Ms. Kierbow is a really nice teacher. She is always willing to help her students out. Sometimes her notes are unclear, but if you need her for anything she'll help. She wants her students to pass, and her being a student herself made the class easier because she understands her students and what it takes to pass that class

Ms. Kierbow is witty and fun. She does a good job of teaching students how to write because she provides lots of examples. She is also willing to meet students outside of class. Her class is also fun cause she writes on the board a lot. nice view

I hated Jade's class for most of the semester because she kept making us revise our papers and I thought it was stupid to keep working on the same thing. But she always told us that the only way to learn how to write is to practice, practice, practice. She was right. I learned a lot from her. Take her class. you will learn too.

I really enjoyed Jade's class. She allowed us to revise two essays which totaled to a possible maximum of 6 out of class essays. It was a lot of work but it did help me learn. Also, she stays after class to talk to students or talks to them in her office. That really helps with the revisions. I recommend her class

I love this teacher! The material she uses to teach is awesome. We used Kanye's Album for example. We revise our first college essays and she really makes you think. She's funny, a bit sarcastic, and she puts out just as much as she puts in. Take Kierbow for English!!!

I dropped English 1102 twice for two semesters than I took her and passed with a B!! She is great, she helps you out alot, go to her office and talk to her after class and she will help you understand. Class is not boring, she trys to make it interesting as possible. Recommend her def!!

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had! I never liked English prior to taking her class. Now writing is getting easier and easier the more I do it. She explains everything clearly, very interactive with the class, and always available if you need help. Just make sure you read and take notes before each class. Take her class! It's worth it!

I had to repeat 1101 because my first teacher was an evil you know what who made me feel like I was incompetent, but it turns out I'm a pretty decent writer I even got an "A" when I took Kierbow.....TAKE HER because your life depends on it......I'M SERIOUS....but if you think this is going to be an easy "A" think again...I worked hard for my "A"

So self-staging was really easy. There were a lot of fun activities that we did throughout the semester that actually made you want to go to class and presenting really isn't as hard as it sounds as long as you do what she tells you. Only downside was there was a lot of work, especially when it came to group presentations and interviews.

She explains her expectations clearly, and she gives lots of extra help before papers are due to students who ask for it. If students will follow her guidelines, they will be successful in class.

Ms. Kierbow can come off being very intimidating but she is just being honest. Very helpful ifyou go to her for your papers and is very clear on what the assignment is about. she is willing to offer help, you just have to be willing to take it. word of advice : READ THE BOOKS AND TAKE GOOD NOTES ON THE BOOK!!!

Amazing professor! This course is so much better than public speaking and actually teaches you a lot about how to "stage yourself" in a variety of real world situations. She is extremely helpful and encouraging and even convinced me to change my major to english. Awesome professor.

I'm usually very good at writing papers, never made below an A. I was even an English major at first. Loicano is tough; harsh grading. Good texts/film at least for papers. GO TO THE WRITING CENTER! A LOT! She needs to see your effort! I managed to get an A, but I couldn't have done it without the writing center and going to her office hours.

She chooses interesting things to write papers on but she grades the papers harshly. I went to the writing lab for each paper and was told it was a good paper, then she tore it apart.

She makes you talk in front of the class everyday though. She requires 10 journal entries and then 3 speeches and one is a group speech. I loved her class.

Three presentations - one being a "Shark Tank" group project (be aware this is 20% of your grade) - and a mock interview. She has no shame and will give you the full benefit of her class. I hated English coming in. She pushed my creativity out and I thank her for that. She inspired me to change my major to English, shocking right? Everyone says that she is hard but if you do the work, you'll be fine.

But the way she teaches, and the methods she uses to prepare you are beyond genius. I never thought I would enjoy this class as much as I did. Also do your journals, they're so easy.

I had professor Loicano for two classes last semester and she was the best professor i have had so far. First day of class she seems kind of scary but she is super funny and makes class interesting. She is a tough grader so it is not an easy A, but try and ask for help and she will. Get on her good side and be on time!

I had Professor Loicano for Public Speaking, and I was beyond nervous going into this class but she made it fun for everyone. By the end of the semester her class felt like a safe place where all of us could freely express ourselves. Yes there is some difficult assignments, but this is college so not everything will be a simple walk in the park.

Loicano has by far been my favorite professor here. She will definitely make you work for your grade, but she gives you all of the tools to do well. Professor Loicano treats teaching the way it should be. She grades based on skill without bias, and she has definitely got the credentials and skill to do what she does. She is always willing to help students in and out of class, and will even help students with emotional problems and things unrelated to class. Her office is also a safe space.

I had so much fun in this class. It is not your regular public speaking class, so be ready to do some impromptu speaking. She makes you become friends with everyone in the class so its not as scary! The professor is VERY opinionated and will tell you anything and everything about her life. I highly recommend taking this class!

On the first week of school she makes the class get to know each other; which is super beneficial because your peers will quickly become your friends. Class wise it's super easy. There are only 3 speeches and a final. If you show up and put forth effort you'll get an A.

She taught a full semester of work in three weeks and even provided Free electronic copies of the texts. She worked really hard for the students who put in effort, but it was an online class so that meant that half the class sucked. She was cool though

There weren't many assignments to do but they were easy so I never really worried about my grade. I highly recommend her class. She is a great professor. If you're moderately decent at public speaking, she'll be good for you.

I took her this summer in an ecore 1102 class and she was helpful and not really a stickler about stuff like most ecore teachers, so it was easier to do well in her class

Took her american lit class online through eCore. It was a short class so maybe that is why i did not have a great experience. she isn't the worst but not the best either.

The reason I wouldn't take her course again is because she doesn't always know how to explain the directions of what she's expecting from you. She will show you a few different styles of writing, but go into depth more than one style over the other, which makes it hard to really grasp the concept of how to use both styles.

I feel like I really got something out of her class. We focused on feminism and how it impacts culture. I don't feel like I wasted my time with her

I took this class for both English 1101 and 1102. I enjoyed coming to class because she made learning fun and engaging. Make sure to do the reading/watch the pieces of media as there are tests on them. The writing that was required was extremely enjoyable. Furthermore, the final projects in both classes were very simple and fun to do.

Jade was an amazing teacher pretty straight forward. A textbook was not required, but we did have to purchase one book for the class(didn't cost much). I would definitely recommend taking her class, I had her for English 1101!

Professor Loicano helped me at a time where it seemed like the world was caving in. She did not hold my hand or give me any shortcuts, what she did was far more meangful and imprortant, she gave me a chance to make things right.
