exam and quiz) most importantly essays are required to complete in order to receive your A! Work hard and you will pass it's no doubt. 10/10!
Hands down really amazing lectures, evident he likes and is interested by this subject, replies to emails and actually thoroughly explains his lectures in a concise, easy way to understand.
The class can be asynchronous but when he gives out lectures, he explains them clearly, I take my time to listen to him in the voice thread and it gives me a better understanding of a topic. At the end of the fall semester, he gives us a chance to improve our journal response to get a higher grade than the last one. Excellent teacher.
He made the best of an asynchronous class and was very clear with what the assignments were and exactly when everything was due. As a writing intensive, there was a fair amount of work so just stay on top of it, hes a very easy grader as long as you put in the effort required. He wants you to succeed! 10/10, would absolutely take again.
I really enjoyed this professor, he was an easy A and I would say prepare for medium to lost of homework, but they are pretty easy. He cares about his students and always is open to anything. He is a pretty straight foward grader and if you miss any homework beware of your grade dropping over all I would take this class again.
Professor Kramer is one of the best Professors I have ever taken. The class is super interesting, the textbook is easy and fun to read, the lectures are engaging, and the discussions are lively. Sometimes he had a hard time with other peoples opinions if he did not agree with them. But he cared so much for students and worked hard to help them.
A great professor! The class discussions were lively, the classwork helped me learn a lot about America's history, and the lectures were clear and coherent. I took an asynchronous class and Professor Kramer made it easy and efficient to follow and I never found myself in a rut with the assignments. Overall, I highly recommend taking him if you can!
Lectures VERY interesting and informative. Really make you want to be in class. Constantly cracking jokes. Gives basically a portfolio of assignments each week that are all the same format just with different content based on what you are learning. Very easy to get into a good rhythm. Only did 2 big assignment which were essays for midterm & final.
Professor Kramer made his lessons very clear and concise. He is a very nice and genuine professor who really puts in effort to engage students and make his lessons interesting and fun. You can tell he has a passion for teaching, I very rarely get sad to leave a class but his enthusiasm was infectious. I would 100% recommend to take his class.
A nice professor. He gives feedback to the class. The content of the class is resumed in slides of PowerPoint. He compares History with the reality that is happening in the actual world. The only defect that I noticed of him that he attacks a lot Republicans.
Professor Kramer is an amazing professor! Lectures are very entertaining and engaging. Homework assignments are easy and interesting.
Professor Kramer lectures are good, his assignments are easy to do, as long as you do your assignments without AI is fine with him, he does not like AI assignments. I would definitely take another History class with Professor Kramer. Attendance is mandatory as it counted as homework in my hybrid class.
He is the best. Just make sure to participate in weekly discussions and keep up with the course work. Procrastination is the thief of time.
Professor Kramer is an amazing professor. Although the class might seem like a lot of work at first, with good time management and balancing weekly assignments, you will pass. The lectures are informative, and you learn a lot about history. If you need a writing intensive course, I highly recommend taking Professor Kramer.
This asynchronous class was flexible, with decent lecture content. Clarity was mostly clear, but a few areas could be improved. Engagement was good, though there's room for more interactivity. The professor was very helpful, grading was generally fair, and pacing was perfect. Overall, it was a solid experience—8/10.
This is an intensive writing course with a lot of writing, which I expected. The professor is knowledgeable and supportive. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the heavy reading load, there's just soooooooo much to read. But I understand that it's necessary for studying history, and overall, it's a meaningful class.
Professor Kramer is one of the most supportive and flexible instructors I've had. He takes the time to understand each student's situation and is always willing to offer individual guidance. His feedback is thoughtful, and he creates a space where you feel heard and encouraged to grow. A great professor.
The work is straight forward, he grades assignments immediately, he has a good sense of humor.
I took Prof. Kramer on an async class. It was spaced very well which a weekly module. It was a writing intensive course so it consisted of three major essays, two writing journals alongside weekly discussions and the occasional paragraph response. He responds to emails very fast, and his feedback is great.
