She is a very smart woman, she can also take her knowledge of any topic and then teach it to others, something many people let alone instructors can do. She is totally awesome! Definetly take her class.

I love Ms. Popp! She always loves for students to visit her office. Gives study guides for tests, and if you do it, it will help you on the tests (though alot is just common sense!) There is a research paper and a presentation, but it wasn't too bad. She is very helpful. Take her for Sociology!

Ms. Popp is a committed teacher and wants everyone to do good in the class. She makes every effort to provide study guides, in class activities, encourages discussion, and reviews if there is time prior to the test. I will *not* say this class was an "easy A." It is marginally difficult but requires reading, studying, and class attendance.

Mrs. Popp is an extremely nice person with a pleasant personality. She is extremely helpful and really gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Study for the tests and do a good job on the papers and the A's will pour in! Definitely take her class.

I loved Ms. Popp as a teacher. She made the topics very interesting and related them to current news topics often. She really was passionate about the class. Reading the book is very important to a good grade. She is more than happy to work with you on papers, she'll even proofread rough drafts for papers! Attendance is mandatory though.

Her class is super easy IF YOU TAKE NOTES!! everything you need to know is in the notes and/or discussed in class. I recommend printing off the notes and following along in class so you don't miss what she is saying. she does tell you a lot about her personal life but she really has a passion for sociology and wants her students to as well.

I loved her! She explains everything really well and does lots of hands on activities to help you understand the concepts. She gives you study guides and extra credit activities to help you give you extra points on test. Her test are bad at all either. Mostly multiple choice and matching with about 3 essay and you only have to pick 2 out of 3 to do

Mrs Popp is a great teacher. I have not had any teachers like her since I have been at wake tech. Mrs. popp tests are not hard. The papers are not hard. But you do have to participate in her class. And it can be hard if you have those students who do not let anyone else talk. I would recommended mrs Popp.

She is nice, but a little odd. I would reccomend her class bcuz its pretty easy (she gives lots of extra credit assignments and is pretty generous with papers)but she never focuses on us... She is always looking over our heads and ALWAYS talks as though she needs to take a breath, but doesn't. She is overall nice though.

Her class was extremely easy. I got a 98 in the class. Just know the study guide, and you'll definitely get an A. I did not enjoy the class that much because it was very easy, but she is very nice and clear. Take this class if you want an A!

Great teacher! The quizes are easy, she gives study guides for test, communicated very quickly through email, gives lots of extra credit, and is really easy going. I would take her class again!

If you're not interested in people, you won't do well in this class. She does kind of ramble a little bit, but it's okay. She's willing to help anyone, she's very balanced and she's very sweet. She asks her students to give her critiques. She encourages everything to be unbiased. This is a great teacher, and I love her class and have learned a lot.

Ms. Popp is sweet and very helpful. She provides study guides for all test and even offers extra credit (5-10 pts.) on each test as well! There is only 1 paper - which only requires 4 pages (wow). Good class in content and teaching HOWEVER be prepared- there are NO pre-reqs for this course- Meaning, it tends to be an extremely juvenile class :-/

She is a very nice teacher, do the reading and answer the questions and you will be fine. Four journals you have to do, and they are not that hard. The issue is that she does not have a backbone. She gives an extra day to turn in assignments, if most of the class doesn't complete them, and it's annoying.

I took Mrs. Popp for the summer session and she was very nice! She explains things very well and her tests are super easy as long as you study the power points and read. There were only 3 tests and 1 paper. All were very easy; as long as you show up, take notes, and read, you will be guaranteed an A! Very nice lady & always there if you need help.

She is a very nice teacher and does not give difficult assignment. Just journals and tests. There is a lot of class discussion. One issue is that, out of the all five master statuses, race was the most covered by far. 75% of class discussion was about race even if it started with another topic. I was expecting a little more "diversity".

If you are going to take Soc 210 online this is the teacher you need. She is very organized. Work is broken up into easy weekly modules. You will have to read the book and she also has notes for every chapter that are very helpful. Do the discussion boards and participate and you will make an A.

This class was super easy and fun. Popp is a nice lady and always willing to help those who need it. Participation is key in the class, so be sure to take part in class discussions because she does grade you on your participation. Her assignments are easy and her tests are easy if you study her class notes. I would take her class again.

Overall an easy class. The material was interesting and the discussion boards were too. For my class things were due every Monday. I remember some weeks, I spent more than an hour on an assignment and some weeks, no more than 15 minutes. It's kind of an easy A but you have to work a little.

I have never rated my professor, but I know professor Popp definitely deserves one. She is by far the best instructor I've ever had. She is dedicated toward the subject and truly cares for her students. Exam are not difficult if you read the textbook and her lecture notes. This is a very easy class for a college level course. Popp is very nice and the tests are really easy as long you pay attention during lecture and take notes and study. There's one paper but it's sort of fun and you do it on a movie of your choice. She also gives really easy extra credit. Take her if you need this class.

She is really helpful and really nice. She has a lot of power points, the easiest way to take notes is to print out the slides and just write comments beside them. Her test are generally easy, but she does ask a couple of questions from the text book readings but they are difficult.

Professor Popp made sociology even more interesting than it already is. She obviously loves her subject and is very knowledgable. Uses good examples to explain difficult subject matters. Took her online sociology course and the textbook is not needed at all. Her power points have all the info you need and explain concepts more clearly.

Professor Popp is so sweet: not only is she understanding of student's circumstances, but also sends weekly emails of encouragement. She reads each student's assignments thoroughly while also providing heavily-personalized feedback. She gives her students the opportunity for self expression, and the projects are actually fun. Takes attendance on the hour, don't be late. Doesn't care too much about absences if you show up the next class, especially if you email an excuse. Ask before class starts to leave early and she won't mind. Won't pick on people but will awkwardly stand there and stare at everyone until someone volunteers an answer. Very nice, a little odd.

I took Soc210 online during the summer. Honestly Prof Popp is by far one of the best professors at Wake Tech. Her grading is very clear and she makes each chapter and section interesting. She had us do some projects to help us learn in ways other than power points. I highly recommend taking Prof Popp if you get the chance.

Prof. Popp taught sociology well. She's great at keeping the class respectful and kind. She gave very specific instructions for the weekly homework assignments, the term paper, and the culture project later in the semester. There were three exams that you definitely have to study for, but the class wasn't too hard. Strongly suggest her for SOC210.

Amazing teacher, each week there are assignements but not too difficult compared to other classes I have taken. She grades quickly and fairly. Did not have to study a lot since the topics were interesting and taught about the real world. Would take this professor again!

Would 100% take professor Popp's class again! She grades fairly and works with you to get the best grade in her class. There's a decent amount of reading but the tests are not hard at all, open/group discussions in her class daily were awesome and you left her class with an open mind every day. I took this class online and she's an incredibly easy grader. She straight up tells you to use the textbook on online quizzes and tests and gives you chances for extra credit. For discussion posts and essays, as long as you write in functional English and follow the rubric you'll get an A at the least. I just did the assignments and got a 100.

This class was interesting. Popp is a great professor and the workload is not too bad. I recommend reading the textbook. The hardest part of the class is the midterm and final which must be taken in person. Those exams are what killed my grade because they count for such a large percentage.

If you don't do well on tests then get ready to study (since it is half of your grade with three tests)! The study guides are long and vague and cover a quarter of the test. Not many things she grades, therefore, do the best you can on the other few assigngments. She is not a tough grader and the project and term paper are relatively easy and fun!

Professor Popp's class is one of the best online courses I've taken. She recorded so many helpful videos, going over the readings for each chapter and reviews for tests. Overall good Professor! I took her online so I didn't really get to know her. However, she is an easy grader as long as you submit work on time and follow instructions. This was my first year of college and Professor Popp made my transition from high school very easy! She does not give a lot of homework and grade very fairly on the homework she does give you! Professor Popp really cares about what she teaches and it shows. She is very accommodating when it comes to COVID-19 and will provide extensions on certain assignments if needed. Her class isn't difficult, though studying for tests is a must. She is a very fast and fair grader.

It is obvious that Professor Popp loves what she does, and she makes consistent efforts to help all students. The coursework is not heavy and is clear (expect a weekly chapter, slides/text notes, and a discussion board or analysis assignment) and when there are projects (one essay and a formal project) plenty of time is given. She is so so so great! I took her for psychology and then I am in social diversity now with her. She is so smart and knows what she is talking about. She is never biase and has clear instruction with reminders the day and obviously week items are due. Cant say enough good things and the work she gives is always on topic and has great discussions.

This class is very straightforward, and Popp is super nice. There's a paper and culture project, which are both valued at 10% of the grade, but you can get extra credit if you submit them early. The tests (3 of them) make up 60%, and the rest of the grade (20%) is attendance, short practice quizzes, homework, and discussion board. ������ Easy class

I absolutely loved professor Popp. She truly was very caring and considerate. Although I must say, all my other sociology classes were "Quizlet" classes but not this one. Her quizzes and tests always were about specific things she mentioned in her videos or in the textbook so you actually have to put in the work.

I loved SOC225 with Professor Popp! Her video lectures were great and she was very clear about what would be on the tests. Journal assignments are not hard, and there is a lot of flexibility about what topic you choose. Just follow the rubric and you will get a 100. She offers review sessions for each test and will post the recordings.

I took her class completely online and she made the expectations very clear. There is typically an assignment and quiz due each week and a total of 3 tests and 2 projects, one is an essay. Textbook reading each week but to being honest, I didn't read mine much and got a 94 in the class. She has optional virtual review sessions! Amazing teacher!

Assignments are simple and easy to complete as they don't take too much time. I missed an assignment and assumed it was too late to complete or she would be strict on the late policy, but she emailed me that I could submit it still. Professor Popp was amazing! Even in the online course, she was very engaging. She posts videos breaking down concepts and offers test reviews. Every assignment had a rubric that was easy to understand and follow. I was never confused about any of the assignments. There were also multiple opportunities for extra credit for those who needed it.

I took Prof Popp's online 8 week session in the fall. She had clear grading criteria and provides excellent feedback. She provided a helpful study guide for each test and she also offered live test reviews. I would definitely recommend her and I would absolutely take a class taught by her again.

Definitely take her class! This was an online class, but she gave clear instructions on how to succeed in the class. There is a lot of textbook reading in this course. But Professor Popp is amazing. The assignments are pretty easy and she grades fairly. She is not over critical of things like grammar/spelling which is refreshing. Her expectations are clear. She is pretty lenient with late work. Her study guides are awesome and really prep you for the exams.

Pretty easy class do the work, and you can expect to get an A. 48-hour grace periods and quizzes were fairly easy to take. Multiple attempts for quizzes assignments are very easy. This class was easy and fun. Professor Popp made it so that the lessons were fully understood and we did a lot of group talking in class which I enjoyed. She gives a lot of grace periods for assignments and tests which is nice, and the textbook is easy to read.

There were 3 assignments that take up so much of your grade. Other than that, the classwork is pretty easy. There aren't a lot of assignments. She was nice and a good professor.

She is very understanding and approachable, and the classwork is light and always has clear guidelines. Highly reccommend, especially if you struggle with deadlines or have a disability!

You can choose anything you want to do for your culture project as long as it relates to culture. If you turn in late work once or twice, she grades w/ no penalties! Loved her!

Professor Popp was so kind and supportive. All of the material you need to succeed is readily available in the form of notes and review videos. The supplemental textbook has everything you need to know, but it takes a little while to actually read through it. All tests and quizzes were open-note with no lockdown browser. Take sociology with her!!

Very understanding of circumstances and will accept late work. Course setup is easy to navigate and provides good feedback!

I loved professor Popp! She was super easy and obviously cared a lot about her students. There are 3 tests worth a good chunk of your grade as well as a paper and a project but the tests are open book and she grades super easily.

Take her class! Her assignments were fun, and did not stress me out whatsoever. She allows for journal assignments to be submitted as a song, slideshow, or essay. The exams/final is easy. She uploads videos going over subjects, and there are articles and powerpoints that she uploads, in case reading the textbook is too much for you.
