boring lectures. occasionally funny. tests are super easy. download study guides way before test and bring them to lecture with you and follow it. got an A in the class without even touching the book.

Outlines=A. Shes very funny if you pick up on her subtle jokes in class.

The most boring class I have ever taken at SDSU. Psych is supposed to be an interactive class. The only interaction I have gotten from this class is my head directly to my back pack and a nice hour and 15 nap every tues and thur! Don't need book!

Great instructor, the most knowledgable I've ever had! Funny/entertaining. On the first day she tells you that she lectures every meeting, and that she doesn't take attendance, so I don't know why those who think it's boring attend lectures?

She's truly brilliant, and funny (also, nice body). She lectures every class which some, esp. non psyc majors, may not like. As a previous review says, she covers the material that you get tested on. I've had her for 3 classes and learn so much each time.

Jahna lectures 95% of the time so be expecting it. She really knows her field and draws on much of her vast research experience. Not much interaction unless students ask questions, which I would have liked more of, but then I didn't ask questions either.

Love this prof! Took her for two courses now, she is interesting and she is very smart! The tests are getting harder and more focused on what happens in lecture since no one is comming to class anymore, and that is killin' people's grades. Good curve.

Very fun class and easy teacher. Tests are a little hard, but curved to adjust. If you want to do well in the class, make sure you show up for the lectures (90% of Test questions). Oh and no need to buy the book, just buy the $12 teacher notes.

very funny, lively teacher but the lecture notes are very confusing! try to write down what she says and forget about the lecture notes. if you just copy her notes, you'll just be confused when you look back at them later. but all in all, great class.

Funny and very informative. Another class though I wish I hadn't missed so much. 8 am is too early. She grades on a curve. The class fulfills GE requirements so too many dummies take it. I would take a class with her again.

Tests were only medium difficult. In spite of noisy room (construction), v. cool prof. really knows her stuff and is funny and gives study guides for every exam plus practice tests w/ answers. And, you can drop any one exam, including the final.

Overall, a good class. She gives you study guides and practice tests with the answers to help you study. You can also drop you lowest test grade or not take the final. Teacher is well organized with all lectures on Power Point. In this class she does not give you lecture notes on the internet.

Not a bad class, just a bit boring. If you go to class and study the study guides, you WILL do well. Her curve is awesome. If you have a short attention span I recomment not taking her morning classes, or you may not attend. But other than than, great prof.

Very easy class, notes print out. Study for a day and a half before test and you will get a or b. Very big curve.

Good class if your a psyc major. Personality with a little social and psych history thrown in. Moderate amount of reading, tests aren't bad but always a few tough questions. Cool text. I thought the prof rocks - real life examples, pretty funny, can laugh at herself and the human condition.

Over all a very good class. She covers A LOT of info in one semester which makes up for the power point slides. Very approachable and kind when answering my questions. If you are paying attention - she usualy throws in a few good jokes to lighten up the class. Recommend this teacher.

Do well in the beginning and you can get an "A". She grades on a curve, and there are study guides for each tests that tell you where to find the answer. She drops your lowest test score if you take all 4 tests. Cool and funny teacher. Highly recommend.

You must go to class to pass or know someone who will go to class and let you copy their notes. Majority of the nformation on the test comes from the lecture. Tests are not easy or hard but if you use the study guides as an out line you will do just fine.

All I have to say is that she is a terrific professor. Dr. Ashlyn is so interested in your sucess and is willing to go to any length to get you to learn and understand the material. There are 4 exams all multiple choice and she drops the lowest score. Oh and by the way what does her sex have to do with it? How rude!!! V

Dr. Ashlyn is an awesome teacher. She gives you the essay questions ahead of time so you know what to write for the essay part of her tests, and for the multiple choice, she gives you study guides. Go to all of her lectures. 4 tests (including comprehensive final), can drop the lowest test (even if it is the final) and mostly lecture based. Grades on a curve. Awesome teacher, very clear and fun. Would highly recommend.

Not hard!!! Read and ace the tests, drop the lowest test score out of 4. Those are the only grades. :)

I've taken both of her classes. The subject matter for 340 is just boring. The 351 class is fun. Regardless, both classes consist of only 4 tests (allowed to drop one including the final). She gives you a study guide for each test and best of all no papers. Also grades on a "friendly" curve. Only idiots will pass on this opportunity.

Prof. Ashlyn provides all the essay questions online and a practice mult choice, both with answers (some additional ques. are asked) all you have to do is study them. she also allows you to drop one test and grades on a very friendly curve.

the way in which she teaches this very interesting subject is just plain BORING. the concepts get confusing due to the same kind of BORING presentation. but one of the nicest teachers ive ever had. take someone else if you have the chance though.

Are you kidding me with the comments? This class is way easy! She practically gives you the test answers before you take them. Just do the study guides and you'll be fine. I didn't even go to any of her lectures and still got a high grade. Cool Teacher!

Pretty easy class if you know how to study for it. She provides study guides and previous years' exams on her website. Print these out! Answer the sample questions given on the study guide completely WHILE taking notes -- some of these WILL be on the real test. Take the sample test before the actual exam, it's a huge help. Curves grades generously.

Class is interesting, review notes and read book. i t will help during essay questions for tests. As long as you study what is required for the test you should be ok. i got an A. its a fun and interesting class.

I loved her! She was clear and precise. Gave studyguides for exams and drops the lowest score. It was interesting to learn and it was only one day a week. I loved taking her class. I would recommend it to anyone even if you don't need it. You learn a lot about yourself

Very witty. I admire her/his effort to make such a boring subject interesting. Speaks very well; does not mumble. Don't have to come to class, but you should because she/he blazes through a lot of material, and reading the text wouldn't help. In fact, don't buy it at all. Tests based on lectures. Those required to take this class should take her.

Overall a good class. Teacher explains topics fairl clear. She does explain a hard subject much easier. 3 test, final is optional. No papers. "Nicki Hayden is god."

Counts 3 out of 4 tests. No papers. Great curve. Gives good study guides. Some of the test material is from lecture, so its worth going plus she is a good lecturer. If questions she will help. Plan to take her again.

Class is not mandatory but if you go it will make the tests so much easier. She clarifies subjects really well and has great examples. The study guide is always available online so bring that with to class so you know what to pay special attention to. 3 tests and 1 final but you can drop the lowest. ashlyn's class is based on 4 tests, thats it. lecture and tests. gives study guides which are helpful, and prior exams to study off of. only thing about the class, is she tends to go a bit fast. you can drop your final if you do good on your 1st three tests. highly recommend!

SO EASY! i crammed for all 3 tests in four hours the day of...and pulled off an A. she curves practically a full letter grade. lectures are extremely boring though and it is hard to stay awake. i recommend her for an easy A but not if you are looking to really enhance your knowledge for psych.

I took this class thinking it was going to be really interesting but Ashlyn was just boring. Not only that but as stated before the study guides she gives for tests are general and she wants you to the know the really specific stuff. That is why everyones grades are so bad there is a full letter grade curve. I wouldn't recommend this class.

Anyone who says bad things about this professor is a huge baby. I went to class ONLY to take the tests and pulled off an A. If you got a bad grade it is your own fault. She gives you a study guide for each exam- AND drops the lowest grade- AND the exams are curved. What more can she do to hand out the A's???

i don't know what you people are talking about. i just finished taking her course OVER THE SUMMER and i thought it was one of my easiest upper division classes at state. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE WAY SHE CURVES HER GRADES! she is very fair and you dont need to come to class. i would def take her.

Very helpful & wants you to do well. You'd have to be an idiot not to do well in the class. I'd love to take a class from her again.

dr. ashlyn is a good teacher. although she is soft spoken, she teaches things very well. pay attention to experiments & examples. take good notes. she has sample exams & study guide for all exams! she curves alot & drops the lowest test score, including the final. i took her class this summer, i did good,& i didn't have to take the final. take her!

Peace of cake. Easy essay questions, just make sure to study the rest of the material a day or two before and its not hard at all. Late every week, but often made jokes to try to wake up the class with her witty humor. Friendly curve as well. Everyone usually went home after the break after the 1st half of the class.

Prof Ashlyn's tests are pretty easy, just make sure you use the study guides and you'll do fine. Attendance isn't mandatory but it wouldn't hurt to go. She is funny and witty, but I wouldn't suggest her if you are a conservative with no sense of humor.

honestly,this is the easiest class.i hardly went to class but studied for the exams the night before,sometimes 2, and got over a 95%.the curve is extremely generous and i cannot conceive how anyone could say this is a difficult class(i'm def not a straight A student)however,lectures are pretty boring;notes on BB.4 exams drops lowest

Had trouble with the class, she was great with email and helping me after class. Lecture class format...study and take scantron tests.

The key to this class is being able to have the entire study guide filled out and memorized for the test. The tests have multiple choice and then a few short answers. The short answers are provided ahead of time. One grade is dropped so don't stress. Take the final though because it was probably the easiest of the four.

Make sure to attend class because she give a lot of her exam questions there. Take good notes. Her powerpoints are on her website so it's easy to print those out and bring to class to take notes. There are detailed study guides and practice tests for exams.

I took 351 last semester and it was okay. Messed up the first test but ended up getting an A because of the HUGE curves on the tests, and she drops your worst. Nice lady; helpful, understanding and tries to help the class along w/ jokes and great examples of what she's talking about (usually from experience). Use the study guides, you'll do fine

A funny teacher, made me laugh a few times. Tests can be a bit tough but her curve is amazingly huge so just study up prior to the exams and you should do fine. There are 4 tests, but she drops the lowest exam score, so the final can be optional. I would reccommend her for personality psych if you're going to take it.

I suck at Psychology, but Professor Ashlyn made the class interesting. For some, her class was boring, but I guess it depends on the students. For me, her class was not boring at all. She was funny in a very cute way. I recommend taking her.

EASY class! 4 exams, get to drop one, no mandatory final. provides study guides which pretty much is the test. has a ridiculous curve!!! if you get a c on an exam with the curve its an a. so take this! and she is hilarious!

Easy class. she is a little disorganized and tends to be late. lectures are ok, just try not to take the class so late, like 700pm... it will make it seem longer and she doesn't like to leave early. attendance isn't mandatory but the book is very important for the study guides.

She's long winded, but at least you'll understand stuff. Uses same format for all classes: Take four tests, only counts the three best :-D

She's pretty straight forward. Can get kind of side tracked in lecturing, but at least you end up with a hell of a lot of info about one subject

I took Professor Ashlyn in the spring semester and she is really a good teacher. She is clear as can be. If you had any sense, go to class and fill out the study guide and you can ace the tests. You would have to try really hard to get a bad grade from her.

Teacher can ramble on a bit and fade, so sit in front to listen. Pretty straight forward class. Teaches primarily through PPT slides which are direct regurgitation from book. 3 Midterms + Final, and drop 1 test & Generous curve. BE SURE TO READ THE TEXT BOOK to get a decent grade, and just don't rely on study guides!
