Makes class interesting by poking fun at the Leafs and telling side stories. Makes math not as boring as it can be. Work gets harder as the class goes along.

Too much sports, boring class and overall wasted time copying down notes word by word. If only he would sell them in a package, class would be more entertaining. Regardless though, he's a good guy and he will help you out if needed.

Rock on Adcock. Too bad Ms. Becker went back to Africa but I don't think anyone had a problem with it. Prof. Adcock deals in excellent lectures and the occassional stab at the Leafs. Doesn't matter though Who watches Hockey anyways? LOL

Professor Adcock is pretty cool. He is willing to help and his exams aren't hard. His classes are boring, but stats isn't exactly riveting. Make sure you go to the first class to hear him make fun of his own name.

Sometimes with large classes he can make thinks confusing for some. However if you just go talk to him outside of class, he can really help. He knows his stuff. He is also very approchable, so don't worry about that.

the course is a joke b/c everyone finds old exams and he recycles questions. impossible not to get an A if you attend class and pay attention, but a couple of his exam questions can be a little tricky. he's incredibly boring and thinks we care about his personal life

He's ridiculously funny. Really quite a jackass, but in a very funny way. I personally enjoyed the tangents about his personal life, and make sure you go to the first class (its priceless). The content is not hard, but as boring as he is funny. Don't take this class at night. Three hours is too long. You will want to go home.

Altough his sense of humour is amusing, he displayed his frustrations w/ class when they did not understand the material. He would also centre students out if there was no class participation which made him quite unapproachable. Also, told class he would post practice exams for final and never followed through. Would not recommend.

I'm not sure what the last person is talking about. He tries to make sure that you know your stuff and there's anything wrong with that. After taking his class, I can say that I understand stats and it's because of him. I would definitely recommend him and his class.

Horrible Leaf bashing every class. Too much pent up rage. Not the nicest, clearest prof but if you work hard and are good at math you can do well. Keep up and do lots of practice. MUST GO TO LECTURES FOR EXAMS. In retrospect, I could have done much better.

A good overall prof especiallly since his department does not have that many. Was clear and organized. Was interesting at times and had some good examples that made him easy to understand. If you need this course, take it with him.

EASY AND FUNNY PROF! Lectures can get long and boring at times, but his jokes will wake u up! Course material is a joke (do Grade 12 probability for first semester!). And loves to diss the Leafs a lot!

Professor Adcock was very smart and very clear on expectations. I did very well in the class but I found him arrogant and annoyed whenever I went for help or asked a question. I had to turn to fellow students for help because he was unwelcoming.

What a great instructor! I missed half of his classes and still came out with 83%! He knows the material cold and he's very easy to talk to. Not only that, he made time to squeeze in real life lessons, like negotiating with mortgage officers.

seems pretty good at the start... then all he does is gives formulas and examples straight out of the textbook. he pretends to know whats he's talking about but all he does is copy down and repeat his premade lecture notes.

Ridiculous hard exams, the only reason I bothered studying my ass off was so I wouldn't fail. I do not consider myself dumb in the least but that class always made me stupid because I couldn't keep up with the hyperspeed he used on his overheads and examples. Once I found out my next math was with him, I dropped out immediately!!!!!!

Awesome professor. I found his classes very interesting. He's very easy-going and explains things thoroughly, though a bit hastened. He's also very helpful outside of class. If he'd be teaching any courses I need to take in the future, I'm definetly picking him.

Goes WAY too quickly, almost seems impatient or rude when people don't get it right away. Try to keep things light by making jokes, most which fall flat. Wouldn't take another course with him.

He's a genuine and fun guy. His jokes are original but they're hard to laugh at first thing in the morning. Teaching-wise, he's solid in explaining things although he goes a little fast. He's good for help outside of class as well. As for his exams, they're much easier than you'd expect and the questions are very similar to the practice ones.

There is almost no point in going to the lectures. The power point slides and lectures are taken directly from the textbook. Not enough examples beside the ones in the text to efficiently help students who are not strong in mathematics. Refusal of answering past exam questions limits a student's practise opportunity. Not recommended!

Had him for Finite Math. I really have to agree with the two people below me. His practice questions are TOTALLY different then his exams and he zooms past lectures way to fast. I would not recommend him if you aren't a very strong math student. Exams overall, are fairly challenging, and hes not the best to go to if you don't understand something.

Great prof. Lectures fast, sure, BUT if you do all your homework and are reasonably profient in math you will be fine. Received a mid-80 in this course after a 5+ year break between HS and Uni, makes some rather difficult concepts easy to grasp with a good explantion of fundamental concepts and supporting examples.

He is honestly the best stats teacher. I took his class at King's. He jokes around and goes out of his way to help you succeed in the course. I suck at math and the reason I got through the course was because of him. If you are are taking stats try to get into his class...seriously!

AMAZING prof. He is very funny and crystal clear. He posts his slides which is very nice. Suggestion is to print them off before class and then take side notes in class. He is very helpful and cares for the well-being of his students. Tests are fair so make sure you do your homework!

Great professor, very enthusiastic and makes a lot of jokes (hockey fans will love him). Explains content thoroughly and responds to emails very quickly, which is great for last minute questions. Pay attention in class and do your homework, you'll do fine

James Adcock was by far the worst prof I'v had in my life. Please do not take stats 2035, take econometrics... You wont get the 70% needed to maintain Honors. Our class average was 55%... yes 55% going into the final exam! The low mark speaks volumes of James' teaching and tough exams. I'm a high 80/low 90 student and finished with a mid 60........

Definitely one of the most difficult math courses I've taken, but I've never taken a stats course before. I took this online, in the summer. Professor Adcock was responsive and helpful when explaining concepts in the forum. Tests and quizzes were quite difficult (much harder than textbook questions), but definitely tests your understanding.
