Not the hardest class, and much easier than wingraves. I would suggest you take her, lectures are paced a bit off at times but more often then not its easy to follow along. Don't bother taking notes during class, powerpoints are all uploaded and she doesn't give time at all to copy down information. Would reccomend for CHEM103/
Not a terribly difficult general chemistry class. Textbook was not required, and I didn't purchase it, turned out fine. Spends too much time on some topics, and not enough on others. However, she was very pleasant, and seemed willing to help. Would recommend for CHEM103.
She is not a great teacher, but it is an easy chem class. She did not finish all of the course material, was all over the place. Do a little online hw each week and review before the exam. Although she doesnt explain her powerpoints well, they are helpful to go over yourself. I got an A by studying the day before by just going over ppts, hw
Dr. Fajardo just started teaching at UD this year and she has a lot to learn about it. She is SO willing to help student in office hours, or literally WHENEVER you ask her to. She has fairly easy tests. her lectures are rough, but her supplemental lectures help! she is so kind!
Not organized. Nice lady but does not know how to teach
Very nice professor. Class can be boring, but she is clear and fair. Very helpful in office hours. Overall, if you do the assigned work and practice questions, the class is not bad.
Dr. Fajardo is so sweet. I love her! She made me appreciate chem a lot more and I like how she teaches. She is very dedicated. Study and a B will not be hard.
Does not know how to teach.
Attendance is not mandatory but random iclicker usage. She is one of the easiest chem teachers. you want her over anyone else. Exams are not terrible. I took AP so it was easy and didnt need a textbook. But my friends got a textbook and had to teach themselves (which is tough). But i say take her for any chemistry over any other chem teacher
Class can be pretty boring and not mandatory since there is only a handful of clicker quizzes. Tests are not hard if you have a background of chemistry. Do the homework; don't just look them up on Google because doing them really helps you understand the material. Overall a good teacher who just wants you to do well.
Easy class for chem. Do the homework online because even though it takes time, she usually extends the deadline and it helps a lot for the exam. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK. use power points to study and do problems on power points. ended up with an A-
haven't taken chem since jr year of hs. fajardo is really sweet, wants to help, but doesn't rlly, gives many options for extra helpppl to go to. her tests come out of NO WHERE-sohard. studystill bad grade. assignments are saplings so u can get 100 on those. go to class to get clicker points. if u are a good test taker, take her, otherwise no.
Fajardo is a very hard grader and her lectures have nothing to do with the tests. She focuses mainly on concepts in class but the tests are mainly math and applying the topics. Would not recommend
thank god for the curve. lectures were so boring. tests were hard
She is clearly passionate about Chemistry, but the lectures are long, boring, and she makes assumptions about past experience with the subject. If you have not taken AP Chemistry, you will absolutely need a friend who has. You will work really hard for a B, and you will most likely come away with a great dislike of the subject. Avoid at all costs.
Professor Fajardo is such a sweet woman. Her lectures may be somewhat boring but she does the best she can to make them interesting. The sapling assignments, clicker questions and online quizzes are easy grade boosters. There are 3 tests, all of which you need to study for to do well. And she drops the lowest test grade for your final exam grade!
She is going to make you work for any sort of respectable grade. Lectures are long and boring. She knows what she is talking about, but does not possess one ounce of teaching ability.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. Her lectures are pointless to go to because you can't understand what she is trying to explain and it is already hard material. Only go to class to get clicker participation, she posts her slides and has a ud capture, but neither are helpful. DONT take this teacher.
Fajardo was a great teacher. She is really nice and she really trues to connect with her students. Homework and labs are a large part of the grade. Best part is I failed an exam but the final replaces the lowest exam grade, and i got an A on the final. Would recommend big time.
Not very clear, a bit full of herself at times. She doesn't go into depth on concepts, she more skims over ideas without explaining them at all. Very challenging class. The only reason I passed was because of the lab assistant helping me and other students out so often.
Fajardo means well but discusses class topics like the students already know exactly what she is talking about. Help is avaliable during office hours but even then she was very unclear when explaining things. The tests are impossible. Lab and the textbook are the only reason I passed this class.
I honestly really enjoyed taking fajardo's class. I'm really interested in science and she is a good teacher for chem103. There are online assignments- use them as a grade booster. If you study hard, get help when needed, and apply yourself, getting an A- or B+ is very possible.
Professor Fajardo is super nice but equally as unclear. She assumes everyone has taken AP Chem, and therefore jumps directly into organic chem, despite this being an introductory class. Everything she says is confusing. You have to read the textbook back to front just to pass. Labs and homework are life savers.
Not the greatest to have at 8 am with her soft voice that makes you want to fall back asleep. Got a good understanding of the class with sapling and workshop. You don't have to show up to lecture to understand the content, but you do have to if you want to get the clicker points.
I took integrated BISC/CHEM. This class has no structure. She is such a sweet woman. The class, however, is very tough. There is an insane amount of work. The tests are really tough. The lectures are really long. Do not take this class. You will regret it. You will hate your life.
Prof. Fajardo is extremely nice and caring. If you go to her about something a TA graded incorrectly on an exam she's extremely understandable and will change the grade. Given I took AP last year this course was easy for me. But if I didn't, I probably would've been confused because she's very general and not very good at explaining things.
I took Integrated BISC/CHEM and enjoyed it. (The mobile chairs were great.) I had previous chem classes though, so the class was easier for me than for others. The lectures can seem drawn out, but she goes over what will be on the test & tells you the concepts you should know. If you don't get something, ASK! (The 5-7 PM workshops are annoying)
I love Dr. Fajardo! While her class was far from easy for me, she was beyond willing to help during office hours. She will explain something ten different ways just so you understand it. Her lectures were long and always involved clicker questions (for points). I definitely had to work hard for my grade but a B or an A is not out of reach.
Fajardo is a wonderfully sweet woman, but she just assumes that students understand information with very little explanation or application. If you do the practice problems you should be fine, but the tests are still tough. Expect to dedicate a lot of time to this class, but know that she is there to help if you need it!
Teaches like you already have a strong base in chem from HS. Not clear while teaching, makes assumptions that you know/understand what she is talking about, and her class is very boring.
One of the worst professor you can have. Lectures are long and boring. She's not good at explaining the materials at all. Terrible at responding emails, or requests from students. Not really respected by students.
Fajardo has the same teaching criteria as Prof. Baillie because exams are the same but she never gets through what materiel we really need in the class period. Sapling homework always gets moved back because we haven't covered the material. For exams use sapling and online textbook to teach yourself, and take practice exams posted in canvas!!!!!
Hard class and lectures don't always line up with lab and workshop. Go to her office hours, she will explain things much easier in person.
The honors section of this was the worst thing ever. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
Not the best professor in the world, but VERY sweet and always willing to go above and beyond to help you. Accessible after class hours, thorough lectures and lots of clicker points. The more you participate the more she appreciates you and will help you. Ask and you shall receive!! Would definitely take her again.
Lectures aren't mandatory, but you can get clicker points from going. Homework prior to every lecture, and lots of little online quizzes. Exams are very hard, and requires lots of studying.
I took Honors Integrated BISC207 and CHEM103 with Alenka and Fajardo and it was bad. She's a good person, but not a great teacher. She didn't clarify concepts well. However, I had taken AP Chem in high school and studied for an hour at most for every exam and got an A on everything.
Honors integrated in general is extremely difficult but Fajardo was a pretty good chem professor. Sapling quizzes and homework are worth 10% of your grade but she won't remind you when they're due. I didn't use the book except for practice problems which aren't mandatory. Lecture handout questions are very similar to exam questions.
follow along the worksheet while she is teaching. the tests were tough but they were not impossible. The online sapling work really helped though
Fajardo is sweet and cares about her students, but if you haven't taken chemistry before, you might struggle because she completely skips over how to do stoichiometry. The tests aren't surprising as long as you do the Sapling. As long as you put in a decent effort, you should get a good grade in the class.
Sweet lady!!!!! However, tests are EXTREMELY difficult! Everyone fails or gets D's on majority of the tests. If you do better on final it will replace your lowest test grade. She over complicates problems. One of the kindest professors at UD but I would not take again with her.
Now, I love Fajardo, however the class is extremely difficult without much direction. She gives worksheets to follow along during class however we often fail to finish them or she tries to go over information far too fast making it difficult to understand. While the expectation for homework is clear it is something you have to work on for a while
She's so sweet to all of her students and is really there to help you. Her class can be challenging at times, but she and the TA and preceptor are always there to answer your questions. Most of her homework is online, and she expects that you've read the material before coming to class.
She is the nicest most accommodating professor Ive had. She genuinely wishes her students to not only get a good grade in her class but she wishes for you to understand chemistry and does a fantastic job of explaining any questions you may have. She is always eager to help and truly an amazing professor.
Although Doctor Fajardo is a lovely lady who cares about her students, she is not a good professor. Be prepared to never get through the day's lecture and when you do you'll be left not understanding a single thing. You will be forced to teach yourself all the topics and her exams are hard. The study guides that she sometimes gives aren't helpful.
She isn't very interesting at lecturing and has you work on problems in class for 5-10 minutes. Isn't very accessible by email. Exams are pretty tough, average is usually low 70s or mid to high 60s. Some extra credit is available. Not the worst professor but very mediocre.
Super sweet lady. She's an okay professor. She really tries to explain the material as best as possible, but sometimes she doesn't break it down enough for her students. Tests get progressively harder so if you're struggling in the beginning you should get help.
Professor Fajardo was a great professor. I was worried about taking college level chemistry but she made it manageable. Chemistry is never an easy class, but if you come to lectures, do your homework, and make time to study you'll do well. Some advice, start the weekly homework assignments EARLY, they can take a while.
Tough exams and doesn't always finish her lectures, very nice and caring though, and has alot of assignments for free grades.
I struggled with Chemistry in High School because my teacher was awful, but Professor Fajardo made it manageable. She is such a sweet and caring person that gives you a lot of opportunity to keep your grade up. Tests are fair and as long as you go to lectures and do your homework you'll do well.
Prof fajardo is the nicest woman ever. she explains material very slowly but that is a good thing. she genuinely cares about students and is super sweet. tests get harder but material isn't that bad. lectures are easy to understand and she answers questions readily. really enjoy her as a professor!
this class was unbelievably boring but the professor is nice and wants u to succeed. the tests would be somewhat east as long as u know what ur doing. theres a worksheet every class that will help u understand the lecture along the way. also the homework was the most annoying thing ever but every chem class does it
She gives lecture handouts for every class. Attendance is taken via answering clicker questions. As long as you follow along, go to lectures, and study for the exams you will do well.
Such a sweet and caring lady who really wants everyone to succeed and do well. I throughly enjoyed her class, as long as you do the homework and make an effort if you haven't taken AP Chem you'll be fine.
Dr. Fajardo is the sweetest woman who really cares about each student's success in her class. She has very frequent and helpful office hours sessions and gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit that really boost your grade at the end of the semester. She also loves feedback from her students to try to make her exams more fair.
Very caring professor and is very helpful if you go to her office hours which she holds a few times a week. She loves feedback and her teaching is easy to follow. Her tests are always fair, she assigns a lot of homework but you have a fair amount of time to complete it and it helps with the overall comprehension of the material.
Probably the sweetest lady ever. She loves chem and she loves teaching but doesn't know how to teach people who don't know what is going on. Her lectures don't make sense and everyone is always lost. She moves on from one thing to the other really fast even if we don't understand. There are clicker questions every class and exams are really hard.
Truly one of the sweetest professors you will meet. The class is a little bit hard to follow and unorganized but if you go to her office hours or meet with her any time outside of class she is so helpful. Fajardo really wants to see her students succeed, however the exams are on the more difficult side so study the questions in the textbook.
Fajardo, Jackie, is an amazing woman. She gives worksheet that you follow along with her lecture. The topics can be a bit difficult but she explains them really well. There is quite a bit of homework but it isn't too bad.
The worksheets she gives do not help. Goes through slides too fast and power points are awful. She can't explain things. Excepts a background in chem, but this is an intro class and most people are lost because she moves through topics so fast. Always cramming before tests. The homework is somewhat helpful. She's a nice person but awful professor.
Fajardo is a good professor. Her lectures are a little bit unorganized and she moves quickly, but is very helpful during office hours. She was also very understanding and gave me an extension on an assignment once. The course is hard but she drops the lowest exam score if you score higher than it on the final. Taking her in the spring.
Professor Fajardo is really the sweetest lady. She moves fast in lecture and can sometimes be unorganized, but she wants her students to do well and if you pay attention and keep up with the homework and lectures you will do well in the class.
Fajardo is sooo sweet and helpful. Her office hours are so helpful and she likes getting to know her students. Her class is hard, though. It is more the subject matter than her teaching style, she is constantly adjusting things to make sure everyone can get the highest grade they can. She is super accessible outside of class.
Professor Fajardo is so nice, and she's a decent lecturer, but she doesn't make the material interesting. It's easy to get bored and zone out. If I had this class three days a week for 50 minutes it would be a great class--integrated bio/chem is awful because you have an hour and 20 minutes of bio back to back with an hour and 20 minutes of chem.
CHEM108 is a hard course and Dr. Fajardo did not make it any easier. She's very nice but she just was not good at teaching. She rarely got through all of the material she needed to get through during lectures so we were always behind and the material taught in lectures was nowhere near enough to prepare us for exams. Study the textbook very well.
Nicest lady I've ever met, but her teaching style kinda sucks. She moves at a super slow pace and therefore rarely gets through all the material. It's also been almost two months since our first exam WHICH STILL HASN'T BEEN GRADED.
She is a very sweet lady but rarely finished lectures before en exam and NEVER answers emails. I feel like I taught myself most of the content through youtube videos. Do the homework because they slightly help.
Professor Fajardo is a really good professor. She is the nicest teacher Ive had, and she really cares about her students. This class is really easy to succeed in if you attend lectures, do all the homework, and study. However, she moves through material slowly and then plays catch-up right before exams.
Lectures are a little boring and overall the class is not structured in a organized way. You can easily get lost. I dont think the content is hard if the class was just structured better. The Professor herself is very nice, super lenient, sweet & you wont FAIL. However, very frustrating class when you want to LEARN. Your grade is in the air.
Professor Fajardo, where do I start? She is super sweet and caring, however, if you want to learn, she is not the teacher for you. Her class is extremely boring even if you are interested in chemistry because she stops every 2 seconds to answer a question resulting in material not being covered for the exam. Emails are almost never answered either.
Dr. Fajardo is a very nice lady but lacks the ability to teach. Her lectures are boring and it seems as if she is speaking for one long run-on sentence for the entire lecture with no direction. She absolutely never responds to emails so it's not even worth your time. I would not take Professor Fajardo again, you don't learn.
Such a sweet lady!!! She is also a very easy grader and VERY nice. So easy to talk to. The material can be difficult, but she makes sure her students understand. I would definitely take her again. She is also very lenient with her grading too, and might even push back exams and give extra credit.
Great professor. Chemistry is a hard class in general, Fajardo does not make it any worse than it should be. She is very caring and will help you if you need. Fair amount of HW, exams are easy.
She is the sweetest and most caring professor you will ever have. It does take her forever to grade though.
Overall a very caring professor, but she was very difficult, especially second semester (CHEM104). I did take the honors section, but her class was one of my more challenging courses, especially for someone who's pretty solid at chemistry.
She was really sweet, but has no organization for how she wants the course to go. We were consistently 3+ weeks behind. She tended to go on tangents and didn't give too much guidance. Her exams were really difficult and never reflected the amount we learned in class. Be prepared to study for hours, and make sure you attend the workshops.
Fajardo is a sweet person, but if you want to actually understand chemistry don't take her class. Her lectures consist of her going over the same slide for the whole hour and 15 mins. Her exams are so hard and I have never passed one. Studying does not help. She also does not give extensions or extra credit.
Professor Fajardo is really sweet and cares about her students however, I have never learned so little in a class. Lectures move very slow because she takes so much time to answer students questions, which consists of her repeating what she had previously said in lecture. We had almost no work in the class and the tests were a mess. I taught myself
Idc what anyone says, Dr. Fajardo is an AMAZING professor. You just have to be ready to take Chem seriously because she IS a Chem God. Go to office hours, visit the tutoring center & work your butt off, and there's no reason you shouldn't end the class with an A or B. Anyone who gives her a bad review is just LAZY and not ready for college. Period.
Fajardo is a very caring and sweet professor. Even though her lectures were difficult to pay attention to at times, she provides many resources that allows you to succeed in the class. She doesn't make the exams more difficult than they need to be. If you study and pay attention in class, you will be fine.
i had her for honors integrated chem 103 and i did like 1 homework assignment, the tests were all online unproctored, and overall idgaf about the class . she offers a lot for extra credit at the end so i somehow ended with a b because her grade scale is kinda on the easier end. she often gets behind on lecture content but very nice professor.
Professor Fajardo is a nice professor. She is always respectful, and seems to care about her students and wants you to do well. Sometimes, it seems like she completely understand or explain the content, however, you can find most answers to lots of homeworks online. People did very poorly on exams but she curves them so you should be fine.
She is amazing if you just give her a chance to teach and learn from here. She wants her students to succeed and will stay on a topic if you are stuck instead of moving along.
Professor Fajardo is a really nice woman who wants her students to succeed. However, her lectures are hard to follow and very confusing. The work load is decent and all tests are open notes but if they weren't, most would not do well. You need a lot of studying outside of lecture if you want to understand the material.
She really is so sweet and cares about her students. Chemistry is very difficult to follow but going to office hours helps and gives you an idea of whats going on. Not a heavy workload so make sure you do the assignments.
Fajardo is a great professor. She genuinely cares for her students, and often gives easy points on exams. She wants her students to succeed, but her lectures are often 15% of what you need to know. SmartWork , workshop, and textbook will be your main tool used to learn.
Great professor, slightly scatterbrained and that makes the class fall behind others slightly. Very caring and helpful. I would recommend, but the lectures are boring often.
Overall, Professor Fajardo is such a sweet person, but her lectures were often boring and we always fall behind on content to the point where you'd learn content the day of your exam. Lots of work between homework and labs. You will need to use resources outside of lecture.
She is caring and tries to ensure that all students understand the topic being discussed. However, her ability to care causes the class to fall behind by a week or two. This causes students to not really be aware of concepts that will be on the exam. This class is easier for people who took AP Chem in high school.
Her note sheets are the most helpful for the exams, which are open note. However, she does not usually finish the lectures and we usually fall behind. To do good in this class, you need to do the homework and make sure you understand how to do the calculations. The homework usually takes a long time.
Super easy class and practically free A. Problem is if you are taking a Chemistry class, you need to learn the material. You will not learn the material and not be prepared for next year Chemistry. It is a double-edged sword of being a GPA booster but too easy not to prepare your foundation of Chemistry. She is extremely sweet and well intentioned
I loved her! I enjoyed her lecture style but not for everyone. She will teach you something by showing it in a problem. This teaching style worked for me but it doesnt work for everyone. She is super nice. Has work submitted online by textbook so you will need to buy the online version. Tests are open note & application based. Taking her again.
I was in Honors Integrated Bio & Chem course and it brought me to the brink of dropping out. GPA tanked because of these courses. Almost no guides with labs. Textbook and attendance mandatory to pass. People say it's the hardest course they've ever taken and it's true. Honors College wants you to take it. DON'T.
Prof. Fajardo cares a lot about her students, however the class just wasn't my favorite. Very work heavy between the hw, lab work, and keeping up with topics. Exams are open note/open internet but it won't guarentee you an A as the exams are very calculation and application based so make sure you practice the smartworks!
Professor Fajardo is tough but is so helpful. Go to office hours!! She will help you learn and understand. I took her for both Chem103 & 104 and would definitely take a course from her again. Once I learned to go to office hours I really started to understand the material. She will take the time to help and guide you. Plan to work!
The loveliest woman. Her canvas needs to be better organized, but she is a great teacher otherwise. Make sure to download her powerpoints and open them in powerpoint if you miss class - she often uses animations on her slides and the rest of the info is there if you open it in powerpoint.
I highly recommend Professor Fajardo! She is an amazing, caring professor and always helps her students if they need it. She is very intelligent, has deep knowledge, and is very approachable. Her exams are not hard and open computer which is very useful if you don't remember a topic.
I came into this class knowing chemistry was a rough part of high school for me. However with her enthusiasm, kindness, and knowledge on the matter, I left this class with a great understanding of chemistry. Fajardo made sure we all got a great base of knowledge of chemistry before we move up to upper chemistry classes.
Professor Fajardo is an incredibly kind woman who has a strong passion for chemistry. Her lectures can be confusing sometimes, but it always seemed to click for me. Her TAs for lab are kind and caring as well.
Genuinely a sweetheart and is willing to help you in any situation. But, she's so good at chemistry that she's bad at teaching it, and is a bit disorganized. Nonetheless, if you work hard and go to her office hours, you will succeed. Smartworks are tedious but helpful, and she curves quite well.
She's a really sweet and helpful. She also gives a lot of partial credit on exams. She does jump around a lot though in her lectures and the class is very fast paced. Only take the class if you have the ability to keep up with all the assignments and studying you'll need to do.
Such a sweet woman, just not the easiest lectures to follow along with. She is very knowledgable and is super willing to help, but exams were pretty difficult and no chance for extra credit. Use SmartWork, lecture note sheets, and workshop leaders as your tools and you will be okay. Don't be afraid to ask questions during class.
Professor Fajardo is a sweetheart and will explain something to you until you understand, no matter how long it takes. However, her lectures are a little slow and unclear. You may have to watch some orgo chem tutor videos to understand the content but its smooth sailing after that. Her exams are easy if you really try to understand content.
Professor Fajardo is the sweetest woman ever. She will work with you 1-1 to ensure your understanding, but she rushes through lectures and explains the material in such a confusing manner it becomes overwhelming. Grades get boosted at the end of the semester. If you didn't take AP, good luck, because you are absolutely on your own for this course.
Prof. Fajardo is tough but incredibly helpful. Her teaching style may not work for everyone, but going to office hours can make a huge difference. Unstuck study was a great supplement for preparing for her open-note, application-based exams.
Scatterbrained lectures, no slides posted ahead of time. Lecture note sheets are only helpful if you already know the content (i.e. did well w/ AP Chem). Pay attention to SmartWorks. Take advantage of office hours. Doesn't respond to student emails. Exams are tough but open note (incl. final). Super sweet though. Grade boost at end of semester.
She was such a great professor and person. At first I was a little confused with how she navigated through the course content but I understood it with time and it clicked for me. Also her office hours are super helpful so make sure to go if you have any questions, and she's super understanding so communicate with her if you're having an issues.
