Very fun and personable. Has an accent. Quizzes are chosen from homework problems, and all questions about the homeworks are answered before class, so you should pass all quizzes. Also allows a page of notes for tests.

Mr. Salahat is very good and I agree he does know what he's talking about. He's also fair in his grading. I just wish I had more math to take!

Worth taking class just for his sexy accent

This guy makes math seem too easy. It is like a walking math book, never did he get one question wrong nor backed out. He makes math easy and you learn from it because he also makes it fun.

He doesn't teach out of the book but uses his knowledge along with the book to give not only the books way of doing things but also his way which is usually easier. Plus he's got a great sense of humor. Usually requires little if any homework. Only 3 or 4 test and a final. 10 problems per test.

Jamal is a great teacher!He is always there to help and has plenty of funny stories to tell. I learned a lot!Love the accent!

Considering that everyone gives the man credit only for looks, makes him look bad dont ya think! He is a great professer and lays everything out there for ya to understand. He basically hands the test to you in the palm of your hand and makes class fun to be in! When he speaks of his personal life at school..HES NOT SERIOUS!

Perfect teacher. Kept to his syllabus better that any teacher i've ever seen before. Always available for tutoring. Good sense of humor, he really kept class interesting. Doesn't assign homework but its in your best interests to do a lot anyways, as with any math course.

I took Jamal's web based Business Calculus course. Honestly, I never met the man nor did I have any reason to contact him during the semester. The class was conducted on CourseCompass, which is very easy. He assigned 7 HW (50 pts each) and 7 tests (100 pts each). I thought the class was incredibly easy. If you're bad at math don't take it online!

he is an awesome professor. extremely helpful has time around class to answer any questions. never bought a book, never used it. he has an estatic sense of humor, will talk about anything, so the class is very laid back. just make sure you attend classes everything you need to know he goes over in class. he is also cute and definately worth taking.

I loved him! He was one of the best teachers ever. Math comes easy to me so it was kind of repetitive but wasn't boring. He wasn't too serious and liked to joke around. Easy on the eyes as well!

The BEST teacher I have ever had for any subject. He responds to emails with an hour, sometimes even sooner. His lectures are extremely helpful. He is actually really funny as well. He encourages those who need help to come see him after class. He brakes the material down to elementary school level to make it easier. Take him, you will pass!

Professor Salahat taught every part that was on the homework and the tests so that ANYONE could understand statistics. I struggle with any type of math and if you go to every class and do your homework you will end up with a grade that you actually deserve. He answers email questions and is available if you need assistance.

When I seen he taught Stats I knew I had to get into his class. Make sure you add his class ASAP when registration opens they fill up fast! Jamal is so funny and extremely helpful!! :)

He really did save my semester! We had a terrible teacher and he came in and showed us the light. He teaches with enthusiasm and really breaks down the problem for you. I took this class online and it was pretty good. I've always had a knack for math so I didn't need too much help. But when I did, he answered back really quick. He gave you a lot of videos and helpful tools in the homework to help you get ready for the tests.

I took this class online and it is a breeze if you catch on easy. There was much homework, but you get 2 chapters at a time and needs to be completed within a months time frame. At the end of the month, there was an exam on those 2 chapters. Professor responds back to emails almost immediately. Take Jamal, he will make it so worth your time!!!

We used MyMathLab and whenever I had a question, he was there to answer. I didn't ask as much because MyMathLab is pretty explanatory. He lists his expectations at the beginning of the course. I liked that fact that we had two weeks to do homework then the weekend of the second week to do the test. Tests are like 15 questions over a chapter.

I took him for statistics and he was great! Everything is online and he shows you how to do all the problems by hand and through Statcrunch. He gives you a lot of time to the homework which is normally around 30 questions! He's extremely nice and caring and makes it easy to understand! Would definately recommend taking him!!!

Although he explained everything in lecture, it was a lot of info to remember. All homework is online and so are the test. He curved your grade. Always willing to help when needed. If you missed class, he didn't care as long as you emailed an excuse on why. You can tell he loves his job. I thought he was awesome.

I am no math whiz and I got a B in the class. It was my error and would have easily gotten an A which I will explain . Make sure to open stat crunch before you start your exam because you may not be able to after you start the exam. All is done online. He has his own step by step videos and teaches the subject better than the math website.

Math is not my strongest subject but he did an excellent job of explaining things. His grading is lenient but that's not what makes this class easier than others, it's that he does a great job of explaining things and provides a lot of resources so that you'll succeed. Plus, he's hilarious. His class was 2hrs long at 8 am and still motivating go to.

One of the best professors I've ever had. He is extremely admirable, it's hard to miss a class because he makes them entertaining. I always looked forward to attending. Professor Salahat wants you to succeed, so he stresses going over any work in class and answering ANY&EVERY question and takes you through a lot of examples to help you understand.

This is the best teacher Ive had at my time at Owens. He gives you options. Learn by hand ( the long way) or use technology (stat crunch). The way he teaches both is easy to understand. Hes a very funny, understanding man. I even had to bring my 10 year old one day and he didnt mind. Wish more taught like him. Highly recommended.

Very kind teacher. Very funny he wants you to do your best. Attendance is important to him because without being in class you wont get to understand how to use MyStatLab. He is willing to fix answers on test if you are off a point or so and is very easy to contact for help understanding a chapter. He uses alot of examples in class to help as well.

Online class, went great. Professor Salahat has a great selection of videos on how to use StatCrunch to be successful in his class. Answers emails promptly. Fair system for homework (100% possible, just keep working problems). Tests are straightforward, from the homework. No tricks. If you do well on homework you will do fine on tests.

Very helpful. He cares if you pass and wants to help you succeed. He makes sure that you understand what's going on and will go over it as many times as you need. If you have questions about homework you just have to ask and he will help you through it. You do have to go to class, but going to class makes it way easier to understand.

I am not by any means what you would call "good" at math. However, I actually understood the material that was taught during this course and was able to get an A. Mr. Salahat is nice and cares about students' success. I appreciated how he posted lectures to walk students through certain stat problems; it was very helpful.

Salahat overall was a great professor. He gives you time to work on homework, watch his lectures, and his tests are pretty much the homework. Half of his tests are proctored, but those lessons seemed a bit easier. Definitely have to watch the lectures, but he also has step-by-step videos on each problem. Just be prepared to put in the work.

I took an asynchronous class so attendance wasn't mandatory. He records lectures for early day classes so you have examples. Text book doesn't really help, use his recorded lectures they are the key to passing!

Professor Salahat is very caring and accessible whenever you have questions. I took Intro to Statics as a CCP class and was nervous about my first college math class. I ended up liking it better than the high school ones! Professor Salahat explains things very well and his videos and notes are very helpful.

I am so glad I got Professor Salahat for stats. He made the class very easy, it would be difficult to get anything below a C. Of course, you still have to put in the work to get a good grade but he literally hands you answers on a silver platter. If you watch all his homework videos and take good notes you'll pass. Take him you won't regret it!!

Made stats fun to learn and I actually enjoyed going to this class. He is funny and his lectures always kept me focused and I never felt bored. I would recommend going to as many classes as possible because he does award extra credit and I got 20 points extra for not missing any classes. Take his class!

He was very very easy. I have always been terrible at stats but as long as you follow along with his hw vids and write down everything he says, your tests and hw are basically done for you. He also does extra credit at the end of the semester and allows you a week to redo anything missing or any previous work you want to redo.

This is the first online professor I have had that appears to actually care about his students and what he is teaching. If you follow his teaching, you will get an A no problem!

He's caring, if you ask a question he won't make you feel bad about yourself. if you pay attention in class, do your hw and study a little bit you can get an A easily. there are 5 exams, he offers extra credit for each one. he's truly kind and genuine. exams come from hw so if you do ur hw and take notes you will be fine.

I took this class completely online (traditional). This professor made stats easy to understand. The material is straight forward and his online recordings of lectures helped so much. He also has recordings of lectures for hw problems if you don't understand them.

Definitely a difficult class but he has so many resources available to learn. You get to learn how to do all of the math with formulas, which is helpful to know vs. just using your calculator. He released assignments for me ahead of time bc I was going to Europe for 2 weeks, he is so helpful and I'm so grateful for his help!

Professor Salahat is probably one of the best teachers you will have at your time at Owens. All work is very clearly outlined with due dates. He had a homework and test due every week. These are both easy to complete if you just watch the videos attached. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Stay on top of it and you'll ace this class.

STATS is not easy at all. But with Professor Salahat you literally cant fail unless you dont try. Took him online and felt like it was in person with all of the help he offers and the resources.

He is extremely lenient and will not let you fail if he sees that you are trying and showing up to class. All homework/quizzes/exams are online- not monitored but timed. Everything is also open note.
