Professor Vance is an awesome educator. He is extremely helpful, smart, professional and a world class scholar. After taking his class, I was prepared to study at Harvard University.

Professor Vance is an awesome educator. He shares freely with all of his students. After taking his class, I am able to write scholar, conduct research and use MLA style of writing as a college student! I am happy that I took his class.

Professor Vance is the best!

He gives too much assignment, he will work you real good but aside that, you will enjoy his class. Do not take his class if you are a really busy person. Also, you have to know your MLA & APA format well

class was neither easy or hard. he let us choose our writing topics throughout the semester, which was cool

Great class! Excellent Professor! Online class had extremely clear directions, which is half the battle. You will always get feedback from him, so it will help you adjust to meet his standards and he will work with you if you have a real problem.

He is strict but fair. If you follow his instructions there is no way you cannot pass his class.

I loved this class. Professor Vance provided all of the work in advance and provided an example for each task. Wow! The class was great. I just need to learned MLA!

English 200 was a wonderful experience for me as student. I read new materials which allowed me to grow as a student. I was just surprised how many students were allowed to register for this class who did not have the basic writing foundation. The professor was simply awesome!

Professor Vance is a cool educator. He makes learning fun and enjoyable. I was afraid to take the class, but Professor Vance met with me weekly to ensure that I would learn and do well in the class. I only wish that I met him 20 years ago. Good teacher!

I took Humanities 202 and I was prepared as a writer, but I can say that the professor really helped me. He was nice and willing to provide me with the needed help when I took the time to meet with. As a returning adult student who is much older, I was afraid to take English 102. The professor took time to help me with understanding and learning the research process. I learned so much information. I am happy I took the class and the professor is really helpful.

One of the best professors that I had. I am was sorely disappointed when I saw how my classmates were unable to master the learning materials because of their poor writing skills, but I noticed that the same student wrote a negative comment on this forum using the library. Wow! She should re-take the English 101 before taking the Hum 202.

Where was this professor five years ago? I need to have more teachers like him. Helpful and nice! He is available when I need. I was welcome to stop by to visit if I needed additional help. This was my best learning experience.

The professor is available. He provides online conference calls to help students with their work. I am learning a lot. I wish my classmate (Ayodele Adisa) would stop sharing false information about the professor on this site. This is college and students should be prepared to work and have an open mind about learning.

I love reading and I love English 200 with Professor Vance. He is one professor who makes learning enjoyable. I really loved how he used the Teleconference for his online students! Wonderful class!

As a second semester college student, I am happy that I enrolled in HUM 202. The professor was available, helpful and encouraging. I learned a lot of new information. Great class and the text book was interesting. I only wish there were more professors who cared about helping students. I would encourage students to lean MLA.

I took his online class. Online classes are hard, but he is a great teacher. Good communication, very respectful, and willing to work with the individual students. His class is not easy, it is demanding and you will gain from it. If you must take online, I definitely recommend Professor Vance.

As a senior citizen, I decided to attend college after many years and found that writing was a challenge for me. I was one who needed a lot attention and support from my professors. This professor was great. He met with me weekly during his officer hours and explained to me what I needed to do in order to complete my assignments. I loved the class.

I took the first English course at another community college that failed to prepare me for English 102. Professor Vance took his time during his office hours to help me learn the research process. Wow! He saved my life. He really loves working with students. Just be ready learn, read, write and work!

I was not prepared for the class, but the professor provided late evening phone conferences which helped to me to grow as a student. I learned how to use MLA and how to use the Academic Database when conducting research. Good class. I would encourage students to plan a working schedule when enrolling in the class.

After all this is college and no one is there to just give a grade because you paid for the class. Great professor! Professor Vance is an amazing instructor! He is always fair and gives his students the opportunity to be successful. The only way that you can fail is if you do not follow directions and careless. Be proactive and if you need help just ask.

Coming back to college years later, English 102 was a good class for me with Professor Vance. I learned so much and I am better thinker and writer because of him. My time in the class was a life changing experience. Professor Vance is the best just be ready to learn, work and use MLA.

Just finishing ENG 102 in May and I am still in shock. Professor Vance is an amazing professor who is not recognized at Baltimore City Community College. He goes the extra mile. I had a three deaths in my family and he worked me over the phone and on the weekends so I could complete the class. I am better today because of him. Thanks for caring!

I took a class with Prof. Vance and I was focused and I missed a lot of classes, but he called me and wrote me a letter encouraging me to stay in school. Really, I could done better. He is a good teacher. More teachers should care about their students.

He created the class so that I could use the Net Tutor that helped me with tutoring. Good class. I only wished I could take one of his classes at the college. Wonderful professor. Based on what I learned, I will graduate.

Being nervous about the research class, I was not sure if I was ready. After taking English 102 with Professor Vance and being responsible as a student, I learned so much. Yes, the class was challenging, but he made the class fun. I completed all of work on time and met with him during his office hours made the world of a difference.

I will share that if you take ENG 102 please make sure you have the time to do the reading, research and the writing. All students should use the Net Tutor Service which is free.

I had to re-take English 101 and I decided to take Prof. Vance's class. Good selection on my part. Being honest, I had to work and follow the directions carefully. He is organized and he has all of the assignments posted early so you can work ahead. I completed the class early. Thanks Prof. Vance for helping me to become a better student.

I simply followed the directions that were provided and I had no problems with passing the class. I like the fact Prof. Vance provides all of the work in advance. Good class, just follow the directions and you cannot go wrong. If you have a question send him a message and he will call you and discuss and share with you how to complete your work.

It is strange that people write that they got grades like D-, but BCCC does not give minus or plus grades to students. Take Prof. Vance's class and you will learned.

As a grandmother who took Professor Vance's class, I can say honestly that I learned a lot and the class so enjoyable.

He assigned a variety of assignments that offered students with different learning styles an opportunity to showcase their understanding of the material. Ex; collage, group project, writing assignments, in-class discussions. He shows up to class on time & has an engaging presence. The readings he selected were manageable in length and entertaining.

Professor Vance is a very knowledgeable person. If you come to class you will get a good grade. He will motivate you to do better and show up for yourself. The quizzes are easy but they are frequent so make sure you pay attention. Will work with you if you alert him properly.

You will learn in his class. Just read and follow directions.

I am not much of a writer, but Prof. Vance really helped me to understand that I can do better and reach my goals of being a business owner. At first I was not one who enjoyed reading and writing but he made the class fun and I am happy that I did not drop the class. He is a good teacher.
