He is not harsh grader. No homework. Only two assignments. Quizzes are online and exams are based on the lectures.
Dr. Arnone is a fair, caring professor and a great guy. Attendance is not mandatory for BIO218, but is necessary to sustain a good grade. He provides weekly study guides based upon the material studied in lecture and hosts review sessions the day prior to exams. Also he's easily accessible outside of class and responds quickly to emails.
Dr. Arnone is wonderful! He works very hard to make sure his class is enjoyable and reasonable. the class can be tough but he does his best to make it easier extra credit/study guides. He is quick to respond to emails and help out students who are struggling. Very understanding, fun, and knowledgeable about the subject. Sometimes brings his dog :)
Dr. Arnone is one of the best professors I've had. He is always willing to help outside of class, hosts review sessions before every test, posts weekly study guides and offers lots of extra credit. No homework and quizzes are all online. He is very fair with his grading and just an all around great guy.
Dr. Arnone has been my favorite professor. The course is content heavy but he does everything in his power to ensure the best grades for his students. He gives review sheets, holds study sessions, and is in his office a lot, especially around exam time. His exams are fair, he offers extra credit and is always willing to help.He also brings his dog!
Dr. Arnone is a great professor. Genetics is not an easy course but he tries to help his students as much as he can. He holds review sessions, uploads study guides, and has a lot of flexibility for office hours. Attendance isn't mandatory but the exams are based on what is done in lecture, so it's important to attend all classes.
Dr. Arnone is an amazing professor and I would take him again if I need too. Always available outside of class, he's easy to talk with and give a lot of feedback.
Dr. Arnone is very approachable and happy to help students. He has high expectations on lab reports, but is super helpful if you go to see him in office hours. The content can be hard, but he really cares about his students succeeding.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor for genetics. He is a very fair grader and gives a ton of extra credit opportunities so it is pretty easy to get a good grade in his class. Don't buy a hard copy of the textbook, because you will have to buy their online program anyway to take the take-home quizzes and it comes with an online version of the book.
Attend office hours to help with the lab reports. Do the study guides/Pearson homework/attend the review sessions diligently & you will do very well in this course. He is a fair grader who offers many extra credit opportunities on exams, so it is easy to get a good grade in his class. Don't waste your money the textbook either, I never opened it.
Great professor who truly cares about his students. Be prepared to study! Provides great study guides. Go to office hours! For lab reports, he is very helpful, and I recommend meeting with him. Don't buy textbook, you will buy an online program that has it. Offers lots of extra credit/review. If you put in the work, you will do well.
Dr. Arnone has been one of my favorite professor's. His class is challenging but he makes the lectures enjoyable. If you study hard you will do very well in his class. He gives out lots of extra credit so take up those opportunities. He was always willing to help in any way possible.
Great professor. Very accessible for extra help! thank you!
Always available for extra help. I would definitely recommend students take advantage of this. Always has opportunities for extra credit - super helpful seeing this is definitely a difficult course. He always provides study guides and if you know the study guide it is very likely you will do very well on exams.
Just communicate with him and you will be in good hands with him.
One of my favorite professor's here at Le Moyne! Although the class isn't easy, Dr. Arnone always makes sure that you understand the material if you have questions. He posts study guides that have questions that are directly related to the material on the exams, and he provides many opportunities for extra credit on exams. 100% recommend!
One of the nicest professors I have had! Any difficulty you have, as long as you communicate with him, he will help in any way he can. He posts all of his lecture slides and they are very easy to understand.
Arnone can capture his students' attention through his engaging lectures. He posts his notes online about an hour before class just in case students want to get a head start on the material for that day. He is always available after class in case students have questions about the topics discussed in the lecture.
Such a great professor! He is caring and loves his students. This course is difficult and you definitely have to study to keep up but Arnone is willing to help you with anything you need and is so kind! Jedi is a plus
One of my favorite professors at Le Moyne. This course is challenging but Professor Arnone makes sure we understand the material and always makes time for students outside of class. He wants his students to succeed and provides extra credit. If you get a chance to take one of his classes definitly do!
Dr. Arnone is a great professor and highly recommend him. This course is very challenging but he tries his best to ensure all his students succeed. He always makes time for help outside of class and provides us with review sessions and study guides. There are also multiple extra credit opportunities!
The course is difficult and has a lot of material, but Arnone does a good job explaining it all in the lectures and in his office hours (if you need extra help). Exams are straight forward multiple choice and a few short answers that vary in what they ask depending on the exam. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities so take advantage of them.
very great and personable professor! lots of studying but if you put the work in, it pays off. take advantage of the study guides.
This professor made me feel incompetent and discouraged. He was very passive aggressive and overall I was timid to ask him for help. This professor shouted out grades of people who did well on the last exam which was so discouraging as someone who didn't do well. I felt like that could have been a personal email to those individuals.
Great professor that truly cares about his students and wants you to succeed. Study well and you will be fine. Know the material on study guides.
Good teacher for lab. Kind and understanding
Dr. Arnone is a good professor , he provides plenty of extra credit opportunities. His exams can be lengthy , but a study guide is provided
Dr. Arnone in my opinion is one the best educators at Le Moyne. He is enthusiastic about the material and encourages students to see beyond what we're learning in class and see how it can be applied in the future. Dr. Arnone is a little tough but his door is always open and he makes himself available to students even with a busy schedule.
Doctor Arnone is a wonderful lab instructor. He is immensely helpful and gives good feed back, but you have to be the one to reach out and ask for it.
Dr. Arnone is truly one of the best professors I have had. I had him for both lecture and lab. He is dedicated to helping the students and is always accessible outside of class. Labs can be a little lengthy but he ensures that you comprehend the material. Provides ton of extra credit opportunities and genuinely wants to see you succeed.
Dr. A is passionate about what he teaches. You can tell he enjoys teaching the material and is reading to help others at any point. He can be a tough grader, but you have to work for your grade.
Make sure you are reading the lab thoroughly- more often than not he will have a quiz with 1-3 questions on it like basic math, serial dilution, concentration, names/ purpose of solution. Read it, you'll be fine. There are two lab reports but he's a clear grader just follow the rubric. He'll help you during lab and meet for the reports if you ask.
Dr. Arnone is an excellent professor- he is very enthusiastic and intelligent. His exams are not the easiest, but if you make a thorough study-guide, you will be fine. His slides contain a lot of information, but he makes it easy to understand and interpret. If you ever have any questions, his office hours are very helpful.
Very kind and funny. Always willing to explain concepts and procedures. Often gives 3-question quizzes at the beginning of classes. Only a few large assignments, including a lab report that is a large percentage of the grade, but will give feedback and extra credit if sections are done early.
I would 100% take this professor again! One of the best at Le Moyne in the Biology Department. Willing to help. Offers lot of extra opportunities, so take advantage. Study for test and prepare at least a week in advance. Extremely content heavy and hard tests, but very manageable if you study the study guide.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor. Grade is essentially based on three exams, which are challenging. However, study guides are given and the test is a direct correlation to the study guide. Study hard and you will do well. Plenty of extra credit opportunities are given. Would definitely take again!
I had Dr. Arnone for lab and he was wonderful. He is always willing to provide help if needed. Lab reports are challenging and lengthy, however, if you seek out assistance you will do very well. I would certainly take him again.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor who cares about his student's success and understanding in his class. His lab is well organized and he aims to educate students on real world applications of the laboratory experiments. He is a tough grader on prelab quizzes, so make sure to read and attend pre-lab.
Dr. A is a fantastic professor and I would without a doubt take a class with him again. He gives interesting lectures that keep your attention throughout. He also gives out really helpful study guides before each get that really well prepare students for the upcoming exams. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and would recommend Dr. A as a professor.
Super nice guy, tough grader on lab reports but very approachable for feedback. Very funny and caring professor.
He cares a lot about his students, and is very helpful whenever you have questions. He is kind of a tough grader, but will help you if needed.
He is very informative and helps whenever needed! He cares a lot about his students. This was the lab portion of the class so attendance does matter. You can always ask to join another lab if you have a conflict! Great Professor!
This professor is excellent! Enjoyable and energetic lecturer, who really cares about his students. Definitely recommend. A little difficult with exams, but gives opportunity for extra credit.
Dr. Arnone is a really good guy. I had him for lab and he is very thorough with his explanations. He also is more than willing to answer any questions you have and is rooting for your success. He really expects you to understand the lab, so be sure to read up beforehand .
Dr. Arnone is a really good guy. He is very thorough when explaining the labs, and is more than willing to help answer any questions that you might have. Very approachable and personable guy but he does expect you to have a good understanding of the lab beforehand (and will quiz you on such!), so read up beforehand.
The professor is very accessible outside of class, willing to answer questions, and gives review sessions before tests. Although the course is information-dense, and tests can be difficult due to the wording of questions and the amount of information, extra credit is available to make up for some of those points.
The 218 course is very difficult but Dr. Arnone creates informative lecture slides and provides an in-depth study guide for each exam to help understand the material. If you don't go to every lecture it will affect your grade and understanding. Dr. Arnone offers a lot of extra credit and he has many office hours times which are both very helpful.
In lab, Dr. Arnone explains everything you're going to do and wants to make sure everyone is successful. Sometimes labs are hard and time-consuming but he will guide you through every step and will make sure you understand what you're doing as well. He's very funny and respectful to all students. There are 2 lab reports and a group presentation.
Very chill professor, glad to have had him. He knows his stuff and is willing to help when we had questions or were in need of clarification. Most of the labs we were able to leave earlier than the 3 hours 50 minutes that the class is scheduled for. This was nice.
This professor was amazing, but the course was very difficult. He goes through the notes very fast, and it gets very easy to become behind. The exams will sneak up on you, so study well and in advance. There are homeworks but only 3 before each exam (used as review). There was a lot of unnecessarily specific information that made exams frustrating.
For lab, this professor explains things very thoroughly and well. He also quizzes you to make sure that you understand what you are doing during lab and not just going through the motions. He is very qualified in what he does and teaches very well. I suggest reading the lab before class and understanding them. There will be a quiz before most labs.
I had Dr. Arnone for lab and he was awesome! He truly cares about his students and makes the effort to get to know each of them. Aside from that, he does his best to make cell molec content as simple and understandable as possible (which isn't easy to do) which helps a lot in making lab enjoyable! All in all Dr. Arnone is awesome!!
He does a great job connecting some very difficult topics, however can sometimes leave out more pressing info. Some topics are merely brushed over when a more in-depth understanding would help out when it comes to exams.
Dr. Arnone is a great lab professor he clearly explains the lab and gets you working quickly moving around to all groups answering any questions. only 2 lab reports and he is available to look over the reports as you work on them
Dr. Arnone is a really amazing professor who really cares about the well-being of his students. He gives several extra credit opportunities which is great because it is such a difficult course. I would definitely take his course again if given the opportunity.
I had Dr. Arnone for lab. He expects you to be well prepared and to already have a general understanding of the lab. Lab quizzes almost every week. Offers extra credit opportunities and always makes time to meet with you to give you feedback. Lab is terrible but Dr. Arnone makes it a lot better. Definitely a good choice for a lab instructor.
The professor is awesome!
The professor is awesome and is a very fair grader.
From the getgo, Dr. A's a great educator very lenient & patient. checks in w students during procedures & makes it possible for students to actually retain information. He wants you to get the answer right, but also wants you to understand it He won't give you answers directly, instead quizzes you into figuring it out. ALSO HIS DOGs NAME IS JEDI :D
Need to focus in lecture and take notes, exams are fair and doable. He has office hours.
This course is lecture heavy, make sure you are attentive and actively taking notes. There are about 3 tests throughout the semester which are weighted heavily on your average; however, Arnone is willing to help you achieve good grades, you just have to reach out. There is also a lab presentation that counts towards your lecture grade.
I had Arnone for cell and Molecular biology, it is a hard course but he made it very enjoyable. He will provide you with every opportunity to succeed, lots of extra credit, office hours and review sessions. Test contain lots of material so start studying far out in advance, but test have built in extra credit. Very understanding of student athletes
there is a lot of material per test. the test grades are not in canvas and they make up majority of your grade. but he loves what he teaches and all around is a good prof.
I loved having Dr. Arnone for cell bio! He offered a lot of extra credit that really helped me get an A in this class. His tests were sometimes a bit confusing, but if you use the study guides he creates, you should do pretty well. Make sure to attend class because he uses sign-in sheets. Definitely recommend Dr. Arnone for cell bio lecture!
Dr. Arnone is a very good lecture teacher! He doesn't fly through the slides like a lot of professors do, he takes his time to thoroughly explain everything. The tests are pretty fair if you do the study guide and he offers tons of extra credit!
Dr. Arnone is a great professor who truly cares for his students. Cell and Molec is a hard course that is content heavy, but he made it achievable and provided extra credit. The class is very lecture heavy, so attendance and active note taking is vital for a good grade. Hard course, but having him as a professor made it much easier.
Dr. A is a great lecture prof to have for C&M. A lot of extra credit opportunities, but you have to show up to class to get extra credit. C&M overall is very content heavy, so make sure to stay on top of things. Outside of lecture, we're given 3-4 hw assignments for each unit. He also brings his dog Jedi to class and review sessions sometimes!
He's a good person in general to start off. If you need help, go outside of class and ask questions, but make sure you approach him in person. He gives out good extra credit, but his tests are really hard so make sure you study. His tests are fair, but he does test on things that are the hardest and most specific. There are also no quizzes.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor. Always seems approachable and quickly gets to know students' names. He brings his dog on campus and communicates with students often. He's a great person and professor.
lectures are very information-dense, textbook is online reading it is very helpful for tests, gives study guides but they didn't always ensure a good grade so studying outside of the guide is necessary. great guy, willing to meet if you need help, provided a ton of extra credit opportunities.
Dr. A is very nice and cares about his students doing well. He has high expectations and expects that students study outside of class and come to office hours for help. If you show up to class, pay attention, study, and ask questions, you'll do fine in the course. One tip: don't start studying the night before the exam in this course.
Listen to what he has to say during lectures and make sure to follow the study sheets he provides for an A in the class. Homeworks can be helpful towards exams and he provides a decent amount of extra credit if needed.
His teaching style is very lecture heavy, but as long as you pay attention and take good notes, you will pass the class. Exams contain a lot of material, but he does provide helpful study guides that make it much easier to study.
Dr. Arnone offers an immense amount of extra credit so there is always an opportunity to get a few extra points on exams. With that being said exams are quite difficult with stimulating and thought provoking multiple choice questions and definitely need to studied for well. Dr. Arnone is a great person and cares about students.
Great guy! He wants you to succeed. He is available for office hours frequently. There are many extra credit opportunities and a study guide. Test questions are generally pretty straightforward. Overall, I recommend Arnone and would take the class again.
He is a great professor! Will answer any questions you have either in class or during office hours. There are many extra credit opportunities and he makes a study guide for each exam. The class is very lecture heavy so attending class, listening, and writing notes is crucial. His exams are tough but fair.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor he gives an unlimited amount of extra credit and is available after class for questions. You don't get to keep your tests but he lets you come to his office hours and you can copy down all the questions from the test. Attendance is mandatory but if you want to do good in class then definitely show up.
Dr Arnone is a great professor who is always willing to help student in and out of the class. His exams are stimulating but as long as you review the material you will do well. Also, he provides extra credit opportunities to ensure that you do well in the class.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor who really cares about his students. His lectures are very content heavy and so are his exams. He also offers an unlimited amount of extra credit which helps because the exams can be difficult if not proactively prepared for.
Lectures are very lengthy. What the quiz was on was told very vaguely but quizzes were usually on very specific topics of the lecture. He grades pretty fair and quickly.
Dr Arnone is a very genuine person who is always willing to meet with you outside of class. His tests and quizzes are fairly difficult, but they are fair and follow what he went over in lecture.
The class is very heavy on lecture and so it is important to stay up to date on the material and attend every class. He hosts review sessions before each exam (for extra credit) and are really helpful.
Dr. Arnone really cares about his students. This class is very lecture-heavy, so stay up to date and always write down what he says, as it is not always in the slides. He makes study guides for each exam, and you should know them inside and out because the way he asks questions can be tricky. He also offers lots of extra credit!
Great professor! Always ready to answer the questions outside or in class. I took lab, so not a lot of lecturing, but the small bits that were included were very clear and came with a power point that was posted later. Would defiantly take the class again
Professor Arnone is an amazing teacher and person in general. He's very passionate about the subject and is an amazing motivator if needed. Would definitely take more classes with him.
Dr. Arnone is a very caring professor. He'll try his best to make sure you understand the material. He understands that you are a student and that life can get hard sometimes. Attendance is not mandatory for lectures, but the lectures are packed with material; I do not recommend missing the class. Lab attendance is mandatory, on the other hand.
Dr. Arnone was amazing to have as a professor. He was very caring and understanding towards us students. I only had him for lab but would definitely have him again in the future.
Dr. Arnone is very respectable professor and it is very evident that he is not only truly passionate for teaching but he thoroughly enjoys what he does. He is very accessible outside of class and it is very clear what he expects out of his students. Not only is he a great professor but he is a very friendly person to be around in general.
Genetics is heavy molecular biology, so be prepared to have long lectures with a lot of material. Although, it is pretty manageable and he is always available to meet for any questions. He gives quizzes and extra credit which helps you prepare better for tests and to redeem yourself in terms of points.
He is an amazing professor and always gives you an opportunity to make something better. He is very clear in his lectures and is always walking around the room helping you whenever you need it. I would most definitely take him as a professor again.
Professor Arnone made the class very enjoyable, the material is hard but it is presented in a way that makes it easy to understand. There are two lab reports, one of them being very long but if you have any questions he always answers them. There's not many quizzes but those aren't hard as long as you read the lab before class
He was good
He is very invested in teaching and helping students realize their potential! He's very understanding and wants to help students succeed in what they are passionate about by encouraging them and recognizing their potential. He is very specific when it comes to answers but it's to prepare students for their careers.
Dr. Arnone was very clear with his expectations and was always willing to help. Labs went by fast. Only 1 real lab report. Overall a pretty good class.
There was a presentation, but it was free points if you put in effort. He offers extra credit opportunities and makes his expectations pretty clear. There are a few quizzes, but two are dropped. He posts study guides for all of the exams. My only complaint is he went into a LOT of detail, which can be overwhelming and hard to manage.
Definitely recommend this professor, felt the notes were organized/explained well to the class, great attitude when discussing concepts, is helpful when you ask questions/go to office hours, extra credit is given throughout the semester, overall a great experience.
Very flexible professor, will accommodate your needs within reason. Dr. Arnone will go above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. Funny guy.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor! He posts study guides that are extremely helpful for exams. He also offers a lot of extra credit which helps a lot with exam scores.
Dr. Arnone is an amazing professor. You can tell how passionate he is with teaching biology. The material is difficult, as expected for biology, but if you study in advance for exams and get your work done on time, you will be fine. He provides extra credit when he can, which is very nice. Overall, he is an amazing person.
Dr. Arnone is very passionate about Genetics and I think this causes him to go super in-depth on a lot of topics resulting in many of us getting lost very early on and struggling to keep up the rest of the semester. He is always willing to help and offers plenty of extra credit as long as you participate.
Dr. Arnone is an amazing Genetics professor because how enthusiastic he is about the subject. However, his lectures do go into too much detail at times to the point where it is a bit overwhelming and often gets confusing. He makes up for this by always being able to meet and allowing numerous extra credit opportunities throughout the semester.
Dr. Arnone is an amazing biology professor. His genetics class is very lecture-heavy, and you need to be actively engaged throughout class. Overall, interesting course but the lectures go into a lot of detail. As long as you attend class, take notes, and study you will be fine. And make sure to take advantage of extra credit opportunities.
Wants to help his students succeed and is always encouraging to seek help outside of class if you don't understand something. Will look over and give you feedback on lab reports if done ahead of time. Cracks a lot of jokes in class and is very engaging. Lectures at the begging if class can be long and there is a quiz before every lab.
Dr. Arnone was very wise and helpful when it came to the class content. he always took time to make sure we understood the labs. Since this was not his curriculum, but rather one made the department, I cannot blame him for the faults in it. Overall, the course should be restructured, but he was still able to teach it well.
Arnone is super super personable and easy to talk to. Super easy to access out of class too. Offers extra credit which you should take advantage of. His lectures are good, but you have to write down pretty much everything because it might be on the test. Wants you to do very well!
great guy and wants everyone to do well. is always available outside of class. This class is very difficult so get ready to put in work. 3-4 homework assignments are due before each exam that is assigned weeks before. You do have to pay $30 to do the homework which sucks. 3 exams and 1 final. You do need the book but the library has one for free.
Dr Arnone is a great professor and his lectures are very engaging. He gives extra credit opportunities everyone should take advantage of. He also holds review sessions before exams and is willing to meet outside of that with any students.
Very good professor but material is tough. Most of your grade is exams
Dr. Arnone is super nice and always willing to help students. The grading rubric for this course is very test heavy. There are 3 exams that total out to be 55% of your grade. There are some extra credit opportunities that could help boost your grade. Notes during lectures are a must if you want to do well!
Course is lecture based with 4 exams. He posts review sheets for his exams but they can differ from what will actually be on the exam. Be ready to study multiple hours for each exam to pass.
Great professor, just a really hard course
Super nice professor, very helpful when struggling with material
Really hard course with lectures that ramble on. He provides a study guide with so many things on it that it is not even helpful. Exams are difficult but has 10% extra credit built in. Can be passive aggressive. Would take again if I had to.
Very passionate about the field and treats you with respect when speaking with him. More than accommodating with office hours if you need, and provides a ton of extra credit opportunities. Comprehensive study guides for each exam, but he is very detail oriented. Overall, he is definitely on the higher end for the Bio department at le Moyne.
The course is very difficult and the tests reflect that, and Dr. Arnone is very detail oriented. However he is a great guy and available a lot.
Started off great but I enjoyed him less as the semester went on. Posts study guides which are extremely helpful but have a ton of information on them to remember. Definitely go to review sessions they are very helpful.
Great professor that truly cares about his students. Is available outside of class if you need help. Difficult course, but makes it fun. Offers tons of extra credit throughout the semester
This course is difficult, but a lot of extra credit is given to boost your lowest test grade by attending the science seminars on most Fridays. If you study ahead of time and go through the study guide, you should be able to pass the exams. Arnone is very interested in what he does and will always help during office hours.
Was very generous with extra credit if you were able to attend the Natural Science Seminars and made sure to have review sessions for each exam, but moved very quicly through lectures and was not always the most helpful when asking questions.
goes through lectures very quickly, does give a lot of extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Arnone made this class very doable, even though there is a lot of content. He is extremely accessible outside of class, cares about his students, is very knowledgeable, and passionate about what he teaches. He makes study guides for each exam and holds review sessions prior. Minimal homework, only a couple online before each test.
Dr. Arnone is a very caring and personable professor who shows that he really wants to get to know his students. This class is difficult and very specific, but Arnone offers a lot of extra credit and is usually available outside of class for extra help. He also makes his exams so you can get a certain number of questions wrong and still get a 100.
This is a very lecture-heavy course and it is very difficult. However, Arnone does offer a lot of extra credit to help boost your grade. You need to pay to do your homework which sucks. You need the book in order to do the homework and the book is a ridiculous price so use the libraries for free.
Arnone is an amazing professor and person. He is extremely caring and understanding and knows that life happens. He does his best to be as helpful as possible as this is a difficult course. He offers a bunch of extra credit (abo 18 points). There is homework and it can take awhile to do, but it is easy to do well on them. Tests are difficult/wordy.
Dr Arnone is a good professor and cares about his students. His tests are pretty hard but if you go to review sessions with questions it helps. His slides don't have much information on them so you have to be really paying attention in class to understand the material.
Arnone is a great guy but he reads a lot off of slides which is not helpful to all. The exams are really difficult and wordy. He does give a study guide but there is so much on it it its not always helpful. He does offer a lot of extra credit though to help boost your grade. You have to pay to do your homework and buy an expensive book too :(.
This course is lecture-heavy and difficult to understand, be ready to study. Need a textbook for homework which is expensive, the library has one for free which I used semester long. Do not buy the textbook because you also need to pay $30 to do your own homework! Additionally, lots of extra credit is given which is the only plus. Great guy though!
Great professor & an even greater guy. Gives out study guides which are reflective of the actual exams, and offers a lot of extra credit. Only complaint is that his lectures can be difficult to understand, but he's always willing to repeat or explain things again if you ask. Overall, great dude. Similar to Dr. Page if you've had him before.
The class is very difficult, but Dr. Arnone does a great job teaching and being available to help outside of class. The exams cover tons of material, but there is also a lot of extra credit opportunity.
Arnone is such an amazing professor. His class is really difficult so you need to study a lot. He does offer a lot of extra credit to help boost your grade. The only downfall is having to pay $30 to do your homework and needing an expensive book at the same time.
Great professor that most students like. Course is tough but he tries to make it somewhat enjoyable. Lots of extra credit opportunities, however, they can be boring. Attendance is not part of your grade but you definitely want to be there as much as possible! He moves through lectures pretty quick. Use the textbook in the library do not buy one!
Dr.Arnone is a great professor that cares a lot about the content he is teaching. This is a difficult class that you need to put a lot of time into. The study guide has a lot of content however it is very helpful for the tests. Make sure to go to the review sessions for tests and to extra credit opportunities.
Such a nice guy and is super caring and considerate. He understands that life happens and doesn't punish you for it. The class is very difficult but he offers a lot of extra credit to help boost your grade. You do need to study a lot in order to pass with a decent grade. Attendance is not part of your grade but you need to be there.
This class is very hard and requires a lot of studying. It is definitely a doable class but a lot of work outside of class needs to be put in. Extra credit is given throughout the semester, but it is very boring. Tests are super wordy which them difficult. Need to pay to do your own homework.
Arnone is a really nice guy but his lectures can be very boring. This class is hard and the boring lectures make it even worse. He does offer a ton of extra credit though which is a plus.
Professor Arnone is a great guy who truly cares about his students. His tests are very hard, but the study guides for each exam are very helpful - make sure you study well. There are also many opportunities to earn extra credit.
Arnone is a very caring professor that really cares about his students. The course is very lecture heavy with a lot of content but he tries his best with his slides. The test are fairly difficult and he gives trick questions but the tests have a kind curve and gives extra credit if u got to the NSS.
Dr. Arnone's cell molec class was surprisingly fun. I was worried that it was going to be a super challenging course, but Dr. Arnone made it easier to navigate if you're willing to put the work in.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor. The course is very demanding as you would expect from a cellular molecular course but Dr. Arnone will help you through it.
Dr. Arnone is one of the best cell and molec professors for lab. Weekly lab quizzes are pretty hard, so read the lab carefully. But he's very chill and helpful during lab time, grades lab reports VERY fairly (and offers extra credit for going to the WC), and we're almost always out early. Great choice to take for lab, not sure about lecture.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor for cell and molec. class ISN'T EASY but he does everything in his power to help his students learn and pass. 4 exams with the final, provides great study guides, and 10 quizzes you MUST PAY $30 for that. 2 EXTRA CREDIT is attending the seminars on Fridays will be added to your lowest exam. He keeps the exams.
Do not listen to these review. This class is extremly difficult not to mention the last Unit is almost impossible to interpret unless you are already well versed into cell molecular biology. Arnone is a kind person but his class is super hard to do well in.
Professor Arnone is great - makes the tough material engaging with his humor. The labs can be time-consuming, but he's always available to help. unstuck study was a lifesaver for study prep.
I would recommend him for Bio218 - Cell and Molecular Biology Lab. He engages with all student and makes sure everyone understands what the lab entails. Though there is a lot of writing for lab reports, he is always available to help.
He is amazing, I took him for cell and molec and took genetics again just to have him as a professor again. 10/10 recommend Dr. Arnone
I had this professor for Bio320 - Genetics Lab, and He was great, but my section, in comparison to Dr. Kanes, felt that it had more work. I get that is going to happen with many professors teaching the same class, but it still feels unfair in its own way, but that's life, ig
I took Cell & Molecular with Dr. Arnone and specifically chose him again for Genetics because he's always been a great professor. Although the material is challenging, he's kind, clear, and very helpful when questions are asked. Extra credit is a plus too!
Highly recommend taking Dr. Arnone for genetics lecture and lab. I took him for both. Your overall grade is based 20% on lab, and 80% lecture. The lab grade is two reports. The lecture grade is 3 exams, a final and a presentation. He offers a ton of extra credit as well. One of the best professors in the bio department.
Great teacher does a great job in teaching the material and making classes interesting. 4 exams with lots of extra credit and you will do good as long as you keep up with the material. He's also very helpful during office hours.
Dr. Arnone is a good professor and obviously likes what he does. I had him for genetics lab and although sometimes our lab reports seemed to be more difficult than the other section, I still enjoyed his lab. He is a somewhat tough grader though.
Dr. Arnone is one of my favorite professors at Le Moyne. He knows how to effectively teach material in a way that is both beneficial and worth learning. Genetics Lab requires 2 lab reports that compromise your entire lab grade, but they are fairly easy, have most of the semester to complete, and can meet with Dr. A for review!
Dr. A is the best professor I've had at Le Moyne. He's kind, hilarious & makes learning about genetics enjoyable. He is understanding of students & that things come up with your life outside of class so he is always willing to set up a time to meet with you based on your schedule. He does talk very fast in lectures tho, so prepared to write quickly
I had Dr. Arnone for BIO218 lab (cell and molecular biology) and he was awesome! If you needed help, he would help. The course itself isn't an easy pass, but if you put in the work your grade will reflect it.
Dr. Arnone is a good professor and the lab was enjoyable, but the lab reports required more work than the other lab sections.
Dr. Arnone is a good professor and taught the material needed to be known to be successful in the lab. Although this is the case, the lab report workload was heavier than the other genetics lab section taught by another professor. Lab sections did not align the same when it came to the post-lab requirements/assignments.
Go to office hours to have him look over your lab reports before submitting- you get good feedback and it makes the reports a lot less intimidating!
He is very helpful when you are struggling! Just go to office hours it will really help. Overall it is a difficult course but if you put in the work you will do just fine.
This professor loves the course and it shows throughout the material. He respects his students very highly and understands the full course load they are going through.
This professor made this class super enjoyable. The extra credit on all exams make it so easy to do super well in the class!
Dr. Arnone is a great professor and is very helpful outside of lab. This lab section however has more time consuming lab reports than the other, but if you need help he is more than willing to give you advice and lead you in the right direction!
Dr. A is very friendly and knowledgeable. Some of the exams were a lot harder than others, but he is very helpful during office hours and over email if you have questions.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor to have for class. He is really helpful and caring. The class consists of three exams and a cumulative final, with a presentation. Make sure to stay on top of lecture slides and studying, because most of the time each unit builds off the other. Lecture will get rough if you fall behind.
I liked taking Genetics with Dr. Arnone. He makes lecture fun and interactive, which has helped me understand concepts better in comparison to other courses. Your overall grade is mostly made up of exams and a presentation. The presentation is only for a short duration, and as long as you put your efforts in, you will get a good grade.
Dr. Arnone sets clear expectations in lab, and is very helpful when questions or issues arise. Our grade in lab is based on two lab reports.
Dr. Arnone is a great lecture and lab professor. This class is typically for juniors and seniors so he does expect a lot from us. In my experience Arnone is a good grader so it is worth it and if you put in the work, you will earn a good grade.
Arnone is great! He really tries hard to see students succeed and he will meet with you outside of lab to help on lab reports.
Dr. Arnone is a very willing to work with students and is a very honest and sweet person. The grading system is set up so that some mistakes can be made without killing your grade. Personally, the lecture style was quick, but he uploads slides for those who need it. Seems like his brain works on a different level, has to dumb it down for us.
Great professor! 2 lab reports and you have to go to lab or else you will fall behind.
Arnone is great and expects a lot from us but that is what gets us prepared for graduate school.
Arnone is great! Only graded on 2 lab reports and it seemed like he was a nice grader for all of us on the first one.
Great lab and great professor. Lab can be fun, it is mostly independent time so you do what you have to do and leave. I would say this is interesting for most students.
2 lab reports is all you are graded on but goes into lecture grade of 20%. Really lowkey lab, it is not stressful if you don't want it to be. I definitely recommend taking him.
Arnone is awesome! He really takes the time in the beginning of lab to go over what we are doing. He makes sure everyone is doing what theys should by going around and asking if anyone has questions if they are confused.
Dr. Arnone understands that his class can sometimes be challenging, so he offers extra credit. He is also accessible outside the class. As for credits, he uses student questions from their "genetics in the news" presentations on the exams and questions from the science seminars. I would recommend Dr. Arnone 10/10
Very kind and helpful professor. Explains material very well. Entire lab grade is only 2 lab reports so they were worth a large portion of the grade. More lab work that the other section, expected longer and more complex reports and student expectations were not equal in both lab sections.
I had him for lab only. He does lots of small lab quizzes and your whole lab grade is based on a few long lab reports which he takes FOREVER to grade. The reports are very time consuming. He is a funny guy if you're one of his favorites but quick to get irritated if your non on top of things.
Dr. Arnone is a great professor! He is always willing to meet outside class to help. I had him for lab and lecture - great for both. There are online quizzes that you can do outside of class and he posts his lecture notes. Lots of content and his tests are tricky but fair. Go to his office hours!!
Loved this class and loved the professor, it was a difficult class because of the material but he did a great job teaching and was easy to approach for questions and help
Dr. Arnone is a kind and passionate professor! He genuinely wants his students to do well. Tons of extra credit opportunities and he's flexible with office hours. Its a tough course with lots of material to learn for each exam, but he makes an effort to make it manageable
He is a great professor and would definitely take again. He's open anytime for office hours and is very understanding. The class is hard but there's opportunities for extra credit
Great professor who looks out for his students, there is a lot of content on the exams but if you put the work into learning the material and going to office hours, you should do well in the class. Offers a lot of extra credit opportunities as well.
Dr. A is a caring professor who's easily accessible outside of class. His lectures were pretty dense--as expected for the course--but he provided objectives for essential info. There were 3 exams and a cumulative final, and a required textbook with low stake HW quizzes assigned through an online program.
Dr. A's CMB lab was great. Each class began with an overview of the lab and occasional quizzes based on the procedure. Dr. A's quizzes tend to be harder compared to other sections, but he'll usually give hints about the content covered. The lab reports were graded fairly, and he was easy to reach outside of class.
Dr. Arnone is a good professor and cares about his students. He is very accessible outside of lab and lecture which is great. Lab is a ton of work and it does take a lot of time and effort. Lab quizzes and lab reports are difficult but go to him if you need help. He wants you to succeed but you also need to put in the time and effort.
Dr. Arnone is a caring professor howevert his class is extremly difficult. There is a lot of content that you will need to know in depth and on top of lecture lab was very difficult and added a lot to the work load. Dr. Arnone is prepared to help though.
His exams are challenging, you have to know everything he covers in his lecture, but if you study hard, a good grade is obtainable. He posts the lecture slides on Canvas so you can look back on them. He also gives about 10 pts of extra credit on each exam and several other ways to get more extra credit. He cares about his students doing well.
He's a great guy who wants you to do well. The quizzes are tough but not worth much. He's a fun guy to have for lab and is nice, but you will also learn what to do and not just breeze through each lab. Just put in the effort and come prepared. Fun to joke around with
Dr. Arnone is a really nice guy, he is willing to work with you if you want to. His office hours are not my favorite; I preferred booking an appointment, and that was really helpful. You have to study a lot and pay attention in lec, but I would take him again.
1 pm sec nice guy, his quizes are hard, easier than corcran harder than sharifi and perrota
The professor is very nice and is always happy to help. The tests can be hard so you have to study. There are many things he talks about during lecture that aren't posted in the lecture PowerPoints so you should go to class, but attendance is mandatory anyway.
Arnone is a great professor! I had him for lab and absolutely loved it. He made it a fun environment to learn in and made it very easy to get feedback. He's laid back but still wants you to succeed. The lab quizzes are a little bit specific, but if you read the lab before class, you are typically able to get at least 2 points.
Dr. Arnone is a very caring and helpful professor. Lab was hard on its own, but he made it smooth to get through. Although some other lab instructors definitely finish lab quicker than him. Study for the pre lab quizzes!
Arnone is a great professor who teaches a tough class. If you study and apply yourself, you should do well on the tests. There are no surprises on his exams, and he often gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Quizzes are online, so a good grade booster. Overall, a great class to take.
I enjoyed this class, especially for someone who isn't the best at the class. Not a class I dreaded going to. I recommend taking this class with Dr. Arnone; he makes the class more enjoyable and less stressful.
I had Dr. A for lecture and lab, and I definitely recommend him! It is a hard course that you need to study for, but he tries his best to make it more digestible, and he tries to make it applicable (to healthcare, diseases, etc.). He's so accessible outside of class, and I definitely recommend meeting with him for things like the lab reports.
Cell and molecular biology is a difficult course. Dr. Arnone tries his best but I think it really comes down to how much you're willing to study outside of class. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunities which will add points to your lowest test grade. Deciding on taking Arnone or Corcoran is really dependent on your learning style!
Dr. Arnone is a good lab instructor; he is always very helpful during lab and is a funny and personable guy. The lab quizzes were always very difficult, but he gave good/helpful feedback when writing the big flagella lab report.
The class is fast paced but overall the content is fair. LECTURE HEAVY. Exams can be tricky as the semester goes on but if you pay attention and study, there are no surprises. Dr.A is a good professor, and clearly knows his stuff. Dr.A is very accessible to his students, even outside of his posted office hours.
I had him for both lecture and lab, and Dr. A is great, and very accessible outside of class, but by no means is this is a class you can cram for. There's a lot of content, and I think it's a little advanced for a 200 level, but they grade in a way that allows you to succeed and do well. Definitely go to office hours too!
Dr. Arnone is the Best! I was in his BIO-218L-05 this semester and he was my favorite professor! He was very clear when explaining experiments, and he made some difficult concepts easy to understand. He was also extremely kind and understanding when I discussed my anxiety with him, and helped to ease some of the stress I was feeling.
Dr. A is an amazing professor. He has been super helpful in turning a relatively difficult lab into a super navigable and manageable one. He doesn't ask a lot other than coming prepared to lab which takes very little time. Couldn't recommend enough
Arnone is a great guy. He is very accessible outside of class if you are confused. This class is manageable, but I've heard Corcoran's tests are easier. I don't think I ever figured out a great study method, but if you do, you're golden. He gives lots of extra credit though which was nice.
I really liked Arnone for lab. It's imperative you meet with him for lab reports, as he is very specific about what he is looking for. If you meet with him, it is super easy to get a good grade. He connects with you on a personal level and is super helpful. He gives extra credit, too. He is super funny, I definitely recommend.
Dr. A is a good professor but is very lecture heavy. A lot of things that can end up on quizzes are discussed during lab. He's very accessible during office hours and gives good feedback to assignments. If you want a good grade on your lab reports definitely meet with him prior to the due date.
Dr. A teaches in a way that makes it really easy to understand. The course is very lecture-heavy, and you get through a lot of notes, but his explanations make it really easy to follow along -- go to class, and you'll be fine. Exams are pretty tough, but fair if you actually study the material hard and take good notes during lecture. Funny guy too
Dr. Arnone is very easy to reach outside of class. Attend office hours if you intend to get a good grade (On exams and/or lab reports). Lectures are very dense so stay on top of studying. Overall this class was very difficult but important for most biology majors.
Always willing to help out students. Anytime I asked to meet he was willing to find a time. Exams are hard but he does do some study sessions and extra credit. There are some great opportunities for extra credit which you need to take advantage of.
Dr. A is very accessible outside of class and grades tough but fairly. Also very accessible to athletes. Taking him for lab was a 10/10 he gets straight to the procedure yet explains things thoroughly. You can connect with him personally, and it makes the lab 10x more enjoyable. There isn't always a pre-lab quiz, too, which is nice.
Dr. A is very accessible, use his office hours to your advantage because that's where you will get all your tips and critiques.
The class contains a lot of information and can be hard to understand it all but Dr. Arnone is great in lecture and it always ready to help outside of class time.
Dr. Arnone was very helpful if you make the time to go to his office hours, or schedule a time to meet with him. He was very helpful when re-explaining concepts if you are confused. The test are hard but if you study early on and go to his office hours when you confused you'll do fine, gives a lot of extra credit if you go to the Science Seminars.
Dr. A is a good professor but his class is very difficult if you are not attentive. The test are very lecture heavy. There are many chances for extra credit! What you put into this class is primarily what you will get out of it.
The best choice for a 218L professor. It is a tough class and there are multiple LONG lab reports, but Dr. Arnone is always available to schedule a meeting with to discuss your papers before they are due. If you put in effort and plan ahead, you can absolutely do well. His expectations are specific, but he is not a tough grader if they are met.
He teaches very well. highly recommend
Dr. Arnone is very knowledgable, personable, and reachable. He was flexible when I had to miss class and helped me to make it up. He is has a lot of office hours and answers his email quickly. He lectures heavily on definitions, but tests on concepts. Do the objective questions for each lecture, and put in the work and you will do fine!
Dr. Arnone is an amazing guy. Although there is a lot of material, he conveys it well AND with passion. You can tell he cares about the class, and he cares about you. Office hours are relaxing, as he is easy to talk to. LOADS OF EXTRA CREDIT.
Dr. A is very knowledgeable and invested in his lectures. Slides are posted online and ahead of time, so it's easy to take notes and catch up if you miss class. The exams are pretty difficult, but if you study enough (and not too last-minute), you should be good. Dr. A is very approachable and helpful outside of class as well.
CMB Lab with Dr.A was very informative; he always told you what was necessary and relevant in the lectures at the beginning of Lab. Be sure to look over the lab (closely) before the lab because there will be quizzes. He is a very fair grader when it comes to your lab reports. Just make sure to study for the lab practical, and you'll be good.
His exams are definitely tough but as long as you use the lecture slides and the textbook you should be fine. He is very understanding and caring when it comes to his students. He offers a lot of extra credit so go to the science seminars. Overall, it was a good class but definitely hard and expect A TON of studying.
Dr. Arnone is a caring and respectful professor. There is a ton of work however he is willing to help you anytime. He also is always willing to help you and meet with you outside of lab if you need. Overall, a good professor and always willing to help you.
Dr A is a really great guy. He always likes to hear feedback from his students and will give around 10% extra credit on exams. His exams are kind of difficult but put in the time and effort to study and pay attention in class, this will be a class that shapes your biology learning
Professor Arnone is very caring! I've really enjoyed having him as a lab instructor. The lab reports are difficult, and sometimes the rubric is a little unclear, but since he is very accessible outside of class, it's easy to work with him if it's a subject matter you're struggling with. I would recommend him to anyone who asks!!
He is a very kind and caring professor and genuinely wants what is best for you. There is a lot expected of students to do just for lab. There is a group presentation and lab practical all in the same week. Overall, I would recommend him for lab.
He is a good professor who is passionate about what he is teaching. There is a lot covered in lecture and it is pretty fast paced. Exams are fair and he provides study questions that are very helpful. Overall, I would recommend him for this course.
Dr. Arnone is a very kind and understanding professor. He is very accessible outside of class. The course is very hard, so there is a fair warning for that. Lectures are very dense and content is difficult. Exams are very important for this class so study and do well!
Outstanding professor, his lectures aren't overloaded with information, he breaks them up really well, and always connects them to things we already know.
His lectures are very good. He provides study guides for each lecture he gives; these are extremely helpful for the exams. He is an easy grader, but not in an everyone-passes kind of way; rather, he is very easy to talk to, and his exams are very straightforward (no trick questions).
Very good professor, who explains things very well.
Great lab section, the professor is very funny and caring. He is very easy to work with and gives great feedback on assignments. He is very understanding when it comes to missing assignments or classes.
Dr.Arnone is a wonderful professor, he takes the time to make sure students understand the material. Exams are challenging but fair, everything on them are highlighted in the module overviews, study and you'll succeed. Office hours are highly recommended and very efficient. Overall He is a great professor who wants you to succeed.
Dr. Arnone is great. His exams are fair, and quizzes are open-note and online. He is easy to talk to and always willing to answer questions during lecture or office hours.
Dr. Arnone is great but be prepared to study for his tests well in advance. Lots of Extra Credit opportunities so make sure to do them all.
His teaching requires you to know what you're doing and it may be hard to do well if you don't. Come to lab prepared and read the lab manual. There are quizzes almost every class and you'll do well if you read the lab manual thoroughly. He's kind, helpful, and accessible if you need help! The lab does expect a lot so be ready for heavy coursework.
There is a lot of content covered but his tests mirror the objective questions he puts in his lectures. He is very kind and always willing to help during office hours. While his course is hard, studying the objective questions can get you far on exams. He is honest about the format of his tests and also gives you extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Arnone is extremely helpful in the lab. He will help you whenever you get stuck on a step or are unsure of what to do. Quizzes at the beginning of every lab. Willing to meet and discuss lab reports with you. He will try to meet your needs in the best way he can. Overall, an extremely knowledgeable, caring, and respectful Professor.
This is a tough course, and Dr. Arnone understands that. He has plenty of office hours and, in general, is very accessible outside of class. Tests are challenging but fair. He holds review sessions for exams and tells you the format so there are no surprises when exam time comes. He's a great person who is passionate about what he teaches.
