Hard class. His test don't revolve around the text book.
He is nice, but sometimes think all these students will doctors and nurses. Course is too rigorous for HIM program.
He is worst teacher I have ever had. He goes too fast for all the information we need to learn. Doesn't like to be bothered with questions that sidetrack him from his goal of a chapter a week with memorization of all the bones of the body within 2 weeks and then 2 weeks for all the muscles. He also has a severe case of OCD. Terrible, nasty teacher.
Worst teacher I have ever had. Doesn't want to be bothered with questions even if you don't understand. Not an understanding, compassionate teacher and has absolutely no empathy
Great teacher. Well organized. Not an easy class. If you put forth the effort, you will do well.
I really enjoyed his class. I am actually taking another course taught by him this semester and hope to take the following one next semester. If you pay attention and participate in class, he is an awesome professor.
Great Professor. HAs a well defined and strict schedule for the whole semester. if you pay attention and participate you will do great in his class. Very knowledgeable as well.
This is very fast paced class with a great deal of information to cover and master in a semester. The content is complex and you will have to put forth effort to do well in the class. With that being said, Dr. Fakhoury makes every effort to assist his students in doing well in his class. If you attend class and pay attention, you should do well.
Dr. J was an incredible professor. He was very knowledgeable about and really had a passion for teaching. His lecture was boring and entertaining at times due to the 3 hour block. Before EVERY test he gave a review of what you should expect on the test. Make sure you buy a recorder! It will come in handy.
Awesome instructor. Very challenging class but quite rewarding with all the knowledge you gain from it. If you have questions or need things clarified he is willing to help. Getting an A is definitely achievable!
Dr. Fakhoury is a very knowledgeable man. He has informative power points for lectures and a schedule he goes by for the semester. He goes fast but always makes sure everyone understands before he moves on. He really cares about the success of his students. Tests are hard but he reviews before each one and sometimes there is extra credit.
An A is possible you just need to work hard and study. Great teacher, helpful, learned a lot. Tests are hard but if you study you will do well.
Very interesting and enlightening class. If you want to learn, and not just get by this is the class to take. You have to work for your grade, but as long as you prepare yourself for the material, you will do well. Great professor in my book!
Amazing teacher. Knows his stuff. I learned alot. Tests are hard. Alot of homework. But he helps you every step of the way. I'm taking him again for a&p2 and I can't wait
I had his class every Tuesday for 3hrs. Not recommended. Class seemed to last for eternity He is a very well informed individual who shares all his knowledge with the class, because he wants everyone to succeed. Pluses to his class were:he would review the exams before test day & if you recorded it you essentially had the test, still need to study!
I've heard a lot of students tell me he's difficult. However, I think that although the material is hard, he makes it easier for the students. He's very organized. If you need help, you just have to go to his office and ask him. I learned a lot from his class.
The hardest class I've ever taken, but it was also the best class I've ever taken. Dr. Fakhoury knows his stuff and if you're going into a medical profession, he's the professor to take. He notices the students that actually work hard and is willing to help you succeed. Gives good amount of extra credit. Just show up every day and take good notes!!
Dr Fakkhoury is very smart and knows his subject. Attendance is mandatory. He is very willing to help. You have to study and do the homework before the lectures. Explains very clearly in his lectures the material covered. Excellent professor. If you want to learn, he is the professor to take.
Excellent instructor. Very good in teaching the topic and correlating with his clinical experience.
Very face paced lectures! You have to read the chapter BEFORE the lecture AND do the homework as well. Very organized and doesn't like to step out of his routine! He has outlined ever minute of the entire semester so don't expect to go off course or have an type of discussions in class - MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!
One of the best anatomy teacher at cf his lecture are long but interesting. He like when you ask question in class. He is a very smart professor and sometime forget that his student are not at his level,so it always good to ask for help. He give case studies as extra credit . Don't skip/ come to class later or leave early he don't like that at all.
He's tough but I learned a lot. He'll work with you and give you ways to improve. He's aweaome!!
What a fabulous professor, very intelligent, massive clinical knowledge, inspires by insisting that the students must take an active roll in learning. You must come well prepared to class, having read the section and completed the online Pearson's assignments. If you work hard and put in the effort,.. Amazing how much knowledge u retain.
His powerpoints are very helpful through out each chapter. His lectures are amazing and also helps students out very clear. I would recommend him for all anatomy courses
Fabulous instructor. Really enjoyed this class and instructor. Very knowledgeable. Lots of clinical knowledge and experience. A must have.
This is a hard class but he is a great Professor and will help you along the way, he does not accept late assignments so always do your homework no matter what it might just be your saving grace. He does assign a lot of homework but I promise it will help you. You must go to class to pass
very hard class, but fun with an amazing instructor who is very knowledgable and is willing to help his students understand what he is teaching and makes the class a fun learning environment, if you don't show up you will not pass, if you don't do your homework you will not pass, but I can't wait to take his anatomy 2 class in the summer
If you are a student looking to be hand fed an easy A then find someone else to take and give the seats in this class to the students who actually care. He is a great professor and I don't regret taking his class
Best professor I've had so far (Trust me, I've had a lot of professors). Expect a lot of homework and tough tests. If you actually study and apply yourself, he will take notice and do whatever it takes to help you get the grade you want. Attend the open labs he offers to you and put time into studying rather than just showing up expecting to pass.
Dr. Fakhoury is a very knowledgeable professor. If you are looking to show up for exams and expect to pass, find another instructor. If you are looking for a grade that reflects the effort you put in, you've come to the right place. He is very helpful if you approach him for one on one help. He always offers open labs and office hours appointments.
He was a great professor and I learned a lot. But you really have to study and do the work!
I took this class for summer A so it was tough but professor Fakhoury was really helpful and makes things easy. The homework is simple and really helps to balance out the test grade if you don't do well. One of my favorite professors.
I took this class over the summer and was it ever a challenge. Dr Jamal warned the class that we will do not else except study and live his anatomy course during the accelerated summer term. Dr Jamal is an excellent professor that really knows his anatomy, and can relate it in a way that makes you enjoy learning the material.
Dr. Fakhoury is a great professor. He knows his subject very well and is very helpful to students. He offers many different resources to students to make sure they are successful. Be prepared to study though!
Dr. J really cares for his students and will match your willingness in earning a good grade. I am taking him for BSC2086 in Fall. The value of a great instructor is without parallel. My only negative is that even though I got an A for every single test, because I missed some homework, I will probably walk away with only a B or B+. Beware HW is 50%.
Dr. Fakhoury is an amazing professor. He takes the time to make sure you understand the material. It is a very tough class but as long as you work hard and study you can easily pass. Homework is very important in his class and he gives out multiple extra credit opportunities. I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of taking his class.
He is amazing. Yes you will have to put in work but you will leave this class well informed. He is very informed and so learning is very engaging. Don't be late by any means. He seems initially unapproachable but he is very friendly. Don't be scared to ask for help he has much to give. Lots of reading but with it. I would take it again!
Dr. Fakhoury is amazing, I enjoyed his lectures. He helps you learn if you are struggling. You have to study, this is a hard class but he is awesome!
Great Professor. Make sure you read the textbook and take notes. His class is difficult but that is why he is a great teacher. He makes you learn the information rather than memorizing a study guide.
Dr. Fakhoury is a really nice man. With that being said, heed my warning: his class is EXTREMELY difficult. His lectures are VERY fast paced & you pretty much have to teach yourself the material. I am an A student and I struggled to get a C+ in his summer course. Do not take over summer. He does not give a study guide. Trick questions on tests.
Such a great professor! Took the lecture and lab with Dr. J over summer A and ended up with an A in both. If you participate and attend every class, do all of the homework assignments, and study you will for sure pass. He also offers plenty of extra credit that helps tremendously with your overall grade. One of the best at CF!
Excellent professor all around. He expect you to work hard but that's okay because he's willing to help and his lectures are great and very beneficial. I enjoyed having him as a professor.
Summer class is a lot of work very hard but if you take this instructor and do the work pay attention to the lectures DO ALL THE HOMEWORK AND SHOW UP for class study hard you will pass, I wouldn't have attempted this class during the summer without this instructor
I am currently taking his lab for BSC2085. He seems to be an amazing instructor. Extremely knowledgeable. His expectations are very high; but that is OK because he wants you to succeed. If you're looking to slide by, he is not for you. He makes you work. If you want to go somewhere in your career, he is the one for you.
I'm currently a student of Dr. Fakhoury. He is very knowledgeable, and eager to help his students. However, if you don't put the work in to learn the material, you won't do well. He can only help you, if you help yourself. I highly recommend taking his class! He is a fantastic instructor!
I am a current student of Dr. Fakhoury. Although his exams are difficult, if you do all your reading and homework, you will do well in his course. I have had him for a total of 4 classes, including mini-mesters, and he is a very kind and fair professor!
What a fantastic professor Dr Jamal is. So much clinical knowledge and experience, which he incorporates into his presentations. He can take a very complicated subject and present it in such a way that you can easily understand and remember. You must come well prepared to class and have read the chapter and online Mastering homework.
I took this class as an elective. My major is non_science. The amazing thing with Dr Fakhoury class, I was so inspired by the material and his presentations, that I am now transferring into a health field major. Very tough class but if you put in the effort and study you will do well and pass the course. Dr Fakhoury is very willing to help you.
Dr. Fakhoury's course is a must take. He breaks things down to a simple understanding and will answer any question you have. He likes to see everyone succeed and is always willing to help his students. Recording his lectures will definitely pay off if you listen to them while studying.
Dr Fakhoury is an amazing teacher. He really cares about his students. Many students spend time studying with him once a week and that's what really helps to get an A in this class. His tests are very straight forward and he also does a review and lets you know what to study for the tests. I would take him for every science class if I could.
He's a great teacher, he's very knowledgeable and informative. The only thing is that his tests are quite difficult. Make sure you write notes when he reviews the test, because a lot of those questions are actually on the test.
Very nice professor. Hes very knowledgeable and informative. You must read the book to pass his tests. Gives a lot of other work to off-set bad test scores. He tries his best to help you pass but you must work for it and go to class. If studying isn't your thing, DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Really good professor and really good person. If you want to learn A&P I or II he will teach you it cold. It will be a lot of work and it wont be easy but it will be so worth it and by the end trust that this man will make you great.
Started with Basic A & P with Dr. Fakhoury. Made sure to register for his A&P 1 and 2 lecture and lab courses. He is very organized. You know what is expected to do well in the class. Key information is covered several times in class. But keeping up with the homework assignments and reading are crucial. Class is hard work but i learned a lot.
Not an easy class to pass and his tests are hard. He offers lots of extra credit. He lectures extremely well and helps you learn all of the material. If you are doing this during the summer be prepared. I took A&P 1&2 with him over the summer it was fast paced and challenging.
He's the type of professor that wants you to do well and wants you to want to do well. By that I mean you have to care about your studies and be able to put the time into the material. His class was challenging, but in a good way. I learned more than I thought I could. His class was not impossible, just be ready to put your mind to it. Very nice.
Dr. J is very wise and he wants you to know everything he knows if not all then a great portion. It's homework, all online. He's very organized. Easy A if you come to class and put in the work. Always gives Extra credit. By far my favorite professor!!!
Dr J is an anatomy/physiology genius.
Lab with Dr J is helpful when taking lecture simultaneously
Dr. Fakhoury ensures that you know the material covered in his lectures. If you are looking for a class that is a breeze, this isn't it. Make sure you are at class on time. Studying is crucial for his class. During class, he is dedicated to his student's success. Yes, it's going to be a lot of work, but it's 100% worth it.
Dr. Fakhoury is over qualified to be teaching at this facility. He is kind, genuine, and really cares about you and your success. That being said, you have to meet him half way. Show up to class, if you have a problem talk to him, and for the love of god go to the open lab. Don't procrastinate on the homework either. Best teacher I've ever had.
Knows a lot of information but is horrible at teaching. He expects everyone to know the material like he does and treats you like an idiot if you do not. The lab practicals are very hard because he expects you to know it off the top of your head. There are no word banks or anything for them. The practicals are just pictures with blanks and arrows..
Dr. J is a very caring professor, he wants everyone to pass. He is a tough teacher, but he wants you to learn. I wish I took him for more than just A&P 2.
Dr. J is an awesome teacher, I took him for Basic Anatomy and enjoyed the class so much that I made sure to take him for my next two Anatomy classes. Straight-forward and highly informative lectures that really leave you knowing the subject and if not he is always willing to help if you come to him early on. Goes over every test beforehand.
He is a very kind man I am currently taking his class this semester. He gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. He also goes over what is on the tests and what to study. Prepare to study a lot I'm talking about an hour or 2 a day. It's a hard class but if you study you will be okay.
Im currently a student of his- and I can easily say that he is the most thorough teacher Ive ever had. He is very knowledgeable and more than willing to help you if youre struggling - with that being said, he will not help you if youre not putting in the effort. Anyone with a bad review of his teaching is a poor student that didnt ask for help
LOTS of homework, quizzes, tests, on top of studying. Midterm is on all bones and muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments. Worth more than half of your grade. Very challenging. No curve, and if you answer one question wrong on a 3 part question, you get the whole thing wrong. Hardest class Ive ever taken, and Dr. J is not very understanding. Beware.
Midterm is worth 400 points of your grade, so its a big deal. Its on all the bones and all muscles in the body and you only have a couple weeks to learn it. Dr. J is intimidating and downright mean. Im doing okay in the class and I have a 3.8 average gpa, but I would not take him ever again. This is a challenging class but he makes it even worse
So much busy work homework online and in the back of the book, takes away from your study time for the more important things. Wouldnt recommend this professor.
This was the hardest class that i have taken at the college and it was my first experience in his class coming from an anatomy class that was very very easy. I respect professor Fakhoury and he taught me more than i could;d have ever asked to learn. As i am looking to become a nurse, he is the best bet to get you prepared for the real world.
Best professor there is. Period. As long as he sees that you're trying, he'll go above and beyond to help you. You HAVE to study there is no other way to pass his class.
great teacher, he will not stop teaching until the student gets the topic. he provides alot of resources to help us understand the topic. very passionate in teaching. i almost quit his class, but i tried to enjoy it, and its worth staying. if you wanna learn take his class.
He will ensure you know what you need to know!
He is hands down the BEST A&P professor at CF. His class was difficult; you truly have to understand the material & work hard. He will help you!! Study, seek tutoring, and/or meet with him. He gives tons of extra credit and will help you every step of the way. Hes VERY passionate and caring. Id take his class again in a heart beat. Hes the best!
Dr. Fakhoury was the best professor I've ever had in all my science classes prior to my nursing program. He is easy to talk to and always willing to help the students who are eager to learn to improve their knowledge. When he teaches he go outside the box to make students understand the topic.
One of the best teachers I've had at this school. Definitely not one you want to take if you want to slack off and not do any work. If you want to learn, and actually learn(drill information in your head learning), take Dr.J. He will ensure that you learn everything about Anatomy and Physiology.
All around a great prof. He offers extra credit for the semester & usually for the tests. Hes a strict grader & serious about attendance. If you dont go to class you probably wont pass. Ive taken three of his different classes & labs, theres a reason his classes fill up quick, he gives you every thing you need to pass his exams.
I was a bit apprehensive towards him at first, but was so thankful for him towards the end of the semester. I had him for A&P 2, which is a tough class, there's no way around that, but he taught so well and I felt understood that it was a rough class. He tried to make it as easy on us as he could. Tests aren't heavily weighted either!
If you're lazy and if you think you can just get by without reading, studying, or showing up to his lectures, don't take his class. He is tough, but you will learn. He gives a lot of homework, but it's to your benefit to learning the material. He may seem unfair, but it's quite the opposite. He cares deeply for his students. The best Prof. there is
Brilliant professor, great for students who already know about the subject and or is a fast learner. Wouldnt recommend if you are a bad test taker or need it to be slower paced. Keys to passing is memorization and use tutoring and you can.
Dr. J is a teacher that is worth taking. If you actually want to learn and advance your education on human anatomy, then I recommend taking him. If youre looking for a easy way to get the credit then dont waste your time. If youre going to pay $400 for a class, might as well learn the material. Highly recommend him if youre going into nursing.
Dr. J is very nice, but I don't think his class is very fair. Midterm was 200 points and final was 400 points, both are all fill in the blank (so they're pretty hard). Lots of homework. 2-4 online assignments due in lecture a week and in lab 2-3 online assignments and 2-3 book assignments due a week. Do your homework and it'll keep your grade up.
After reading the reviews below I was even more anxious to take this class. However, to my surprise it was not that bad at all. Yes, you will have homework due promptly at 8am weekly, you must STUDY, BUT he gives you extra credit on tests and is helpful! If you show him effort he will meet you 80% of the way. Gives great reviews before test day!
You will learn so much but you will work hard for it. You will have lots of homework but it will be programming your mind as you do it. He's a very nice and friendly professor.
This was one of the hardest classes I've taken so far, but Dr. J has made anatomy easier for me to actually understand what we are learning. Just make absolutely sure you study for every class. He'll help you out as long as you ask him. For extra help, utilize the open labs and tutoring center. I think Dr. J was awesome, and I think you will too!
Dr. J is a great professor. You will learn more than you thought you could. Studying is a necessity and you will not pass if you do not show up. He wants the best for each of his students. It is for sure a tough class but you will learn a lot. Take advantage of the open labs and office hours to speak with him about anything you don't understand.
Missed class you wont pass, be prepared to read, listen to the test reviews pay a attention. Everything he teaches you will be in the nursing program. You get what grade u earned. Hes amazing professor I will be taking his A&P 2 this summer . If your struggling speaking with him he will help you.
Dr. Fakhoury was great!! His class was definitely challenging to take especially during the summer, but he does his part in teaching and the rest is up to you. Going to the open labs is a crucial to learning the bones and muscles!! I highly recommend taking his class!!
I took both lecture and lab with Dr. Fakhoury and I'm glad I did! I've learned so much in such a short period of time and I would do it again!! He encourages you to study, record him, go to the open labs, to utilize your sources wisely and he's right. You get what you put into this class!! He's a GREAT and VERY smart professor!!
Hes an amazing teacher I took him for A&P 1 and now A&P 2 . If youre struggling ask him he will do everything in his power to help you pass his class but you better be willing to help yourself and do the work. Hes an amazing professor you will learn more and then any other student in his class
I highly do not recommend you taking this professor. He makes his class way harder than its supposed to be. Especially for lab. Expect to do a ton of homework each week. He also moves at a very fast pace, so it is very hard to retain all of the information.
