she rules with an iron fist, she is a good teacher but most ppl think she is really hard, if u want to learn then take her, if u just want a good grade then avoid her at all cost

She is a bit strict but teaches fairly well and if you don't work your ass off you will suffer.

she's a good prof, but she is tough. Her tests are hard, and we have 10 programs to do throughout the semester, alot of people dropped the class.

Jones is a great teacher who obviously has a passion for CIS. She is well organized, detail-oriented, knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. It is probably true that she is a bit cold, but you expect that from a CIS professor. If you want to actually learn in this class, take her.

She is a very good Prof, she knows the subject well but what hard about her is that she wants you to know everything. you should take her class if you want to learn.

Freaking awesome! Follow the instructions and you'll learn a *LOT*. I do not disagree with other reviews about her being harsh, but consider this a challenge for yourself. I followed her instructions and managed to get an excellent grade. Most students won't be able to ask her questions outside of her scope of knowledge, but it is possible.

The best prof in the department I had up to now. You won't be able to get an easy A but if you do your assignments and pay attention in class you'll be ok.

I like her a lot, but I wouldn't recommend her. I'm in 1.5 and I'm getting all A's but she is very very strict and particular about things and that annoys some people. She has styles and you better do it in her style or else. You better make sure you indent exactly 5 spaces or she takes points off-seriously. I still like her tho.

I had her for CIS1.5. She is a very good teacher. 2 tests plus a final and not that much HW. If you understand what is being taught (and she knows how to teach) you won't have a problem. She teaches everything that in the textbook (which she wrote), and responds immediately to emails.

This course is very demanding so if you dont plan on using ur brain ALOT, u will do bad and obviously she wont like u. Yes she can be pretty mean at times but she has a warm friendly side to her as well. I shouldnt have bought the book, never looked at it. 2 exams plus final

Regardless of what ppl say, she is a good teacher. If you stay on top of most of the work (which is really easy stuff) and do what she says, easy A. Simple tests, really easy homework, up until the end where it gets a little serious and kind of involved. She gave me an A in 1.5 and a sick recommendation letter. Gonna take her again for sure.

Her teaching is so clear to understand. She makes the subject easy. But there are many assignments and need to be precise on each one. Easy tests!

Took architecture wtih her. It was a hard class and it definitely takes a lot of work. She makes you redo the programming assignments if she finds something wrong with it. She posts sample tests on her site which is helpful for studying. Pay attention, take good notes, and study it well.

Good quality professor, fair grader. Being in class + read the text + do all assignments = passing the course with a good grade.

The homework & programming assignments were somewhat straightforward, and the exams were really straightforward as well. Honestly, she is a fair grader. This course involves a lot of material and she teaches with good consistency. Take a lot of notes about the material and ask questions if you don't understand. Take advantage of her.

Came into class not knowing anything about comp sci. Finished the semester with so much knowledge. This class requires a lot of logical thinking. If you put your time and effort into this class, maybe you'll learn to like it! This definitely made me consider majoring in this field.

She is a good professor. She is definitely a fair grader. You just have to be in class, pay attention, read the text, do all assignments, ask questions, and you will have a good grade.

Tough grader... Avoid her class

My favorite class so far. She literally wrote the textbook. Hand feeds you everything. Will repeat anything till you understand. Just show up for class and take notes. She asks for perfection, but mostly cause she already handed it to you.

She's a good but strict prof. You'll have to work for ur grade. We had a quiz every week until the midterm. The tests and the quizzes were fair (from the notes). Her lectures are clear also. However, she expects u to write on the exams what she said in class or something very close to it. The group project can be challenging. All in all, she's good

She gives very good analogies for the different concepts such that anyone can understand. However, she is a tough grader. Sometimes she expects you to answer beyond the exam question. For example, question ask for the "what", you also have to the specify the how, when, etc. It is hard to guess what kind of answer she wants from the question.

She's a great professor. She expects perfection on assignments, but she really does hand feed you everything and gives them ahead enough of time that you have plenty of chances to talk to her or e-mail her for help, and she's very helpful if you do.

She's tough, all the code happens on chalk board, there is no way you'll get through her class without having at least one redo on one of your 8 assignments. She's older but still energetic ;). Wouldn't recommend buying the textbook it's almost never needed and never used in class.

taking her now and I love her so much. I have no idea why students complain, she puts in so much effort . she explains things in such great detail, that i can understand much better than any other resource available to me. and personally, that is most important aspect for me in a mentor. i wish i could take her for every CISC class.

she is amazing, anyone who complains is simply lazy. obviously you have to put in the work, she is a very good teacher as far as helping you understand the topic. probably one of the best teachers in the school.

Great Professor and always there to help. Yes she makes you work but it is to your own benefit as you really grasp the concept of what ever she is teaching.
