I will say that this class is simple and being at a community college teachers break down the material into its simplest form. Dr. Bell trys to make psychology complicated with a ridiculous grading system and a TON of busy work. The class is not hard at all because psychology is not difficult, yet he tries to make it appear that way

Bell is generally organized and there are no surprises as to what is expected of students. However, I feel that his classes are more focused on teaching one how to study "properly" and less focused on the actual topic of psychology. We were asked to write what we learned from articles so much that I think I just kept finding new ways to write the same thing over and over again. I wish we had learned more about psychology and less about study habits.

When I first began this class, i was skeptical the way things worked in his class but by the end of the semester, it was honestly the best class i've ever taken. I learned a lot about time management and ways to improve my thinking. I highly recommend this class. It's writing intensive. Theres ways to bend the rules in his class to your liking.

His class is designed for people planing to major in the field of psychology but for some reason he teaches a class filled with a majority of people trying to get interested in the field or taking it merely as a requirement. His class is not online and you only get grades every 3 weeks. I really recommend you not to take this class if possible.

This class is the worst class I have ever taken. I have not learned a single thing. When I first started out I had such a positive attitude because I love psychology. Not anymore. All you do is homework like you don't have other things to do. If you're absent for any reason it counts against you. He is so egotistical it is ridiculous. GET OUT NOW!

This is by far the best class I have ever taken, and it's all thanks to Dr. Bell. His class is A LOT of work, but it's work on building yourself, not actual book work. There are no tests, no exams, no quizzes, no textbook, and no lecture. It is group work, and learning study skills & ways to be a better student. LIFE CHANGING COURSE!

Dr. Bell expects his students to learn on their own and teach themselves, but with that being said he is a really good teacher and I actually have learned a lot in his class. Just get ready to read & have multiple write assignments.

The class has lots of handouts and reading assignments to do. No tests and you just have to do an individual project to get an A. If you do the work, you'll get a B or A. He gives a lot of handouts about how to be a good student and critical thinking, so you're learning how to pass the class and not as much about psychology.

Do not take this class. Drop it if you can. I'm a hard working individual. I usually get all A's in my classes, but this professor was horrible. In my opinion he isnt even teaching psych. Very egotistical, and piles on homework. Please. Save yourself. It is incredibly boring and way to much repetitive work. He also wrote the textbook you use.

Dr. Bell is an amazing person and has many inspirational and innovative ideas, however, his teaching methods are lacking. He can be very unclear about what is expected, does not tell you the answers clearly so that you may learn. I did not learn much from this class except how to participate more and be able to talk more during my other classes.

His teaching style clearly demonstrates that he just doesn't feel like putting in the work to teach his students. He expects the students to read everything on their own, discuss with each other in class, and then move on to the next thing. I probably learned 3 things about psychology. It's a class on how to pass his class. Drop while you can.

You learn skills that you can carry into life, but there is alot of homework with this course. Expect no less than 6-8 hours of homework a week. This professor expects you to put this class above other classes, there is no final exam but there is a quiz every class period almost.

I had Dr. Bell for four classes back in 00,01. He was hard, demanding, uncompromising, and god help you if you have a different opinion, (since he wrote the books) BUT I grudgingly respected him, learned a lot about research, and went on to get my bachelors in biology and psychology. Looking back, what I learned from him was integral to my success.

I got to say, if it were not for Dr. Bell, i would have gotten my associates degree before I transferred. Because they require two classes that are only taught by him i had no choice but to take them. He is not clear about the material, does not give good feedback on your assignments, and cannot clearly answer a simple question that is asked.

In Dr. Bells class the highest grade you can get is a B. That is, unless you take on an A project. Option 1: read three books & write lengthy reports about them. Option 2: fill out a questionnaire w/ invasive questions. QUESTIONS INCLUDE: Details about first sexual experience, toilet training experiences, did you sleep in your parents bed?

When I started Dr. Bells critical thinking class, I didn't care about school and I was damn near flunking out. But the way Dr bell is, he doesn't just allow you to flunk his class, he bothers you until you put in effort. After his class, my grades in all my other classes went up, changed my life. I'm about to get my doctorate now 6 yrs l8r. Thank u
