He seems like a nice professor, but he is wildly unhelpful. He claims that he puts a lot of work into the study guides but then puts in several repeated question and questions that were not covered in class. Even if you read the book you'll have a tough time in this class. He's the only one who teaches cell bio rn tho so good luck bio majors.

He is really hard and his class requires lots of work. He does seem to care and his research is really cool. His tests seem to have multiple right answers so that makes it hard.

His exams are impossible to decipher. It's more about trying to figure out what he is asking. I studied for hours, never missed a class or lab, and still got a C. The final didn't test basic concepts and also tested chapters he expressly told us weren't important. I know this subject is hard, but this prof makes it way harder than it needs to be.

This course is difficult, but you learn so much throughout the semester. Great for MCAT prep. To do well on his tests, you need to understand why and how cellular processes function. Read the book and watch lots of animations. If you can explain the material to someone else, you're well prepared.

His test are very confusing and include things that he said to not worry about or things we haven't covered yet. His class is all lecture and half of it isn't on the test and then he goes off topic about your health and cancer. Also gives out connect quizzes but doesn't remind you and they are all out of order and not on things we have covered.

Words cannot express how much I hate this class. I have taken the proper measures to get a good grade in his class (studying, quizlets, reading, attending class), and still have regularly gotten Ds on his exams. He goes over unimportant facts in class, doesn't tell you your grade for the entire semester, and doesn't teach well. Do not take him.

This is possibly the hardest professor at Marshall. The average is always failing, yet he does not do anything about it. His study guides are absolutely useless. His tests are super hard and do not make any sense. Avoid him at all costs unless u want to fail.

Honestly, I appreciate how difficult his class was. It was a rough transition for the first bio class ever taken in college. There is a lot of material covered in this class and in lectures most of the time he reads off the powerpoints. I think that going to class is beneficial because he can offer great information that can help later on.

Avoid! He knows his stuff, but he makes the class much harder than it needs to be. He gives study guides, but when you get to the tests the questions are nothing like it. I studied two weeks in advance before tests and did very well in lab I still got a D. Also you will have no clue how youre doing because he doesnt ever post grades.

Dr. Valluri is an extremely average professor. The lectures are interesting and he is a nice enough guy, but the exams are much more difficult and never follow the provided study guides. He rarely responds to emails, so a lot of the class is teaching yourself. Avoid him if you can, or if not it's not that big of a deal. He's whatever.

I thought the lectures were interesting and the exams were fair. Everything that he discusses in lecture are on the exams, you just have to know even the smallest bits of info. The study guides are a great outline for what to study. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities to boost your grade!

I don't feel like I learned much in the course, everything here is covered in other classes like Biochem. He puts a low amount of effort into the class and it feels pointless. This class was just extremely forgettable. The exams are difficult, but he does offer extra credit.

Dr. Valluri is a great professor, but feel like I didn't learn much in this class. He reads directly off the slides, so lecture can be boring. Exams are difficult, but there is plenty of EC. Attend class b/c that is where most of the EC comes from. He gives study guides for the exams, but I didn't think they helped. His cancer research is nice.

Dr. Valluri is a tricky rating. His lectures are so far the best Biology lectures I've had here due to his medical applications. However, he expects you to study Cell Bio like it's the Bible. He just reads off PPTs in class but anything on Blackboard (other slides not covered, YT vids, web resources) plus the textbook is fair game for the test.

Dr. Valluri is nice, but his lectures are boring. He reads directly off the slides. Some of his exam questions come out of nowhere, but I have heard that reading the book helps. Overall, not a great class, but not the worst. Lots of repeated information from BSC 120.

The class was fine. Much of the material is covered in other classes. The tests are difficult and often did not include information he directly said would be on the test. He gives extra credit TopHat questions during lectures. The lab is also fine. Some of them are tedious, but not incredibly difficult.

Dr. Valluri is. A lot. The points in his class are largely based on tests (and by largely, I mean almost exclusively). His 'study guides' are really vague and barely if ever cover what's on the exams. His class really frustrated me as someone who enjoys cell biology.

I don't even know where to begin when it comes to warning every person possible about taking this course. If you do not already know practically every detail about every cell process go ahead and accept your fate. My best piece of advice to anyone considering taking Valluri is, if you don't have a religion go ahead and pick one and start praying.

Avoid if at all possible. Test questions are completely out of left field and are nothing like what we learned/studied. If he tells you to study certain things for the exam, do the exact opposite; he is lying. Ignore the study guide. I liked the subject of cell biology, but his exams were completely unfair, ridiculous, and terrible worded.

Valluri is a very knowledgeable professor and loves what he does. His tests are very fair and use many exam banks. His lectures are very clear and he uses tophat to give extra credit questions for most every lecture. Not an esay course, but if you put in the effort you will see the results in your grade. Dr. Valluri is very passionate about this subject and has many interesting stories which apply to the lectures. He was nice and open to answering questions, but slides are not a good representation of the exam. You will need to read the textbook. There is in-class extra credit and lab is also part of the grade (very easy).

To do well in Dr. Valluri's class, you probably won't learn much from the lectures. During the first couple weeks of the semester, he mentioned his cancer research, which was really interesting until he kept repeating himself. The only reason I came to class after that was for the TopHat extra credit. Really nice guy if you can catch him lol
