Unclear directions, requires submission of the same assignment on multiple sites. Doesn't align with syllabus. Would not recommend taking this course online. Hard to reach professor when assistance is needed.
This professor GETS it! His class was super thorough, and I left it thinking more highly of my Excel skills than ever before. He was very intelligent, and his work was really easy to follow through. I would definitely recommend taking the class if you want to expand your skill set. 10/10 would take again!
I would recommend this professor.
Flexible and engaging instructor
Good class to take for excel, actually learned a lot. Pretty difficult be ready for a lot of homework. Wouldnt recommend if you are new to excel!
Professor Grimble was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. The class was very challenging, and I ran into a lot of technical issues, but his support made a big difference and made the course much more manageable. Also, he replies to emails pretty quickly and allows resubmitting for weekly assignments. Be ready to spend at least 15hrs + for hw.
Easy to do the assignments but there are a lot of them to do. But the instructor do give extension with few point reduction.
Prof. Grimble does a great job in covering everything from the most basic to the most complicated parts of Excel. The HW is a lot, so make sure you don't fall behind. Prof. is communicative and available for questions and will breakdown any HW that caused headaches for everyone. You'll definitely learn a lot!
There are clear instructions for the assignments but a lot of them to do. But the instructor does give an extension with a few points reduced.
Instructor Jalen is a great guy and wants you to succeed. For the lectures, we do a lab activity independently and once you are done you are free to leave. He helps out with all the questions you have if you are struggling with your lab and he is very accessible outside of class if you need help on your HW.
i took this class because I wanted to learn excel... I learnt excel. It's a very well organized and efficient course. You will teach yourself the skills in this class and the professor will be of assistance if necessary. keep up to date and stay engaged and you'll do fine. The classes are self taught and you can leave early~
This was my first excel class I have taken so I had a little more trouble than most of the class, but the teacher was very straightforward with how the class was ran. He made sure everyone knew what was going on and if you go to class and do your work you should not have trouble passing.
He always creates a friendly and professional environment throughout the class. Reach out if you need cause as long as it is during business hours, he will answer asap. This is a hefty class and the workload may shock some people. However, there will be instructions throughout the process so don't worry.
He guides me well so that I can become proficient in a program called Excel.
Jalen Grimble, was very helpful in navigating the course material and ensuring we had all the information we needed to be able to complete all of the assignments and tests without an issue. If there was a harder part of the test he was very thorough in ensuring we were ready.
Professor Grimble is a pretty funny guy that is extremely tech savvy. There is a decent amount of homework but it's mostly just busy work rather than actual effort. Pretty easy A if you just do the work assigned (same amount each week).
Grimble treats students like adults. You need to come to class with your due material submitted and on time. His lectures are fast and confusing, I am not a tech savvy person. But if you are, the material can be done quickly, independently in class. He lets works with your peers and answers questions. He is quick to response to emails.
Mr. Grimble is an honest instructor who keeps it real. He's very straight to the point, especially during lectures bcuz he doesn't go off topic. The class is 1hr & 5min but we are allowed to leave before that since the lectures end before the time but also as long as you understand the lectures and have no questions. I have no cons for Grimble.
There was a lot of homework and a lot of difficult content, but I learned a lot. Not only did I gain Excel skills that I will use after I get a job, but I also became able to analyze data to a certain extent.
Always ready to help with the assignments
Always ready to help with the assigments
It would be great if they could speak a little louder and clear.
He can come across as harsh, but honestly wants the best for every student. His stern demeanor seems to come from the high expectations he sets for his students and a focus on preparing you for a world where others are not hand holding or sending you constant reminders. It is up to you how well you do in his course. Good teacher, knows his stuff
Overall, Grimble's class is enjoyable. Most of the content is self-guided but he makes himself available for questions during lab sessions. The quiz questions at the start of each lab add an element of fun to each class meeting. I recommend taking his class! Recommendation: example tutorials for complex functions instead of verbalizing explanation
Great easy class, however most of the time I couldn't hear the professor.
it would be great if they could speak a little loud and clear.
The content can be hard to understand at first, but he answers any questions you have at any time and will email you back in fair amount of time. I'd take the course again
Great, straightforward professor and always willing to help a student out.
Knows what he is doing for the most part. He can be chill just make sure you're respectful and show effort.
As long as you complete the following instructions with your assignments and take some time out of your day to read and learn the material, you should do great. He's chill and responds to emails in a reasonable time. I'd take the course again
Amazing teacher, I have already taken 2 classes from him. The assignments are simple but efective. Gives clear fadbacks and answers to questions
Good instructor just make sure you stay on top of your work.
Jalen seems like a great guy, but he doesn't mess around when it comes to what he's willing to put up with as a professor. He seems tired during our class period and doesn't mess around with what his boundaries are. He will ignore emails occasionally which I respect. He is very supportive in class with work-related help.
I am not a Business Major; however, Professor Grimble's structure of the course was organized and seamless which fostered more success for myself in this course. He has made himself available for questions and has clear communication. Class wasn't always necessary, felt like a waste to drive all the way there just to go home 15 min later.
The professor is great and considerate. The only reason I worked away with a relatively lower grade was because I missed some work.
Language in quizzes, tests, and other assignments can sometimes be confusing/misleading.
cus he is a good professor
The professor was really helpful with this class. He always tries to reach out when we need extra help and asks for feedback from time to time on how he can better his teaching skills. He is kind of fast to talk though so sometimes it would be hard to follow instructions, but once you let him know, he will adjust accordingly.
It was an easy class but kind of tedious and boring.
This teacher was really clear about what he wants from you in this class, and helps with fixing issues.
Overall very solid professor that clearly understood the course material fluently.
Was a great instructor was clear with what was expected.
Very communicative professor, and easy to work with. The homework/projects take a very large chunk of time, so be prepared for that.
This class is useful to learn excel. It's more useful when this your first time utilizing excel. However, there are homeworks every week that might be hard time to time. Aside from that it is a great class to learn microsoft excel.
Good Guy, Very funny, But do understand questions and comments will all be explained in the course materials.
Created a clear course page and has clear instructions for all work.
Lots of work but good content. I learned a lot in this class and hope to be able to take his class again!
Good professor with lots of content to support ongoing studies. Hope to take him again!
Ask for help! Very responsive. Lots of hands on learning and applying learned skills. I'm a visual learner and all of the resources are very visual.
Professor's class was very professional and helpful and also not mandatory which was nice.
Very nice explanation on Grading assignments. Clear instrucitons for Assignments. Very fast Respnds on emails . Informative.
He did great setting a grading criteria for each discussions, and we didn't have a required minimum word count, we were graded off of quality rather than quantity. Several times I emailed him with questions and he never replied. There were optional notes and questions to fill out each week, and we got 2 attempts for each quiz. I learned so much!
He was a good teacher, fair grader and attendance wasn't mandatory, also offered good extra credit.
Jalen is a great professor! Each week's topic is always interesting and fresh. No textbook is required for Jalen's BA 150 class, which is great! This class is fully online. One discussion post per week with three replies and an assignment once every two weeks. Oh and a weekly quiz under 10 questions. I recommend taking Jalen's Excel class!
Great Teacher, very straight forward class 100% would take again made Excel feel easy.
Lots of TED Talks and reading beyond the textbook. Real effort matters to him, and it shows when grading that as long as you have really tried, he's willing to work with you.
Jalen wants his students to succeed. Quite a bit of homework but he is willing to help and work with you on late assignments within reason. Has a great attitude and good taste in music. I enjoyed the extra credit questions he offered if the entire class participated. He is a fair teacher. I would definitely take him as a teacher again. Thank you.
great professor
The professor has clear expectations and always grades the completed work (and provides feedback) within the next 24 hours. While there is quite some reading to do it is very important to read for the discussions and quizzes! I would take another class with this professor again!
Professor Jalen is very helpful and is very understanding. He wants all of his students to succeed and is very passionate about what he teaches.
The professor was really good at explaining things in a clear and straightforward way, which made the material easy to understand. They kept things simple and were always ready to answer questions. The class had a good amount of reading, writing, and work. Overall, the class was engaging, and I felt like I was able to learn effectively.
There were many small things that make this class harder than it needed to be.
This term, Jalen Grimble was a pleasure to have as my Introduction to Entrepreneurship professor. Since he placed all of the assignments and dissections on the same module for that week, I truly appreciated how simple and straightforward it was to locate them all. Every assignment or discussion had a clear deadline.
Gives lots of assignments that are sometimes little and sometimes bigger assignments. Hard to keep up with other classes as well.
The class offers an in-depth learning experience revolving around career like tasks and requirements.
Good structure to the course. Good communication form the teacher. Some assignment requirements could have been more clear,
This professor gives out good information to learn about the class. I knew nothing prior to this class about excel, but now I know how to get my way around it just by going through his class. The material is very digestible and make sure to do you work. Would take the class again.
Your teaching method is very good and shows the level of expertise in the subject. However, if you could explain a little more slowly, it would be greatly appreciated. I am very satisfied with your grading method since the feedback was good and so quickly gives us an overview of how we as students are doing in the course and how toimprove.
Quite a few assignments each week, but overall provides clear instructions on each assignment. There needs to be some updates to the module info, but if you ever have questions he is quick to respond and grades projects quickly. Would take more online classes with Jalen!
Would take more online classes with Jalen. Has clear grading rubric and grades projects quickly. Overall the online layout is pretty set, though there are some unclear instructions every now and then. He is quick to get back to you if you reach out about it. A lot of the projects have clear step by step instructions.
The material was communicated clearly in class and he had an outline for that class that he made clear on day one. This is a hard class to teach because of how much material there is to cover and was made easier for the students due to the tools provided.
He had lots of work, but he held himself to a high standard and was willing to help out where ever he could.
Lots of work, but teacher was will to do all he could to help.
Lots of work but professor is always available if you need help. Very informative class.
This professor sets clear guidelines and expectations for the course. He's easy to talk to and very nice.
Nice Guy - Needs to learn how to teach
Mr. Grimble does a great job at clearly laying out the course work and criteria for the class. He's always fairly quick to respond to emails with helpful advice.
He's a nice professor and is very patient with his students
Professor Grimble gives you everything you need to succeed in this class. Most of the time, we learned from the textbook, but there were videos on the weeks that I needed extra help. He has high standards so expect to dedicate a good chunk of time to this class if you want an A! Overall, he did a great job teaching and providing useful resources.
the class structure was clear and the amount of homework per week was manageable.
Though there was a ton of homework, Jalen's class was well organized with clear expectations. He was also always there to help and promptly responded with answers to any questions.
I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to get better at Excel. Get ready for homework from w3. Make sure you communicate with him if there were any technical issues with office hours - it took me about 2 weeks before I was able to meet up to have my questions answered. He is willing to work with anyone who wants to get better at Excel.
There is a lot of material to cover through this class. Make sure you read the weekly overviews since some assignments were hidden in there. I recommend this class to anyone who's willing to work for their grade, and had some prior Excel knowledge. Otherwise there's a step learning curve
Jalen was very helpful this term. Answered all questions in a timely manner and was very knowledgeable on the subject.
He was a good professor
NOT BA 150 but BA 100. I thought this class was just going to be a 2 credit filler for my transcript, but holy cow was I wrong. This prof has so lots of valuable info on preparing for your career, and a reasonable homework workload too. You may want to record the zoom lectures if you're a notetaker as he's a fast talker.
His support was lacking, the concepts were still new to us, and he provided minimal guidance. The lectures always felt rushed leaving the impression that he was eager to leave. Our assignments were either graded automatically by Simlet. When assignment errors occurred, he simply deducted points, even though he acknowledged the mistakes.
(101 not available here, taken)Grimble is an extremely, extremely harsh grader, and the grading criteria is clear as mud; he will grade you poorly for not following the word count that is never stated. Formal writing is frowned upon (in a business class, yeah), and accusations of AI use are common. Save your sanity. Do not take any of his classes.
Such a great professor! He is highly communicative. The assignments were well thought out and creative. Great opportunities for extra credit. I enjoyed this course and would take any of his courses again.
I would recommend this instructor because he was responsive to emails and did reply when I reached out with questions. Even though it sometimes took a little while, he made the effort to support students and provide feedback. The class was organized and I learned useful Excel skills that can be applied in the workplace.
I'm currently taking the online version of the Data Analytics course and Jalen is very responsive, thorough and the course is well paced. While there are no lectures, do feel like Im learning something new each week that builds on the previous week's learnings. The assignments are detailed and easy to follow. I highly recommend this course!

An encouraging instructor who provides helpful answer keys to check projects. First half of the term is manageable but be prepared for the second half to get much more fast-paced. You will work heavily in Excel and Tableau, ending with significant final projects in both. If you pay attention to the feedback files, you can easily secure an A.
This could've been an online class not sure why attendance is mandatory when there's literally less than 10 minutes worth of lecture at each class if any.
Very frustrating when I'm taking a in person class with almost no lectures this could've very easily been an online class not sure if there's just a schools way of charging more or these teachers just checked out
