He is a great guy good professor, his tests are mult.choice and definition, & essay, but it's not hard I made an A...as did many other students.
very hard tests, but very good prof, many students make A's.
He is a very good teacher and also a funny person. I took his internet class and it was pretty easy. Only harder part is that you have to go to campus to take your tests, but if you study they are pretty easy.
This guy is the guy. Dr. Nejad is one of the better teachers that i have had throughout my college years. He makes the class fun and entertaining, because he is a funny guy. I highly recomend taking any of his classes.
Very easy to understand. Lots of help. If you pay attention in class the tests are simple.
Very Funny Guy, he has ways of keeping you up, class was easy, just make sure you do the readings and the test will be easy like cake! Would take a class with him again if I had the chance.
Dr. Nejad is by no means "easy"....I made an A in his class but I did the work & read & paid attention & took good notes. He is very interested in what he's teaching so that always keeps me engaged.
This prof. is great! Very helpful, and he really interacted with the online class. As long as you read and take notes and study, you should be fine. .The class is def. not a knock off class, plus you have to actually go to school and take the tests. Make sure you pay attention
Great teacher, I would definately recomend him! As long as you do your work, you'll do great!
Don't know who everyone else is taking, but Dr. Nejad was BORING delivered the material so monotone and dried out my contacts!! my whole table thought this guy was boring. Everyone talked amoung themselves becuase there was nothing else to do-- if you like studying on your own this class is for you
He is not easy.He loves his subject and if you listen, you learn! Exams are not that hard if you ATTEND class, READ, and STUDY! What a concept! Great teacher!
HE WAS KIND OF BORING, BUT HE IS HELPFUL IF YOU NEED HELP AND HE GIVES YOU REVIEWS FOR EVERY TEST. IF YOU GO OVER REVIEW AND KNOW THE BASICS AND UNDERSTANDING WHAT THE REVIEW SAYS, YOU'LL PASS. I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD DO GOOD, BUT I DID. ONLY ONE RESEARCH PAPER. I RECOMMEND HIM!
This was my first government class and I couldn't of had a better teacher. He really listened and loved when his students would give their opinion in class about a certain topic. I really enjoyed it.
I took his internet class and as long as you keep up with the reading it's easy. He lays out all of the assignments at the beginning of class so you can get ahead and has a very simple grading system. I will def take him again over the internet.
He has an old sense of humor, but made me laugh. I only took three quizzes and the final one wasn't comprhensive. One research paper (easy). Classroom participation is easy, ask a question about government - if you're into that and you should pass. He does not indoctrinate, he listens to ANY opinion.
Don't take this professor if you expect to slack off or not actually read. It's not that hard to earn an A if you study and know all aspects of the review that he hands out before each teacher. Make sure to take good notes as well as he picks his essay questions from what he talks about in class.
I am taking him over the internet right now and loving the class. He is a wonderful professor who helps out and grades well. Class is easy as long as you do your work he is not a stickler for little things. I would take him again and recommend him to anyone and everyone.
Great Instructor, I'm taking the class online and it's super easy, he doesn't grade hard. As long as you keep up with the assignments it's a Easy A :o) I would take him again in a heartbeat ..
Nejad is a pretty good professor. Most of the class is lecture. If you write good notes, you'll be fine. His tests are pretty hard though- each one is the same. 2 essays, 4 definitions and 15 multiple choice. Attendance is mandatory and you will have to study some... i'd take him again though.
VERY GOOD TEACHER. TOOK HIS ONLINE COURSE WE HAD 10 ESSAYS AND 2 8 PAGE ESSAYS, SO BE READY TO WORK. BUT IF YOU DO THE ASSIGNMENT AND BULLETINS YOU WILL GET AN A!!
I absolutely loved this class! Pay attention, study and go to class and you will do fine. He explains things as simply as possible, makes jokes and has an interesting accent. It was fun and very relevant. Great instructor!!
Professor is really smart and loves to teach, but this is a sink or swim class! Be sure to read, pay attention, participate and do not miss class or you will fail! Be ready to devote at least a few hours a night to study for this class. Overall, he is awesome
Idk wut others encounterd with Nejad, but I had one of the worst expirience with this instructor, he does blame everything on the students takes no resposobility on his own mess ups. More than half the class fail the first exam below a 50 and he took to blame and said it was all our fault & it was just going to get harder from here. DONT TAKE HIM!!
when it comes to Government I always have had problems. But, Dr. Nejad made the materials so easy for all the class to understand. I really like his teaching style and his help throughtout the semester. Be ready to study hard and learn a lot about our government from him. He is great.
He is the best. I learned so much from him. He made government so easy for me to understand. I recommend him very strongly.
WORST teacher i've ever had in my entire LIFE. do not take him unless you love listening to boring lectures EVERY class. his voice is SUPER MONOTONE. & he jumps around in his lectures which make it hard to understand. I tried coming to class often, took notes, and still did not do so well on exams. by far the worst teacher ive ever HAD
Awesome professor. His on campus classes are always the same: 1 presentation (20%), 3 Tests (20% each for a total of 60%), and class participation (20%). Tests are always the same: 2 essays, 15 mult choice, and 4 def questions. He may seem hard at first, but if you stick out his class, you'll find that he doesn't expect you to be an expert at it.
I did not enjoy this class at all!!! We started out with not enough seats in the beginning of the semester & ended up with 1/2 the class dropping! His lectures are boring and your final grade only consists of 3 exams and a presentation. If you dont do well on your exams, you WILL fail. There are no other assignments to help boost your grade.
He knows the matrial a lot more than my last government instructor. He is not easy but he is fair. He made government easy for all of us to understand. Be ready to study hard and learn a lot.
I have his class this semester. He is the most helpful professor i have ever had. I wish he would teach history or other classes. I love his teaching style. oh, I think he is hot:)
I am taking mr. nejad's class this emester. He has been very helpful. I have had some medical issues and he has been so understanding and helpful. He is great.
He is awsome. His online class rocks. Just follow his syllabus and you are set. I will take him again anytime.
Be prepared to study hard. Lot's of reading and calss participation. You need to do a research paper and present it too. He is not easy BUT he is fair. He is very helpful. And, he has a good sense of humor. I like him.
Pretty fair professor. I didn't do too good in the first exam but he helped me a lot to catch up. i read a lot and did lots of current events in class. he is big on that. He is good.
This professor did a great job teaching a not very interesting subject. His lectures were very good and well-outlined. He gives a very comprhensive study guide. Take good notes, listen in class and use the study guide, and there is no reason to not get an A. If you refuse to study it's not the class for you. If you want to learn definitely take him
I just had his on line class. His syllabus is very comprehensive and you need to follow it. I really learned a lot. He would answer his emails the same day which wqas very helpfull for me.
he can be intersting and boring,if you don't get enough sleep.I have not taken my english class so it was hard to write a good essay. i failed in that department. if you can't write well, don't take this class, there are essay questions and marks off points for the way you answer. even though its the right answer. i think as long as you understand.
EASY A!!! I TOOK HIS CLASS FOR SUMMER I 09 AND I WAS NERVOUS BECAUSE I HEARD HE WAS HARD.HOWEVER,IT TURNED OUT THAT HE WAS EASY AS PIE :)...LOTS OF ESSAYS BECAUSE IN THE SUMMER ITS ONLY EIGHT WEEK SO YOU KNOW HOW THAT WILL GO. I LEARNED A LOT FROM HIS SUMMARIES AND TIME MANAGEMENT BECAUSE HE DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY LATE WORK. GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!
I had been out of school for 10 years and was nervous about taking any classes; however this class was an easy A. He was very helpful and very clear on his instructions. If you do the work and put and honest effort into your essays you should come out of the class with an 'A'. I would highly recommend this prof to anyone. :) -Melissa
I hated him. He is really stiched on cell phones and is really boreing. His test are hard if you don't study and ready the book.
Great teacher! Requires a lot of personal study of textbook - your grade will reflect your ability to read the book (specially for tests). Participation is a plus!
I had him for American Government. He is great. Very helpful. I went to his office and he was always there to answer my questions. Nice person.
Great Prof! It seems like a lot of work, but he is really lenient with the assignments. Each week we have to post the the discussion board twice and write an essay. That's is all you have to do. You don't even need a book. I have received a A on every assignment and on my discussion postings. He has no requirements as long as the question is answed
pick someone else
He is a good guy, but does not teAch to the tests..a computer comes up with the tests, which is you're main grades. It's okay but if you find someone better, don't look back!
CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE! You have to write two 2-page papers every week, and on top of that he has two exams, each consists of a mimimum of four 2-page papers. Its just ridiculous. Dropping tomorrow.
He is not easy. But, he is fair. Go to his office and ask questions. He is very helpful. You learn a lot if government interests you.
Wow, if you love to write papers, then by all means take this online class. Like a previous poster said: Two essays per week, discussion postings and 2 exams that each consist of four different two page essays. Hell of a workload. I just don't think he understands that information overload does nothing to help students retain information.
Tough teacher, but fair. Yes, you have to write a lot, and yes it is a tough class. But I think it could have been a lot tougher. Grades papers very fast and will tell you how you did. Would recommend and take again if I could.
This professor is not nice he was very rude to me. Alot of people say he is fair but I don't think the same way. His class consists of three tests and they are HARD. You can't study for them cause he makes you study all this material but only uses about 5% of it on the tests. So if you study for most of the questions he still might choose others.
Mr.Nejad is very nice. He is smart and an awesome teacher. He requires you to read the chapters so it will help you participate and understand the discussion for the chapters. He will help you if you don't understand the lesson :)
Mr.Nejad is a very good teacher, he likes to joke around a lot with the students, his grading is very clear, 3 tests which he reviews the days before, 1 project which he grades fairly easy, and class participation, he will also sometimes give you extra credit for each test, hes very helpful and will work with you if you miss class or need help.
For those who claimed he has you write 2 essays a week, they must have taken a flex class. In regular online classes it's about one a week and as long as you answer the questions you will be find. There are 2 exams which are 4 essays, which he send to you earily enough. other than essays there isn't any work in this class.
He's a good teacher. References from the book a good deal, so make sure you have the right edition! Also will put people into groups to do groupwork, and sometimes half a class period was taken up by student presentations, but we learned everything still. You have to actually to the work for your grade, but it's not super difficult if you focus.
I really liked this professor. I have no idea what everyone is talking about he didnt require any essays or group presentations. it was three tests all had two essay questions, but a paragraph will be enough if you have the key terms for the answer he is looking for (which he covers thouroughly in class) he likes attendance and bring a current even
I took govt 2306 online. This was not a hard class. Biweekly two pages essays, biweekly discussions and two final exams were your grade. The final exams included 4 essays in each exam. This professor was helpful and responded to email in a timely manner. If you are in a habit of doing hw in a timely manner, you should do well and pass this class with an A. You need the textbook to do the essays and assignments in this class.
Assignments are easy, took online. 10, 2 page papers on information straight from the book. Test/Essays are essentially the same thing and just as easy. Discussion posts are the third factor which are all opinion based. Very easy class, take this for an easy A.
I LOVE this professor. This was my favorite class. It was always intersting and his information was spot on. If you take nots, read the book, and accept that you have to do work in school, you will do great. The only problem is he doesn't teach more classes.
The professor is very easy and the class was very easy. You do have to write essay every week but it is very easy as long as you write 2pages and they are full page and to the point you will pass. Very easy and professor is easy. Take this class you wont regret it.
He is an amazing teacher. He knows what he is teaching on. He gets students opinions on all topics.
If you actually want to learn something about Government enroll in this course. He's hands down the only teacher at NVC I've taken that I feel I got my moneys worth out of the course. Most of his exams consist of essays however, he gives you an exact study guide. Listen and study and you'll make an easy A.
This professor is boring the only way to pass this class is to read the book ON YOUR OWN! Anything he talks about in class has nothing to do with the material. He reads word from word from the power points (which is the same material from the book)so its pointless to come to class. Please DO NOT take him their are better professors to pick from.
Fun class; teacher talks low so listen carefully. Answers any questions you need; does not really give homework. Exams aren't hard but has a lot of information so study! Colorize notes because there are a lot. Overall, a fun class, plan on taking him again..
great teacher! 3 tests, 1 presentation. answers all questions the class before the test. He's a very funny teacher, we even watched colbert during class. tests have 2 essays, vobab, and multiple choice from the book. I wish he taught Texas Government i would definitely take him again. tons of extra credit, no real homework besides reading. amazing.
This professor isn't bad at all, his class is kind of boring at times because the subject itself is boring, but he is very helpful and nice & honestly, i NEVER read the book and i passed his class with a B..just STUDY the review he has essays on his test but they're really easy, just make an effort and you'll pass.
I took this class online and I loved it! Yes, there is a lot of writing involved but something you can handle. There was work every day which kept me busy and I didn't slack off.
Professor Nejad is super AWESOME. He's class is really easy if you pay attention. Notes are taken everyday but he shortens them up. His essays for his test are simple, just STUDY and you'll do fine. He's very sweet and understanding as well. He has a great sense of humor so the class isn't boring.
I took this class online and there is a lot of writing and online posting but as long as you do the work you are ok.
This class is writing intensive. For the online class you use your book to do discussions and 2-page essays every week. He takes absolutely NO LATE WORK no matter what your reason is, so don't expect an exception. All the essays are straight from the book. Overall, this class was a good routine class. Lots of work, but you learn a lot!
This class isn't hard in the least bit. He makes it not all that hard by providing personal opinion discussions related to government and a weekly 2-page essay that is straight out of the book and easy to do. He is also very helpful because he messages all of the students when he notices a pattern like the discussion wasn't done.
the worst teacher i had by far,so many assignments he is not comprehensive at all, had to leave town for extreme reasons and he did not let me make up the test i missed worst teacher
This teacher is by far the worst teacher I've ever had. His Tests don't even follow the review that he gives. He does not allow any talking even if you have a quick question about the topic. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT sign up for this teacher.
Dr. Nejad's lectures are easy to understand and interesting (but honestly, I could listen to him read the phonebook with that accent!) Very little homework, which is nice. This class is NOT hard. You must read your textbook. You must pay attention. This is college, not fifth grade. He is approachable and helpful; definitely recommend.
Took him online summer. Best decision ever. Basically if u turn the assignment in u get a 100 I was only counted off on an assignment once bc it wasn't long enough and it was only 5%.
Great professor made government interesting i would highly recommend him.
His lectures have NOTHING to do with his tests which makes them hard to pass. Even if you read the book, the tests are made of LITTLE DETAILS that have NOTHING to do with the actual content you would have thought to be important. Doesn't follow reviews. In class his lectures are so boring and half the class is asleep. Worst Gov teacher! Don't take!
Excellent professor recommend him highly. He keeps you posted on your grades, always willing to help. His assignment were very educational..... TAKE him you won't regret it
His tests are fairly hard, but as long as you take notes and read the chapters you'll do fine. His accident is wonderful, and has many interesting things to discuss. I recommend taking him!
Dr. Nejad's online Texas Government class is an extremely easy A+ if you do the work. Work in this class consists of a weekly two-page essay, a weekly discussion posting, and two exams that require four two-page essays per exam. He's a very easy grader but is strict on turning in assignments on time because he doesn't accept late work at all.
Great online class. Very easy grader, just do the work and youll get an A as long as you're actually reading the question! Loved the weekly discussions.
Mr. Nejad was a great professor. It is a college level course so there is a lot of individual study required. You should have at least an hour after every class day to read-READING IS A MUST! He has an accent that is easily understood, and a great personality. There are 4 Tests including final which is not cumulative. Take if you want to learn.
LOVED HIM. He is so passionate about government. Hes funny. The class is a college course. If you want high school type of class don't take him. I learned a lot from him. awesome accent!
SO E A S Y. E A S I E S T C L A S S I E V E R T O O K
Great teacher. His class is easy enough to pass if you do your work and pay attention! He doesn't mess around, but at the same is super approachable and wants to help. This IS a college course so you need to read on your own to know what's going on. He doesn't believe in midterms or finals, so throughout the semester he gives 3 tests and a paper.
Professor Nejad is excellent. Always responded within 24 hours of email. Short essays (2 pages double spaced) and group discussions (2 posts) on a weekly basis- no exceptions. I strongly dislike GOVTHIST courses yet came out learning a lot about Texas. Just answer the questions given on time and you'll have an A.
Great professor who teaches you how our government works. Instead of doing the typical quiz using a book, he has you write papers on chapter topics and participate in group discussions. You cover way more material than a multiple choice quiz can teach you. I learned a lot from his online class and would take again. BTW, NO LATE WORK! JUST FYI!
I was only able to add his class at the last minute and I am extremely happy that I did. Professor Nejad is extremely professional, courteous and is a tough but fair grader. I would say the biggest enjoyment of his class has been the discussion of different sections of the material on the discussion board. He really enjoys what he does!
Jalal Nejad's online class is transparent in terms of expectations. Simply put- do the work. There are no make-up opportunities. VERY accessible, is proactive in reminding what is due and when. Only improvement would be to push the due date hour to 11:59pm on the day the assignment is due. MUST TAKE!
pretty easy. Professor sets clear expectations and accepts absolutely no make up work. This is a reading and writing intensive course though and you do an essay once a week based off the chapter you read that week then also one discussion a week--which must have one post answering the prompt he gives and one response to someone else's post.
Mr. Nejad is a tough grader on essays but if you stay on topic and do your research its easy to get an A in his class. He is big on discussion boards and requires two posts each of them 24 hours apart, so post early! Read the material, do your research and post on the discussion boards and you will do fine.
Online course: The expectations are clear and concise. Be prepared to write...2pg paper and discussion post every week. The mid-term and final are 4 essays-2pgs each. Professor Nejad was not an extremely tough grader, but you have to prove you know the material. Made a 98%
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HATE WRITING PAPERS. You're assigned 2 page papers every week over a section of each chapter in the book and the midterm and final exam consist of 4 two page papers. The topics are fairly easy to write about and all answers are found in the book, but don't take this class if writing isn't a strong suite of yours.
This class is clear cut. 2 page paper on each chapter weekly, which as long as you do the work and answer the questions he will give full credit. 1 Discussion post weekly and 2 finals, both consist of four 2 page papers. He is an easy grader as long as you try. Easy A
The saying, "you reap, what you sow" is very true. This professor will inspire you with his lectures and broaden your outlook. He is very bias and wants to give you the information while you creat a path of your own. You must not miss class, Do the essays, and study. As long as you do that you will pass.
I enjoyed this class because he actually helps you learn something. While every assignment is an essay or a discussion, he's a pretty easy grader. So as long as you write something in the format he expects you will do fine. I would not recommend if you hate writing and would prefer multiple choice teachers.
I took the online summer class for state government. The class felt a little tedious because every week you had to write two discussions, two responses, and two papers (the papers were (double spaced & two pages min.). The text book is a must to write the papers, and the prof. is nice & fast to respond to emails. 2 tests: four papers.
He is a great grader, he does not get too specific about little problems your assignment has, he is fair when you just show that you understood the assignment and basically know the concept of the topic. He expects you to participate especially in online courses you have to make sure you comment on at least two of your classmate's posts. Easy.
There is no homework and few in class assignments. The majority of the time is his interpretation of the book, which you need to write some of the papers. He gives 3 major exams, each exam has (2) two page essays on a particular subject. It is really relaxed and the exams cover the material he lectures on in class. Easy A if you read the book.
Professor Nejad is an excellent teacher. His class is an easy A+ if you work for it, but you still get a really good understanding of the subject matter. He is also very punctual and professional. I definitely recommend.
I LOVE THIS TEACHER. Definitely an easy A if you study and if you dont skip his class. MAKE SURE TO READ THE CHAPTERS. His tests arent just his notes, you have to really read all the chapters. He is the sweetest professor i have ever had and is so passionate about what he does. Loved every minute of his lectures. I highly recommend.
He is great! I wish I could take him again!
Took him for an online class. Easy A! You have an essay due every week! Make sure you don't copy & paste!
Took him for online Government and it was extremely easy. He is great at communicating with you and keeping you updated on assignment due dates. Two-two page papers along with two discussions due weekly and a four essay midterm and final. Textbook is a must. Just don't plagiarize and you'll make an easy A as long as you turn in your papers!
Professor Nejad is a pretty traditional guy, but knows what hes talking about. The class is just notes for the tests and he doesn't give any extra credit so don't fail anything or youll have to drop the class. Overall it was just a basic federal government class. if youre caught on your phone he automatically marks you as absent so beware!!
Although the test weren't the easiest, the class was great and I learned a lot thanks to his lectures. Great professor!
Teacher gives you all the material but leaves out ways to get extra credit. Must read in order to even try to pass a test. Only 4 exams, no notes, no study guides. At the end, gave extra credit, probably saw that most of the class was nearly failing. DO NOT PICK HIM IF YOU DO NOT READ.
You need the book and the whole class, online at least, is a summary of each chapter. Discussions and tests each week. Midterm and final are various essays based on multiple topics. If you read and pass the tests, you can pass.
Your grade in this class is determined by 4 multiple choice exams you take throughout the semester. You are expected to read about 16 chapters on your own. You would think he goes over the material you get tested on, right? WRONG. These exams were full of surprises never edited or altered for years. This is a professor who didnt put in the effort.
I enjoyed this class so much. I will say that if you are looking for an easy A this class is not for you. He gives four exams which usually consist of 50 multiple choice and two essays. He lets students interact and speak they're mind, he gives casual current events to discuss. This class was mostly political discussion and lecture.
Very knowledgeable. Definitely knows his stuff. Fair but tough. I learned a lot.
Do the work, he accepts bare minimum, not a tough grader. Do not fall behind, post discussions on time and it's an easy A.
I would take Prof Nejad again. He made Texas government really simple and easy. Even though I dreaded finals and midterms because you will have to write three essays each, the rest of his course was easy if you read the chapters.
Terrible. You can find a better gov teacher.
I took this online for 8 week summer class. The hardest part was that the discussions have time limits where you can't post for 24 hours after the first post. It would probably be easier in a 16 wk course to remember or have extra time if you forget. midterm/final were essays - easy enough. Do the work and you will get an A
Beware of quizzes. Quizzes are extremely hard and difficult.
Took him for Fall 2018. Every week you had homework on a chapter reading online which was pretty simple due to the fact he gave you 3 tries to get a 100 on it. 4 Exams were done in class which had a 2-page essay portion and 50 question multiple choice which wasn't hard if you studied. Rarely gave extra credit, but overall a nice and funny man!
He is big on current events and reading the book. If you pay attention in class and read the book it is an easy "A". He is funny which is always a good thing.
I took Prof. Nejad for spring 2019 Texas Government online. I can say that the class was quite easy as long as you put forth some kind of effort. There is a discussion board and a 30 question quiz every week. It's easy enough though. I would definitely take him as a professor again.
Took this online and it was not a hard course. As long as you do your work you should pass. The only thing is for finals you have to do many essay but there simple.
Professor Nejad is wonderful! He is extremely bright and he is upfront about what he expects. You have a discussion and a quiz every week. The quiz is over that weeks chapter reading, and as long as you read the book you will pass! It's really not that hard, all of the answers are in the chapters and he only makes you read one chapter a week!!
Dr. Nejad is unbiased in approach to teaching a topic on something so incredibly controversial. Part of the course is a research presentation which students are encouraged to engage in a dialogue about. This allows students to experience the purpose of freedom of speech and hopefully the importance. We are all together in this, so show respect.
Honestly, the only difficult thing about this class (online) was writing 3 essays (2-page minimum), the online discussions were interesting and engaging. The quizzes were are easy. Any bad review about him is pretty obscured because he is clear on what he wants to see, just do your work and its an easy A.
Honestly one of the best professors I have had. I would recommend him to anyone taking Fed Govt. Before I took his class I knew only the basics of govt, after it I felt confident in how I could get involved and seek change in politics. He opens your eyes up to what is happening politically in America. 100% recommend.
Mr. Nedaj is a awesome professor. He is extremely funny and he makes government class slightly less boring. He was very helpful during the transition to remote classes. He is not a hard grader at all, just be prepared to read your textbook and write a couple of essays and you will do great.
Professor Nejad made Gov+Politics interesting and fun. By far favorite course+professor taken at NVC. Attendance is mandatory, lectures are worth it, I recommend online textbook if possible bc it makes essays easier!! Very caring and understanding, responds to emails quickly, overall HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Mr. Nejad is a great professor! I took his GOVT 2305 class and I would definitely take his class again. He cares and his lectures as very interesting and engaging. He's also a generous grader. You will have 4 tests throughout the semester. 2 page minimum on essays and 50 question multiple choise test. You will also have to do a research paper.
Passionate about politics. Doesn't beat around the bush. Almost like a human Bing for US government. Does not filter words: just says it how it is, black or white. It is crucial to study as 90% of the class is graded by exams. Other than that, class is easy like Pacman.
Would not recommend! The work itself is not hard, but it is the lack of clear instruction, yet strictness when it comes to down to grading. I would not recommend his class to those who don't want to get a 50/100 for writing 4 sentences instead of 5. No lectures/info given when doing discussions, papers, or quiz just expected to read out $70 book.
I absolutely loved this class I am finishing up my semester. I wish he had way more classes. Truly amazing I couldn't afford a book but because his lectures are so open and clear I passed with an A! 10/10
Online, Prof Nejad gives a discussion and a quiz every week. He is very strict about discussion rules and the quizzes can be difficult as the answers aren't always straightforward. But one thing I need to mention is his lack of understanding about life. Emergencies happen and he WILL NOT work with you. So, work ahead if you can...
His tests were so hard! I would not recommend taking him if you struggle with reading textbooks. He was very kind but he definitely expected you to listen because he would explain things once. The rest was up to you.
For GOVT-2306, the class had a discussion post (5 sentences and reply to another student) and a quiz (20 questions) every week. The midterm and final exams were three two-page essays. Overall, I enjoyed the structure of the class. The textbook is great and came with a helpful study tool. I would definitely recommend this class to other students.
If you don't follow his instructions exactly as they're communicated in the syllabus you will have points deducted from your assignments. A good teacher really passionate and direct, I ended up spending more time studying for this class than in most of my other classes this semester.
I had him for spring semester. As long as you read the book and follow the syllabus you will make an A. Always helpful and responds to your email same day.
I took this course as a summer class since it was free, and I figured, "Hey, it's just a government class, can't be that time-consuming." WRONG. This is the type of class that has so many discussions and quizzes that ultimately mean nothing because you don't get enough credit to skip a midterm or final. The Midterm was 3 separate two-page essays!
Took 5wk Flex I. Easy class if you're a good reader and able to comprehend. God forbid life gets in the way and you miss an assignment because there is no late work, NO EXCEPTIONS. 3 two-page essays for midterm and final, so make sure to do the readings or you will fail. Don't procrastinate or you'll be up to 11:59 on each due date turning in work
-5w summer class. I absolutely loved this class. I will admit I was nervous about not accepting late work, but he gave 3 days per discussion/readings. Totally manageable. I really liked the textbook and notecards. The quizzes were sometimes worded tricky, but still always managed to pass with no issue. I didn't mind the essay writing exams either.
Dr. Nejad reminded me what a professor was like 30 years ago. ... and while that might sound as if he's outdated, he's not. He taught U.S. Government the way a Government professor should. You'll learn a lot in his class, and he'll hold you to it. I really enjoyed his class.
Dr. Nejad cares about his students. I had a family situation that required me to be away from school for a couple of weeks. He worked with me. He is very understanding. I wished my other professors were more like him.
At first I was really thrown off when reading the professor's syllabus, now I realized I had nothing to worry about! There was weekly homeworks which you had 3 attempts on. The test consisted of 2 two paged essay (as long as you tried, you got a 100) and an online 50 multiple choice questions. Pls take if you want a pretty easy govt course.
I took an online/ZOOM class with Dr. Nejad. He was great. I am a mother of two and work full time and this was my first time taking an online class. His lectures were very helpful in understanding course materials. He cared a lot and was available to meet on ZOOM if we I had questions. Great professor.
Gov 2306 was the easiest class I have ever taken, the professor makes everything extremely straightforward, and grades fast and easy.
Very fair and respectful professor. If you can get one of his classes then I'd go for it.
While I appreciate Professor Nejad's commitment to teaching government and his passion for the subject, I often found myself losing interest in his lectures (though it was a Zoom class so it was easy to get distracted). He is knowledgeable on the subject but I did notice that his tests would ask some questions that we were never taught.
Professor Nejad is a good professor and has a clear system. One 30-question quiz per week, which is not too difficult, and a discussion post on top of that. The mid-term and final are essays, and the requirements are clearly explained. Overall, it is a solid course, and I highly recommend taking it.
Professor Nejad is the best. He really cares about teaching his students and making sure everyone do well in his class. I took an online class with him and he was always available to answer questions. I strongly recommend him.
This class was honestly very easy. The tests consisted of 3 essay questions, which were very easy to answer. We did have weekly 30 question quizzes and weekly discussion posts but they were also easy.
Professor Nejad delivers excellent lectures that break down federal government concepts in a clear and engaging way. The course includes weekly homework and two 2-page essays per test, which help reinforce material but can make it challenging to study for other courses. Overall, a great choice for understanding federal government!
Understanding but strict guy, he's very quick with emails which is nice, I took him in person all of his exams are online and he does assign essays so if your not a writer buckle up. Other than that great guy I'm taking another class he teaches next semester so I recommend him.
Lots of essay writing, and weekly 20 question quiz, was generally fun to listen to in class and made it engaging, i found myself actually wanting to listen. Class was relatively easy and he is quick to respond to emails, would take again and highly recommend. A little bit strict with dates but that's to be expected.
Her class is better than others, she has clear grading criteria, and a good, decent amount of discussions. Her class is online, savvy, and easy to navigate, and easy to submit and do assignments. Highly recommend her class, she knows her course and what she is doing, along with the grading. TAKE HER
Only have to write essays for the midterm and final, the rest is quizzes and discussion posts, actually took him for 2 separate classes because he's so nice he'll respond to emails on the same day and gives very easy assignments totally recommend him.
An amazing instructor. Very respectable. Get ready to read from a free online textbook. Exams were very easy with about 50 questions along w/ essays that would require a lot of reading from the textbook. Very strict with deadlines. Overall would take again.
