This prof is good. She knows what she is talking about. If u have any questions she will answer & explain to u as many times as u want. She is also a sweetheart. Basically u take about 10 quizzes and 4 exams, but she reviews for everything even for the quiz, just write notes and be in class.

She was pregnant when i took her! She has a ricky ricardo accent and she is really sweet! Extremely patient! she never lost her temper and she's really friendly and helpful! the only bad thing is that she is seldom available out of class.

This teacher has a heavy accent, but, she will repeat what was said if you don't understand, She is very helpful, and makes tremendous effort to accomodate all her students who needs help if they ask. She have a nice personality and I liked her.

She has an accent but she is very helpful. Even if people ask the same question several times, she is eager to answer it and makes sure she helps everyone that needs it. Most labs, have you do a midterm and final only but she gives other points for other assignments/quizzes so that you will be able to have more grades and an easier way of passing.

She's super nice,will help you every time,gives a lot of quizzes but they help your grade,and only 1 midterm and 1 final, and also gives points for the lab work.Has heavy accent but if you ask her to repeat sometin she will with no problem.

Her class may seem alittle scary at first but its not hard. She is very nice and understanding. She gives reviews for the tests and alot of quizzes that help your grade. There is only one final and three tests so study your review and youll do just fine. If your having trouble in the class all you have to do is talk to her and she will help you out

This Professor is great!!I would highly recommend her. She has a little acent but she is a great professor. She gives a quiz each class, but this will help you on your tests. She give great review for test. She is nice and helpful !!! I give her an A+++++

This professor is very helpful during and after class. She has an accent that took me a while to get used to. If you don't understand the words she says, ask her to write it on the video overhead. She knows what she is talking about but sometimes she gets stuck with her language. Her review is the same as the tests.

It is hard to find a class that is easy AND educational. Her tests are like the reviews she gives you. She gives quizzes almost everyday, which helps alot during your tests. One flaw is her speech. She does have a heavy accent, but is you speak Spanish (who doesn't it Miami), you shouldn't have a hard time understanding her. I recommend her.

I CAN HONESTLY SAY WOW WHAT A TEACHER. I NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN LEARING ABOUT BIOLOGY BEFORE COMING INTO THIS CLASS AND HAVING THIS PROFESSOR. LIKE WITH EVERY CLASS TAKE TIME TO STUDY, LISTEN TO WHAT THE PERSON IN THE FRONT OF THE CLASS IS SAYING REVIEW AND YOU GOT A SURE (+++A) I kid not.....

Had teacher for Biology Lab, very nice teacher. She is a bit hard to understand because of her accent, but just ask her to repeat herself and she won't hesitate. A quiz everyday, and a review for her tests, very easy. Class is alot of fun you learn alot of new things. Biology is so much more fun when its hands on.

Shes a wonderful professor, She really care if you learn and takes the time to make sure you understand. The class really isn't difficult, if you pay attention, take notes, do your labwork and study you will most likely get an A. Very nice woman!

Good teacher for Lab. She explains everything well and tells you what will be on quizzes and midterm/final. She gives you plenty of time to complete lab assignments.

This is the sweetest teacher ever. She laughs at herself becasue of her accent, she will totally repeat herself until you get what she says. she goes over and over the material to make sure you know and understand what is going on. she is really caring about the grades you are getting and gives you a ridiculous amount of time to turn in your work.

She is a really, really, really nice professor. She is really helpful, if you dont understand something then you better ask her. For sure, she will help you out. The quiz/final are cake. Obvioulsy you have to study, but she will tell you exactly what you need. If you go over the review that she gives you, you will get an A!!!! STUDY!!!

shes a good teacher extremely nice and will go out of her way to help you pass. She doesn't speak english well but if you pay attention you can understand her. she gives you opportunities to make the grade in her class don't try to take advantage of her you will regret it later. the class is common sense, some of the material is boring, have to learn a few stuff but the rest is general issues you know in life. tests are easy, not organized. at the end she started giving us extra work because there was time. very easy class, i dint even put any effort into this class and i got a B in the class

Has knowledge of material. Easy professor. Likes what she does, and will help you if needed, even after class or another day of the week. Tests are a bit too much for a one credit class, but there's a review before the exams. At the end there's a major project which counts a lot for your grade. Has accent. Just follow rules and you'll be fine.

She is a really nice person, and helps a lot to pass the class,give 20 quizes and 3 tests with good reviews with an unknown bacteria project which is easy to do it with her.MCB2010L is already hard but this professor makes the class easy!!!

Awesome Prof. She knows the subject very well. Cares for her students. Need the book, need to the all the work and study for her exams. She gives you a study guide of questions for each test to be answer. Will do an UNKWN bacteria project worth 30 points not hard at all just time consuming. Class over all was great, will learn.Got an A!!

I LOVED THIS CLASS!! Her expectations are high and this class was not a breeze but she makes it interesting and possible. If you're a biology lover this is THE class to take.

She is the sweetest professor at Dade. Cares about her students, helps you with everything and even though the class is not easy she makes it so clear that you just love to go to class. Super intersting class and amazing teacher. If you want a nice microbiology experience take this teacher without a doubt!!!

She is such a nice professor. She gives reviews before all the tests which were almost identical to the test. She gives quizzes each class which are worth 1 point each and the HW is optional, but counts as extra credit. You do have to do report at the end of the semester that?s worth 30 points, it?s a little time consuming but it?s an easy grade.

had for lecture and lab. FABULOUS TEACHER!! she wants you to pass forreal! all you have to do is the work and trust me, you will pass. She helpes you out alot. She knows the information isn't easy, so she helps in alot of ways and give extra credit! One of the best teachers at Miami-Dade.

As a lab course, she is very easy. She'll help you out before and after class. Although she expects a lot, she is very easy. The class is fun if you love science or not. Just be careful not miss her class... You'll miss the lab and test that is given each class

Extremely helpful! Bio lab was my favorite class this semester & I hate science. Quiz at beginning of each class, but if you miss it you can make it up. Labs are fun. HW is just questions in lab book, which you have her check when you can. This class helped me learn for Bio lecture.

Professor Mayorga is a sweet professor who cares about her students' progress. I took her for the lab, and although her accent is, at times, difficult to understand, she is always willing to reexplain anything. The lab was very straightforward. There's a quiz each class, with two practicums that make up the midterm and final. Easy class overall.

Had her for Lab. Being a science class,ur required to study & do alot. She explains everything to u & doesnt mind helping u when u need it. She's the sweetest professor ever! I learned alot. Her tests/quizzes are easy & based on what she taught. She gives u study guides & goes over them. No reason 4 u to fail her class. TAKE HER IMMEDIATELY!!!

She is a great teacher, gives alot of work so you have alot of grades, quizzes help you alot, gives points for attendance, very reasonable, helps you with whatever you are having trouble with, tells you exactly what is going to be on tests do the reviews and reviews the quizzes and you're set

Even though you do need to study because guess what...is microbiology, Prof. Mayorga is very helpful and clear on letting her students know what will be on her tests and quizzes. She gives out reviews go by those and you WILL ace the test. I definately recommend her!

Professor Mayorga may be a little unorganized at times and hand out busy work for no reason but she's a good teacher who I recommend to others. She hands out a review a couple of days before tests and goes over it with the class if she has time. 1 easy project and presentation, 4 tests, online quizzes. Extra points for perfect attendance.

She is so nice. Very respectful to her student. She gives a lot of work but it made the subject easier to understand.almost every one passed with an A. I took for both lab and class and during the exam you can ask for help and she would explain. I would take her again and would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn.

Pros: understanding professor, gives reviews prior to any test, she only test what she review in class, lots of extra credit. 2 points for perfect attendance CONS: super unorganized, horrible grammar (which can be tricky during tests), does not respond back to emails, and lots of busy but easy homework/classwork.

The best professor that i had in my life. she is so sweet. always willing to help you. she really care about the students. it is amazing who she knows the name of their students in the first week of class. you really learn with her. 100000% recommended.

BEST TEACHER EVER. She gives reviews before the tests that go with the test, she give extra credit for attendance, super nice and understanding. The report and presentation are easy and you learn alot.

Mastering used for quizzes. Book used for homework. Put in effort u pass. Teaches off PowerPoint. Perfect attendance is extra credit but not mandatory. Love her

It was an honor taking Prof: Mayorga. This lady is absolutely amazing! Her lectures were very interesting, by far my favorite class at MDC. You actually learn a lot from her. I did not think her class was hard, you do have to study at least, within five days for exams. I ended with an A and did not need to take her final. Take Her!!! Best Teacher

I took Prof Mayorga for lecture and lab. Loved her! She is he nicest professor I have ever met! She cares so much for her students, & wants everyone to do well and pass her class. If you fail this class with her is because ,you didn't study and didn't care to learn. If you don't understand something she will explain over and over. I Learned a lot

This professor is awesome, she knows her stuff. Four test, final is optional to replace your lowest grade. If you take notes and listen she tells you whats going to be on list. Read all chapters. Quiz for each chapter is on Pearson, some in class and homework, she'll collect, so keep in a notebook. A presentation and a paper on presentation.

Her explanations and instructions when doing the lab can be a bit confusing. I sometimes got confused about what we were supposed to do, but she was always helped and answered all the questions. She cares about everyone. The exams are exactly like the reviews we do in class the day before. As long as you do everything she says, it will be an easy A

This was my last semester at MDC and all I can say is I haven't had a professor more understanding and caring as her. She gives a lot of H/W but I realized that by the time of the test I knew most of the info. She gives reviews before the test which help you 100% and the final is optional :) I would take her again! If you want to learn take her!!!!

Best professor She is amazing. However she makes you work for your grade, it is not an easy subject so is not an easy class but she makes it a lot more enjoyable and simple. Professor Mayorga is a really good person and wants her students to learn. I took her for both lecture and lab over the summer- and boy, did I learn! Yes, she gives you a lot of homework and constant quizzes, but they are easy A's and meant to help you repeat the material you're learning in class so that you can get an A on her tests!

Take Prof Mayorga! Quizzes every class but they serve the purpose to help you learn for tests! Shes very fair! You can ask her a million questions and she is always willing to help! This class is a lot of work so be ready but Pro Mayorga is awesome and very enthusiastic about Microbiology! Go for it!!

She is nice however don't be fooled there is a lot of class work and 2 group projects. She does check the class work. If you are not in class prepare to write down a lot of notes. You do have to put in a lot of work for this class.

She is super nice and WANTS YOU TO PASS. Mostly a lot of online assignments like vocab and quizzes, which can be done multiple times. About 3 tests and a very short group project. The class is very simple, you don't have to study much or anything like that because the tests are the only thing in person and she gives a study guide.

She is very caring of her students. Her class is not easy and it can be a little confusing but she really cares to be there and teach you something she is very passionate about what she does and I respect her for that.

Professor Jacqueline Mayorga is the best at teaching Microbiology Laboratory, she teaches with a passion, her classes are active and full of knowledge. She cares about the academic success of her students. Everything she says and explains in each lesson is what she asks in her exams. Take her, you won't regret it!

Prof. Mayorga was perhaps one of the best professors I've had to date. Her dedication & love for the subject shows in her teaching. She makes a very hard subject easy to understand & fun. She is kind & cares for her students. Like all labs, there are quizzes every class & 3 practicums; this is standard for all labs so not sure why ppl are complain.

Prof Mayorga is probably one of the best Microbio professors at MDC hands down. You'll really learn from her lectures & she gives great study guides for her exams as well. You need the access code for online hw. She gives a lot of in class assignments that give extra points that you can't make up unless you're excused, so don't skip her class.

I took Mayorga for lecture and lab and it was pretty tough. Between the quizzes and homework and tests it was a lot. She is a little disorganized at times but if you do all your work and use her study guides you will do really good in the class. She offers a lot of help and is very understanding. There is a quiz every single class and 3 practicums in total. Time was so hard to manage in this class. I 100% think you should manage your time well and take this class with the lecture by ITSELF. She is a very understanding teacher and has office hours. Sometimes she is very hard to understand and all over the place but cares for her students.

This professor is AWESOME I took both lab and lecture with her!!! Yes, she does give work and her exams are 50 questions. IF YOU STUDY, do the reviews, homework, classwork, and online quizzes you WILL PASS WITH A HIG GRADE!!! She is helpful and caring, she WANTS you to pass, you just have to put in the work!!! She will repeat things 100x if needed.

Passed with an A using only her powerpoints, no book. I also had her during COVID and she was so accomadating! You will pass as long as you WORK!

This professor I took online due to COVID and she was easy. Yet be expected to have lots of homework and quizzes. The quizzes are online/blackboard. And the tests are taken with her "In class", but you do not have to have camera or mic on.

Prof. Mayorga is caring and her lecture is fun. You'll do a lot of work in this class, each chapter will have a Pearson and written assignment, and a Pearson quiz. There are 4 exams, an optional final, and a semester project. She's a little bit disorganized but I got used it it and adjusted to handle it. Put in the work and you'll have an A.

Her class is easy, but you have to be prepared to read. You need a good understanding of the review and lectures to pass the tests. At least she provide a review (the first is answered) and for the PowerPoints she highlights what are important for the test. There are 4 test and 1 final (optional)

I would give Professor Mayorga a 4.5 because she is pretty disorganized, BUT she is also a really nice person who cares. She knows her subject very well. Microbiology is a tough class because the microbe names and concepts are foreign to our standard conversations. Lot of work for this class, but that is true for any MCB2010 instructor at MDC.

Yes, this course is difficult. There are 3 tests that include both the practicum and theory portions as well as a final project that is quite big. Professor Mayorga is super helpful and sweet, even offering to stay after for those who were absent before. The reviews for the tests are exactly what is assessed, so don't procrastinate. She is amazing!
