Gen Bio is a HARD class. She is very helpful,extra credit available every test. Doesn't use power points, writes/draws on the board. Very animated during lectures and keeps you interested. No way is this class an "easy A" but that is because of the material. I would take her again for any science class!!!!!!!

She is an awesome teacher! My interest in the material makes the class a lot easier for me than for most probably but I think her teaching style makes the hard material easy to understand. I would take her again any day! She gives extra credit on every quiz and test and is very fair.

Biology 1 is a very hard class but this teacher started everything off very well. Her lectures make sense and always answers your questions respectfully and specifically. Make sure you go to every lab but her reviews are great and her notes are perfect for passing the tests. Wonderful teacher! I would take her again any day! RECOMMENDED!!! Study!

Bio is not that hard of a class! Yes it is a lot of information, but she is an amazing teacher that makes sure you understand. NO POWER POINT!! She truly gives you every chance to get points. Even if you are not a great test taker, you can still make an A if you do your work!!

Professor Boyce is my absolute favorite science teacher I have ever had. Because of her, I have an A. Biology is a lot of work. It requires a lot of studying on your own. But Boyce makes things crystal clear with her lectures. Never miss class! If you're going into Bio YOU MUST TAKE HER! She's also really fair with grading!

This was my 2nd science class with her. Great teacher, doesn't use power points. Gives you an outline with all the info needed for tests. Tests are hard, so study a LOT. Gives generous extra credit. I was absent an exam day and the next day I came to class, she remembered and talked to me about my grade and told me I could still pass. Got a B.

LOVED PROFESSOR BOYCE!! She does not lecture from powerpoints and I didn't open the book once. Her outlines combined with good lecture notes are what you need to pass this class! Gives a great lecture and has a hand out that walks you through everything she goes over. You don't even need the book because she goes over only the important need to know information. As long as you study her hand out and take a few notes you should be able to pass the class easily. I'm still taking it however I am expecting an A or high B

Take her if you need micro or bio she is fantastic! I wish she taught more of the science classes, I would take her everytime. These classes are tough and require lots of study time but she has a great sense of humor and explains things well. Very approachable if you are having a problem with something.

She will catch your attention with her outgoing personality and will make you laugh. She teaches you what you NEED to know so you can do good on the test. There are quizzes almost every week but she only keeps the 5 highest scores. The quizzes are EXTREMELY helpful! She gives extra credit opportunities, study guides, and tips for how to do well!

One of the best professors at Seminole State. When you take biology, think about it as a full time job. Study her power points and great lab practical reviews. The matirial she gives is more than enough to pass tests and final. Do extra credit that she offers and study every day. Biology is tough, but Professor Boyce makes it easier. Good Luck

Absolute best professor! Micro is not easy but it's doable for sure. We are supposed to write down absolutely everything in lab so if you aren't you're going to have a problem. She's gives us every bit of info to succeed and helps in every way possible. Lab quizzes are only tough if you don't know what you're doing in lab. Doesn't teach 2093-_-

The hardest class ever. Half of the class has withdrawal. Her quizzes aren't even "quizzes" they're more like tests. I wouldn't recommend anyone to take her. She a nice professor but her class is just too hard.

Professor Boyce is an amazing professor and makes a hard subject very doable. She gives you the tools necessary to succeed and realay cares about your success. She provides you with the PowerPoint slides for lectures, gives review sheets and is there for you via office hours, after class and email. Would recommend if you need Microbiology :)

Even after 130 credit hours of professors, she's by far the best professor I've ever had. Yes it's a tough class, but she makes it easier with drawings and real life applications. She gives you review sheets and everything you possibly need to get an A or B. She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Wish I could take her again!!

She does give us a TON of quizzes forbthenlactures AND the lab, but she gives us everything she can to help us along. Bio is not easy and even though this class is hard she gives you everything you need to be successful YOU just have to be willing to do the work. She takes the time to explain everything in ways that everyone can understand even if it means dancing in front of the class. I waited up till midnight to register for her class, and the class was filled (35 seats) by 12:09 that same night. Let that speak for itself.

Micro is biology on steriods and is difficult. Prof. boyce gives you the materials you need for success in her class its up to you to do the leg work. shes very involved in labs and her lectures are always on point relevance. I feel like i did so well only because she made it so easy to learn. I wish she taught every subject! no exaggeration

This professor offers EXACTLY what you need to succeed in microbiology. She hand crafts very in depth review worksheets that are optional, she offers plenty of extra credit, she is passionate and dedicated to her very funny and interesting lectures and doing what ever it takes for you to understand. You need to dedicate yourself to this course.

Truly someone who lives and breathes her passion. Fantastic teacher who does everything in her power (even dances) in order for you to understand the course work. i took her for gen bio and micro. her lectures and work sheets in gen bio really prep you for the accumulative final. She lectures off her power points that have everything on there you need to know. no surprises. pay attention during lectures. she gives great detail and tests are straight forward. passed gen bio with a 96 and final with an 86

SHE GRADES HER TEST SO FAST. you literally have the test results either same day or the next day. clear cut power points/ work sheets and answers are given online. offers extra credit. she is funny and personable. follow class room instructions. no phone during lecture but phones out during lab. super hands on. tests you on what she gives you.

I took this class hearing it didn't have a high pass rate so I was a little nervous but Prof Boyce was energetic and she taught very well. I took biology before in high-school and didn't understand most of it but Boyce helped me understand the concepts so much more and I learned a lot of useful things. You also have to make effort since it's bio.

Micro is Not an easy subject to take; with that said Porf. boyce does an amazing job teaching such dense material. I did not need to open my text once because she literally teaches what you need to know for tests and quizzes in her lectures. She gives you excellent study guides for practicals and Exams. Professor Boyce was my favorite professor - this was the only class where I really enjoyed lecture and retained the information. Students make you fear taking microbio, but taking it with Boyce makes it very do-able if you study & make an effort. Exams are very detailed but she covers everything in her lectures, so write everything down.

Great professor! Like everyone says she made Microbiology fun and interesting to learn. Since it is a more difficult subject there was work involved, not an easy A. You don't need the textbook as she gives you ppts to study. I had friends with other professors and it seems Boyce has more extra credit and less projects. I would take again 100%!

A teacher who knows how to teach, very detailed, bring extra paper or print out powerpoints to take notes. Use her powerpoints for tests. Textbook is not necessary, you'll learn everything from her powerpoint, buy the access code to do homework. She uses Scranton for test, do the extra credit. MUST be on time. Got a B in the class.

Prof Boyce was only subbing for BSC1010, but I'm so glad she did. Her teaching is comprehensive, more so than the book. Show up, take notes, listen to her funny anecdotes and you will pass. I had a family emergency the first 2 weeks of class and her level of empathy and understanding also makes her an incredible teacher.

Shes really passionate about biology ! Goes over the lecture very well that I didnt have to use the text book. Gives really good reviews for lab practicals. There are four unit exams and a final , the final is optional not required ! I would definitely take her again shes amazing !

Professor Boyce is a great and very knowledgeable instructor. However the quizzes and tests is somewhat difficult. She gives you a study guide but it's misleading. 8 Quizzes. Drops the lowest quiz grade. 2 Lab Exams. Midterm and Final Exam. Gives extra credit where possible. Study hard to get the highest grade possible.

She is a very nice professor. Her lectures are very fun and she straight up tells you what you need to know for exam/quiz. Make sure you study and don't be late to class bc she gives quiz/exam at the beginning of class. Textbook is not necessary but we do have online mastering hw. I have taken her two times for bio and micro and for anyone who is complaining about her being hard, she isnt. This course is required for medical/nursing/health ect. as a current nursing student, all she did is prepare me for the rigor and content I am learning now. Study the powerpoints and take good notes and you will be golden.

Hybrid class, currently mid-sem. I have a high A (96%). 8 lab quizzes, 2 lab exams, 4 lecture exams. No textbook needed. Watch the lecture/lab vids + fill out unit/lab outline reviews, do the chapter worksheets, and do the HW & ExCred on time! Info can be a bit overwhelming, but she does a great job explaining what you NEED to know & she's funny!

Interesting lectures and uses good examples to help us remember things. Attending labs is important for your grade, so is doing the extra credit on time. Tests and quizzes are so easy if you review her videos and do the chapter worksheets. Still have to study, but she doesn't make the tests harder than they need to be. Didn't touch the txtbk at all

Prof Boyce is the best professor I've ever had at this college. Her class is TOUGH. Usually theres a quiz every week and then a test atleast every other week. She helps you well prepare for them, gives you hints about them when youre in lab and gives lots of extra credit by watching videos and on quizzes/tests. She always offers help in lab aswell.

1-2 chapters per week, online HW, weekly lab quiz, 3 unit exams+final, at least 10 hours a week of work. I took hybrid option, lecture videos were long but detailed and gave you info for test. Mandatory lab attendance. A 50 point project at end of semester. Gives 30 EC points. Do NOT buy textbook, tests off lectures. Overall great professor+class!

Exams are lecture based so you don't need to read the textbook. Her lectures are engaging and interesting. She is helpful during labs and gives extra credit opportunities. Overall easy A

Never done well in science but I got an A in BSC2010C and currently have an A in her microbio class, so take her. You HAVE TO apply yourself but she gives you every tool. Print out your ppt's to write on them, & record if you have to (she allows) bc it saves time from having to read. Study hard and ask questions, she's more than willing to help!

Boyce is passionate and loves to teach. Attendance is VITAL to her. She is not lenient about it. You're allowed 4 lab absences & after that she will remove you from class. Class is long/intense, but she is goofy and makes it fun. 4 exams, 2 lab practicals, lab/lecture quiz weekly, HW weekly. LOTS extra credit offered. Take class alone if possible.

She seemed a little stressed at the beginning of the year but apologized because it was her first time hosting all online classes. I do wish we had a second attempt on the homework, but if she notices everyone gets it wrong she will give points back. Study for quizzes and tests, lockdown browser. Overall had no problems, just a normal class.

This was Professor Boyce's first time doing an online class, so there were a few issues here and there, but she was fast to fix them.
