I too lost sleep...didn't help. Frustrating class and impossible teacher. Ended up with a B- after days on end of studying. Busted my b8lls & got a horrible grade. Funny & nice guy though. But NEVER take his class! Im nursing a 3.8X GPA, well not anymore!

HARDEST CLASS EVER....no matter how hard you work, you will get a miserbale grade, studied 2 weeks for final and failed

I attended every class and did all the homework - it didnt matter - this guy is probably the most unresponsive and worst prof at L-MD. This is why the acct dept kills your GPA and costs Jobs for the Grads from LC. Its a shame for all the money your parents are spending.

I am amazed that Loyola has let this man teach accounting for so long. He just reads off of the power points and vaguely explains concepts. Tests are very hard and he doesn't give you any opportunities to bring your grade up. Stay away from this man at all costs.

Worst teacher I've ever taken at Loyola. He is extremely unhelpful. I don't know how he hasn't been fired yet. His tests are hard and the online homework is not helpful. Basically you're whole grade is made up of the three tests given. DO NOT TAKE!

If you can get past this train wreck of a class, you can become anything... don't let this satan worshipper demolish your accounting dreams. His class sucks, tests suck even more, and to top it all of he could care less about anybody even if you were his own son he would still debate on giving you a D or a D+ just because he's feeling "nice"

This class is not that hard. Don't listen to these other students. If you read that chapters (which are not long at all) you can easily do well in the class. Do the problems at the end of the chapter that the book gives you (not the ones he assigns) He takes his test straight from it. No need to listen to him in class he talks nonsense.

I would try to avoid this professor as much as possible. Classes were not helpful and ended up relying on the text book for EVERYTHING. Read the textbook to pass and outline it during class instead of listening to professor's nonsense.

By far the worst class I've ever taken. He reads off the slides, the tests are ridiculously difficult and are not like the WileyPlus hw that is always assigned. There were also random pop quizzes based on the pages and pages of reading before class started. Avoid this prof if possible.

The WORST professor at Loyola that anyone can ever take. Do not take his class at all cost because he just does not care about you at all. The tests are impossible and you study for numerous hours that does not do anything. His lecture are extremely boring, and you have no clue to what is going on in class. Be prepare to get a C- in this class.

Let me just first say that I love accounting and have been a A student throughout my academic career. And have a really good accounting base as well as I have taken many accounting classes. But this professor makes me want to hate accounting. He's the absolute worst accounting teacher ever. His final exam will leav you dead. It is the hardest ever!

This man will crush your soul and kill your GPA. Went from a Dean's List student from someone who says things like "C's get degrees" and "Is a 60 a passing grade?" Reads straight from powerpoints that he didn't even make himself. Final grade is basically the exams. Online work/projects are barely worth any points, but are hard and take a while.

I have never encountered a professor who took so much pride in the fact that he is known for being unfair and impossibly tough. Unless you spend every waking moment of your life combing over the TEXTBOOK (all of the textbook problems and then some), not your notes because they will not help, then you will get a C and be very proud of it. Go abroad in the fall and take AC301 online. Your advisor will try and steer you away from this options but trust me, you'll get an A for the online class abroad and avoid the work, tears, and barely passing grade that will destroy your pristine accounting GPA.

Terrible professor. He's very arrogant, condescending and also unclear about what to study for his exams. Seems like he really doesn't care about his students in general. It's a shame he still teaches here. Sucks there's no other professors to take for 301.

The most difficult class I have ever taken. Studied approximately 30-40 hours for the final and still did not do well. I have received nothing below an A- in my accounting classes until this one.

I read the reviews on here thinking there is no way a professor could be that bad- I was wrong. While Intermediate is a tough class in general, Soroosh does nothing to make it any easier on his students. He does not care about his students at all & seemed delighted when we performed poorly on tests. He is evil. Put in the effort and you'll pass

I am currently waiting for this professor because the final exam was today however, he is an hour late! BEWARE AND DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Not only is he a tough grader but he also could not show up for your final!

Single worst professor at Loyola

HORRIBLE.

This class makes me feel more lonely than a single cloud in the sky. I constantly feel as if I'm trapped in a maze with no idea where to turn. WileyPLUS is my only friend.

I am very sad. I studied for 3 days straight. Just took the exam. Pretty sure I failed. This class makes me want to cry. Please do not take for your sanity. No matter how hard I try I do not succeed.

The negative ratings are all accurate. This class was by far the worst out of my MBA program. Do not take him. My entire class couldn't follow the gibberish he was spitting every week but he didn't care. Continued on with his 1980s PowerPoints.

He's insanely boring and with an already boring enough subject it's almost unbearable. Never take this mans class. I don't know why he hasn't retired, I don't think he knows how to use a computer even with online class. Be prepared to do stupid Wiley Plus homework and have quizzes every single day no matter if you took a midterm the class BEFORE.

This is by far the worst class I've ever taken. Pop quizzes almost every class day with impossible questions to understand. He gives homework that takes literal hours to complete and never puts homework grades in the grade book. I would really consider going with another professor if you can!

Prof. Soroosh refuses to change his antiquated ways. He always reminds us that computers do nearly all bookkeeping these days but continues to teach like its the 80s and forbids more practical methods (excel). Homework is tedious, tests are difficult and take up nearly your whole grade, and pop quizzes happen every week. Nobody deserves this.

Taking this class is like crawling on glass while being pelted by tomatoes, hurtful but tangy. I wouldn't wish this class on my worst enemy. Showed up late to review sessions, misspelled exams, and worst of all, made me lose my spark for learning. If you miss one class or one word, you are already lost. I strongly advise to find another professor.

This man seriously should not be a professor. This class sucked the life out of me to attend, between the gruelingly boring lectures and random/impossible pop quizzes every week. I would rather be pelted with stones for 1h15mins than show up. He also made our class stay until Dec. 20th for final and a substitute prof. showed up to proctor instead

I do not understand how Prof Soroosh is still at Loyola or teaching accounting at all. I studied, attended AC club review, and did a lot of the WileyPlus homework. He told me I was going to fail his course a month into it when I went to him for help. He teaches like you're a CPA and cares more about quizzes/ exams than having you understand. Beware

HORRIBLE. The amount of hours I spent crying over this class is unbelievable. Jalal literally should not be a teacher at Loyola. I sat there all year with a pen and paper and no computer so I wouldn't distract myself and still didn't understand wtf he was talking about. please just do not take him unless you want to cry over every assignment & test

Very poor professor, doesn't seem to know how to teach students. Constant quizzes, everyone dropped the class leaving me and like 8 other students in the class

Nice guy, bad teacher. He wants to care but doesn't. He is a walking contradiction, duality of man. Wants you to ask questions in class, won't answer them. Wants you to do well, doesn't show up to office hours. Maybe he thinks we are smarter than we are and should be flattered, but we needed help. Lot's of Wiley, quizzes at the start of every class

This man is quite possibly the worst professor I had my first semester. Completely killed my passion for Accounting. Do not take him, try to wait for another professor.

You are better off watching YouTube videos on accounting than to take this guys class.

Very great guy, but this class had me lost for half of it. If you want to succeed you MUST put in atleast 20 hours a week including homework, reading/taking notes on textbook, and doing practice problems. He expects you to know what hes talking about in that day in lecture so make sure you come prepared.

Wow where do I start. This guy made me drop my Accounting major he will make you hate accounting. Hes a very nice guy but should not be able to teach. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! Mandatory 20 Hours of work a week. Take anyone else if you can. Exams are on paper.
