He's funny and his class is interesting, you'll never fall asleep. He's very honest and knows a lot about geography. The tests are hard if you dont study, but theres extra credit.

great teacher, never boring...if u need help, go to him and he will help u alot. let him see your notes and he will basically give you the questions.

Easy to follow, lays the notes right out there for you to copy. flat out told us not to buy the book, he even reserved copies of it at the library for us. Hes funny and gets off topic. tests are hard though if you don't study.

Gives tests right from the notes. Hilarious as well. Also- in a 1:15 min course twice a week he lets you leave most of the time after about a half an hour! Excellent course for anyone to take

IF you're looking for a cool teacher and a G.P.A. boost then take this teacher. You'll learn the material and get great opportunities to get good grades.

Great teacher, COOL guy. Lets you call him JAKE. Class is both informative and easy (didnt do the final project & still got a B-), plus you actually learn important things, especially if you're a business major. TAKE JAKE!!

Jake is an awesome professor. he presents really interesting information and the tests are striaght from the notes. i learned so much in his class and got an A-.

lets u work w others on Take home midterm & final. Doesnt have much office hours and sometimes is not there. Class is really short most of the time.

I had to take this class for a Ged ed. and I wasn't to happy at first, but this class turned out to be my favorite. He is offensive yes, but I still thought he was funny. Class is always entertaining and the tests are straightforward, he doesn't trick you. Just review the notes and your cool. He's a really nice guy in person. I LOVED this class.

Jake's a cool guy - he has a lot of stupid guy comments, but you eventually see past that and see that he's a good teacher. He encourages discussion, working with others, and his tests are easy if you just review notes and book work.

Jake is very opinionated but a great guy. He has a very unique style of teaching that is very effective at teaching students the material. Highly recommend taking his class.

This class is fun, easy, hilarious, and straight-forward. However, do not take this class if you are offended easily, have AIDS, or are a prostitute.

Best professor I have had yet! Jake does not take attendance but you will want to go to every class. You def. want to go to his office before every test because he basically gives you the test. He so far has been the only prof. here that I have felt comfortable approaching with questions and needs.

you dont even need to go to the class....he gives you a cd rom with all of his lectures, example maps, and instructions....there are no tests, just need to hand in 10 maps!

Jake is AWESOME. He makes class super interesting and is hilarious. The tests are fair but you still need to study. You don't have to go to class if you don't want to, but you should make sure that you get the notes. He rocks!

Jake is the only prof. during my college career who actually made math more interesting. The subject matter is not the easiest, but he explains it in terms that even a D student can get a decent grade. He's lots of fun and very, very patient.

Refreshing change from the average professor. Nice guy, wants people to succeed. Lots of people think he's an easy A.... not true. You have to work hard. But he's always available to help. Intelligent, talented, funny. GREAT PERSON!

History wasn't my major and I never cared much for it. It's perfect for his class. He knows its a Gen ed for most people and he treats it as such. Although attendance isn't mandatory, he does make the lectures very interesting so you really don't want to miss class anyway.

amazing teacher with amazing lectures. makes class fun and interesting. class is not mandatory at all but to pass the tests you have to go and take the notes. he is a great teacher who always answers any questions.

Pretty easy teacher. You don't have to go to class, but make sure you have someone to get notes from if you don't go. Tests are pretty easy. You only use the textbook for the worksheets he gives out just before the tests.

Jake is hilarious and the most helpful professor i have EVER had. i was dreading geo before i got there, but he doesnt focus on where things are and dates, he only cares about what really matters. he is seriously awesome, and his notes are crystal clear. USE HIS OFFICE HOURS or your just plain stupid.

So So Funny. Weird that he gets away with saying 90% of what he says, but his class is always pretty great.

REALLY cool guy. Lets you know his republican opinions & it cracks people up. Loses it during some lectures & drops a lot of curse words. Really understanding & easy to approach. Said in the syllabus we aren't allowed to make up tests, but he let me. Test all based on his powerpoint notes. Grade is based on 3 tests & book assignments. TAKE HIM!

He was so cool! Very open minded and loves to talk! It's really refreshing to see a teacher not put on the teacher act, and he does it very well. Class is redic easy, even if you don't show up, you'll still prolly get an A+. Couldn't be a more awesome dude teaching an easy as hell class. TAKE IT!

Will tell you everything that is on his tests. "no tricks, no secrets." make sure you look over his notes, or go to the optional classes before the tests because he will tell you which "buzz words" are on the test. Funny guy, curses a lot, if you get easily offended, dont take him.

super easy class. the test questions came exactly from the notes and he would gladly help you with the worksheet questions. the only problem would be that some of the topics he talks about might be a little 'uncomfortable' for some people. but i would recommend this class

i loveeeed him. favorite professor by FAR! his class is super interesting, he is funny as heck, and although he says rude stuff there is actually reasons behind it, which he explains. the people who complain about him are just too uptight, relax and enjoy this class for what it is, just a class.

I honestly don't think he cares if you learn anything about geography in his class. He just wants students to not bug him too much and pester him for a better grade. As an older student returning to school, I know that I would not want him teaching his values to my children. Thank goodness I am not a geography major!

Very easy class. Only had to show up to copy power points. Told you exactly what would be on each exam, and gave the exams online with no time limit. Can be rude since he doesnt filter what he says, but as long as you dont take offense to it, it can be funny. Usually cuts class short. If you want an easy A take this class.

first, he is anything but hot, but thats besides the point. His class is the easiest class ive ever taken at WCU. Need something to boost up your GPA?...take him! I am not a huge fan of his dirty humor, like basing lectures around the sex industry and such...but overall, so easy.

Learned some new things from the comments below..he was in a gang? Jake (won't answer to his last name) took a really hard subject, and made it easy. By the end of the class, I felt like I could do math. Willing to go the extra mile. Work done in class, no homework. Tells insane life stories in class.

Jake is a very crazy professor. Hes straight forward with you too. He doesn't require a textbook. He gives you the tests and quizzes online and his notes are straightforward. You must get the notes if you don't attend or you will fail. If you have the notes there is no chance of failing his class. recommend if your looking for easy A

Jake is such an easy professor, he always tells you what is on the test and what you should write down. Plus he doesnt hold class when ther is a test, which are all online and open note. His beard is really funny and he has a lot of weird stories

Jake was awesome. Learned a ton. Melded Econ and Geo perfectly. He's straight forward and doesn't touch on crap you'll never need or use. One of my favorite profs when I was at WCU.

Jake is VERY laid back, and that will be evident the moment you meet him. There is no textbook for the class, and nor does he take attendance. If you're a needy learner, Jake is NOT the professor for you. Every class is revolved around taking notes, and lots of jokes in between. Highly recommend typing the notes and not hand-writing them.

This was the easiest class I have ever taken in HS or college. He is super laid back and he is absolutely hilarious. The tests are beyond easy and straight from the notes. No textbook and basically no work necessary. Definitely take this class if need it.

He admitted to writing the tests while drinking, which is pretty obvious considering the amount of repeated questions and typos. They're also online which, if you have ADHD like me, makes them even worse. But lectures are easy to sit through and Jake keeps it interesting

Class is divided up into four exams. He lectures notes for 3-4 weeks and opens the exam up on D2L for about four days. Usually cancels class the day of the exam because the exam is online. No homework or use of textbook. Very easy and funny guy, but attendance is mandatory (all notes are given out via lecture)

Its unbelievable how easy this class is. Literally show up and take notes on your laptop. He can be offensive and doesn't really care, but seriously if you show up and take notes, you will get an A. I haven't done one single piece of work outside of class the entire semester besides the online test which are so easy if you have good notes.

He is brutally honest about his opinions, but I respect that. He gives 4 online tests based off class notes. He wont post the slides, so if you miss class you're screwed, unless you have a friend in the class. I really enjoyed taking this class. I learned a lot and was never overwhelmed.

Only graded on 4 tests all semester, each 25% of your grade -- they are taken online at home with notes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but in order to get the notes you have to go or have a friend in class give them to you! Can be brutally honest, but he's a funny guy! Talk about things relevant to society, not mountains and valleys!

I took a basic Geography with Jake years ago and really enjoyed it. He seems to love what he does, and makes geography relevant - not memorizing maps and mountain ranges. Years later I ran into him and he still knew my name. If you go to class with an open mind you will learn a lot from him, about the class content and life.

Not your traditional geography course. Jake is one of the best professors/teachers ive ever had. Great sense of humor. Tests are online and the slides literally point out which questions are test questions. Write those down and you're good. Easy A
