Great professor exceptionally boring but overall he covers the material well
Overall, a great prof, though sometimes very dry.
Boring but the man can teach, i learned a lot in his class and it was easy
not very friendly but very methodical and calculated
slightly monotone when he teaches but teaches very well. Material is well layed out so it is not confusing.
Extremely hard homework, fairly easy midterm and final, and notes that are good but occasionally difficult to understand. Can be very boring and is in love with the overhead projector.
um yea...dats all i got to say
difficult homework. decent midterm and final. never smiles
No a bad prof, his test are 25 questions multiple choice and not too hard
-ve marking in exams results to a failing grade at times. He loves the damn projector. His accent gaurantees u sleep. HW is messed up cuz its hard. I never got above 15/50. Will never understand students needs.is Adament about his fu.cked up principles.DOnt Take him..

SAT style exams: overly cruel He wrote the book for the course so if you don't understand the material you do not have an external guide. Like everyone else said, monotone but thats ok. Its a hard course. Old homework would help.
he is a jack ass, and a terrible teacher.
This guy suxxxxxxxxxxx.. but the material he teaches is very important.. you learn more than other 251 professors
Boring, Monotone, Slide projector is used way too much, tough homeworks and somewhat easy exams is how one would describe Savir. He always looks angry. why? who knows. But he does know how to get the material across. The course isnt that hard...he just makes it seem hard. Choose him at own risk.
Long final! Also takes off points for guessing! Ended up with a lower grade than expected. Obtain old exams!
Worst. Will not change a grade when he is wrong, and I mean flat out wrong. Grades answers, not computation, but if none is shown he will take points off for that too. Tests are multiple choice, so he won't have to grade and you get no partial credit. Don't take him, unless he is the only section.
Multiple choice exams are hell if you make one mistake in the beginning and it's used in all the other problems. He's a decent teacher, but I think he fails to realize that students can make stupid mistakes that could easily be found with a check over. Notes are decent, but could be better.
stay awake and go to facilitaion!! if you pay attention in class and do the homework and take notes, you should pass no problem. DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. u never use it. just buy his book of notes. all multiple choice exams!! ok class. a little hard to follow sometimes.
F period Night class is a nightmare-boring. People play games on their laptop. He sounds like yelling and very impatient all the time. (As if a volcano gonna erupt) His TA is a tard, always hammer score from assignments, what a ****. He's hopeless. Peter the fac. willb your savior for this class.
Looking back, the class was not hard, but he does not teach the material well. Homeworks are extremely hard. Exams appear easy but are very hard and SAT style. If you have not had any experience with logic gates, do not take him. Good news is that he curves. Recitation saved my life.
well never take any class this is guy.You will sure fail this class. He just like F & D grades..
avoid for 251.
this guy loves to fail people...doesnt care about his students learning...he gets his rocks off by seeing his students struggle and suffer...highly recommend him...notttttt...ill never take him again...hate him...

This class was the only time I've seen anyone get a negative score on his exam. My friend got a -5 (a negative 5), on the multiple choice midterm. The funny thing is he was an A student but offset the answer sheet on the second question, and all good answers turned out bad. Sauvir wouldn't change his grade, even after hearing the explanation.

Can you believe this? After so much hard work and efforts, he gave me C. Love to fail people. Extremely hard grader.
stuck at faults!!! this guy sucks . he doesnt care about anybody. if u were dying and he could help... he wouldnt
Grades very fairly on exams, but they are still nearly impossible to do very well on. Will offer explanations and make time outside of class to ask a question, but other than that, it seems like he absolutely hates helping people. I have no idea how he determined our grades for the semester, but it was in no way fair.
his class is tough, but its a real challange in college you should have! study EVERYTHING! though others dont like him, i still like his seriousness in teaching!!!
I think his mind works in binary. I'd give you 100$ just to get this guy to laugh. Only plus side is he is clear(no accent unlike most professors at NJIT). No jokes in class. I give him that he is very knowledgeable about his subject but that is it. Test are multiple choice don't give accurate representation of material that you are learning. Ma
TO sum this class up in a few words: Hard homework, easy exams, crystal clear teaching, only buy his notes, dont buy textbook. He always lets us out early because he is that efficient. Overall, very knowledgeable, and great teaching style. I actually learned a LOT in this class. Tests are all 25 multiple choice, and there not hard.
Awesome notes. He's very robotic. So robotic that if you ask him a question, he gets angry a bit because you derailed him, and sometimes he doesn't even answer the question. But don't worry, he always answers the question unconsciously later on in the lecture. So I found that the best thing to do is just to shut up, and pay attention.
people dont look the other comments the people that wrote them they dont get out from their houses and they study every day without having life....... really hard prof.....his behavior doesnt help you to follow the course believe me you gonna regret the moment that you registered for him in the class...
He's a tough professor you never know what he's going to put on the test. Studying previous exams will help in this course.
Past exams helpful.Weekly homeworks; do them & u get 'A' coz the homeworks r actually tougher than his exams
If only all professors were this clear. He teaches off his overheads, and explains it crystal. Granted, the first part of the course you may struggle with HW, but it's OK because you will get full credit as long as you try. Try reading the textbook for this part of the semester for some insight.
OK, hes a tough guy. But his exams are actually pretty easy. He doesn't test you on extremely difficult material, only the basics. They are multiple choice and they are similar to previous exams. His final is nothing tricky, if you messed up on questions in the midterms, it'll be back on the final. His curve is not that good. Gave me B
Best professor ever. Knows how to teach even though he is a little fast, his TA's are very helpful and exam is not hard.
this professor is one of the best professors i have ever had in NJIT, he knows what hes talking about!his exams are soooo easy if you got old exams to look at. doesnt curve alot and class gets boring after the first exam. i recommend taking him :)
The one thing I noticed about college since I've been here is the stupid people who don't study, always blame the professor for their bad grades. If you want a professor who's gunna hold your hand and shake your di*k off after you pee, then don't pick this guy. If you're a responsible adult, take him, he's a good professor.
Great, professional teacher. DO THE HOMEWORKS, they are hard and you'll be tempted to copy but the exams are only easy if you do them.
Study from the homework and the practice quiz, and you can get an easy A. Don't be dumb and take his homework lightly, it will appear on the test.
If you do try, you will do good. I got the grade I deserved because I took the class as if it was nothing. Do the homework and listen in class. Even stay for recitation because the TAs are helpful.
DEDUCTS 5/100 PT PER WRONG ANSWER. Guessing discouraged. DO NOT TAKE HIM. HW helps, but he shows no patience for students, and assumes everyone guesses b/c they don't care. Told my class he's failing 1/2 of us. He curves Cs to the average -- good luck getting that. Most people take course >=2 times. I need a 2nd time (excl. withdraw)
Man what can I say, Avoid Him and save your GPA. exams are really hard. NO PARTIAL CREDIT or EXTRA credit... 25 MCQ , 2 exams and 1 final . weekly homework ( VERY HARD ). GUY doesnt laugh.
Tough professor. DO THE HOMEWORK and assume that everything from the given notes will be part of the test. Go to recitation, it will help a lot.
Not sure why everyone is complaining. He does take a lot of points for wrong answers and there is no partial credit however if you know what you doing (reason why you go to school) the right answer is obvious for the most part. Also go to class and take notes because his notes aren't very detailed.
The class is very difficult. Test are multiple choice, you have to know boolean algebra perfectly. Make a mistake getting the F function (which is alot of work) and you failed because all the questions are based on the F function. 2 points for correct answer and -1 for incorrect answer.
Hardest Professor I've had, do a lot of reading, practice hw and old tests, thats really the only way pass. Very tough grader, I was averaging an A but the final killed me, super tough.
DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK, and DO THE HOMEWORK! I know the answers are online but it really helps to understand the material. Lectures are boring and you're on your own. Quizzes and final exams are terribly formatted (25 MC, -5 for each wrong), but with the curve you can definitely get an A.
He only curves Cs, does not curve Bs or As, super touch class
He's good ECE professor so far and tends to motivate the students via advice. His lectures are very good, interesting, and learned a lot however his exams are very tricky. Unfortunately getting an A in his class will be extremely difficult because of his overall cruelty grading system. Do the homework and attend all lectures.
he's a tough professor. the content is easy, you really need to work on the homework and get some past exams to be super prepared. you have to prepare really well for his exams, not only studying but preparing kmaps, being able to redraw circuits, knowing your Boolean algebra, etc.
He is a amazing professor. His lectures are boring but if you pay attention then you will learn a lot from it. I knew all the material inside out, but I still ended up with a B. It's because his tests are BS. It is multiple choice for digital logic design class... WTF... He doesn't test you on the material he teaches at all. Get previous tests!!
Savir is a very serious no-nonsense guy. A lot of people underestimate his class and if you do that his exams will seem very unforgiving. If you study like your life depends on it, do your homework and attend lectures and pay attention this will be a very rewarding class. Savir is by no means the easiest but he's there to teach you.
Worst professor I ever had. His test grading system makes the tests way harder than it has to be. He doesn't tell you what to expect on the test because "if you do the hw, you'll pass with no problem". The hw doesn't really help much. The only way to pass is to study off of the old tests ALOT which I did and manage to pass. Avoid him at all costs
This guy really isn't bad. People make him out to be bad but he is pretty fair. Do the homeworks without copying the solutions online and you'll get an A, I copied so I got a B. He always ended class early for us which was great. He punishes you for guessing, but if you know the material you are set. If I gave it more effort I would've got an A
Savir is a serious guy, make sure you understand all the concepts from the notes and practice a lot in order to get good grades on tests. -5 for every wrong question on a 25 multiple choice. No one knows how his curving system works so make sure you study your butt off in order to pass. Study from many sources as his lectures do not help at all.
Doesnt teach material you must find teacher out of class to review
People complain about him but compared to the other professor you will actually learn. I got a B in the course and I could've easily gotten an A had I studied some more. Just put some effort in the course and it is not that hard. People are just lazy at this school
If you want to do well, it's important you practice everyday for his exams. And I mean every day. Boolean algebra,K maps, and binary seem like simple concepts, but you will not understand more difficult things unless you practice everyday. Find practice exams, and practice them EVERY DAY. He's a great guy, but you have to earn your grade. Study!!
Despite being an unengaging lecturer, he's one of the most credible professors since he has his own Wiki entry. Lectures are useless on their own without asking him questions or engaging in general. For assignments, practice every day and keep doing the hardest questions, as his exams are two levels above his HW and Quizzes. Stay consistent.
One of the worst professors at NJIT. Do not care about students at all he will not think twice before failing you. His homework is useless his exams are tough and HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH
His class is all lecture; his homework isn't related to the exams or lecture; and he only has 2 exams and a final so you are graded on 3 things and if you fail one of them you're screwed
Class is graded on 10 percent homework 25 for each exam and 40 percent for the final. If you mess up on one exam you are screwed but you can get around a B if you understand well. If people say you can get an A if you try they are lying only 1-2 people finish with an A per semester and you really have to know the stuff.
The exams administered are taken on Canvas; they are 25 multiple choice questions and the Professor has it formatted where you're not allowed to go back to a previous question to check over your work. The material is taught through his notes or slides. He does little to no example problems in class. There is a recitation for this course.
Awesome guy, but 90% of your grade relies on 3 exams. Hard class to do very well and would not recommend unless you already know the material SUPER well. He teaches the material good, but you have to do better than that.
IMPOSSIBLE TEACHER. he has his own slides for class and writes over them on the whiteboard before you can take down anything he says he erases it and moves on. 90% of grade dependent on exams.
He doesn't let us erase on our homework and will take off 30 points if he sees any marks on your paper and accuses you of cheating because he sees erase marks. The homework cannot be done on a front to back page. He does work on the board, but half of the time is standing in the way and rushes through the lessons.
His lectures are extremely boring, the exams are crazy hard, his final is 40% of your grade. The way he grades the homework doesn't even make any sense, he will deduct points for absolutely no reason. So never skip, focus in class, mark down whatever he writes on the board, and do as much work at home as you can.
First off, homework is nothing like exams so unless you're doing it for conceptual practice you end up wasting your time. Exams are out of a pool of questions and the level of difficulty you get is between Savir and God whom I assume he talks to daily since he's on the verge of meeting him. AVOID THIS MAN.
One of the worst professors I have ever had. He doesn't care about his students. Very difficult tests. Doesn't teach well.
One of WORST professors ever. I don't know how is he allowed to teach, his teaching is terrible, skips too many information. Extremely hard grading scale. Don't miss up any exam and study a lot on your own.
not much to say that hasn't already been said. the dude isn't a good teacher nor is the grading scheme fair.
Worst professor ever.
Easy class to get an A in, if you pay attention you'll pass easily. Don't listen to the other students, they're just lousy and can't study enough to get a A.
as many others have mentioned the grading scheme is completely unfair and graded by 3 exams on canvas lockdown browser. He will also assign Ludacris amount of Homework and not grade it.
Barely teaches anything in his lectures, just reading off of a power point. His voice is dreadful and annoying to listen to. Doesn't care whether you pass or fail. I missed the final exam due to neglegence for when it was taking place, he just said that's it you're screwed you have to retake the class. He's also ex-IDF. Nothing to like about him.
I think he gives himself ratings so he can keep his job and make $250K a year doing bare minimum. He reads off the power point. When other students ask questions on things he reads off the slides, his response is "THATS JUST HOW IT IS."
Biggest problem with Savir is that the 2 Quizzes are NOTHING like the Homework. Textbook is absolutely useless. Question pool is an RNG machine- you either get really easy questions or you get questions pulled from the collective suffering of mankind. Final was straightforward. You need a steadfast grasp of the fundamenal concepts or YOU WILL FAIL!
Never take him, he gives a lot of homework to the point were each homework used to take me a whole day to finish, and then he takes points off for no reason putting a comment on the hw "HOW?", or "EXPLAIN". Tests are hard and can't go over them after submitting to know what you got wrong. He doesn't care about any of his students.
Taking Savir should be considered a form of self harm. Unfair test ratios and terrible grading criteria make it extremely unfair and difficult to pass.
Don't even think about taking this class, Mr IDF commando here is not worth the time
Only has 30 minutes office hours a week, when i went to his office hours for the only one time he was so mad because he was watching some news on his phone and didn't want to waste his office hours talking to me. Worst grader ever, fails more than half of the class to make sure that he get enough students the semester after.
very good professor, i failed because i didnt study enough. this is my 3rd try with this professor, and now i know better
Professor Savir is one of the most helpful and caring professors in the department. His lectures are engaging and make learning enjoyable. While the class can be hard, the exams reflect the homework, so staying on top of assignments helps a lot. He also offers lenient office hours, making it easier to get support. I'd gladly take his class again!
Your grade in this class is determined by 90% are quizzes , which are on lockdown browser and are difficult. Savir is just an evil guy who reallly does not like his students.
You can't view what you got wrong on the quizzes. You can't go back to check your answers when taking the quiz. That's the worst part of his class. If you find past quizzes, look at the 2nd and 3rd quizzes. They're cullmitive and nor every question you may face is gonna be on your quiz Overall his lectures are ok. Homework is fair just long
Avoid Savir if you can. 90% of your grade is based on 75 questions. He failed me twice, delaying my major. No support, no flexibility, and no compassion. Understand core concepts well before the class. He will fail you without remorse.
Prof Savir is an okay lecturer, but the biggest problem among those who took his class is that the 2 "quizzes" (essentially midterm exams) are extremely unfair to students. Not only are they given little idea of how they are formatted, but they are MC questions with no backtracking. The questions are not representative of the homework and lectures.
Jacob Savir is a professor whose here to collect his check and enjoys making things as difficult as possible for you. The school is aware of the complaints but will do nothing. Good luck.
dont listen to these mfs bruh hes not as bad as the class seems. His final grading is lenient and fair. But ull need answers to the homeworks or get tutoring from IEEE if u wanna actually learn the concepts in class and pass because some things arent taught and are hard to come across by urself
Whatever you do don't take him.
Nightmare, this class was literally hell, lectures are the worst so most people don't show up. Reads of slides he made in 200 B.C. This professor literally hates his students and mostly likely wants us to fail, he doesn't care whether you understand or not, doesn't answer questions clearly. I'm sooo Glad I passed this class🙏.
