I thought I was going to have to repeat this course but he worked with me over and beyond the regular course. I am so thankful.

I can't understand WHY someone would rate this guy as bad??? I thought he was super helpful and nice. i wish i had more teachers like him. he is a bit heavy with the HW and doesnt give alot of points for it, but this IS college so just do the work, pay attention and study and you'll get a decent grade.

god, he is hot! he is nice! he can teach! he's the perfect teacher for math 71! i am pretty good at math and i got an A in his class. but in my opinion, as long as you are hard working, you will be fine in his class. he's a great teacher!! and he's funny if you get to know him well!

Great professor will help student to understand the subject if they are willing to work. Moves a little fast but takes time to explain things.

Mr. Abott was very helpful. He uses many techniques in his teaching to aid struggling students grasp the material. He even stayed after to tutor students in need of assistance. He was a great instructor and i strongly recommend him to anyone taking this course.

I took this class with a different teacher before and there was a ton of difference. Mr. Abbott was very helpful and he really wanted us to learn the material. He gave a lot of work, but gave us time to do it in class and answered many questions while we were doing it. He is a great teacher to take this class from :)

Great professor for the student that wants to learn math. Philosophy: I guess I am here for the F-student not the A students. Will clarify meaningful questions. Student does need to know basic skills ot they could get lost as he will move fast at times. Best professor on campus.

Mr. Abbott is a very helpful teacher, and he really cares about his students. He walks around in class trying to make sure everybody understands the material. Quizzes and tests are based on covered material, so don't expect any surprises when taking a test. Excellent professor!

great teacher, he is funny and know what he's talking about. if you don't like hearing a lot of lecture then take him, he pretty much lets you learn the material on your own. he moves fast but is more than willing to help you understand the material. daily hw is easy, so are his quizzes and tests.

Mr. Abbott was a great teacher. I took him in the summer and he was very helpful. He's always walking around the class and is eager to answer questions. By far the BEST math teacher I have ever had in my life and I hate math. Does not lecture too much, but is still very helpful. Took him during summer, which goes by quicker, and still passed with a B. I didnt even do all the hw or the 20 e.c. pts. for going to MARC Lab. Just a bonus that the teacher is a cutie. Easy A class!

by far the BEST teacher i have had at MSAC I can not recomend him more! he even saw me like a year later and said hi and asked me how i was doing. he even came in an saturday to help us who were struggling! great great guy! i almost wish i needed more math so i could take him again...almost!

This is just a beginning Algebra but there's lots of concepts to learn but is good at letting you know what's needed for tests. Answers questions concisely. Says "A" students sit in the front two center seats - this is helpful if you are serious about passing the class. Relates math to life and careers.

He's forgetful sometimes, but for the most part he does a good job. He works in the math lab too, so it's very convenient if you need additional help.

Super cool. great instructor! he makes sure you understand the material and doesn't overwhelm you with tons of homework! The class had a tendancy to get noisy making it difficult to concentrate at times. Loved him will be taking 71 with him...hurry up James and teach a 71 course!

Very clear. Prepares us for the exams extremely well. The only professor available in the MARC Lab that stays after to help struggling students. Take this instructor.

AMAZING.... Professor! By far the best teacher at Mt. Sac I have ever had. Makes math fun and understandable! Coming from someone who HATES MATH. Refer to him as LORD ABBOTT. And remember this saying and say it with conviction.... IN ABBOTT WE TRUST!

He was a great teacher, really broke it down into easy steps. If you are someone who has math problems, don't get behind, use the lab. (20 xtra credit pts. for 20 hrs.) If I had one criticism, it would be that he is too lenient towards the just graduated from High school crowd, they can get obnoxious fast.

I found this professor to have a partnership with his students, which is needed for the students to learn the material that is being presented. He is clear and helpful

He's nice, but sometimes confusing when he teach. but he's pretty easy, he doenst require u to memorize any formula, cause it will available during the quiz and exam. he's very helpful, he always offers help for anyone. he's pretty diorganized, he rarely pass back homework n quiz i dont think he gives u credit for hw though he said so. he's ok, but its an easy A class, trust me

had him during the summer session. he's very helpful and makes sure you understand the material. You use the book a lot. Tests arent that bad.

I think I am getting a "C" I enjoyed this class, I really like the way he teaches. Funny!!!! ask him about the two talking muffins...2 exams, final, homework every class meeting, it does help to do it. Extra credit 20 hours at MARC Center... overall good professor.

abbott is so cool.. he is so funny you really need a sence of humor.. it's really not personal though.. but i highly recommend him..the semester goes by a whole lot faster cause he keeps you wanting to learn.. he goes out of his way to insure his students pass

He's a funny teacher. He's very down to Earth. Explains things well.

Class was totally easy to understand and if you ever missed something back in high school Math 50 is an awesome refresher. Teacher is laid back but he does want you to show up for class. If you dont it doesnt mean you'll fail but he definitely notices. He also hang out in the Math lab a bit so he can always help with homework.

FANTASTIC teacher! Incredibly sarcastic. Lessons are very clear. Quizzes and Tests are easy. Homework is assigned and collected. Took two math classes with this guy, he's great. Aced both of them. =]

He is really cool and very helpful. It is a hard class but he gives extra credit for going to the marc. HW is a must.

All you have to do is attend and do the work as he instructs. it is really easy how he explains it. very direct. I really do recommend him if you have trouble with math.

Good professor, (just dont miss any of the classes or you can fall behind quite easily.) and he is always available in The MARC lab for questions. Studying and Homework is a must because it def. is not the easiest class. Highly Recommend him.

He's a great professor, dry sense of humor, and his lectures are real simple and easy to understand if you attend class at all times. If you study all his quizes, you'll pass his exams.

As long as you read the material in the book, his lecture will be easy to understand. He's always at the T-marc ready to help. If you take some time to do the homework and understand it, you'll do well in the class.

he is a good/complicated teacher i got pure D+ on all my quizzes & test, A's on all 3 of my computer projects which are really easy & he gives extra credit for going to the TMARC & i passed the class w/ a C but i actually got more help from the tutors from the TMARC & he like only went over one quiz & test but returned work pretty fast

I took this professor a while ago but after transfering i realize how helpful this class was. I felt really prepared at fullerton. Keep up the great work!!!

He is a great instructor and math lab director. Take lots of notes, he likes to cover problems that encompass the entire section.

Professor Abbott is a happy, funny guy. He likes to talk about conspiracy theory or other fun subjects to lighten up the class and make you less nervous about Math. The math homework is given in advance and usually due the next week or at the end of the chapter. He is very helpful, cares about students and seems to be a very positive person.

This class was a breeze. Mind you I am quite the math lover so it was expected. Class is ran usually the same every time and the syllabus tells you which chapters will be during which class. Homework due at end of chapter. No study guides, study your homework/quizzes to pass. Would take again!

AMAZING PROFESSOR. SUPER HELPFUL, CARING AND FUNNY. STUDY WHAT HE GIVES YOU BACK IN THE QUIZZES AND TEST. ALSO, STUDY ALL HE WRITES ON THE BOARD. HE IS ALSO AVAILABLE AFTER CLASS AND ALWAYS WILLING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.

Professor Abbot is super funny; he keeps the class interesting, which is tough since math is boring. Take notes during lectures and do your homework and you have your study material for the tests. It is a super easy class if you are familiar with math concepts and gives extra credit, so it's pretty easy to get an A.

As someone who struggles with math I found Prof Abbott to be a wonderful teacher. I had already failed 71 once when I took it with him. He made absolutely sure we understood the material. He explained each concept in more than one way and was in the MARC a lot of the time, so readily available if you needed help. Didn't hurt that he was funny too.

Took this class Fall 2018. Prof. Abbott is pretty cool. He tells dad jokes all the time. Great sense of humor. He teaches math in an easy to understand way. Whats in the lectures is on the quizzes and tests. Do your homework, utilize the MARC lab, and you'll be okay. Dont shy away from asking for help.

I don't know why there are bad reviews this teacher is great. His online transition was great. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was doing okay. To get an F you had to completely stop trying. All his lecture videos posted. All questions on hw test quizzes were open for discussion. I've always struggled in math and this was a breeze.

Took during winter! We met M-Th just to check in. Meetings only around 10-40 minutes. Professor Abbott would answer any homework questions or go over some material during these meetings. The actual lectures are pre-recorded and there were minimal homework problems. Tests were very similar to homework. Def stay on top of hw and you'll be good!

Professor Abbott is a very helpful and caring professor! He is a professor you can tell really wants all his students to succeed. Homework is straightforward and weighed with the exams. Very easy class if you watch lectures, complete all homework, and take advantage of exams having no time limit.

Honestly this professor is very caring and helpful. He is very understanding. I really liked this class online because I was able to start lectures over again if I didn't understand them. He let me do 2 test past the due date. If you need this class I recommend this professor!!

The class structure was really easy to follow with clear instructions. All of the work is paced mainly of your own volition, if you slack off you can fall behind. Prof provides videos going over the difficult hw problems which help you're stuck. Exams are difficult and harder than homework, but it makes sense since the entire class is online.
