He does a marvelous job at making the class fair. He makes the work simple and the class easy with his fair style. A must take.
I guess he's a good teacher, but i didnt do That well because you tend to take him for granted. He is easy if you do the work and keep up. Wants insight from students, and tends to be boring because hes not that powerful of a speaker.
Great Guy, pay attention to ppt slides when exam comes. very easy grading policy. he requires 1 article (presentation) and a group project.
Reads straight from his power points, which are always unclear. I have no idea why he even bothers to come to class because we can all just read the slides and be done with it. Though I must give it to him that he is very understanding and easy-going, so I am taking him for Statistics.
study straight from the power points. two group projects- one presentation, one paper. very boring but easy grader
He is a good professor. Gives EZ tests but you have to study a lot specially the powerpoint slides.
Boring lectures but helpful professor. Try to accommodate students' needs. Fair exams and give good review.
He wasn't bad at all. He gives very easy homeworks which come straight from the class lectures and accound for 25% of your grade. He can be boring but the topic isnt the most interesting to begin with. His test are fair but make sure you study. Should be an easy A or B if you do all the homework and pay attention in class.
His lectures are boring and at the speed of light. But he is a most helpful and nice professor. He goes out of his way to make sure that you understand the material and to help you with your questions. Very dedicated and considerate of students' needs. Thank God he is the only one teaching this class.
Not the easiest class but he is really nice and tries to make the class simple. He is definitely worth taking.
i actually enjoyed this class. i thought it would be hard but realized that it wasnt. he spends a lot a time on topics he feels are hard to grasp. ie, he'll give one lecture to explain the material and then the next to do practice questions. he is a very helpful professor.
not an easy class, lots of material covered, and very detailed exams are given. but he's really nice, very respectful and tries to help as much as possible, sweet guy.
His Psy exam are detailed. Study Your Power Point and you will be fine. I brought his book never open it. If you talk in his class he will threaten to fail you . JUST REMEMBER HIS TEST IS VERY DETAILED!!! Also, try not to be absent.
Ubelievably caring prof. The material is HARD but he makes it seem like a piece of cake because of his teaching methods. Dont miss a class and you are sure to do very well. He gives help up the ying-yang and never says no if you ask him to review something. Gave review sessions b4 all exams. Take him. He's amazing. Very knowledgeable.
He is very nice and is devoted to the class but unforunately he cannot teach and he gives very hard exams with no curve. He basically reads off almost 30 pages of slides that are all over a paragraph long. So if you enjoy that kind of teaching style then by all means take his class
very caring prof that takes into account the suggestions of the class. only midterm and final which are very easy if you read the powerpoint slides. One mandatory group project about an article of your liking and a group paper at the end of the class. if you like the subject then i recommend this prof
One of the best professors I had. Can take a hard subject and break it down easily so a lot of students understand it. Review sessions were helpful. Tests were not too hard, not too easy. Very lenient when it comes to homework. RECOMMENDED!
I DO NOT RECCOMMEND him...He has heavy accent and boring tone... His exam contains five parts and detailed..He gives low grade for unclearity and should not be teaching..He gives out long powerpoint for you read..
one of my favorite professors!! you need to come to every class in order to do well- he makes stats really simple, i was really nervous for the class and i got an A! also he gives extra credit which really helps
Good Professor. Just do the homework and read the text book. No need for notes as he uses power points. Easy A!
NICE GUY!
Very nice professor. He tries to make the class understand the work. he comes prepared everyday. gives extra credit on exams and finals and very approachable for help. he has a accent but easy to understand.
Didn't like the material, but he tried hard to help the students understand it. Very nice, and always left nice comments on our exams. Very fair grader.
I definitely recommend him. He makes the subject easy and he is always available if you're having trouble with something. He's also a very lenient grader when it comes to homework. I appreciated the fact that he asked the students if his teaching style was working for us. (Not many professors care) Take him!
He is a very nice guy and really wants you to do well. There's one group presentation and paper, midterm and final. Lots of power points but they are very straightforward. Recommended.
don't need to buy textbook just refer to his powerpoints..1 midterm, 1 final, 1 presentation, 1 group 10 pg paper...exam can be hard; it's the detail that you need to be extremely careful with...has tru/false, multichoice, fill in blank, short answers in which u can choose from....study the powerpoint!!! i would say i learned a lot; take him
He's a great teacher! I took stat for social sciences with him. I used to hate statistics and know I like it because thanks to him, I finally understand the subject.
Had him for statistics. He was a great professor! Pretty easy A if you do all the HW and do well on the tests. 1 Midterm 1 Final, a few homeworks but homework is 25% of grade so that's REALLY good. Gives extra credit group assignments. Easy points!
Great professor, understands the students. Just reads the slides and gives the tests exactly from them.
Very nice and friendly, not very strict on lateness, fairly easy grader, lectures were pretty boring but tests were based directly off of lecture slides and some case studies that are presented by your classmates. one midterm, one final, one group presentation.
he is very nice, easy, and helpful.
Professor Park will help you undestand all the material necessary to pass the class. He literally spoon feeds you the information. He is a very sweet man and cares about his students passing.
He is very nice and helpful. Explains the material clearly, which makes it easy to do well on his exams. Take him!
He is very easy as long as you go over his power point before the exams. One group presentation. He is really lenient.
Prof. Park made stat class painless. I suggest to take him for summer session; it's easier to learn the material and not to have big gaps btw classes. Easy A if you listen him and then go through PP slides. Do your HW as well, as it will be the same types of Q on the midterm and final.
Professor Park is a very easy but very nice teacher. Even if it gets hard to pay attention to his lectures, you always leave with new knowledge. His midterm and final count as a lot, but are very easy, and he offers extra credit. Show up to class, study for his two tests, and you'll do great. I would take him again.
Clear and understandable. Not stressful at all. Tries to make his classes interactive. Extra credit. Open-book final.
Very easy class, would highly recommend if your other courses have a lot of work. His midterm and final were the only tests, but they were both open-notes. You may be disappointed if you're looking for an interactive and in-depth psych class but he definitely tries to make it as interesting as possible.
I LOVE THIS MAN! He gives you a lot of breaks and is very clear in his teaching. A bad grade is totally on you. I'm not even done with this semester but I had to write this.
Professor Park is one of the nicest professors at Baruch. As long as you pay attention, take notes, and ask for clarification when needed, you will thrive in his class. If you are confused on a topic, he will take the time to clear up any uncertainty. Professor Park makes STAT 2100 an enjoyable course.
I loved this class. He made stats easy for me
Extremely easy class. The only tests are midterm + final. There were 5 point extra credit class assignments for each test, plus extra credit problems on the exams. He seemed to be strict on the first day, but he is lenient and very nice. Only 6 homework assignments in the semester.
Amazing professor! Extremely helpful - you can really tell that he wants his students to do well. Extremely fair, and tells you exactly what you have to study. Wish every professor was like him.
Clear, straight to the point. Absolutely no fluff in his style of teaching. He is an expert at what he teaches, and he explains concepts in a way that everyone is capable of understanding. Takes notes, and let Professor Park do his magic.
Definitely recommend him. He is an expert in what he teaches but is an easy grader. He truly cares about the students and the grades they get. The exams are straight off the slides, no textbook needed. Just stay in communication with him and you're golden.
Great prof. Everything was communicated to us clearly and the material was taught step by step. Pay attention and you'll do great.
Not exactly a fair grader or good at assisting students
based off the reviews he seemed great but gosh in person it was a different person. he made me want to drop the class that's how bad it was
Summer 4 week online course, All material was straight forward, 2 pg article summary every week, one midterm & one 10 pg paper. However he posted the paper instructions to BB 10 days before class ended. To me that wasn't ample time to write a 10 page paper since I do work full time. Besides that this was an easy class, lenient grader.
Powerpoints are impossible to understand and annoying because it is a voice over for each slide and the slides are glitchy. Useless class and professor to be honest.
Professor Park was by far one of the best professors I've had. He is very straightforward with grading and his lessons are organized and clear. He gave two tests and 6 homework assignments for the semester. Everything is covered in his powerpoints and I learned a lot. 2 hours is not enough for his tests but I recommend the class and the professor.
This is an online class. My only concern was that you only had 2 hours to do the exams, from the time you download it from blackboard to the time you upload it to blackboard. I think 2 hours wasn't enough and had to rush with no time to check my work, but I am not sure if the exams are actually timed or not. However, he is a very lenient grader.
His tests did not give enough time & technique to submit it was flawed. This is the only class I had a tough time with during this period of online transitioning, although his teaching in person was good. Lectures became difficult to follow as this was a practical course and still he was not lenient with grading regardless of the situation.
Weekly assignments are boring and graded rather harshly; when he says to summarize - what he really means to write out every detail of each 12-page experiment. Always critiques on the smallest of details and your grades suffer because of that. He tries to make things simpler but it ends up just complicating everything.
His voice overs on slides doesn't help much. You get about 6 homeworks, and the midterm and final are worth ALOT. He doesn't allow you to use outside help, ONLY THE TEXTBOOK. He says the textbook is optional but it's basically mandatory if you want to pass the class. Lessons before the midterm were a bit easier, after that it gets more complicated.
2 non cumulative exams with occasional weekly summary of articles. Easy A if you listen to the lectures but the lectures may be boring. PS: you have to be very in depth with the article summaries.
One of the worst professors I have ever taken in college. Course was extremely difficult and impossible to understand. Says you don't need textbook but without it you're pretty much beat. Very tough grader and takes points off every tiny thing. Don't listen to the reviews below. This is one of the worst classes you'll ever take. Make my words.
Insanely difficult course. I am not sure why he is teaching Stat2100 his own difficult way. Midterm and Final were insanely hard and gives NO time at all for them. You are pretty much rushed to fail in this class. Be careful with this professor. One of the worst!
Not a good course for the winter. Very difficult class, work is almost impossible and the test are not properly timed. Dont do it to yourself. I studied my ass off and still did not have enough time for how much work each question is. This class is better suited for spring or fall. Professor was no help at all.
Worst professor, very lazy with his work and is VERY picky with everything he wants, you CANNOT use any other formula even if it is correct , you MUST follow the way he does things or youre done for. Not much time for exams and they are extremely difficult. Now I will not graduate because of this professor.
Extreamly horrible grader, this class was the most difficult class I have ever taken in college. I DO NOT recommend him for this course. Please do your self a favor and pick another professor.
Professor Park is honestly an okay professor. It's a fully online course and the best thing about him is that he is consistent. He doesn't change things up last minute. He curves midterms and finals and provides lots of extra credit opportunities for students. I flopped like two of my HW assignments and still managed an A. Just study his slides
There is a reason why he curves his grades. He makes this class more too difficult & accuses you of cheating or marks a lot of points off if you dont do the problems HIS way; will also belittle you too. Says you dont need the textbook, but his lectures are confusing so itll be hard to pass without it. Only plus is that hes responsive to emails
The WORST prof. I had during my Undergrad at Baruch (I would know bc I had him for my last semester.) As a senior slated to grad after the semester, this man was the bane of my existence. AVOID him at all costs, if you can't study his slides and HW answers and replicate what he does to a T. He grades to a mirror image of his own work.
Honestly one of the worst professors I have ever experienced. He truly is an intelligent individual, however, this is clearly overlooked by condescending attitude towards his students. Furthermore, in order to obtain a respectable grade - you must do an unbearable amount of work on assignment and tests. Do yourself a favor and avoid him!
6 hw assignments one mid-term, one final. Doesn't give enough time to finish the exams which leads to him curving the grade bc students can't pass. You can ONLY show work HIS way on the lecture slides, not the textbook and no tutors. Posted everything on time but HW was graded extremely harsh. 2 ways for extra credit that are added to exam grade
You have to do the work if you want to pass. He is a tough grader. If you are willing to do the work you will be fine. There are six home works. He shows how to do the home works step by step on the lecture slides (with audio). You can get a good grade if you just follow his instructions. He curves the exams too.
This isn't an easy class, especially if you're not a math person. Attend the lectures and go to office hours!! His office hours are very helpful. Midterm, final, and about 6 homework assignments. Gives a few extra credit opportunities too.
He understands the work, but his teaching style makes learning it complex. You have to follow the work from his slides and he does not want you to use the textbook eventhough it is explained simpler. 6 hw assignments & 2 opportunities for extra credit which youll need because his timed exams are too short but curved.
Professor Park was hands down one of my worst professors. He is the toughest grader and not helpful. Avoid him at all costs.
For the love of god, get the textbook. He says it's optional but his lectures are hard to follow, and while he posts the slides from his presentations online, there's no making sense of them if you forget too much about the concept. I can tell this guy is very smart and I respect him but if you're bad at math and need guidance (like me), avoid.
It's pretty discouraging that no matter how much you study, read the book, do practice problems, do hw, and do the lectures, you will likely not get above a B or B+. Questions on quizzes and exams are so confusing and sometimes do not match what we have learned. If math is not your strength, this class will be very tough for you.
The grading is quite harsh and there aren't many chances to boost your grade. It's gonna be extremely difficult to pass this class if you do badly on a few quizzes or on the midterm. The course material is made to be much harder than it should be, and the exam questions are 100x harder. SERIOUSLY do not take this class.
Professor Park is a caring and smart professor. He is a fast grader and replies fast to emails (within 24 hours). His exams are lengthy but not too difficult if you do the homework, review the practice questions, and read over his powerpoints. He gives curves on exams which is also very helpful.
Average professor for me. I took his class during the winter semester. Condensed from a regular semester, 2 article summaries and 3 exams. The articles were quite uninteresting and tedious to read. Exams were okay; using the given powerpoint slides will give you an advantage because the exams are open-notes.
Dr Park is an extremely intelligent person and has a PHD from Yale, but this means that he has extremely high standards. He will expect you to read hours of research papers, write 10+ paged essays and give you low grades on them, and gives tricky tests on hundreds of powerpoint slides. However, since his class is so hard, he gave us a 12 pt curve.
I personally do like him. However, BE PREPARED TO READ A LOT. Also be prepared to write a lot of essays. I took his Winter 2022 class; there were 3 essays in total including the final paper and an exam. All of this required you to read the 6 case studies. I like his class setup, but definitely not for everyone.
Do yourself a favor and drop this class do not take it if he is 'teaching'. He has little to 0 communication skills with students. He is rude and gives harsh words for your work instead of support. Yes he has a PHD, this does not make him socially intelligent. Nothing special about his class its mostly taken from the textbook. Please be wary!
Took this professor because people made it seem like it wouldnt be too bad. Every assignment is worth a big chunk of your grade. Six quizzes and the midterm (30%) and final (35%). If you arent doing well with one topic that one thing can ruin your grade and chance of passing. Open book but not every answer can be found on powerpoints.
Terrible.Seems like a nice guy but quizzes are insane.30 minutes for 15 questions it takes a couple of minutes to solve certain questions so it is unrealistic. Curved midterm grades cuz many got low grades or failed. Quiz grades fluctuate It is insanely hard to do well.Convinced those who do well spend 80% of their free time studying for this class
Lots of reading (textbook on archive-org). Assignments: 2 article summaries (you choose from 3 in each assignment). Midterm: mostly on lecture notes/recordings (its a hard exam but is curved 15 points; 5 = participation). Final paper: any topic of choice, run it by him before starting. About tough grading-- just follow ALL instructions explicitly.
Just finished this class with Professor Park and it was a doozy. Graded on 4 quizzes, a midterm and a final. The quizzes are based solely on articles that don't really help you to learn course content. Midterm and final weren't too bad, but you essentially have to teach everything to yourself. Overall, was not the best way to learn curriculum.
I respect him. He's smart and he tries his best. If you're not good at math, this class will be really tough. He does curve grades like the midterm, drops the lowest quiz score, and assigns extra credit assignments for the midterm and final. He is a good professor, the material is just difficult overall. A lot of the work requires memorization.
Professor isn't horrible, if you're not good at math don't worry. GET THE TEXTBOOK! The HW and quizzes are most of your grade so do them, show up to class and pay attention. Go to class on time, don't miss, this isn't a easy class so put the work in for a decent grade. Attend office hours after midterm, you might get more partial credit.
Prof. Park is a great professor in teaching stat. It's a tough subject, but he really helped me get through it. I think I wouldn't have completed it without his help. I felt he is strict about a few things, but is fair mostly. He really wants students do well in his class. Lots of practice questions were provided. I think I learned a lot. Take him
Professor Park is a nice and patient teacher. He really wanted to help student perform well. I struggled before the midterm, but was able to catch up. He gave many practice questions before the final. He also gave extra credit opportunities. it was really helpful. I like the way he teaches.
HIGHLY recommend him if PSY2100 is a core requirement. Material is difficult, but as long as you know where he asks his questions you'll be fine. Course is great even if you don't like math. Lecture notes, ppt slides, and HW questions provided: all top-notch. If online: quizzes and exams open-note, open-book!
i took professor park over the summer second session. we were graded on one article summary paper, one quiz, one midterm, and one six page final paper. the class is very material-dense and be prepared to READ. it's not an easy A. you definitely have to put in the work but as long as you try hard and understand the material you'll do well
An amazing course filled with such interesting topics. Weekly article summaries that would take me about 5 hrs to do. Seems like a lot of work but honestly wasn't awful because the topics were so engaging and thought-provoking. If you don't like reading, I wouldn't recommend taking this class. If you like psychology and forensics, I recommend.
Two summary article's - they have to be extremely detailed or else you won't have the best grade… One Exam - all multiple choice so it isn't too bad, you can refer to the slides and articles… 8 page paper w/ 5 journal or empirical articles - to be a short and fast paced course this is excessive. Genuinely the only thing I disliked about the course.
Second time taking him - my favorite professor at Baruch! Very detailed and open-book MCQ midterm, 2 + 1 extra-credit article summaries, 8-page research paper. His ppt slide voiceovers make the material fun to learn. VERY accessible and overall fair prof. This is an A for effort (not easy-A) class. Take Jai if you're attentive to details like him.
All he's given me throughout the semester were B's. I did everything he asked to get an A, and that's impossible to reach. What more details do you want from me? He wants things to be extremely detailed WHICH WAS DONE but that wasn't enough to him. How have I gotten A's in my other classes but this class I just somehow couldn't get an A? Ridiculous
Such a sweet man! Tests were exactly like what we practiced in class. Takes his time to review and meet all of the students needs! Reasonable workload as well. Take him!
Thank you very much! All the best!
I was interesting in the class topic, however, professor Park's classes weren't very stimulating. It was also difficult to communicate with him about projects. I personally enjoy taking notes so I did like note taking for this class but if that's not for you, be prepared to take lots of notes.
Summer session class which I enjoyed, & learned a lot in a short peiod of time. Expectations were clear & precise. Take notes of his lectures. We had a final paper, open-book quiz & midterm (which I was grateful for because there was a lot of info from the power points). Put in the work & more; you'll do great. I would definitely take him again.
Professor Park is such a sweet and genuine guy who wants everyone in his class to do their best. He makes you feel comfortable and understood when he knows math can be difficult. As someone who is not good at math, I always felt I could raise my hand or talk to him about it. Would highly recommend!
Took the class in the summer of 2025, and will take a course with him in the winter session. Prof. Park is a great professor. He outlines the course clearly. Lectures, readings, MC exam, and final paper. The workload is a lot, but if you put in the work you'll do great. I recommend him if you're willing to work for your grade.
nice professor
Statistics is a somewhat difficult course, however this professor truly cares about this subject and you can tell. The way he teaches helps you understand with ease, with the way his course structure is set up it's nearly impossible to fail or do bad in his class as long as you show up on time to all of the lessons. He's super nice, def recommend.
It was a good class till the final. He graded weirdly and took off points for no reason. Assignments were based on 6 quizzes, midterm, final. It was a easy class since it was online asych but grading seemed random and all over the place when it came to the final where you had to show work.
He'll literally not tell you what you need to do to earn a decent grade. Never accessible outside of class, and the DB posts actually matter-that tanked my grade! If you can take another prof, he ain't worth it.
