Great Teacher, and very funny too! Makes the class interesting and enjoyable to go to. If you go to class, and complete the work that is given (easy)you will get an A. She has sarcastic humor, so if you can handle jokes she is the right teacher for you.

This lady may give you a lot of work but it is only to benefit you for learning.This class was really fun because this professor made it that way. nice person, really reasonable.

Ms Starren is my favorite teacher ever. I learned a lot and had a great time doing it. She draws everyone into the discussions that can sometimes get pretty wild. She is a lot of fun and loves to joke. Everyone is encouraged to give opinions and all opinions are respected. The three hours flew by, I always hated to leave. She is GREAT!

She is an awesome professor. Great sense of humor and is light hearted. If she knows you are trying your best, she'll cut you some slack. Don't be late though, that's her pet peeve. Her tests are all take home, she requires 8 take home writing assignments, 2 Cultural events, and 2 research papers. Easy papers because they are from your opinions.

Be prepared to laugh! She cares about your well-being and understands that life intervenes at times. Take home tests; however, they are difficult. A lot of writing, yet she is flexible with her grading. Jackie is quite intriguing. She will make you think "outside of the box."

Jackie is sooooooo funny! She is a very understanding teacher and understands that things come up. She does however, demand that you attend her class and she hates tardies but if you let her know something came up she won't give you a hard time. So hilarious! Listen to her, come to class on time...just respect her rules and you'll get along with her just fine. I highly recommend starting the tests as soon as you get them or else you'll be stuck in a big hole. She makes the material so much fun to learn and it's never a dull moment in this class. Jackie is by far one of Valencia's best teachers. I have never met anyone so funny! Her class ROCKS and well the work, it requires so thinking and ready, but it is not hard. This is a gordon rule class so there is some writing that will be done. I would recommend her to anyone interested in taking Mythology. You will learn a lot.

Let me tell you guys about Jackie, she is amazing. I took 3 classes with her and I wish I could take more and more. Yes you have to write a few papers and take a few tests, but it is worth it, trust me. I have never had that much fun in a class and I never will again unless Jackie is teaching it.

I took her Honors class, it was awesome. Jackie is amazing! It's a bit of work but its nor hard. As long as you do the work you'll get and A. She takes later work and doesn't penalize you for it. Great class!

Oh' my gosh!!! Her class is soo easy!!!! It seemed a lil' bit difficult at 1st, but she gives Take Home Tests & a Take Home FINAL. You also have a project 2 do, but its easy! I was late almost all the time 2 her class & was absent almost 10 times, but as long as you talk 2 her at the beginning of the semester, you'll be fine. I got a "B".

Wacky Jackie is off the chain. I am a non-traditional student, who hasn't taken classes in a few years. I was worried until I met her. There are a few writing assignments that can take time, but overall she is 1 of the best teachers ever. You learn a lot and she is very funny and entertaining. I am taking her for all of my humanities classes.

(HONORS) Probably one of the most memorable teachers I've ever had in my life. She assigned papers and gave complete creative freedom on them. Extremely into what she is talking about and gets everyone else interested as well. She has a great mind and sense of humor.

Brilliant professor! This is humanities class now, so yes LOTS of writing but Jackie keeps it fun. Keep an open mind (this is Mythology I took with her) and hand in all work--then you got an easy A.

Jackie is a great teacher. However, the Goldon rule criteria is met thoroughly. The work load takes me at least 5-6 hours a week. There is a lot of writing, and yes she does pay attention to what you write. She has a passion for her class, and was very understanding, NO late work. Take her but it's not an easy A if you don't manage your time.

Prof Jackie is the best!! There's 4 take home tests that consists of vocab, essays, and multiple but they're not very hard, just time consuming. She is a very very easy grader and if you try, she'll reward the effort. Humanities is a boring subject but Jackie is hilarious and made class fun. TAKE HER she's amazing and makes the class enjoyable. Theres 2 1000 word papers which are easy if u take a few hrs to do them. the assignments are interesting and u actually learn a lot about mythology. theres about 1-4 assignments a week which are easy.Theres a lot of writing but that's with every humanities class. take her and youll get an easy A

Professor Starren was an amazing Professor. Mythology was very interesting but If you don't enjoy writing or are not a big fan of it then I would stay away from the class. Besides that take her!!!

Professor Starren is easy going, attendance is mandatory, but she is understandable. She has a few assignments that are available since the beginning of the semester. She is liberal and sometimes makes insensitive comments about religion. Lots of random activities in class. If you want to learn the material might be better to pick someone else.

Okay, I absolutely loved Professor Jackie. She is outstanding and very easy to connect to. Hated the class though. If you are going into Mythology thinking its more about Greek gods and the odyssey don't take this class. This class was more about religion then anything Greek. As a religious person I did not have fun taking the class.

In this course, there are usually 2-4 assignments a week. She's a lenient grader, and most of her quizzes have unlimited attempts. You will be writing quite a bit, as the discussions for this course are close to 500 words. Also prepare yourself for video discussion posts and replies. Overall, she's a great professor that gives great feedback.
