He is from Korea and can be hard to understand but if you have questions, he is very willing to help you. He won't let you make up assignments you miss, so do your HW. His review are pretty good at getting you ready for the tests and the final review was PERFECT!!! He does move quickly and likes kids who already know the material.

Mr. Song is an amazing teacher. Before I took his class I didn't understand math at all, but when he explained it, it finally made sense. If you have a chance to take his class, do it. He uses MyMathLab instead of paper homework, which is easier, and the reviews are just like his tests. If you show up to class and listen, you'll most likely pass.

Great math teacher. Did not use textbook, but homework is all online submission. You have to attend class and do the work and you'll do OK. He's clear in his explanations, and if he doesn't think you've got it, he'll explain a different way. Very willing to help students outside of class also.

I haven't taken a math class in over 30 years, have no appreciation of nor desire to learn math, and Song made this class enjoyable. The book is not required. He is very willing to help you out of class, even after he's explained things numerous different ways. It was a very time consuming class, but I got a B+ (not bad considering my background).

Professor Song cares about everyone passing and learning the material, and he does his best to motivate you and help you. He is VERY well qualified, knows his stuff, and shows you shortcuts.

I would not recommend taking this class online. I am an honors student and I barely got a C in this class. Stay away from taking online also the grade break down is 14% hw 16% ch test 40% for your two exams, and 30% on the final. Unless you are an amazing test taker you will not do well in this class.

I have taken from many different math teachers and this guy is still my favorite! He explained things so clearly and took the time to make sure every person understood. He prepared me well for math1050 and math1060. Tests were pretty good and he gives extra credit for attendance. He was also funny and made class enjoyable. Take This Class!!!

Jae Song is the teacher to take if you are really bad in Math. He doesn't think any lower of you if you are bad in Math. I took it in the Spring and his class consisted of 4 in class tests (20QUESTIONS) all objective and one final exam (30 Questions) objective as well. He gives you a study guide for each tests and he discusses them in class too.

Amazing professor. The department average is 60% for math students in the rest of the math department at UVU, but in his class, the average grade is 80%. He gives out some take home extra credit so you have lots of opportunities to increase your grade. Easy to understand, and cares a lot about how his students do.

Took Mr song for math 1010 hes just a cool dude and teachers so well doesnt move on until everyone understands and loves when you make mistakes so you can learn from it and his hw is online which is nice and his test are multiple choice which is even better take him and pay attention and youll be fine

I took MAT1010 online with Jae and thought it was great! I dont really feel like the professor played a huge role in the class as the majority of the assignments were through ALEKS. I did terrible on the final and still passed the class with a B+. I would highly recommend this class if you need to take an online math credit.

Professor Song, is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. From day 1 his criteria and expectations were very clear. He didn't take attendance for us but expects you to be adults and responsible for your own education- He encourages questions and is willing to explain everything -in different ways to help you understand. Prof. Song really knows the material is teaching. He teaches in a way that is easy to understand and has an open office, if you are struggling and need extra help. Prof. Song truly cares about his students, going as far as to make name tags the first week so he can learn each students name. He also is fairly entertaining.

You will have to buy mathlab for this class which is $100, but the good news is no textbook and getting 100% on homework is super easy. The questions that appear on the review are the same as the test. He asks you to continue to redo past tests until the final to make studying so easy. He has his own easier methods for solving math that he teaches.

He made everything super easy and clear to understand, and even when I didnt get the way he explained it, he explained it again and again until I understood it. Jae would get 1 on 1 with students (it was a summer class) to make sure they did everything correctly.

on the first day of class i was really nervous because he does have a really strong accent and i was worried i wouldn't be able to understand him,but he was an amazing teacher. he is very organized and uses canvas and pearsons math lab ( activation fee). he gives all different examples on ways to solve a problem and lets you choose which one works.

I really liked Professor Song. The class was live stream due to COVID-19, but I still felt like he was very effective at teaching the material and made sure every single person was confident before moving on. He even met with several students outside of class in MS Teams to give them 1:1 help. Super organized, very educated, and so so so kind!

Dude made $$$ but decided to sell his business and become a teacher because he loves math and loves making it easy for others to understand. His love for math shines in every lecture. The coolest part is if there is a mathematical shortcut or trick out there, he knows it and teaches it! Learning math was genuinely enjoyable with Professor Song.

I have taken math classes at UVU and BYU, and Jae Song is the best Math Professor I have ever had. I spent several hours with the final exam Study guide and got 100% on the final. It's pretty rare that a study guide is that effective at covering the material. His methods are better than the textbook, so go to class.

You're graded on tests and homework, that's it. For online class, he's pretty non existent, you just watch a video and then do the assignment. That was the only thing I didn't like. I wish there was more of him throughout the online class cause the lady in the videos is terrible! haha. But I also like that he's chill and you just do your stuff.
