Tests and lab exams are not that hard; if you studied like 2 weeks beforehand. Favors certain people in the class. Overall, a pretty hard teacher.
very difficult, not helpful teacher, he is not encouraging. He tells you from day one that you are going to fail his class, he has extremely low expectations for every one. very few students are left at the end, but it is very hard to get into. Be prepared to disect a cat,he won't let you out of it.
Very professional, very dedicated teacher. He knows his stuff and teaches it well. I can understand the other posts regarding the difficulty of the class, however, its the only way to learn such a science. He totally respects all the students. If you're serious about anatomy, take SAPIRO.
He is a horrible teacher. He plays favorites and has a huge ego.
Looking forward to this class initially- this teacher dislikes adult students-another instructor disappointed with his lot in life- shouldn't be teaching in my opinion- really creepy that this is what FCC has to offer-
great teacher/professor! very challenging and difficult. prepares you mentally for the rigors of working in medical field. i took his class for anatomy and physiology and i learned so much from him. he's a good source of accurate information and he writes very good letters of rec.
Dr. Sapiro uses intimidation as a weapon, especially in the beginning. He does have favorites. The content is lecture note based. This IS a difficult class; you will struggle during the semester. Not recommended for nursing students. You will learn a great deal if you're able to survive the semester. Dedication is a must for success.
I took the class in Spring, decided to take physiology at GW in the summer. He told me that I was going to fail phys....I got an A...Take that Sapiro!
Huge ego, thought he was God.
He is a hard teacher. There is no getting around that. Be he is helpful if you go to him. He is honest and doesnt sugar coat things. He is a college professor, not a high school teacher. He makes you work for your grade. I have never learned more from any other teacher. Those who bad mouth him are probably the ones who didn't take his class serious. Of course he wont like you if you dont try. As long as he sees you try, he will respect you. Don't take class for an easy A.
Mr. sapiro gives terrible lectures and it is very hard to follow him while you take notes in his class.
I was disgusted by his usge of initmidation. He's dealing with kids and confedences just forming. He could crush a persons dreams. I survived him (B), but did not feel he was a positive influence for my future career in nursing. I felt he thinks Jr. College is beneath him and trys to prove he is as hard as any university.
Took this class when Levine was on leave (big mistake)- Sapiro is the least gifted of all the science instructors. He intimadates "all" students-. If one cannot figure out what Sapiro wants (mindread?) they can always work at Mcdonalds.i think he just didn't know how to teach the curriculum. Time will tell if what goes around comes around~
...this teacher is on a power trip..."as you can see, I'm well-qualified for this position" He will always ask if there are any questions, but half the time you'll get: "oh, we went over that last time" (like he wont even spell a word for a student) He expects alot out of you...very intimidating and discouraging :/ ...self motivation required
Very hard class. You need to take VERY good notes and read the text as well. Don't miss any lectures or you'll be lost!! He does seem very intimidating, and does not answer your question if he already went over it. Take this class at any other community college if you can!!

Professor Sapiro not the friendliest person but he teaches a very challenging subject. Record the lectures and LISTEN to them afterward! His tests are lecture-based so you don't really need to read the book if you take very good notes.Make sure you ask questions when something is unclear even if he's intimidating; you'll be glad you did.
I took him for both human ant & physio. Trust me, the classes are hard. You dont need to buy the books. His tests will be from lectures so buy a tape recorder and color pencils bcuz there will be lots of drawings. He is tough, but let be frankly, i dont want to be in the hospital some day where my nurse will be like...uhm..what the heck is this?!!!
Dr. Sapiro is very intimidating the first month of class. He wants to know you are there to work and that you will take it seriously. You need to make sure you study along the way and not cram at the last minute. Record the lectures, and take good notes. His tests are based on the lecture so your book is only for clarification. Stay focused and you
HORRIBLE!Took his class a couple yrs ago. When I asked for help/ clarification he DECLINED TO HELP. Rather, he told me that I should reconsider being a nurse (I was already an LVN). Not helpful. Reconsider teaching, perhaps? Other helpful/considerate teachers out there. We're there to LEARN (and to be TAUGHT to), not to be talked down upon.
He is very hard, but very clear. Book only useful for lab pictures. Invest in a digital tape recorder you will need it. Ask him questions he great about getting back to e-mails. Has very tricky lab exam questions. If he says it, its important. You should record lab too. No time too cram, b/c lab/lecture exam are too close together.
Dr. Sapiro has no business being a teacher! He is truly a terrible instructor. He has not mastered the art of teaching this most fasinating subject. He is highly confusing and unorganized in his methodolgy. I deserved my highly earned "B" but he certainly in my mind earned a "D." Do not recommend--take in another college if must. Luckily he ha
Great teacher but extremely hard. he teaches the material very well and is straight to the point on what you need to know. he is very intimidating but once the class gets sorted out on who stays and who doesnt he eases up.
Anatomy is a tough subject, so the class should be tough. If you take good notes you do not need to read a word in the book, though you need to use the pictures to associate parts and names for lab. I highly recommend Sapiro if you're interested in the subject.
3 THINGS: Rewrite your notes from your tapes of his lectures, Do practice essays. Show up to as many extra labs as possible! Dr. Sapiro is very intimidating at first but, as he sees your commitment and determination in class he eases up and is very helpful. If you can't deal with him you won't be able to deal with doctors and surgeons as a nurse
VERY HARD.....But I'll say this, he prepared me VERY well for the nursing program. I'm one of the better students in teh program because of him! Thanks Sapiro!
He comes off really intimidating in the first few weeks. Invest in a tape recorder for his lectures. Study everyday (lectures notes, textbook), take advantage of the lab, if you're unsure about something ask him and he'll explain it. You really have to work your butt off in his class, but you walk away remembering a lot. Great teacher.
You will need dedication and time management skills. I was scared of him at first, now I go see him just to talk. He knows A LOT and so will you when you leave. He may not have the best teaching skills but I am very grateful to have learned from him. FC has the best, most rigorous science program, take advantage of it! Lots of notes and essays!
Worst teacher ever, period. Yes, he may know his stuff, he should as he has been teaching the same material for a million years. He is a horrible teacher and makes assumptions about you ,that will follow you through out the semester, that are based on one stupid quiz the first week of class. Does not grade fairly on essay questions.
You can get an A if you study. My issue was his contradictions of himself and textbook and if you go ask him he will either treat you like you are stupid and will never admit he was wrong. I got an A, but warning: he's not a great prof, but his tests expect you to make amazing connections as if he is the taught like greatest teacher in the world.
dislike him PERIOD!very discouraging and DEFINITELY plays favorites. He has a huge ego like others have said, and contradicts himself quite often. Doesn't grade the essay questions fairly either!Avoid taking him unless you like to wear low cut shirts, because he definitely likes to stare.
dr.sapiro is a very challenging teacher and requires commitment and hours/day of studies.if u can make it though the class you will be well prepared. cannot miss a day or your screwed!he is an excellent teacher.
dr.sapiro is a very challenging teacher and requires commitment and hours/day of studies.if u can make it though the class you will be well prepared. cannot miss a day or your screwed!he is an excellent teacher.
Hard as hell!!!Dr. Sapiro is ruthless...but we are all heading into the medical field, so what do you expect?! only use the book as a reference. record lectures and ask questions. he is great on returning emails. dont miss class or youll regret it. he really is intimidating but he softens up towards then end and sees your determination!
He should not be teaching because it seems he gets off on making students feel miserable. It's sad when people tae a position of autority an use it to boost their own ego. He acts like his word is God and doesn't think enough of the book to even use it. You have to buy his manual. Not very nice, friendly, or helpful.
Dr. Saprio is by far the best professor i have taken. He is a walking textbook. Record his lectures and rewrite them down again and you will recieve an A. Study everyday and apply what you learned. One must not be lazy, after this course you will learn the fundamentals of true studying. Good luck, take him over the blaschke.
Sapiro is one tough cookie, however this man knows his stuff! Grades okay, but his exams are tricky. Had fun though in his class. Would def. recommend!:)
AWESOME teacher IF YOU LIKE CONCEPTS. if you love memorization then you'll die in his class. understand, apply, and explain. thats how you do good in his class.
Never again. Never ever again.
started out with more than 50 people and less than half in the end. Dr Sapiro was the best prof I had. You actually learn stuff and it stays with you. This class is not like psyc.101. You have to work your ass off to get a B. To get an A you need to disconnect yourself from society. He may seem scary but hes a cool guy. I got a B in the class.
If you are interested in the subject take it, you have to disappear from the world to pass the class. Its really fun though if you enjoy the subject.
This man has the most undeserved sense of self satisfaction. He believes that he is Gods gift to anatomy students and that his class is the most important course you can take at FJC. If you don't do well on a test he will usually call you up in front of the class and let you know how idiotic you are. You seriously have to KISS his ass to pass.
This class was extremely difficult. i took him as a freshmen and he laughed. i was the youngest in my class and the truth is you will have no life. you literally have to remember every single word he says and its a lot of material for just for lecture test. the labs are just as hard. just study and youll pass I DID!
It's bad enough that Cell Bio is already a difficult subject, but this bitter, cynical man makes the course near-impossible to deal with. If he's teaching Bio 272 again, do yourself a favor and TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR at another school or another time.
I'm studying for my second career in nursing so I've had a lot of teachers. Bad ones and good ones. He actually is a good teacher. A very good teacher. He explains the material well. Yeah I guess if you're an idiot, he doesn't bother with you. I got a A and I didn't work that hard. Just take good notes.
I'm not sure if the person before me was in Dr. Saprios class. I got an A and everyone else that actually made it to the end of this class worked really hard. He may come off as abrupt but he's an amazing teacher. If you don't want to work hard find a different career.
The material is hard, Dr. Sapiro's exams are esaay format so it's not easy like multiple choice. He's a better option than Baker. He's an excellent teacher, fair, upfront, he's from New York and it's just his style, but if you get to know him he's a nice person. I studied a dozen hours for exams and still got a C. I recommend going to office hours
Had him for anatomy as well. Extremely helpful teacher; knows his stuff! He is very tough at first in anatomy but if you stick it out you won't be sorry. RECORD HIS LECTURES!!!! Never used the book in physiology. Study a little each day and you'll be fine.
PROS: Very challenging. You will learn the material. This professor knows anatomy inside and out however, take what he tells you about clinical terms with a grain of salt because I have had a nurse and doctor in the family tell me on more than one occasion that some of the clinical info he swears by was crap or maybe just out dated. I feel prepared
This is a tough course in general. If you're a nursing major and you haven't taken any science classes yet, take this course. Dr. Sapiro's class gives you a glimpse of nursing school. Not only do you learn anatomy, but you also learn the proper way to study. It doesn't get much harder after taking the class, but it doesn't get easier either.
This is a hard course but I feel very prepared for my nursing career. I learned the material not just memorized the book. Sapiro offers office hours and go to ALL early study sessions in lab. He stays the entire time and is available to ask questions as you are learning. Study about 2.5 hours a day and you will do fine.
Took him for Anatomy-- Lectures are fast-paced, fun, and he makes it interesting. However, it was a VERY difficult class, and you get back half of what you put into it... meaning you have to STUDY! Almost every student recorded the lecture, and brought laptops to type every word he said. He's very knowledgeable, and all around an amazing prof.
Don't need the textbook. Record the lectures. Understanding the material is more important than memorizing. It's not too hard. Prof is blunt but helpful if you ask intelligent questions. Tests were not too difficult. Just be very detailed in your essays. I learned a lot!
Brilliant professor, but take this class elsewhere. His exams ask tertiary questions regarding minute details. Lab exams are also very tricky. People who received an A in the class weren't taking any other classes. You'll end up spending 5x more time than other anatomy students; not worth it. You've been warned.
He definitely challenged me to study more than anything. Because of this class, I hardly was able to focus on my other 3 classes--This class took most of my time. Record lectures. Textbook isn't needed. Good luck
He is super blunt, but super helpful as long as you ask for it. RECORD LECTURES. Tests are about whether you are able to understand the concepts and connect them. They are very tricky so make sure you not only study, but study effectively. Lab tests are straightforward, but not, if you think too much. Dont take the class is you dont have the time.
Dr. Sapiro is best professor I ever had in my entire life! I took both ANAT 231 & 240 with him and learned so much! His classes are tough & challenging but when you're done with them, you'll be happy that you took his classes b/c you'll be so much smarter! :D
honestly... this class is easy compared to nursing school. If you cant handle this class good luck in nursing school. This class is so easy compared to actually nursing courses. If you think this class is hard.... good luck...
Wonderful man! So delightful and helpful! He loves anatomy and physio and he really wants his students to learn! Record the lectures and don't miss any sessions. He says he's "psychic and knows what [we] didn't study." And it seems true! Take him! He's great!
At first, Sapiro is very intimidating but he grows on you like a fungus. He gives no homework, but beware your grade will be based on lecture and lab exams. Recording his lectures is a must! This class is a lot of memorizing and understanding. You DEFINITELY need to put time into this class. Those who had A's only had this class to worry about.
Do not take this class in the summer. He teaches this class the same in the summer as he does during a regular semester. Too much material in too short a time period to get a good grade. Take a different section if possible. Many students were taking his class for a second time b/c they didn't get a good grade the first time. You have been warned.
Dr. Sapiro truly cares about his students learning. So if you aren't ready to put in the time and effort to actually learn the content, you shouldn't take his class. I was warned that this class would be tough, and it was. But I enjoyed the challenge and learned SO MUCH. Dr. Sapiro is a great and challenging professor.
My all time favorite professor! He is definitely difficult and makes you work very hard for that A or B. Extremely helpful and very dedicated to his students' success. Thought the class was tough, yet I looked forward to every class meeting. Very fun class, just remember, if you do take it, be prepared to put in hours and hours of studying!
Attend the review session! Get a study group! Record lectures! Do not procrastinate. This class is not easy, but if you really put in the work then it's totally manageable. Prof. Sapiro might seem intimidating at first, but he actually cares especially to those students who show effort and dedication to the class. ASK questions!
I just don't like his style of teaching. He just throws all this information at you and expects you to study it 247. It's difficult when you have other classes and a job. His class just isn't manageable, atleast not with other classes. If I had a do over, I'd take this class elsewhere.
Most of these other reviews are very true. Sapiro comes off as a hard head at first but its a technique to scare the class, he wants to weed out the students that should not be there. You have to review all your notes, detail by detail. If you reviewstudy everyday, you will get an A. Anatomy itself is not an easy subject, but Sapiro does his best.
He is tough, but must admit he is a great professor and knows the subject very well. Put in 110% and an A is achievable.
very methodical approach to lecture. he's clear in what he wants from you: just studyknow everything & regurgitate it back on the exams. RECORD lectures! I took this class over summer and worked like a horse. I recommend taking it over the regular semester.
I want to say that I didn't do well in the class. I got a D,but that was all me. I'm now taking this class in the school I transfered to and I miss Sapiro. Sapiro may be a hard-ass, but he is a phenomenal teacher in a sense that this class is for AVID LEARNERS. If you want the best introduction to your medical profession well... #TeamSapiro.
Very difficult class. A lot of exams,i took him for anatomy with lab and it's like having two separate classes in one. More than half of the students dropped, he is a difficult grader and very discouraging/rude. It is possible to pass if you spend most of your time studying and stay for the reviews which are on your time.
anyone that says you can't take other classes while in Dr Sapiro's anatomy class is just lazy. You just have to study&manage your time. I took a full load, got married, had 2 part time jobs,&still passed the class. He is very clear on what he expects, his test are straight forward, expect to work hard, and find a solid study group!#teamSapiro
I wish I took him for anatomy. He's great. Record the lectures and listen to them. He says what he wants you to know so know it and that's it. If you don't have time to study then don't take this class at all really.
GREAT PROF. HARD CLASS BUT DOABLE. It is possible to take his class with another science class!
Hardest class I have ever taken! However, he does care about his students, trains you well for any health career programs, teaches you how to really study. Only EC was given in exams. Recording lectures can help. Try not to fall behind bc you WILL miss a lot of material. Its possible to pass w an A but only if you really work for it.
If you want an "easy A", take anatomy at Cypress College or somewhere else. If you really want to know your stuff take him. If you want an A in this class, you just have to put in the work. Record his lectures, re-write your notes, and memorize concepts. Study lecture and you'll be "OK" at lab. Be DETAIL ORIENTATED. Hard class, but rewarding. GLHF.
Took him for ANAT and PHYS. Lots of material. You can't just study by memorizing. You have to UNDERSTAND the material, and link it all together. Record his lectures!!! Write everything down, word for word. Study groups are bad, they hold you back. I got an A in both classes. You have to be dedicated. You will feel smart as fuuu when you're done.
Will make sure you know what you need to know. This is not the class for an easy-A. Be prepared to laugh at the same anatomy-related jokes all semester.
Hardest class I've ever had, but most rewarding class I've ever had. I learned more from him than any other professor. Not an easy A!! You have to work for it. Pretty straight forward about what will be on the tests. No homework but lots of studying. Make time for this class and you will pass. And record ALL lectures/lab lectures
Hard class but he's a good teacher. You can get an A if you pay attention in class and study your notes especially his drawings.
Dr. Sapiro is a great professor without a doubt. If you decide to take Anatomy be prepared to study Mon-Sun at least a few hours a day. There is no Hw, quizzes and exams. I started out slow in the class trying to figure out my methods of studying. I was able to pass the class none the less. Make sure to record his lectures!!
You can literally never keep up. You cannot take this course with other classes unless you just want to get a C which is extremely difficult to achieve. He will proudly let you know that 50% of the students drop his class. He is an extremely harsh grader. If you like bio take this class you will learn a lot but if you want a good grade skip it.
Horrible physiology professor. You have to go to class to regurgitate his lectures. He says things that are verifiably wrong, even going against the text so be careful when comparing your lecture notes. He tests on his version, not reality. Bloviates his political opinions in class and talks about medicine, getting most of it wrong. Beware.
I feel like I would have really enjoyed this class except I always felt a step (or more) behind. It was very stressful. Dr. Sapiro is an interesting man and he is open to asking questions so make sure to take advantage of that. My tape recorder saved me, because sometimes the lectures were so fast that I couldn't write fast enough to keep up.
If you want to know your stuff, take Sapiro. His classes were the most difficult classes I have ever had. There was a lot to digest and lectures were heavy. Tests were extremely tough, but he weeds out those who don't really want to be a nurse. I know I am ready for the nursing program. This class is hard work but worth it. Tip record the lectures
I can honestly say I worked the hardest I ever have for Saprios class. He taught me so much and prepared me for life as a nursing student. He gave me a solid foundation to build upon and I am grateful I had him. If you want an easy A, go elsewhere. But if you want to be prepared for nursing school, take him.
Most stressful and intense class I ever had. Dr. Sapiro knows his stuff, but it's ridiculous the amount of information he expects you to know. To do well you need to memorize everything from lecture, including drawings. It forced me to make good study habits. If you plan on going into the medical field, this is a good test to see if you can hang.
Dr. Sapiro is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's extremely knowledgeable in his field and really cares about his students. You really need to take the time to study outside of class as well as visit his office hours to stand a chance. I do guarantee that if you can pull an A or B in his classes, you can do well in nursing school.
I can honestly say that Dr. Sapiro was the best professor I have ever had. He doesn't beat around the bush and really prepares you for med school or other grad schools. It was his class, both Anatomy and Physiology, that I became a better student by developing and enhancing my studying skills. He is a great guy and very knowledgeable.
Dr. Shapiro is the best professor Ive ever had. He definitely makes you get serious with your studies, I highly recommend him. Also heres a tip. RECORD THE LECTURES!!! You will have a hard time passing if you dont. Also he doesnt go by the book for lecture. Solely focus on his words for lecture. The book helps out in lab. But nothing else
Dr Sapiro is an intelligent and knowledgeable man. I have learned so much taking this class. It was so difficult and lots of information. But necessary to have a good foundation for medical degrees. Record the lectures and study by relistening to them( sometimes more than once). Know everything inside out
The most straight up man youll ever meet. He is an intelligent man and is funny when he doesnt mean to be. Lectures are interesting. BUT youre just graded on tests and quizzes. He expects you to fail and will tell you the first day. He has no sympathy for you and your grade. Lectures are extremely hard. Good luck. Youre gonna need it
You will be informed the first day of class that most will drop(this is true). This class is not easy. Record the lectures and rewrite your notes. Take it serious the first day or your grade will suffer. If you need help, go to his office hours but be sure you have gone over material. He will help you! Be ready for a tough but interesting semester
This is the hardest class Ive ever taken in my life. If you want to pass this class, you need to get serious on the first day of class. Record every lectures and labs and rewrite everything after; if you have any questions, come to his office or email him. Only get a B but Im glad that I took his class cause he taught me to be better at study.
Horrible experience with this professor. Hes very arrogant and disrespectful. I would NEVER take any course from him again. If you have the chance look at professors at Cypress college. I know its limited prof. as all medical students must take. This profesor should be retired by now. Dropped by end of second week.
firstly HARDEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN! I know medical majors need this class but you have not studied as hard in your life as you will for this class, no matter your intelligence "level" you will need to review material everyday for several hours the rest of the semester. YOU WILL learn almost everything you need to know, but he is very hard on you
Took him few semesters back, but I just want to give an update. Theres a lot of things to study every day for this class, but if you can handle his class Im pretty sure youll do well moving forward. He made me a better student. Highly recommend taking Dr. Sapiro.
He does not make the class easy, the higher the mountain, the greater the sense of accomplishment when you reach the summit. His rigorous grading style forced me to study harder than I ever have. If you ever wonder if you have what it takes to handle STEM related graduate work, this is your chance to find out. Best professor I've ever had.
Amazing lectures. Incredible speaker and explains things well, if you don't understand- he goes out of his way to explain better. Tests are HARD-but easy if you actually understand the information backwards. Super helpful guy. The only flaw is that at times i felt like he was talking down to me, but all science prof do that. Covid semester.
He says if you dont take anatomy with him, youre not really taking anatomy. At times he made students feel dumb.. he would never post on canvas reminders, so if you didnt understand or missed information, youd be lost. Covid semester. Super hard grader. Props to those who finish his class.
This teacher is the absolute worst! He makes you feel very dumb. He thinks very high of himself. His tests are so heavy. All his tests are multiple choice and written. He doesn't help when it comes to tests. He has a student Aid that has to help us. He is unapproachable. I never met a rude teacher like him. I will never take his class ever again.
Never been so stressed in a class before. I would ask for help and he was no help at all. Makes you feel dumb. He lectures heavy. He tests heavy and they're multiple choice and essay questions. Makes the class super hard. Majority of the class drops and by the end only a handful make it. Don't recommend him.
He was the worst Professor I have ever had. Not only did he teach us stuff that was not on the test we would not teach us stuff then it would be on the test.
Study guide is provided for the exams, but what he puts on the study guide is not on the exam. He asks questions on the exam on topics he barely covered, while topics you spend entire lectures on are not on the exams. He is unapproachable. Wants you to participate but if you get the answer wrong he will make faces and rude comments.
Class is very difficult and super stressing
Tests were very difficult!
You will need to relearn how to study as this is a class like no other. Make sure you record ALL lectures, you will be tested on EVERY word. Be prepared to draw A LOT in lecture. He isn't the most organized lecturer and it will be a challenge. You will be solely graded by exams. If you don't master each concept, the next one won't make any sense.
hardest professor I have ever taken, if you are ready to have all your time for this class take it, besides that no, because with this class you will have no time for other things, and definitely forget about your social and personal life because there will be no time. His so clear since the first day of class. Good luck,
He is very lecture heavy, and you have to take notes of everything he mentions. It will be hard to write down everything so just record/voice memo every lecture. I have never had tests this difficult and had to study this hard to still get to the point of dropping.
Dr. Sapiro prepares you well for the next classes. His lectures are heavy and re-listening and re-taking notes is very important. I know I could have done better if English was my first language but he is very caring and patient and the drawings and essay explanation in the exam were my strongest points! He made me a better student!
Professor is very very tough. His lectures are clear and organized usually, but be prepared to memorize every little tidbit of information that comes out of his mouth. Even if he says something in passing, it is probably going to be on the test. Even if it sounds like a side note.... write it down! Textbook necessary for labs. Overall: doable.
Professor Sapiro was very passionate about both the material and the students. His lectures were always clear and he would review your drawings (for the exams) if you ask. He also recognizes those who put in the work (and trust me there is a lot of work to be done in this class). Don't fall behind, record lectures, and study. Would take again.
Almost no HW is given. Exams will always cover lecture & lab material. Book not needed if you do well learning lecture/lab material. Recording his classes is highly recommended! Lab report is dense but is due at end of semester. Study everything, even the smaller details! Ask questions! He sucks at responding to emails (he knows this lol)
Current Nursing student here! I took professor Sapiro a while back and only writing this review for the nursing students who are about to take physio. This class is not an easy A but it will prepare you for nursing school. The students in my cohort who didn't have a strong background in physio are the ones struggling to grasp basic material. GL
Long lectures with some pretty demanding topics. I wouldn't say it's as difficult as anatomy, but it does require you to put in just as much effort studying, if not more. He's good at what he does but he's not amazing. Despite all the errors he made grading, and contradictions during lecture, I learned a lot and I think he's a great professor.
His exams are very difficult, expect to write several paragraphs. If he tells you not to worry about certain exams like the final, worry about it. 32 students in the beginning,14 in the end. He is also very discouraging, most students avoided approaching him. No canvas and does chalk and board. He makes sense but sometimes contradicts himself.
Professor Sapiro's class is challenging, but engaging. His lectures are detailed and he provides helpful drawing practice. Consistently studying with resources like unstuck study can make the material more manageable.
This was probably the most difficult class I've taken in my life, but despite that this teacher was able to tone me sooo well. I landed over 100% in this class thanks to his guidance and some extra credit points. I am currently in nursing school and breezing through it because of the standard he's placed on me. This professor is the best.
If you skip class, don't record all the lectures, and don't start studying at least a week before exams, you won't pass. Hardest I've studied for a class but I felt like I learned a lot and feel prepared for physiology. No hw because there is a loooottt of info to study. MEMORIZE EVERY BIT OF INFO!!!
Despite his teaching this is the most difficult class I have taken, expects you to know everything after each lecture which is just not possible if your taking other classes or if this is your only one, Anatomy is hard despite this being my only class this semester covers lab and lecture together, no canvas only papered exams, make study groups fs.
For lectures, take a recording device, and prepare to take hours to write your notes outside of class. There's no homework, but that means your grade depends on quizzes and exams alone. Labs are where he takes attendance. I dropped because he was very rude in the way he spoke to me, and I rather take this course next semester than finish with him.
Say goodbye to your life while taking this course. No HW so your grade relies on exams which are extremely difficult. He's very picky on drawings and short essay answers and if you spell something wrong he won't give points.Very rude guy. Has a condescending tone when answering your questions. Makes him unapproachable. Avoid course at this school.
