Honestly, he gives you a ton of reading but will tell you the parts you need to pay attention to, so you wont have to read it all. Taking notes in his class is hell because he never finishes a sentance, and jumps all over the place. He puts you to sleep, but i'm sure it could be alot worse. However he does tell you whats on test before hand.

He's a good person, he'll try to help you any way he can. However, taking GOOD notes with him is really hard because he never finishes what he is writing or saying. He'll write one word on the board and expect you to know what he is talking about. But not a hard class, just do your work and essays.

An absolutely awesome professor. He knows A LOT about history and is extremely passionate about what he teaches. I've never once been bored during his lectures. Read and take good notes. Thats it. Show up to class. It's mandatory and also...really easy Easy A if you do the work, and there really isn't much. Will definitely take the guy again

Find a different professor unless you're a history major honestly. Class consists of what can be described as babbling. Only 2 tests, a few quizzes & extra credit debates. You'll be lucky to see your quiz/tests back. He has the inability to use canvas which is pathetic and doesn't reply to emails. Lateness=1/2 a point. Shows little care for us.

Test Heavy is an understatement. He gives long tests that require you to basically write up to 5 essays. The tests are the only grades given for this course besides a last minute paper near finals week. You lose points if you are late although he often is. Canvas is not used so grades take long. Do yourself a favor and do not take this professor!

An easy A+ class as long as you study well. Willing to give away submitted notes, text on insta @sjunotes / notes consist of slide key points, textbook questions (you won't have to buy the textbook then), and explanations on why that answer is correct. We also have well articulated midterm/final exam review documents.

The class is lecture-heavy, so staying on top of the readings and slides is crucial. The tests cover a wide range of material, so using unstuck ai alongside other study resources like the textbook can really help with memorization. Overall, a challenging but doable class if you're willing to put in the work.

Do your self a favor if you care about your grades and DO NOT take him. He is by far the WORST professor I've had at St. John's. I had to withdraw from the class because of his lack of understanding for outside life and hardships. Test/quizzes are so hard and he is not reasonable when it comes to grading. Doesn't answer emails or upload grades.

3 exams 1 map quiz. Exams are short responses based on the topic of the study guide that he provides, just have the information memorized and take good notes. His slides aren't the best but his explanations go to good detail so just listen as you write what he says. Attendance on time for each class is 1 point and the project is a debate super easy

Go to class bc his slides don't make much sense (explains during lectures). The exams aren't easy. Theres a lot of memorizing to do. He's a tough grader in my opinion so make sure your responses in the exams are worded well. Please do the debate, plus 10 if you win. Never answers emails.

Professor spent the entire class talking straight from the slides. Doesn't make sure you understand anything he just spends the whole class period talking. He gives 3 tests and 1 map quiz but doesn't put the grades online. Extra credit debates don't go in until the last day of the semester. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER!!!

Although Dr. Rodriquez is passionate about history. He talks like he expects u to understand everything. For the honors HIS1000H, you only have two tests and get ready to study two weeks in advance for him. I did ok because I didnt mind taking notes. HIs lectures are super long and complicated, use ai to help you study pls. Good luck

Please do not take this professor. Mr. Rodriguez does not understand outside commitments and is unwilling to compromise. His exams are vaguely worded, and his review sheets are utterly useless. His review sheets consist of studying for two separate topics, in which one is randomly selected. If you care about your sanity, do not take him.
