have to study a lot but a very easy class if you study..tests are exactly from notes and study guide..she is kool and down to earth i would recommend her
No Comments
Awesome lady, but the class is alot of work, but she is willing to help you out alot and likes what she is doing!Take her class
A lot is covered in the class, but if you study its fairly easy. She's very interesting and to the point. I'd recommend her to other students to take!
notes are not used on tests. Everything she talks about in class isn't needed. attendance policy sucks. dont take this class!
notes are easy to understand, history for once is made clear in this classroom, have to attend class though-if you do there is no way you won't get an A, study guides for each test
VERY EASY PROFESSOR. EXAMS ARE ALL ESSAY...CAN **** ANSWERS ANDS STILL GET A's. NEVER DID THE READING BUT PASSED EVERYTHING W/FLYING COLORS. IF YOU DON'T GET AN A THEN YOUR STUPID AND SHOULD DROP OUT OF COLLEGE TODAY!!!!!!!!
im in the summer session now, she's a challenging teacher (or maybe it's just in the summer) but you WILL learn. If you want a professor with somthing between her ears besides an ego, take her class.

I dont like this teacher. She is very rude and mean. When she is reading your work and doesnt like it then she will just stop reading and give u a bad grade. dont take this course. i dont even think she has any feelings.
This class is great. She sounds REALLY hardcore in the beginning but shes easy, and let me take my exam early.. thats cool shes really cool. Take her for History.
Took this a while back, but from what I can remember she was a nice, fun lady. Not a bad class either.
she can be very intimidating but she is a really good teacher. She's passionate and funny. I am glad I ended up taking her class because she made it interesting.
She is actually pretty damn funny if you have a sense of humor. Her class is super easy. She doesnt even read the quizzes all the way and just gives you an 100. Tests are fairly easy also, tests are out of like 115 (90-115 is an A). The paper she doesnt really read either and just gives you a A
she is funny and in the beginning she seems scary and the class seems hard but it is not as bad as she makes it seem!!
Really liked this professor. Was lil' intimidating at first, but after a few days realize she's funny.Very nice and always ready to help. She organizes notes and lectures well.Study both book and notes for tests.Good luck, will have fun and enjoy class.
good professor. she is very willing to help in any way possible. there is alot of reading in her class and the test and quizes are not very easy, but if you put time into her class you will do good.
TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!! She is probably the easiest history teacher there is...duh you have to study a bit, but she grades all her essays SUPER easy. You can pretty much BS them and she will at least give you some credit...plus she actually makes you learn and she is interesting!!!!!!!!!! TAKE HER
She's so nice and extremely helpful! Read the chapter for the quizzes and you'll do fine! She's the easiest grader..hardly reads anything and gives you full credit. She'll go out of her way to help you out at any time! Her lectures are really interesting too!
She seems veryyy scary at first. I thought about dropping her class. BUT she ends up being a nice professor, and her tests arent bad at all. As long as you write something down for the essays she'll give you credit!!
dr. mcnulty is extremely interesting and actually really funny. I do recommed her even though the class isn't easy. She makes you learn!
AWESOME TEACHER!!! She made me wanna go to class, just because she helps you to relate to the material and she is funnnyyy! I got A's on everything, she is an easy grader and an easy teacher. I def. recommend her!
So far at radford the best teacher i have had. Not only does she have good teaching skills, and is easy to learn from. She will go out of her way to help you with anything you are having problems with. If you are taking hist 111, take her class at all costs.
Great teacher, i hate to say it but i actually learned a lot in this class. Good amount of reading but the grades you get will make up for it. Walked out of this class with an A

She was a awesome teacher. I enjoyed going to her class... and it was a 9am. If you read you'll get a good grade.
This prof was cool. she is very laid back and not very hard. i really don't like history and she made it very interesting and fun. i learned a lot of stuff that i wouldn't have in other classes. i recomended her to my roommate who loved her too.
TAKE HER!! she is awsome!!!She makes history interesting and she is very laid back,as long as you read the material, there isnt a lot you have to read at once, you will do great.Test are easy, they come from the notes she gives you!I would take her again!
she's a really good teacher, but she's also really difficult. you have reading assignments every week. one quiz each week. only two tests that count a lot towards your final grade. she has interesting lectures. she's down to earth and honest with her students. she expects you to retain every detail of what you read. has attendance policy.
GREAT Prof! Her lectures are very interesting and entertaining. Hilarious ancedotes. Reading assignments/quiz once a week, but are not hard. Up to 3 absences. Do well on quizes early on and you are exempt from an essay and part of the exam, it is well worth it to keep up on the quizes, she is generous with points and grading. Def. take her!
This teacher is extremely hard. Her quizzes suck and are impossible to get good grades on. Seriously do not take her if you are looking for an easy class. It is definatly not easy at all. EXTREMELY ****ING HARD
Ok, Im a 3rd level student thought my 100 would be a breeze, I end up doing more reading in her class then I have in my Bio 322 class. So if you want to be overwhelemed with hard quizes and a strict attendancy policy then take her, She's also doesnt care about her students that much.
awesome proff! if i could take the class again i would. she has a lot of quizes but they are so easy. she is very understanding if you have any problems. her lectures were extremely interesting...TAKE HER CLASS!
Class is easy as long as u go to class and take decent notes. Her quizzes and tests arent difficult at all. Plus with A's on all the quizzes she gives u an exemption on the final exam. Very nice lady as long as u stay on her good side and follow her rules, does her best to keep the class interesting. An easy A if u put forth a lil effort.
Ms Mcnulty is probably one of the coolest teachers. Her tests are SO easy. All you have to do is go to class and take the notes! There is a strict attendance policy, but it's not a hassle to go to class because it's pretty fun. The quizzes are annoying, but if you get a 90% or better on them, you can be exempt from final. Well worth the effort
Pr. McNulty is an extremely intelligent woman. She is very knowledgable and is very fair. All in all a very good class!!!
Took a while for her to grow on me, bad first impression, but overall a great professor. Very passionate about her teaching. Her stories and anecdotes provide a good insight on the material. If you read all material and pay attention, its near impossible to fail. Gives a chance to get out of final too. Little too Freshman oriented, but expected.
VERY interesting class. I loved her lectures, she got so into them. She is such a smart woman. There is a lot of reading in the class for quizzes, but they are for really easy A's.
I liked her class, At first it sucked, and was a lot of reading but you get used to it. The fabric quizzes are easy, just take 10 notes in book, and study those. dont even bother reading those. She makes her lectures pretty interesting.
Very smart woman! Class is interesting and it is important to come to class because she covers a lot of material. She makes history interesting and I recommend her.
She's an amazing teacher. There's a lot of reading and weekly quizzes but her lectures are really interesting. If you don't understand it then just ask her and she'll explain it for you. She's the best history teacher I've ever had!
She is a great professor. Requires a lot of reading, and UNDERSTANDING, not just memorization of historical facts. Loved her lectures, and I actually stayed awake considering it was an 8 a.m. for me. Would definitely take her again for another class. She also gives the option to get out of the exam. Great teacher.
I dreaded the thought of having to take a history class because it's probably the subject that I'm least interested in, HOWEVER that all changed when I started Prof. McNulty's class. She is so smart and funny, she makes the lecture very interesting and explains things in a way for everyone to understand. She actually made me want to learn history.
She was my favorite teacher, just read the chapters and study and you should have no problem, do not take if you are not willing to put in some effort because you will be reading for her class alot. Quizes every week, along with inclass activities, 2 lecutre test that were the easiest i've taken. Great class!!
mcnulty's lectures are awesome. ive always found history boring and dreadful but i actually look forward to going to class everyday, class is very easy and FUN to sit through. READ READ READ its all you do which SUCKS, so dont take her if u dont want to do it bc youll do bad if u dont read, but if you do- EASY A. quizzes everyyy week, 2 tests
Attendance is not mandatory, but if there's a day when homework isn't due there is always a quiz. Lecture is completelely irrelevant from the tests and are often filled with family or historical stories involving entertaining things. If you have an early (8am) class of her's, she'll let you come to any other of her classes at a later time.
She is very knowledgeable and clearly loves history. Her class is a reading intensive so beware! We have quizzes every week but as long as you read and remember, you'll ace them.
You have one big project which is really easy if you dont slack off. Volunteer and you get bonus point. LISTEN to her advice!!! Meet with her! She is SO wise. Her quizzes are tough so dont wait until the night before to study. If you study well and get an A for your quiz average and do the papers you will be exempt from the Final!
Weekly Quizzes,Weekly journal entries on history, its easy, one page if that. YOU HAVE TO READ, its one chapter per week and the quizzes are a little hard but there is a possibility of 15 out of 10 points. One major group projet. No need to listen to her lectures because the quiz is straight from the book. Great teacher, very candid, LOVE HER
You have to read your book. Weekly quizzes and she doesnt go over the chapter. You have a focus writing due every week, but they are only 3-5 paragraphs long. She is very funny.
you can tell McNulty loves history... when she actually decides to talk about it. You will never/rarely take notes because her lectures have nothing to do with the tests and quizzes. She's really funny and nice, has one big project, a quiz once a week. but there's A LOT of text book reading and the quizzes can be really difficult
She is very blunt...if you say or do something stupid she will let you know. She's funny but her class is pointless. she never talks about the chapter you are going over it's completely random. The course is all based on your own outside of class reading and focus writings. If you don't like to read, don't take her class.
Awesome teacher! One of the best 100 level History teacher. She will actually make you work for your grade which is awesome. But allows you to make up points which is easy to make an A. Very awesome teacher, she does not lecture much, and loves that 20th Century History is on video!
Funny as hell and very blunt. She does tend to ramble at times, but keeps the class entertained. Very intelligent woman who knows what she's talking about. All assignments are easy and everything's on the syllabus.
The best teacher that I had last semester. She is hard and you really have to work for your grade but it is worth it. Lots of reading and quizzes but they are pretty easy. You only have on lecture test as well. She is so funny so definitely take her class!!
GREAT professor with interesting topics to touch on throughout History. You have to read and have thorough understanding of the material in order to do well in this class. Spending at least an hour a day to this reading will have you set to pass her quizzes. Lectures are entertaining and funny. Makes history fun, even for the ones that hate it.
She is one of the best professors I've had here at Radford. You definitely have to read to pass the quizzes but it isn't that bad. Pretty easy grader when it comes to focus writings. She keeps the class interesting and is very passionate about the class. Very funny!
She does not always clarify what the assignment is or clarify specific ways she wants you to do things.
Hilarious! She is very passionate about history. If you are willing to put in an effort, she will help you, but will not feel bad if you fail because you didn't work for it. Quizzes every week on chapter readings, two tests on lecture notes, focus writings every other week, and an analytical paper (based on group work). All pretty easy though.
Focus on passing the weekly quizzes and this class will be cake. You need the book to pass the quiz. There are 1-1 and 12 page papers almost every week but they are based on a opinion and she's an easy grader. There's a discussion group project that you also need the book for, and a 4-5 page analytical paper. One of my favorite history teachers!
She is probably the best professor at Radford. Just read the textbook and if you have a basic knowledge of US history you will be fine. Attend all classes and she will drop a quiz grade and if you get a good enough grade there wont be a final. A page paper due almost every week.
I loved professor McNulty! I contemplated dropping her class at the beginning of the semester but I am so glad I decided against it. As long as you always do the readings you will be fine. If you have an A average on quizzes you can be exempt from the exam. A paper is due every week, but it is only a page and easy. Would absolutely take her again!
McNulty is a great professor. Initially I thought I was failing, but after getting my papers back and a few quizzes, I realized I was doing really good. She makes it seem more intense than it will really be. II love her!
There is a lot of reading each week to go along with short quizzes, but they all have extra credit on them. We have discussions every other week that students lead in small groups and it seems like a lot at first but they're easy. If your quiz grades are high enough you don't have to take the final either. She is really passionate about history.
At first I thought about dropping the class but if you go talk to her and do the readings for each quiz you will do great. Lots of reading and time spend on the class out of class. If you get an A as your overall quiz grade you don't have to take the final exam. It's worth it. If you ask for help she will give it! Great professor.
She makes you work for an A. If you get an A average for your quiz grade at the end of the year you'll be exempt from the final. You have a quiz every week that requires lots of reading from the text book. if you read the assigned reading you should pass the quizzes. Lecture exams are extremely easy, especially if you take good notes in class
She can be really mean and harsh when you talk to her about your grades. Requires a lot of reading every week. She gives 6 focus writings that are 300-500 words with a specific topic. Lecture tests are very easy as long as you take good notes. Just do well on the quizzes because thats 20% of your grade.
Dr. McNulty is amazing! Hands down the best professor I've had at RU! She is really passionate about the topic, so the lectures go by pretty quickly. She is really good at explaining what she wants. As long as you read the assigned readings and show up to class you will be fine. There are like 5 or 6 one page papers, and 1 big paper in her class.
McNulty is hands down the best professor I have had at RU. Yeah her class is daunting at first because of the amount of work she requires, but as long as you take good notes, read the book, and put forth some effort into the 500 word essays every week it should be an easy A. She is an amazing teacher, super passionate. I would take her class again.
You can tell she really likes teaching and history. If you don't like learning and/or history don't take her because you will not do well. I enjoy both of those things so I did pretty well. Also if you have above a 90 on quiz average no final exam. She sees through bs so you cant really scoot by in this class. Make friends with her the first day
This is by far the best class I have ever taken! In the beginning it seems so overwhelming but it actually is not that bad. Mrs. McNulty is super funny and her lectures are never boring. Just make sure you read all of the text before the quizzes and you'll do fine.
Great class. Absoulutely love this professor
You have quizzes on readings every week and a project which is a group discussion. Her lectures aren't bad and your attendance determines whether she will drop an extra grade or not! Tests aren't bad either. If you cannot read 20-35 pages, I would NOT take this class. If your quiz average is high enough you will have no Quiz. Beware of F Bombs lol!
Knows what she is talking about. A lot of work given that takes a good amount of time.
She is the best professor ever and is absolutely hilarious and caring. She makes history so much fun, which was amazing for me because I hate history but learning from her made me love it. She assigns a lot of reading which you are quizzed on each week but seriously, read and you get an A. Do well on your quizzes, exempt from final.
McNulty is a great professor. She is very funny and is very relatable. The class can be difficult, but it's only as hard as you make it. There's a good bit of reading to do, but it's not that bad. You will do well in her class if you try.
Hands down one of the BEST professors at RU. I had her my freshman year for HIST 112, and learned so much from her. Her tests are hard, but not worth a lot of credit. Her quizzes are tough, but if you read you will pass them with no problem. I still go get Starbucks with her every semester. She is a great professor, and a great friend.
I took Jackie for University 100 and it was a pretty easy class. Every UNIV 100 class has the same grading and assignments but she made it somewhat enjoyable. Class wasn't fun but very easy if you showed up and did the very minimal work.
University 100 is an easy course, but Jacqueline is so funny. She made me not dread going to univ 100. So my advice for the incoming freshmen is to take her because youll love her.
She is very knowledgeable in what she teaches and is does a great job teaching it in lectures.
She is one of the best teachers I've had so far and she was also helpful with everything! Read the material she assigns and you will pass. she tells you exactly what she is grading for!
Professor McNulty is super sweet and understanding. She wants people to get involved and learn. You must read from the text and online D2L readings every week which are easy if you read the little material she asks you to. Easy grader with papers and if you dont like the grade you received you can bring it back to her and possible get points back
This professor will teach you history in the most unconventional and interesting way you've ever learned it. She's not a tough grader on assignments you actually DO and show that you actually READ the readings. I ALWAYS learned something new in her class. Final grade is from: quizzes, short essays, 1 analytical paper, class discussions, and tests.
She is terrible
Very good professor. There are a lot of assignments, but if you do your work you will get a good grade. She is very understanding and wants you to learn and do well. She makes her lectures very interesting and funny and tells a lot of personal stories so they aren't boring at all. Definitely take her class just be ready to do some work!
She is an amazing professor!! She is passionate and really funny. She does give a quiz every week all semester and that impacts if you take the exam or not. But I do recommend!
Honestly one of the best teachers ive ever had. She is hilarious but passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. If you have the chance to take her class, I would 100% recommend it.
Her quizzes are ridiculous and taking a quiz every Thursday and what subjects do we study I mean she is not that great. To be honest shes not a nice professor or a great professor either
Be ready to be reading a lot and there is a lot to do in this class, you really got to want it.
She is such a hard professor. Be prepared for quizzes every Thursday and then discussions in class that have nothing to do with what you read for the quizzes. While she is extremely funny she is also very intimidating. I took this class thinking I needed it for credit, but I didn't (thank god) so I withdrew. I felt like I was teaching myself.
I had Professor McNulty for my UNIV 100 class, and she was terrifying. She is constantly cursing at students and making the entire environment uncomfortable. She is so aggressive in the classroom that everyone was on edge. If you can switch UNIV 100 classes, then I would. If not, sit in the back of the class and maybe the cursing won't be as loud.
I love her! She is very passionate and has a good sense of humor. As long as you do the online readings (I usually skimmed them and did just fine) you'll do well on her weekly quizzes. She has 2 tests that are based on her lectures, so attendance is helpful. There are plenty of chances for extra credit. As long as you actively try, you'll get an A!
Great professor, class is lecture-based and if you skip classes you'll fall behind. The class seems very hard at first but if you show up to class, read the weekly chapters for the weekly quizzes, and follow the syllabus should be a very easy A.
She uses a free website for all the reading but you have to memorize a whole chapter and a pdf each week for the quizzes that are only like 15 questions. So hard to remember what it's on when it's never discussed in class. Weekly papers involving specific topics that she usually never agrees with. As long as you read, take notes, you'll pass.
I love her so much, we did a lot of reading but nothing too overwhelming if you make time for it, the quizzes every week aren't hard at all, she gives you a free online textbook to use for the class, and her teachings in class are very good, and she is such a joy to be around, and will offer you help with her office hours. 10/10 would recommend.
