I didnt do well on Acc100, but passed. Im not a Acct mayor, so I was worried bout taking 101. But Prof. Kang made the lectures very simple and actually I understood things clearly. Simple short tests, and will help u if ur in trouble!!!
this class is easy! His exams are formatted like the hw problems. He to start spill out his personaly philoposhpy about life during class, it can take up to one whole class meeting and most of the times have nothing to do with the acct.
Zzz Zzz. Don't take his night class! He will lecture about his meaning in life and blah blah blah for the whole three hours. The class is easy though and well organized.
Prof. Kang is a very nice guy, however, you will learn more about his personal life accomplishments than you will about the actual class subject. He gets off topic a lot because he likes to brag about what he has accomplished and what life means to him. Very easy class if you just want to pass.
He takes up the class time by talking about how great he thinks he is. This class is a waste of time. Don't take it!!! Someone should fire this guy!!
I definitely agree with what the others have said. You will learn more about his life and what he has achieved rather than actual accting. Everyone would get an A on a test if it was about his life. He spends about 75% of the class time talking about other things besides accting. Try to take another professor if possible.
Yes he does ramble about his life, a LOT! However, he explains well and if you're a logical thinker, you will totally understand him! His tests are very short and right off the hw assignments, except even shorter and more simplified than the hw. Put aside his ranting and raving, not hard to earn an A if pay attention to all the hw.
do not take him!! he just brags about himself the entire class period, you learn very little about accounting, and everything there is to know about him!
If your good in acct you will find him easy, however everything others have said is also true. If he decides you aren't good enough he doesn't want you in his class, IE he told me I only got A on some of my papers because everyone else did worse than me and I don't know math at all, I got a B in calc class though. He's not a vey good teacher.
I can't be too mad at Kang's class. Although, I only had to deal for 3-weeks during winter. I was worried about accounting, and Kang goes off topic most the lecture. it was fine with me since im not an acct major but if you need to know this stuff, dont take him. i got a B and his tests were easier than h/w. do-able class, but not your typical acco
Prof. Kang teaches ACCT 101 as if it was Prof. Kang 101. All he does is talk about himself such as how rich he is, how smart he is, etc. His tests are easy if you study, but be prepared to learn nothing in his lectures.
Worst CLASS in the history of SFSU.This teacher should be fired ASAP.He talks about himself the entire class, makes you feel like you are trapped, goes over class time every single class. You will learn all about this tiger loving, playboy reading, poet,S.korean man,,but nothing about AIS.The dean should try and sit in on one of his classes.
What the others said are completely true!! basically you have to read the book and teach yourself he teaches one problem per chapter and then boost about himself, he is the worst teacher i've even come across how is he still allowed to teach?? PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM!! unless you want to teach yourself and not come to class, it is ****..
how this man got 10 year i will never know. he is without a doubt the worst teacher i have ever had. he doesn't teach anything in class except his own life history and then expects you to know all kinds of information on the exams. his grading scale makes no sense, he doesn't "grade you down" he shows you where you need to be "graded up."
It isn't hard to pass this class but I felt like I had to teach myself because he rambles on about useless stuff. His tests are based on the homeworks. He grades very hard on the essays and homework though. It's an easy class to pass but I wouldn't suggest him.
his is the worst teacher that I have seen in SFSU. All others say are exactly right, every class he only teaches 1-2 powerpoint slides and use most of the time to talk about Korean and tigers. The worst thing is the first test is east and it only covers chapter 2-3, but the second test covers chapter 1 to 9, and you have to take it in two days.
I dont understand why SFSU HIRED HIM, he is unhelpful, and YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK. the fist test is easy, but the second is HARD because it covers nine chapters and 2 days test. His lecture is like this: the first 30 min he talk about himself and Korea, then about the topic but unclear and fast. overall, he will give a passing grade
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. He is very confusing, and when you finally thing you have something crystal clear, he changes it. Let me put it this way: I have never in my life gotten a grade below a B. After all these, years I barely passed this class. Just choose a different teacher. We have plenty of other great accounting teachers.
Easy class, though he is always out of topic. He grades pretty fair. How much u work is how much u get.
it is as if he is in another world and you are just watching him perform. he doesn't listen to the students he doesn't know how to grade his exams and is always having to readjust scores and still you come out below what you should have received. He doesn't make sense and can't clearly explain the problems. Horrible teacher!!!
He has got to be THE WORST teacher in the university. He spends 75% of the class time talking about himself and how he is so smar. He reads straight from the powerpoint and doesn't fully explain the concepts. Basically just study off the homework and you will pass the class. Getting an A or B will be hard.Don't expect to learn much from this class
STUDYSTUDYSTUDY and you'll be fine..lectures are painful....essays great...tests pretty hard..so know your stuff! You will learn a lot of life lessons from him!!
Yes, it is true that he spent most of the time to talk about himself. You have to study by reading the book. However, his power points are useful. Make sure you know how to do all the HW problems, follow the way that he does them in the power point, you will be ok. Exams and Eassy were not hard. If you really want to learn, don't take him
Yes!stupid teacher! You wouldn't learn anything from his class. He talks about himself a lot from the beginning to the end. and a good grade is not easy to get.just waste time. he is the most boring, stupid teacher i've ever seen.
The worst professor ever! You don't learn**** from this guy, but he loves caliming to be an amazing prof.,talks a lot about S.Korea!Hard grader, uninvolved, stupid, boring, meaningless! I can't believe he is a professor, he's an idiot! You feel stupid even sitting in class listening to his dumb ass
This guy does not teach anything. He just speaks about his experiences and tries to give students advice about what they need to do to be great at Accounting. Maybe if people stopped taking his class he would no longer work at SFSU. Dont get me wrong, this guy is very smart, but bad at teaching.
Its very true that this guy is totally in his own little world when he is lecturing. He tends to ignore questions if possible; however, he is a very easy grader. All that is required to pass his class is reading the book, no need to attend class, unless its a review section. Out of the acct teachers he ranks up there. (for acct teachers at least).
terrible Professor! I cannot remember one class where we learned something important. as others mention he doesn't teach during class, instead he tells what seems like fake stories about his life and tries to tie them into the discussion but it is extremely far stretched. When students ask him to get back on topic he ignores them.
This is for ACCT101. Today he spent 1/2 the class leading a Fitness and Nutrition seminar. Later, during a ppt slide defining technical acct terms, he manages to relate production costs to babies and the diffs btwn German, English, & Russian philosophy. We only have 5 wks to learn ACCT 101. I don't know abt you, but I didnt sign up for TAO 101.
Total narcissist. Terrible communicator. He spends a LOT of time talking about the 3 page research paper he wrote 25 yrs ago and more time describing how to write your 1-page essay. Unfortunately, he continuously contradicts himself and you end up with no idea what and how he wants you to write. He uses class time to grade and brags about it.
Did you see him high stepping in class today? Funniest thing ever. On Monday, watch him, when he's lecturing and totally into his babbling, he'll start high stepping. BTW, for those sitting in front, how can you handle it? The guy comes inches away from your face it seems, when he says "do you see it? you got it?"
"Bear is da slow and steady. Slow and steady is da bear. You must be like da bear. I am da bear. My nickname was bear. (He writes bear on the board.) That is the key. To be da slow and steady. Like da bear. So many beautiful ladies...female scholars. You are all scholars. You must think like da scholar." --- Seriously, he lectures just like this.
Oh boy. Apparently, professor Kang grades based on simplicity more than trying to actually understand what is written. On my paper, he indicates that a citation source is missing when that particular sentence was written in my own words and thinking. I guess if you want 100s on his paper, you really must make an effort to write down to his level.
For those of you who do attend class and frequent this site regularly, I hope you don't mind if I ask you to periodically update what's been going on in class. I'll give you "brownie" points if you do. Today, for once, he was useful. He passed back papers.
This guy is hilarious
You guys are being too hard on him. I learned a lot in this ACCT 101 class. I learned about fat bears, how to be a tiger & I developed a newfound appreciation for my coffee. I also learned how spend 50 minutes solving a simple equation that would otherwise take 50 seconds.
The previous poster is correct. He spent most of the class on a really simple problem. Yet he managed not to explain it to the students who didn't understand it. Instead he explained how smart he was b/c he got it right away. It was a REALLY EASY problem, but it would've taken a minute to explain it to someone who didn't get it. He never did.
I felt so confused today bc all he did was ramble and didnt even explain the problem we did in class. i feel like i leave the class more confused than i walked in. he says math is simple n laughs about it, but yet cant even explain the problem to those of us who didnt understand a word of what he said. HELP!!!!!!!!!!
I REALLY HATE THIS TEACHER, HE DOESN'T EXPLAIN THE MATERIALS AT ALL...IT'S A WASTE OF TIME ATTENDING HIS LECTURE, BUT HE GRADES ESSAY EASY, I WONDER IF HE REALLY SPENDS TIME ON READING THOSE ESSAYS..I HOPE THE MIDTERM WON'T BE HARD..HE EVEN ENCOURGE US TO GET COPIES OF QUIZ FROM PREVIOUS STUDENTS, WHAT ABOUT STUDENTS DON'T GET A COPY? THAT'S UNFAIR
Just like other reviewers below, I am in the same summer course as well. It is true, he lecture about his life more than the actual content of the course. I have to question myself, why do I know more about his life than acct 101?!?! I didn't pay my tuition to learn about some guys' life. BTW anyone got his past quizes??
I never go to class bc its pointless. Anyways its not like we do anything important, just learn about his life "Do you see it?" "Do you get it?" lol. does any one have his past tests?
Monday's routine: Enter class. Pick up exam and paper. Leave class.
Great dude, the Bear(Professor Kan)is awesome, he teaches what you need to know for acct 101 only, basic stuff, easy math, take him, good guy.
Really easy class... His promise to you: No one flunks my class... you would really have to try to get an F in here. He is a funny guy. But near the end of the semester you probably had enough. But if you have a good sense of humor maybe not and you take him 1 more semester like me lol.
he is an easy teacher .. 10 Pup quizs only count 7 of the highest them .. if u did everything wrong, u still can get 65/100. The class has 1000 points, but final was only 200 points with two questions.
He is a funny guy with great personality. Very easy to get a A.
This class was great! I was always afraid of ACCT but I took it in summer with Mr. Kang and pass it in just about 4 weeks. He is very different from other teachers (yes, he is a character!). Recommended!!!
You?ll be so confused and frustrated with his ACCT 703 class. Most of the student, or probably all, were so frustrated and irritated with him. He doesn?t know how to teach. However, he?s funny nice guy.
I agree with many of the comments and I regret ever taking accounting with him.He spends a lot of time on pointless tangents that dilutes any interest in taking his class. His tests are very hard and confusing.I wish mine and other people's comments actually affected his employment so he'd be replaced.Do your best and not take this class with Kang!
so many tales to tell, the only thing i learned is how to be a tiger. his lecture was pointless, he drew and wrote whole bunch of stuff in the board, and no one understood anything. Since you are in the near-bankrupt state studying, you dont hv any choice..the only thing you can do is to go to his class and have your mind in elsewhere.
I was the #1 tiger in his evening class this fall. The guy is like Yoda, he talks about smoking a Joint (some shen shen) to relax before the test, says to be a Tiger and some other incomprehensible stuff. I loved every minute of it. Got 100% on 3/4 tests. If you are nervous type or need to be walked through every concept, GTFO. Jay is hardcore!
Terrible teacher, expect to teach yourself if you take him because you won't learn a thing in class. The only point in showing up to class is to sign in but if you don't plan to show up have someone sign in for you, you'll need all the points you can get unless you're a really good self learner.
the worst instructor i have ever seen before. the power point is not helpful at all. the lectures are always off topic. all we learn in the class is about Tiger Woods. there are 4 exams and 1 final. the exams have 4 visions, but all the questions and numbers are different, so u r lucky, u can get easier one. dont waste time and money for it
withdrew from his class. He goes really fast through the chapters and expects you to read on and teach yourself. His tests are always graded differently. inconsistent.
He is absolutely incomprehensible, not due to his accent, but because he goes off on tangents about his life.If you ask a question, don't expect any kind of answer. If you take this class don't mention bowling, Tiger Woods or Billiards) because he will get off topic for (30mins - 1hr).He says the phrase "do you got it?" about 50-100 times per class.
Jai Kang has got to be the worse professor i've ever had the luck to have. I only go to class to sign in most of the time and then leave. The times that i do stay i stay because he is in the middle of telling a pretty interesting story. Get use to his stories. I honestly can say i've learned NOTHING from this man about accounting. I got a B.
I agree with many of the dissatisfied comments about Kang. He is a TERRIBLE teacher. He says "do you see it" so many times it makes you want to scream. He does not care if you "see it" or not, he actually ended a lecture with "or something like that". I would not recommend this teacher to anyone. He should not be allowed to teach.
Horrible teacher, I had to stop going to class because I couldn't handle it anymore. Most students failed every test dnd his lectures made no sense. Don't take this class!
I got an A but this class was not easy actually. If you do the assignments(not mandatory) he gives you a lot, you can get at least B or B- on the exam but if you do not want a lot of works, do not take this class. Attendance is not mandatory if you do not need a part of your grade for the attendance(10%).
He's actually an OK professor.I personally don't think he's that terrible as what many comments described. However he's just so narcissistic and keeps babbling about his own stories no matter there're audiences or not.He asks you to read books and do preview. If you rely on his lecture rather than reading books yourself, you'll flunk likely.
Took him over summer. His lectures are entirely useless. Just read the book and do HW and you'll do fine on the tests. His tests are actually easy, some questions are tricky though. If you need the book, I'm selling it. I also have the old tests. Contact [email protected]
YOU"LL KNOW WHEN YOU SHOULD GO TO CLASS. HE WILL EMAIL YOU ANSWERS TO HOMEWORK BEFORE THE TEST, ONLY THOSE KIND OF PROBLEMS ARE ON THE TEST. NO TRICKS, JUST SELF-TEACH FROM THE BOOK. KEEP ALL TESTS W/ GIVEN ANSWERS- THEY WILL BE AN EXACT COPY TO THE NEXT TEST & AFTER THAT ETC. WHO CARES HOW HE TEACHES- DO THE WORK YOU WILL PASS, PROMISE.
I can't believe this guy is allowed to teach. It's a miserable class to sit through. I only passed because I taught myself what I needed from the book. Do yourself a favor and don't take his class. And he spits so don't sit in the front 4 rows...
I'm sitting in this class now and we've sat here for over an hour with just his life story!!! Not even lecturing!!!!!!!! Where is the dean???
He never teaches in class, just keep talking his own experiences all the time. I totally can't stand him!
He is an awful professor. He expects you to read the book, but then teacher HIS way in class. Lectures are very boring & he spends most of the time talking about himself. When he actually teaches his lectures are hard to follow & the white boards make no sense. No notes on his exams. Worst class at SFSU. I've learned more from the book than him.
Seems like professors at SFSU have a hard time facing the truth. Nearly all of my ratings have been flagged, most likely by the profs themselves. Ill keep it simple this time. Kang is a professor to avoid at all costs. If the university ever cared to reevaluate their professors, please start with Kang.
Lectures are always about him talking about himself, how he used to be a rocket scientist and is really good at golf. Exams are straight from the homework problems he gives, so if you study the that, you will pass the class. But his lectures are completely worthless and a waste of time to attend. I passed but learned nothing. Avoid him if you can.
Jai Kang is a nice guy. He would use interesting stories as examples to illustrate the daily lessons. He basically made a really boring class less boring which is great.
He spends most of the time talking about useless stories. When he does lectures, there's no way you can understand him. However, you don't need to put much effort into this class and his exam questions are exactly the same as homework questions.
He is without a doubt the worst "professor" I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I didn't learn a single thing, in fact I felt like he was teaching the wrong methods in class. Who debits a negative number?! Glad that I only had him for the span of five weeks. I will be popping champagne once this misery is over.
Worst professor ever. Period. His notes on the board make no sense and no one has any idea what he is talking about. He goes off on random tangents that have nothing to do with the class. If you get this professor, make your textbook your best friend for the rest of the semester.
Professor Kang is a decent guy, but HORRIBLE teacher. I don't understand how he is still teaching?? Hasn't some higher up faculty member figured out that students go to his class just to sit and listen to his personal past stories/gibberish/nonsense? Board is a mess when he teaches which is rare, doens't answer questions, tests are hard, AVOID!!!!!
I don't know how I feel about Professor Kang. Professor Kang is a nice guy, but his lectures are tedious and mandatory. He would take roll before, and after class, and this was a two hours and 45 minute class (he would go over, and lecture for three hours). His requirements changed, assignments changed, and overall he is just not clear.
I have no idea what i learned in his class! He is a very nice guy but too smart to teach, yeah that's it. So smart his way is just not for the rest of us. AVOID him if you can. I regret having taken him because I had to self teach myself from a useless book!
I don't understand why people wrote bad comments about Prof Kang. Prof Kang is a really nice and funny guy, even though he talked a lot of stuff which are not related to the class material. Two papers, one midterm, and one final exam thats all. Don't skip class and end up saying he doesn't teach and didn't learn anything, it is your fault.
Do not ever take this class unless there is no more seats in community college
I have never had a teacher this terrible. I am a straight A student, and this class was ridiculous. He takes 2 hours to do a single problem on the board that should only take 20 seconds. I can never understand him. He refuses to use formulas. Tests throw curve balls Choose another teacher, I beg you. This man shouldn't teach! Learned nothing.
Jai Kang is very smart but a terrible teacher. He becomes frustrated when people ask questions and then he doesn't go over there question because he said he already went over that question. His lectures are mostly about his life in Korea or golf. He also won't stop talking about how you should act like a cat and don't act like a dog... so yeah
since day 1 I never understood him but I thought it was because the subject was hard, but than i noticed i still didn't know what was going on in class and i was there every monday for 3 hours just sitting lost. Wants work done his way not like book. talk about himself alot and gets off subject all the time
Worst teacher I've ever had at SFSU. He expects you to stay all three hours of class to talk about the material for maybe 20 minutes & the rest of the time talking about himself. Going to class is mandatory but most just sign the sign in sheet and leave. Very unclear, scattered. He's not helpful & plan to teach this course to yourself.
I passed ACCT 101. He is a good professor, he give you 60% of grade even you never do your homework. You don't need to go to the class since the attendence only have 10% of grade. Just study by yourself and try to find some previous exam from your friend and you will pass his class. All in all, easy class to pass in some cases.
Jai Kang has to be one of the nicest professors I've ever had. He brings snacks everyday for all his students, you can tell he clearly cares about his students. However, I do believe he was not meant to be a teacher. He spends most of the lecture time rambling about things not pertaining to the subject. If you can self teach class is an easy A
I don't like him at first, his lectures are mostly about his life, not accounting. However, he is the nicest professor I have met. He brings snacks, he lets you retake the midterm, put off deadlines, and he is a generous grader... You can see he really wants everyone to pass and tries his best to help us. I won't mind take his class again.
He is super sweet, nice, smart and he cares about his students. he will bring you snacks, let you re take midterms and gives you extra credit. BUT He is not good at teaching, be ready to read the book and learn the material by yourself.. He spends 20mns taking about accounting and like 2 hours talking of irrelevant stuff.
Love Jai King. The Best Professor Ever. Easy A!
Nicest professor ever, retake midterm, brings you snacks. Not the best teacher, but he is smart. Didn't understand a single concept the way he was teaching, so prepare to read the book and learn yourself. Ppl tend to leave early, but he has these inclass assignments w/ answers in the book for extra credit. talks about himself for half the class
not a good teacher at all. please do not take his class if there is another option. does not teach and won't attend is office hours even when he has set times to meet up with students. I took him because I had to.
If I was dying and I had one minute left. I would spend it in this class because class feels like an eternity...
He really isn't the greatest teacher tbh, he's really nice, but get ready to waste a lot of your time in this class or just do other hw because he goes off topic more than half the time. Takes attendance sometimes twice. Super easy class to pass though. Some easy in class assignments. Tests same as mock tests. Let's you retake them.
Jai Kang is a special case. I have gotten nothing less than an A in international accounting and cost. tests are very fair; no surprises. Some are exactly the same or similar in the book. Cost accounting you can use your computer to take exams. Yes, his lectures are tedious and tangenty, but I dont get why he gets negative reviews on here.
If you take this, you will probably pass. He is a smart man and you can learn a-lot from his work ethic and knowledge. Take it if you do not want to stress.
easy A as long as you do all the homework and completely do his mock tests. All of the test are either the exact mock test questions or exact homework problems. He does talk a lot and you'll never get out early. You have to show up especially since you need to turn in the homework.
Dr. Kang is a bit eccentric and his lectures tend to get off track. Just ask course related questions to get him to refocus. He's funny and caring. His midterm & final are/nearly identical to the mock tests. The 2 exams & HW (answers in book/slides) are all you're graded on. Easy A.
Prof is knowledge, but goes offtrack. Super easy class though. 2 midterms 1 final and in class easy quizzes. He is very boring though.
stay away of him please, take an other one.
Professor Kang is a rude professor who does not even do the bare minimum of teaching. He goes on millions of tangents, and asking him for help feels like speaking to a wall. Do yourself a favor and avoid this guy.
I was kicked out of class permanently because I had a B after the first exam. It is all good, I got in another section and am very happy in the class. Not allowing me to take his class was the best thing Professor Kang has even done for a student. Don't take this class if you want your schedule to be thrown in the garbage bin for six months.
Hilarious is an understatement. Jai Kang is an amazing man. If you want to get an A be prepared to work your butt off, yet getting a C is almost guaranteed. If you just need to pass a class take Jai Kang.
Jai Kang is a nice person in general. He cares about his students and will take extra time if students need. The problem is, he is not a great professor. He will go off tangent for the majority of the class. If you want to actually learn about accounting, just read the book and avoid him like the plague.
Amazing, if you show up you will pass.
Not a good professor at all. He will always go off tangent and you won't learn anything in the class.
He's a nice guy but not a great professor. He will spend 95% of the time in class going on tangents out of a 2 hours and 45 minutes class. If you plan to stay, then prepare to self teach the entire semester.
This was one of the worst classes I took, and he would always talk about himself the whole 3 hours. I remember looking up from my phone and seeing everyone on their phones not listening to him. But, as long as you understand the content and his formatting of his tests(do the mock tests) you'll do fine. I honesty ended up with an A bc I self studied
This professor is in another dimension of his own that not even students in this dimension can understand him. He will ramble for 2 hrs 40 mins out of 2 hrs 45 mins about his life and other nonsensical things and only spend at most 5 mins about accounting. So be prepared to self teach and study.
Jai Kang spends almost all of the time in class going on a tangent and barely goes through accounting materials. He can be rude, cryptic, and condescending when you try to approach him. You rather take someone else and don't mention him as your last resort. It's that bad.
The guy has to be the most confusing professor I have ever had ever. He acts as if he is a millionaire and we are all stupid if we dont understand him when he teaches from his notes. Not even the book? He is honestly a big Time tiger. Hate to love him but just trying to get that A!
Jai Kang is probably the worst professor in SFSU. Kang acts as if he's the smartest person on Earth and everyone around him is stupid. He confusing, disorganized, and rambles about everything besides accounting. But when he teaches, which rarely happens, he over-complicates a 1 minute problem into a 1 to 2 hour problem.
He forgot we had a test one time and we got to take it home. Be prepared to fail if you don't embrace your inner tiger. Nice dude tho he gives hella opportunities to make up for missed assignments.
Kind and caring professor. Had a three hour class with him and he did his best to keep his introductory accounting class interesting. The students were very disrespectful to him, as he repeats himself a bit and gives very detailed explanations to simple problems. Overall lots of quality instruction and opportunities to improve your grade.
Worst class I've ever been in, DO NOT enroll in this course. Haven't understood a single one of his lectures, have taught myself everything. Complete waste of time.
Good professor. has a lot of good wisdom to share. he is also more than fair to his students. I wish you well, professor kang.
Professor Kang was ok. Most lectures were boring and didn't give much insight on how to excel in the class. You have to teach yourself or else you'll fall behind. However, the grading criteria was clear and straightforward. Take a different professor if you have the opportunity to!
Utilize every extra credit point possible. He uses Wiley and the platform gives amazing videos on concepts. Do not expect to create Excel spreadsheets and do the work for you during the exam. You must understand the concepts. The best advice is to watch the supplementary videos from Wiley and read the book.
The professor gives very informational insight to the class; if you have some real-world experience, the class is enjoyable because it explains the concept of different subjects in business& accounting. His explanation to things as he applies real-life sample. The lecture is a bit heavy. The exam is online and is a half-and-half learning style.
his class was easy but every lecture would be 20% actual class material and 80% him just talking about himself. it made the lecture times seem so pointless, it made me question why i was even attending his lectures. other than that hes whatever.
I had Professor Kan going into my third year at sf state. He is hands down the best professor I have had. He cares a lot about the students doing well and takes the time out of his day to ensure this. His grading criteria is straight forward and explains his materials very well.
worst professor in sfsu
Great guy. Super hard class though so make sure to spend off time learning the basics of accounting.
Did an actual lecture about 5 times. He talks about himself & expects students to read before class (we cover about 1-2 ch/wk). When we ask about the class & projects, he tells us to read the syllabus (which is very confusing itself bc what he has on there does not reflect on what he has on Canvas). don't recommend unless you can teach yourself.
He kinda talks alot in class it gets very boring. Not a lot of homework but it does get more challenging throughout the semester. If you put in the effort and do HW assignments and exams you'll pass. Overall good professor
Please do not take this professor unless you don't have any other choice. He didn't give us a single lecture. Instead, he went on solving homework problems. Unfortunately, this approach left many students struggling, as we hadn't been taught the concepts required for those homework problems. If you ask him any question, be ready to get yelled at.
First day of class Mr.Kang just talked about himself and never really teached anything for the first week of classes. Mention he a fantastic tutor/teacher but doesn't really show it. Doesn't explain the homework and you have to do the homework yourself. Do not recommend.
Worst professor for Accounting. If you can avoid his class, avoid his class. If you are doing homework online on the date it is due, and the site goes down, he will NOT extend anything. He does not teach anything. All he does is play solution videos from the site during class time.
Worst professor at SFSU teacher! Do NOT take his class if you have any other options. He teaches nothing but talks about how successful his past experiences were. Whenever you ask questions, he will be acting crazy like yelling at you to check out the syllabus! He always shows a manner toward others as if they owe him something.
Do not take this professor!! He barely teaches anything during class time and instead talks about himself and his time in college. He claims to want to "help" his students, but anytime you ask a question, he yells at you and essentially tells you to figure it out yourself. Save yourself; this class is a headache.
Professor Kang is hit-or-miss. The lectures can be unfocused, but he shares valuable insights. To succeed, read the textbook, utilize extra credit, and try unstuckstudy for efficient study prep. With effort, the class is manageable.
Professor Kang is a mid professor. He just keeps going on and on about things unrelated to the class. He is very unforgiving if you miss a homework even though it was Wiley's fault for crashing and not yours. I would definitely stay away and choose another professor.
Every bad review you see is true. He will waste class time and yell at people to turn their cameras on. We just sit here here and listen to him rant about nothing related to accounting. Did you know he passed the CPA exam without studying? He told us just about 10 times and it is only the first week of class. AVOID
Professor didn't really teach, all he does is go over some homework. If you ever have any questions regarding the material, he will yell at you and make it seem like it's your fault.
Do not take. He is strict and only lectures about himself. He will show solution videos but never explains anything further. If a different professor is teaching the same course, I would take them instead.
This professor is approachable and supportive, helping create a positive and welcoming learning environment. He offers extra credit opportunities for students aiming for high achievement. However, some announcements and resources appear outdated from previous semesters.
